Making the fields grey in a sap screeen

Hi all
In CKECP transaction, while hitting the display button, the next screen appears with estimae details. While pressing the 'show item view', a subscreen with the estimate details appears. Now the requirement is to make the 'Total Price' and Total Value' columns not editable. How to go about doing this? Please help.

If the only solution is to change the sap standard program, simply change the program, it will prompt for an access key. This key can be retrieved in the SAP support portal (service.sap.com) at keys and requests, sccr keys, register object.
Sometimes these actions are outsourced to a competence center, so maybe youre not entitled to do this, in any case ask a resident senior developer for support.

What else must I do to force data entry other than making the field required in LC 9 Forms Designer?

I am trying to make sure that fields are populated with data prior to moving to the next field, but it seems that simply making the field required is not sufficient. What else must I do to enforce data entry within required fileds?

There are a variety of scripting techniques that can be used based upon the form requirements, UI aesthetics, designer preference,... The script below forces data entry into a text field object called 'tf1' but it is a dangerous practice and should be used carefully. You may find yourself in a infinite loop based upon the tab order. A safer pattern includes global field validation upon submit.

Making the field "company code" mandatory

How are you? Why no posts for a long time?
Making COMPANY CODE as a mandatory entry i think it is not possible with customization
This means you cant achieve this thro OBD2 or OB20 or OVT0
It is because SAP has given the provision of creating CMR only with general data and sales area data
With these two levels SD people can do most of their processes (t codeVD01)
Similarly SAP has given the provision of creating CMR only with general data and company code data
With these two levels FI people can do most of their processes( like that FI people also has t code to create CMR only with general data and company code)
These provisions where it is applied practically,, i dont know?
But thro development i think you can make each and any CMR you prepare it should be only with XD01 and that too in that Company code has to be made mandatory

How to pick the field "Origin Object" from SAP R/3

Hi all,
I need to implement a new field in a BEx Report : "Origin Object". This data is mix of "Cost Center" + "Project type", it's related to the PS module.
This field isn't available in my BW datawarehouse, so I need to figure out where and how to pick up it in R/3. I used the "data element" name : "CO_USPOB" and I've made a research through the "Where used list" tool but I didn't find any tables, only some structures. I've checked all of these structures but I didn't get any tracks...
Do you know another way to investigate? is there any doc. on the SAP.help about this data element?

Hi,
If you know the transaction where the field can be seen. Then run the trace on that transaction and in the Trace list you will see all the tables accesed during the tranasaction execution. Then you can get the correct table from the table list

BCALV_EDIT_02 - Edit button making the ALV grey out, i want to retain??

Dear Friends,
My problem:
want to retain the appearance of ALV with a column Editable.
I observe same thing is happening with example program BCALV_EDIT_02, when we click 'Edit' button, it is making Airfare Editable but all other columns are greyed out.
My problem is v similar. I want to retain the apprearance as it used to be when non-editable mode, but i want a column to be editable.
What is the solution. Do i have to pass any other things?

On clicking on EDIT button, you have to enable only the column which you want to edit and make it ready for input.

It seems that I've solved this issue. To get it work:
1. Select checkbox Time Recording and Travel Expenses via CATS for project type. Path: SPRO —> SAP Customizing Implementation Guide —> SAP Portfolio and Project Management —> Project Management —> Structure => Define Project Types
2. Run/schedule a synchronization with the report DPR_CATS_CPR_TRANSF (Transfer of CATS Itemizations to Project Management Application).

Making the fields invisible or etc. at the item overview screen

At the header data of the sales documents, there exist incoterms and payment terms. I want to make those invisible at the item overview screen (under Billing Document tab). I just want those data root from the header data, not from the item data. I don't want to enter data (about payment terms or incoterms) on the item overview screen.

Thank you for your consideration but can you please explain step by step.
Also to be more clear; the incoterm datas of the sales document's items come from the customer master data. Person can change or enter data about incoterms although there may exist different incoterm data at the header. That's why I want to hide or make unchangeable the incoterm field at the billing document tab of item data.

How to maintain the fields mandatory in Opportunity and quotation SAP CRM?

I have the following two requirements :
1.Need to mark the fields as mandatory in SAP CRM Opportunity (description,sales prospect,phase,status,opportunity group,origin
,product(description,quantity,expected total value) ,Milestones(Start date and end date),Organization.
2.Also the fields in SAP CRM Quotation ( Prodcut,Usage,Project Manager ITS (an Employee) and Capitalization ( our Z-customer field)
How to achieve this ? Is this can be done through pure customization in SAP CRM or any developers work involves? We are using SAP CRM 4.0 .
Pls provide the solution at the earliest .

