Making the bar move

hi all...
im in the midst of creating a rectangle that acts like a firing mechanism in the pinball...
the idea is upon pressing the keyboard button the rectangle will move downwards.....once released the rectangle will go back to its original length....
i have no problem with the key events....jus have no idea on how to animate the rectangle without using applet...
can any experts pls give me some ideas please.....

This was a funny question. It is possible to do this with the property nodes. You can get the position of the progress bar digital display by creating a property node on the progress bar and selecting the property digital display. This property is then an array of references to all the possible digital displays in your case there is only 1 meaning that you can just take out the first element of the array. If you create a new property node on this reference you can take the property "Position -> Top" and write to this depending on your value.
I have created an example for you where I do the following:
1) Take position of Progress bar
2) Shift the position of the label so I only have the position of the fill color part.
Then the digital display is aligned with the top border of the fill. I would say it should be half way up so the middle of the digital display should be at the top so I:
3) Shift the position of the height of the digital display dividede by 2
Then the middle of the display is aligned with the top. But Actually I want it to be in the bottom when the value is 0 so I:
4) Add the value for the Height of the Fill Color Part
Then it is aligned nicely in the bottom and we are only needing to make it move with the value. To make this dynamic I:
5) Move the digital display with the (current value / maximum value) * height of fill color part
This seems to work nice for me, try to take a look at the attached example and see if it works for you (LabVIEW 2012)

Hi am a pc user and i am consedering of making the big move to apple and i am just doing all the research as you guess and i am putting out a call to all the mac users out there i have one question WHY SHOULD I GET A MAC AND NOT A PC ???

Browser bar and the bar above it disappeared, how do I get it back

I have Safari on my PC and the browser bar and the bar that has the files, edit, etc on it disappeared, how do I get it back? I was allowing my 2 year old daughter watch a show on netflix using google chrome but somehow she managed to get safari open and net thing I knew the browser bar is missing and when I tried to get it back, I managed to make things worse by making the bar above it disappear too. How do I get them back?

What on earth makes you think that? He's posted in the Windows category of the Safari community. He has never mentioned Mac OS. He said Safari was installed on his PC in his very first post. Furthermore, the details of his replies to your advice are precisely what you should expect if he was using Safari for Windows, and trying to implement the (inapplicable and unimplementable) Safari for Mac advice in the context of his particular issue. How to make the background move over when a movie clip hits the edge

ok so the idea here is to make a page with written content on it. the conent will not be able to be seen unless the user hits the arrow keys on there key board. So i need to make a group of objects i can make into a movie clip and than inside that movie clip make an animation that plays the squirrel running. i will pause here to ask two things i dont know how to do i want the squirrel to have an animation when standing still where it flicks its tail (like a real squirrel would). and also how would i flip the squirrel so when the left key is pressed it points left and when the right arrow is pressed it faces left? and my main question when it reaches the edge of the stage the extended background that runs off stage moves over to reavel more content. as well as not have the squirrel run off stage? in short i am using the squirrel to view the full pages content.

You're asking for quite a bit and aren't likely to get anyone to hand you a detailed solution. Here's some things to think about.
As far as flicking the tail goes, that's something you'll have to work out as an animation. You could do it as a timeline animation and/or as a coded animation where you adjust the rotation and other properties of the tail.
Getting the object to face left and right ican be a simple matter of changing its xscale property from 1 to -1 depending on which way it normally faces (1).
If you don't have a problem making the squirrel move to the edge, then you should have no problem making the background move either. You just need to continually check the squirrel x property to know when it hits the edge. Personally, I would only move the background and leave the squirrel in the center.

Spry Menu Bar move positions

Hi,
I've made a v. simple website www.uniquereject.co.uk but I am having problems getting the vertical menu bar to stay close to the left border. The menu bar is in the correct position on the homepage, yet when you navigate to any of the content pages- the bar moves inside away from the border. It's more of an annoyance than a major problem but it doesn't look consistent.

