the folder work is read only, when i try to make it writable it's accepted but when i come back to check it's still read only.
Tried to create a sigdata.gif file and put it in the folder, does not change anything

MAM 3.0 Signature Capture

Hi,
We have implemented MAM 3.0, however when we use the signature capture functionality, the applet gets loaded and we can capture the signature , but when we hit the save button , nothing happens, when we hit the clear button the captured signature is cleared.
Can anyone help me with locating the problem

Hi Priya,
Because you are running signature capture(applet) in Laptop Client, system will not allow applet to access the system resources. You need to set the policies for accessing the system resources by using the policy tool available under \j2sdk1.4.2_08\bin
Just Click on the executable policytool.exe , now you will get a pop up window to set the permissions....
Click on Add Policy Entry /then Add permission tabs
now select All permissions and click ok followed by done.
now save the file -

note: with the name .java.policy at the C:/documents and settings/ all users(or either any specific user that you are using)

Signature Capture using MAM

I need to implement signature capture from PDA. Our client use MI 7.0
He wants to use MAM standar function and i don't know how to do that.
I was watching a function "MAM25_080_CREATE" receiving a table with chars, merge into a xstring (lv_signature_raw )
and later do "CALL FUNCTION 'ALM_ME_SIGNATURE_CHECK'" and "CALL FUNCTION 'ALM_ME_SIG_CREATE_ARCHIVE_LINK'".
Can do someone explain me what are this function do?
How can i get the signature using MAM and put in smartform to print?.

Digital Signature from MTNL not working with Adobe reader

Dear Sir/Mam,
I have purchased a third party digital signature certificate. I have also installed in the windows ID. but when i try to click on the sign command it doesnt really work. i have tried it on Adobe 9 as well as adobe X.
Its very important for me to get this done so please let me know if any one has any solution for this.

Signature Capture in MI 7.0

HI All,
I am working in SAP MI 7.0 and I wanted to know about the Functionality of Signature Capture.
I found Note - 897289 - in which it explains how to install/deploy the functionality.
My First Question is - What is this exact functionality? I mean what will I achieve with it, functionaly?
My Second Question is: Does it require a touch screen? I mean will it work on a normal desktop, I mean How do you capture a signature on a desktop.. I thought it was by using a stylus and literally signing your name against an order or something.
Kindly Clarify. It will be very helpful.

I am refining my Query:
1) Standard MI 7.0 - What exactly is this Signature Capture Functionality? Like a User can actually 'sign' on a touchscreen.. ? Where is this signature stored in the backend?
Which functional Scenarios can use this Signature Capture?
2) In the MAM Backend Custmizing, in Order Type Profile - In Determine Order Processing: No of Signatures How does this particular setting affect the client behavior?
3) So does this require a touchscreen then? So will it work, if we have MI running on desktops?
4) If not a touch screen, that signature pads will work? They will generate a file and we will have to send it to the backend.. as an attachment?
5) Kindly elaborate on the digitised signatures if they can be used to provide the same functionality?

I needed to know if Netweaver mobile7.1 supports signature recognition. I read that using MAM it is possible. but in what format does it store the same and where does it save it.
also i needed to use the signature to be put on pdf and display it to the user.

Mobile 7.1 by default does not support Signature Capture functionality. You will have to implement it in your application just like MAM does. MAM uses applets to support this functionality. But i am not sure where this info is saved. Yes you can definitely capture the info and print out a document with the signature provided you have the required peripherals like printer connected to the device.

XMAM30 - digital signature - new applet running with MobileEngine.exe

I am new to this forum and could not find a solution for my problem.
I would be very happy, if anybody can help me.
I have developed a new applet based on the standard SAP applet for the digital signature in xMAM30. This applet works fine in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 but it doesn't work with the MobileEngine.exe!
I have already read the SAP note 897289 about this topic, but this note was not the solution for my problem. Because the SAP Standard applet (com.sap.mbs.mam.order.control.SignApplet) in the mamsignapplet.jar works fine in MS IE 6 and with MobileEngine.exe.
After several tests I found out, that the problem must be the JAR-file which contains the applet.
I have created a new JAR-File of the SAP applet class: com.sap.mbs.mam.order.control.SignApplet with the same MANIFEST.MF which I found in mamsignapplet.jar. But this new JAR-file doesn't work with MobileEngine.exe. Only the MS IE 6 could load the standard SAP applet for digital signature.
Now my question is:
What is the difference between the standard SAP jar-file "mamsignapplet.jar" and the jar-file I have created by using the normal Eclipse export as jar functionality?
What's wrong with the jar-file I have created?

Print Capture Signature in Smartforms

Hi experts,
I would like to know if it is possible to print a captured signature from a mobile device into my smartforms.
The customer will sign through a device and the output for the invoice will be printed with the signature.
I believe another SAP module(SAP MAM) is used to capture the signature but as an ABAPPER how can I retrieve the signature and include it in the printout of the invoice?

Ask sap-mam people to call a workflow or a report porogram in which .
1) if it is workflow run rrstxldmc and provide the captured sign file name and after that event is successful trigger and anotherr task that runs the script's driver program. Now the captured sign will be appered in your smartforms
Note: add the logo in the script(logo name is constant in the script)
2) if it is report submit rxtxldmc with the file name captured by the sapmam and remaining all are same.

Signature Capture- Custom controller NWDS

Hi all,
We have developed a custom controller to capture signature on mobile device. And we are using .GIF format to capture the signature image. It is working on NWDS simulator but when deloyed on Windows Mobile emulator is giving following error:
org.eclipse.swt.SWTException: Unsupported or unrecognized format
Please tell if anyone faced this issue.

Hi,
unfortnately our issue was in a different area. We had done it as a browser applet and it did not work on PDA, but it did on Laptop. It is a behaviour of creme to not show any error if a codeline is not known - it simply ignores this line of code. So we used a shareware code source to create GIF files. I am not 100% sure about the name of this. But if you have access to MAM - check how they solved it code wise - this should help you to understand how SAP has solved this issue.

ITunes & Windows Vista Home - Error File C:\Program Data\Apple Computer\Installer\Cache\iTunes 10.5.142\iTunes.msi was rejected by digital signature policy.

I tried what the diagnostic told me to do, and repaired the installation. I was able to burn a CD in iTunes, but after I restarted, the drives have disappeared again! Here's the diagnostic info now:

One person on one computer adding multiple electronic IDs or signatures to one document

I recently created a simple form in Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8. It has several places for signatures. I sent along with the form the Adobe user guide instructions for creating electronic IDs and signatures. However, in several instances, our executives have given their administrative assistants permission to sign for them. The assistants are also required to add their own signatures. Apparently, when they click on any signature field, their bosses' signatures come up. Can someone tell me how one person can create multiple electronic signatures and be able to select from among them in order to fill out one of these forms?

When a user is signing a form, the digital certificates that are installed (in Acrobat) on the computer being used to sign the PDF will be available to be used to create the signature. If only the "bosses" certificate is on the machine, this will be the only on available. Make sure all certificate that could be used to sign are installed on the machine being used to sign.
This screen shot is from the security settings in Acrobat, it shows multiple certifcates are installed.
And here is the signature dialog with the option to use one of the installed certificates on the machine...