Some can be done thru customazing in spro>crm>basic settings>incompleteness>Define Incompleteness Procedures. For more enhanced functionality you can use also badi under spro>crm>basic settings>incompleteness>Business Add-In for Incompleteness Check in Business Transac.
To define incompleteness for exampla for SAP CRM Opportunity - description, do the following in spro>crm>basic settings>incompleteness>Define Incompleteness Procedures:
- create new incompletenes group: e.g. ZOPP
- assign this group to your opportunity transaction type
- define incompleteness procedure:
     - object type: ORDERADM_H
     - field name: DESCRIPTION
     - relavance: HEADER
     - message: ERROR
- define determination

Which type of data should I choose in transfering the R/3 table to Sap BI 7

Dear Experts,
I am transfering the one ABAP TABLE with all the fields from sap r/3 to sap Bi 7.0 system.
I went to sap r/3 system and by using SBIW I clicked on maintain generic data sources and I am in confusion , which type of data I should opt for transfering the R/3 table into BI system.
a) Transactional
b) Texts
c) attributes.
please explain me when to choose these 3 different options ?

Making selective fields editable in adobe form [using web dynpro]

I have displayed an adobe form using web dynpro application. But I have to make certain fields (not all fields) on this adobe form editable. I dont want to make this adobe form interactive because I dont have to save any data in database. The data entered in the editable fields will be saved as a pdf.
What I did so far:
1) The fields which I want as editable, I have given there type as "User entered/ optional" & for rest of the fields I have given type as "Read only".
2) In web dynpro, I have enabled the adobe
3) This is not making the fields editable.
4) If I write the following code in my webdynpro method WDDOMODIFYVIEW, then my data coming from adobe is not getting displayed even though the fields get selectively editable.

So I kept this code & I also kept the Interface type "ABAP Dictionary based".
Additionally in Webdynpro, I used adobe form generated FM to get the adobe content & passed it to the "content" parameter of my adobe component in webdynpro.

Reflection and the field.set method

OK, I've made 2 classes, a ClearParent and ClearChild (which extends ClearParent). I'd like to have a "clear" method on the parent which dynamically sets all the fields to null. I'd like to be able to have any child that inherits from the parent be able to call clear and dynamically have all it's fields set to null.
Part of the restriction that I'm facing is that the fields are Objects (Integer) but the getter and setter methods take and return types (int). So I can't just loop through the Methods and call the setters with null.
I'd like to be able to loop through the fields and call set for all the fields with the parent class.
I'm inserting the code that I have for the parent and child classes at the end. Basically, the problem that I'm seeing is that if I do a
this.getClass().getName()
from the parent (when clear is called from the child) it shows me the child name ("ClearChild"). But when I try to do the
field.set(this, null)
it tells me this:
Class ClearParent can not access a member of class
ClearChild with modifiers "private"
How come when I get the name it tells me that it's the child but when I pass "this" to the set method, it says that it's the parent?
Any one know what's going on here? Is there anyway that I can have the parent set all the fields to null?

It is an instance of ClearChild that is being used so
that class name is ClearChild. However, the method
exists in the parent class and thus cannot act upon a

be a subclass).Ahh...makes sense.
Why don't you just override clear in the child?We were trying to avoid this because we run into problems in the past of people adding fields to the class, but not adding to the clear, and things not being cleared properly.
I talked it over with the guys here and they have no problem making the fields protected instead of private. If it's protected, then the parent has access to it and my sample code works.

Making screen field mandatory

hi can any one help in making the field email as a mandatory in su01 t-code and kindly help with process where to go and what are the steps do i take to make the field mandatory

Go to SHD0,
give the transaction as SU01 and give the name of transaction variant for example 'USR1'. click create. Since your requirement is only for email give some dummy name and click on create. In the next screen give some dummy name and enter and continue till you reach the screen with this title "Screen values 0900 Program SAPLSZA5" . In this screen for the field 'Email' check the box under 'required' column. now click exit&save. give some short text in the next screen and save it under appropriate package, Transport requests.
Note : you can default your transaction variant as the standard variant. (SHD0 - standard variants tab-> Activate/Deactivate as standard variant)
Now go to se93 and click on create , give transaction code as for example 'SU01N' (this will be your new transaction for creating user with email as mandatory field) and choose start object as 'Transaction with variant'
In the resultant screen, give the transaction code as SU01 and transaction variant as 'USR1' (the one we created earlier), check on all gui support box's accordingly, and save it under appropriate package and Transport request.
From here on you can use SU01N as the transaction for creating users with email as a mandatory field.
