Managed server startup script not reading login info from boot.properties

To encrypt the username and password in weblogic admin server, I used a boot.properties file and setting some properties like StoreBootIdentity=true. This works as expected.
Now, I have a weblogic managed server within the same folder i.e.
under /bea/user_projects/domains/mydomain
To get the similar behaviour on this managed server, I created a boot1.properties file and set the following in the startup script
java -Djava.compiler=NONE -ms200m -mx200m $HOTSPOT_OPTIONS -classpath $CLASSPATH -Dweblogic.Domain=mydomain -Dweblogic.Name=$SERVER_NAME -Dweblogic.management.server=$ADMIN_URL -Djava.security.policy==$WL_HOME/server/lib/weblogic.policy -DRCP_PROPS=/data/css/adixit/samsung/scc612/server/cfg/RCP.props -Dlog4j.configuration=log4j.xml -Dweblogic.system.BootIdentityFile=/bea/user_projects/domains/mydomain/boot1.properties -Dweblogic.RootDirectory=/bea/user_projects/domains/mydomain weblogic.Server
When I run the script I get the following :-
<Jan 24, 2005 3:41:44 PM GMT+05:30> <Info> <Security> <BEA-090065> <Getting boot identity from user.>
Enter username to boot WebLogic server:
Why is it not able to pick the username and password from the boot1.properties file ? Any clues ? What settings can I change to make it work ?
Thanks in advance.

Being that you posted this problem a few months ago, I am assuming you found the cause of your problem. I too experienced this same symptom (boot.properties not being read) when trying to start a managed server on a different server than the admin JVM. I found the resolution in the following documentation:
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/ConsoleHelp/startstop.html#BootIdentityFiles
Basically, you have to copy the SerializedSystemIni.dat from the server that the admin JVM is on to the secondary server where the managed JVM is going to run. I was able to do as the link says (add the boot.properties file with plain text passwords and have it encrypted). Hope this helps you or someone else down the road.

    Hi,
    Reproducing this issue is very easy.....
    1). Just Create a Admin and Managed Server
    2). Start AdminServer then from Admin Console Disable the normal listen-port for admin Server (suppose it was 7001 disable it)....AND enable only the SSL port for Admin Server (example 7002).
    Managed Server (Listen Port=7003 and SSL ListenPort=7004)
    3). Now Try Start Managed Server.
    you wil get the Exact same exception
    <Jan 20, 2010 6:03:19 PM CST> <Error> <Configuration Management> <BEA-150000> <An error occurred while establishing a connection back to the adminstration server t3://140.126.24.25:6001 during startup. Since bootstrap succeeded check that t3://140.126.24.25:6001 uniquely identifies the administration server.
    javax.naming.ServiceUnavailableException [Root exception is java.rmi.NoSuchObjectException: The object identified by: '31' could not be found. Either it was has not been exported or it has been collected by the distributed garbage collector.]
    And
    <Emergency> <Management> <BEA-141151> <The admin server could not be reached at http://140.126.24.25:6001.>
    Now it will be easy for us to find out where is the issue actually.

  • Managed Server Startup - Part Duex

    Hello:
    Is it possible to auto-start managed servers on WLS 10.3.5 under Solaris 10?
    I read the thread "managed server startup" and did not want to hijack the thread. In my case, I have an init script that starts up Node Manager and one that starts up the Admin Server.
    So, once those two processes are up, is there a way for the defined managed servers to auto-start without any manual intervention on a user's part? Yes, I do have CrashRecoveryEnabled=true but as I understand it, that is for when a managed server goes down. In my case, the Solaris server is booting up.
    Thank you,
    Perry

    Unless you have 50 managed servers then I can't understand why you would want that. Just start them all up at the same time from the admin console under 'control' tab of server page. What if you have a server or two that you don't want on for some reason? This would power it up regardless. I would think you would want to control that from node manager lifecycle. There may be a way to do that through scripting but it's probably not a best practice. We'll see if someone else chimes in on the subject. I am curious as well...