Well I figured it out, right click the arrow that makes the screen bigger and unclick the Hide Toolbar. I knew it couldn't be that hard.

Making the move to vista

I am making the move to VISTA on my primary development machine. I develope in LV 7.1 8.0 and 8.21 concurently. Is there any issues to be aware of? Many clients will still run the software on XP and a few on 2000. Will daqMX and Labview compiled programs work seamlessly. I would like to hear about similar experiences so I can mentally prepare for the troubles ahead, or not if we are all lucky. I gave it 6 months. I have not found any issues yet but have not distribudet my code to cilents either. Have I made a mistake?

On three machines it worked one client it did not. I will try setting the compatability, do I do this with the vista machine and send it with the mode already set. There is no daq and the 8.21 runtime is on the machine. I dont know what could be different on the client machine. the code which froze was purly user event, no daq, no tool kits, no communications, no analysis in this part of the code. Are there some visual effects or something else which could have been set by my vista PC that some XP boxes cant handle. The code does load and begins to execute but hangs on this popup vi. Very weird.

What happens when the scroll bar moves to the bottom by itself?

When I am browsing, the scroll bar moves downward all of sudden to the bottom of the arrow. When you click on the scroll bar to move the page back to the top, it automatically moves back the scroll bar back to the bottom of the page. I have tried reloading the page, going forwards and backwards, and refreshing the page but it still does this problem. The only way to fix this problem is you have to close Firefox and reopen the browser. Is there a solution?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

My mac book pro 13". It boots ok and skype launches on boot up. connects to internet etc. However, whilst the mouse moves around the scren ok, used via the track pad, I cannot open anything, close anything, or get the task bar to pop up.
I can close the laptop down via the power key, and can use some short cut keys, but the track pad operation is iffy, can you suggest how I rectify this.
I have now solved this, for future reference, I have a magic track pad as well and that was connected via bluetooth and sitting else where in the house. It blocked the laptops trackpad operations. When disconnected, my laptop track pad works fine.

Help my music wont play. Diamond on the bar doesnt even move. I have just authorised and downloaded itunes 10 after my last harddrive crashed and imported my purchases so I didnt think I'd get problems...

Cant get music to play. It's all there but the diamond on the bar doesnt even move, I can place it in the middle of the song but when I press play it goes back to the beginning and nothing!
If it helps I have just authorised a new computer and downloaded itunes 10 after my last hard drive crashed and then I imported my purchases from itunes cloud so I didnt think I'd get problems...

Change the amout a scroll bar moves when user uses the mouse wheel?

hi,
i have a JScrollPane, and when a user uses the "wheel" on the mouse, it seems to move up/down 1 line at a time...i would like it to scroll faster basically...so that when the "wheel", the scroll bars move up/down like 5 lines at a time....is there some way to set this value, or how can i do it?

It looks like it behaves just like if the user had clicked the up or down arrow on the scrollbar, so
I would suggest setting the unit increment on the vertical scroll bar to be 5X its current value. Of
course, this would also increase the amount that gets scrolled when the user clicks on the up
or down arrow. If you don't want that, you'd need to somehow only change the increment on a
mouse wheel event, do the scroll, then change it back. My guess is that you'll need to provide
your own look and feel class to do that.

Is there way to remove the bar you use to move a JFrame? I don't want it there for several reasons, if you want, I will give more detail.

I have seen a couple of posts in this forum suggesting to use a JWindow. Well, I can't get a JWindow to work. Here is the sample program I used.
a) Without doing anything type "aaa"
b) use tab key and then enter "bbb"
c) click on text field then enter "ccc"
d) use tab key
e) click on Dos window and use Ctrl-C to kill application
1) What is wrong with the Focus Manager. No caret is displayed in the text field or no 'rectangle' around the button.
2) Why is 'aaa' displayed on the Dos window when you kill the application?
3) I have seen a JWindow used in the JDK1.3 SwingSet2 demo, but it is only used to contain an image. Is a JWindow not meant to be used with other components?
Any comments would be appreciated.