  • WLS Admin and managed server startup issue

    Hi ,
    In one of WLS Domain both the Admin Server and Managed Server startup is just hanging at the below mentioned point :
    <Security> <BEA-090082> <Security initializing using security realm myrealm.>
    After this there are no error messages or logs being generated and the server start up is not proceeding .
    Only message shown a while after this is :

    Please provide some inputs on how to troubleshoot this issue .
    Checked the AdminServer.log and there are no errors reported there as well .

  • Changing Managed Server Startup

    hi experts,
    I am trying to change the JAVA HOME for my managed server via the Server --> Configuration --> Server Start tab on the weblogic console of the managed server. I am starting this Managed Server via NodeManager and I don't want the managed server to start with the Java Version specified on the Node Manager.
    As per the note on this page it is stated as follows
    +"Node Manager is a WebLogic Server utility that you can use to start, suspend, shut down, and restart servers in normal or unexpected conditions. *Use this page to configure the startup settings that Node Manager will use to start this server on a remote machine*"+
    I have changed the JAVA_HOME, Java Vendor, Bea Home, and Root directory to the new JRocket version, but still when I restart the server via Nodemanager, the Managed Server is started with the Java Home set on the Nodemanager.
    Can anybody let me know what is the correct way to start the Manager Server with a JVM that is different from the JVM set on the Nodemanager?
    Cheers,

    hi,
    If your using Linux,then try setting JAVA_HOME parameter in .profile and try excuting the .profile

  • My Mac Mini will not read TDK disks from my iMac G3.

    My Mac Mini will not read TDK disks from my iMac G3.
    I used an iMac G3 (2001) -- the ones that looked like a big pod -- running on OS X and saved files to TDK  CD-R, 700 MB disks, which worked fine. Now that I have a Mac Mini (model number  A1347) I cannot get this computer to read those disks, made on the iMac G3.  Once inserted each disk will open and I can retrieve files for a short period, then the problems start. The computer makes some noises, the beach-ball/pinwheel goes around and I cannot get the files to open or the disk to eject. After a while the disk does eject -- to my relief. I keep using Control+E until ejection happens.
    My Mac Mini (2010-2011) is hooked up to a View Sonic HDMI LED monitor, an iOmega external hard-drive for backing up, an Epson Stylus C88 Plus printer and to the internet by a fibre 10MB feed. The Mac Mini runs on OS X version 10.6.8 Snow Leopard: Processor Speed:2.66 GHz
    I took the Mac Mini to an Apple retailer and he hooked the computer up to one of his monitors and it read the TDK disks just fine. I am now using Sony CD-RW, 700 MB disks, but I would prefer to use my TDKs because I have such a large pile of blank ones to use and there are those TDK disks with information that I want to look at from time to time. Can anyone tell me what to do?
    DJG

    Try disconnecting everything attached to the Mini except the monitor.
    If that doesn't work, try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later. If successful, copy the files to the original account Public/Dropbox.
    Isolating an issue by using another user account
    If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • Could not retrieve connection info from torque connection pool

    Hi,
    I am using Apache Torque for making connection with my Oracle 9i server.
    My Torque.properties file configuration is as follows:-
    torque.dsfactory.cpm.factory=org.apache.torque.dsfactory.SharedPoolDataSourceFactory
    torque.dsfactory.cpm.pool.maxActive=10
    torque.dsfactory.cpm.pool.maxWait=60
    torque.dsfactory.cpm.pool.testOnBorrow=true
    torque.dsfactory.cpm.pool.validationQuery=SELECT 1 from dual
    torque.dsfactory.cpm.connection.driver = oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    I am getting the following error:-
    Caused by: org.apache.commons.dbcp.SQLNestedException: Could not retrieve connection info from pool
    at org.apache.commons.dbcp.datasources.SharedPoolDataSource.getPooledConnectionAndInfo(SharedPoolDataSource.java:169)
    According to me the cause of error is because of the database connection was not available in the connection pool. Or it might be due to The connection was not closed properly becuase of the some issue in the persistent layer.
    My Research till now:-
    Checked all the connection object properly closed in my classes as well as Torque Classes.
    Do anyone have any idea regarding this error. If yes, please suggest some solution for it.
    ----Anurag----

    Hi,
    I have my complete Torque.properties file, just for the reference, I have pasted few lines from my torque.properties file. Secondly, I am using the JDBC Driver for my oracle connection & its working fine. The problem is when my application tries to access connection from connection pool, & if it finds no connection in the pool it gives error. After increasing the size of the connection in the pool, still I am getting the same error. Do you have some idea regarding this.

  • The version of OLE on the client and server machines does not match. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010110)

    Hi,
    I have installed FIM CM Client on one machine and FIM CM update service on another machine. Both are windows server 2008 r2 machines.
    When i try to enroll a permanent smart card for a user, its shows me the following error:-
    The version of OLE on the client and server machines does not match. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010110)
    Also there is no logging done for the particular event.
    I am able to change my smart card pin and view my smart card info. through the FIM CM client.
    Is there a compatibility issue of FIM CM 2010 with Windows server 2008 r2?
    Thanks

    emac77,
    Support for Canon 5D MIII RAW files was announced in ACR 7.1 (Adobe Camera Raw 7.1).
    The current stable release is ACR 7.2 while ACR 7.3 is still a Release Candidate (Beta).
    Starting ACR 7.2, Adobe stopped supplying a manual download link which was available till 7.1. Adobe Application Manager (AAM) is the only way for you to update to ACR 7.2.
    However, here is a direct download link that AAM connects to for the download that you can use to grab the .zip or .dmg (Mac) file. Download and install. See if you're able to open your files then.

  • Read justification info from text layer.

    How to read  justification info from text layer?
    myLayer.property("Source Text").value.justification;
    return
    6612 - Left, 6613 - Right, 6614 - Center  in CS6
    6814 - Right, 6813 - Left, 6815 - Center  in CC
    it is right for any computer and operating system?

    I would try to steer clear of using the numbers, only because they have changed in each version of After Effects and probably will continue to. You should compare the justification value against the ParagraphJustification options. Pg. 185 in the CS6 scripting guide has the list of choices:
    TextDocument justification attribute
    textDocument.justification Description
    The paragraph justification for the text layer.
    Type
    A ParagraphJustification enumerated value; read-only. One of:
    ParagraphJustification.LEFT_JUSTIFY
    ParagraphJustification.RIGHT_JUSTIFY
    ParagraphJustification.CENTER_JUSTIFY
    ParagraphJustification.FULL_JUSTIFY_LASTLINE_LEFT
    ParagraphJustification.FULL_JUSTIFY_LASTLINE_RIGHT
    ParagraphJustification.FULL_JUSTIFY_LASTLINE_CENTER
    ParagraphJustification.FULL_JUSTIFY_LASTLINE_FULL
    Here is a simple test function that will alert the justification value when it's matched. You can change the alerts to return whatever code you want based on the justifaction value found.
    /*     SAMPLE FUNCTION THAT CHECKS FOR JUSTIFICATION VALUE     */
    var myLayer = app.project.item(1).layer(1);
    textJustVal(myLayer);
    function textJustVal(myLayer){
              var val = myLayer.property("ADBE Text Properties").property("ADBE Text Document").value.justification;
              if(val == ParagraphJustification.LEFT_JUSTIFY){
                        alert("Left");
              }else if(val == ParagraphJustification.RIGHT_JUSTIFY){
                        alert("Right");
              }else if(val == ParagraphJustification.CENTER_JUSTIFY){
                        alert("Justified");
              }else if(val == ParagraphJustification.FULL_JUSTIFY_LASTLINE_LEFT){
                        alert("Lastline Left");
              }else if(val == ParagraphJustification.FULL_JUSTIFY_LASTLINE_RIGHT){
                        alert("Lastline Right");
              }else if(val == ParagraphJustification.FULL_JUSTIFY_LASTLINE_CENTER){
                        alert("Lastline Center");
              }else if(val == ParagraphJustification.FULL_JUSTIFY_LASTLINE_FULL){
                        alert("Lastline Full");
              }else{
                        alert("There must be an error.");

    LR 5.6 on Mac desktop all of a sudden will not read any card from any reader but will work on my laptop. I can work on previous images but not import new ones. Even if I create a catalog on laptop and import to my desktop on a thumb drive, the images are only accessible as long as the thumb drive is inserted.

    Sounds like you may need to repair the Disk Permissions on your drive where your images are stored.

  • My n82 is not reading my pictures from card

    hy, I have a nokia n82, everything is working just fine, but this phone is not reading my picters from card, not even one of theme, pictures from phone memory are opened.
    Everything else is working from card, music, videos, office doc., pictures...no. can anyone help me? maybe i did something wrong...a setup or something?????

    babdi, I think the hard reset is not the solution to ALL problems let's first try some things before recommending doing hard resets for all problems.
    in this case the likely problem is a corruption with the Gallery database in the Memory card. But it's hard to pin down.
    There are several things to try I wouldn't keep doing RESETs of the device as you may not solve the problem and you are wiping all your settings, and files.
    The problem is either in the \private folder in the Memory Card or some other file in the \sys or \system folders there.
    You can try deleting some folders or backing up YOUR files from the memory card then re-formatting. Just don't make a copy of ALL the contents from the memory card, only the files you put there. The other files will/should be recreated automatically.
    640K Should be enough for everybody

  • "Not Read" receipt received from sender for all emails sent.

    We recently migrated from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 and I've got one user that started having a strange problem after the migration.  She has Outlook set to request a read receipt for all emails that she sends and that works fine except that
    for every email she sends, she gets a "Not Read" receipt back and this not read receipt comes from her as if she sent the email to herself and didn't read it.  She also get the not read receipt if she deletes emails that are in her sent box
    and again, the not read receipt comes from her.
    This user is using Outlook 2007 SP3 with all available updates installed.  We've tried a new profile and we've also tried on a different computer with the same results.  She doesn't have any rules set up except for the one for clearing categories
    that I believe is a default rule.  I've checked the settings of the rule and there is nothing there that would be causing this.  The other strange thing is that these not read receipts seem to come in batches.  If she sends one email the the
    not read receipt doesn't show up or at least not immediately.  If she sends 2 or 3 messages then she'll get all of the not read receipts for those 2 or 3 messages at the same time.

    Hi
    Please check this thread
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/2dbf0122-8d63-4375-91b4-6ba2cf52ed2e/not-read-receipt-to-senders
    Tell the senders to stop sending messages with read receipts and it wont be a problem
    And to To determine the problem, Please test the feature on local side to check whether the symptom occurs. Meanwhile, you can let the sender in remote domain send message to other domain to
    check the result.

  • Disaster Recovery - Managed Server Startup

    We are testing some disaster recovery and want to be able to start our managed servers on our B node in MSI mode while the A node with admin server is down. It tests fine and works with nodemanager running. However, we want to assume that there has been a jvm problem on one or more managed servers and they have ceased to run on the B node. When I run the startManagedWebLogic.cmd and plug in my managed server name and admin link (which is obviously unreachable), I get the message below. I copied down the managed servers info (there is no 'config' folder as mentioned in the Oracle instructions so I copied down the 6 server folder into \common\bin\config\acr2 folder). Any tips on getting this to work?

    So no one has ever had to restart a managed server on a clustered environment when the admin was down? Seems like this would be a common disaster recovery item that would be needed. If anyone has this working please provide details. These details found in Oracle documentation are a bit incomplete...
    Starting a Managed Server in MSI Mode
    To start up a Managed Server in MSI mode:
    1.Ensure that the Managed Server’s root directory contains the config subdirectory.
    If the config directory does not exist, copy it from the Administration Server’s root directory or from a backup to the Managed Server’s root directory.
    Note: Alternatively, you can use the -Dweblogic.RootDirectory=path startup option to specify a root directory that already contains these files.
    2.Start the Managed Server at the command line or using a script.
    The Managed Server will run in MSI mode until it is contacted by its Administration Server. For information about restarting the Administration Server in this scenario, see Restarting a Failed Administration Server.
    I have used the root.directory switch to point to these locations as well but still get message.....<Apr 13, 2010 11:28:05 AM CDT> <Critical> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000386> <Server
