Managed server trying to start as admin server

I have one VM with SOA Suite that it is fully functional.
I made a copy of that VM and changed the hostname and IP.
Making a search under all the disk I replaced all occurences of the old hostname and IP with the new ones.
Now I can start AdminServer and soa_server, but when I try to start bam_server I'm getting the following error:
weblogic.management.ManagementException: Booting as admin server, but servername, bam_server, does not match the admin server name, AdminServer
at weblogic.management.provider.internal.RuntimeAccessService.start(RuntimeAccessService.java:67)

at weblogic.t3.srvr.T3Srvr.run(T3Srvr.java:446)
at weblogic.Server.main(Server.java:67)
The steps I'm following to start the servers it is as follows:
cd $NM
wlst.sh
startNodeManager()
nmConnect('weblogic','welcome1','localhost','5556','soa_domain','/u01/app/oracle/user_projects/domains/soa_domain')
nmStart('AdminServer')
nmStart('soa_server')
nmStart('bam_server')
This post is related to this other post, but I don't have permissions to reply on that one, so I created a new one:
starting managed server with nodemanager
Thanks in advance for any tip you can give me.

The servers starts correctly if I run the scripts, but not from the wlst.sh console:
$nohup $WL_HOME/server/bin/startNodeManager.sh > nodemanager.out &
$nohup $MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/soa_domain/startWebLogic.sh > adminserver.out &
$nohup $MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/soa_domain/bin/startManagedServer.sh soa_server > soa_server.out &
$nohup $MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/soa_domain/bin/startManagedServer.sh bam_server > bam_server.out &

  • Error 6072 trying to start the admin console

I get the following error trying to authenticate locally on the server:
security ( 6072): for host caedir02.cae.ca trying to GET /admin-serv/authenticate, admin40_host_ip_check reports: Unauthorized host ip=::ffff:142.39.20.22, connection rejected
I am running Directory Server 5.2

So it looks like your ip doesn't have access to authenticate to the server. the ip=::fff: preceding the ip address is very odd looking.
My suggestion would be to modify your configuration information for the admin server by editing the LDAP entry containing the attribute nsAdminAccessHosts to include the FQDN of your machine.
If that doesn't work change that attribute to a *.
If that doesn't work I don't know what to tell you. If you do want to restrict access you will need to eventually remove the star and keep tweaking the entries until you can get access.

    Hi,

hi, you should not do nothing with user root.
please, don't use root again for weblogic administration.
list all files with root permissions:
move to Middleware Home, example: cd /u01/app/oracle/Middleware
    find . -user root
if there are files with root permissions, change it to oracle:oinstall
    I saw this:
    Could not load Logmanager "oracle.core.ojdl.logging.ODLLogManager"
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.core.ojdl.logging.ODLLogManager
Please check in DOMAIN_HOME/bin/setDomainEnv.sh file if exist this:
    JAVA_OPTIONS="-Djava.util.logging.manager=oracle.core.ojdl.logging.ODLLogManager ${JAVA_OPTIONS}"
    export JAVA_OPTIONS
    MWCONFIG_CLASSPATH=${FMWCONFIG_CLASSPATH}${CLASSPATHSEP}${COMMON_COMPONENTS_HOME}/modules/oracle.odl_11.1.1/ojdl.jar
    export FMWCONFIG_CLASSPATH
    if exist, replace for:
    JAVA_OPTIONS="${JAVA_OPTIONS}"
    export JAVA_OPTIONS
if not existe, its necesary for you to use /prosun/jasper/org.apache.commons.logging_1.0.4.jar in your classpath?. If it isn't necesary delete it, and restart the AdminServer.

Looking at your error message a little closer, I don't believe it has anything to do with port conflicts but rather that even though you are executing the startManagedWeblogic.cmd with your managed server name (MS1), the error indicates that it is trying to start the Admin Server (not MS1). Note in your error message the following: Unable to obtain lock on C:\bea\user_pr
    ojects\domains\PB530Domain\servers\AdminServer\tmp\AdminServer.lok. Server may a
    lready be running
It is saying that it cannot start the Admin Server because it is already running (which is probably true in your case). Have you made any changes to the startManagedWeblogic.cmd or the startWeblogic.cmd scripts? I would start debugging there and try to figure out why the script is trying to start your admin server instead of MS1 as you requested on the cmd line.

i did the same thing for managed servers to start the server.
    My Question is:
Are we missing any configurations/settings while creating domain?
Is there any other option to start the server without adding <native-io-enabled>false</native-io-enabled>?
    Regards,
    Naga

    Hi,
my managed server heap size properties are
    -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -Xms256M -Xmx512M
But the error with Admin server also and we are not providing any heap size properties to admin server. Becuase while creating the domain, i haven't got any
option to set the heap size for Admin server. Am i required to set heap size properties in Admin server by following this path "Summary of Servers >AdminServer->Server start->"Arguements"?
Sorry, i am not able to find activity.log. Can you please tell me the location where i can find acivity.log. If i am not wrong, are you taling about serverOut.log? If that is serverOut.log, please tell me which log you require? is it admin server or managed server?

  • How to start the admin server on another WLS machine?

    Hi,
I have a weblogic cluster with 2 weblogic machines: machineA and machineB.
The cluster contains 4 managed servers (2 on each WLS machine)
The admin server runs on machineA (standalone).
I have a file backup of the domain directory on machineA.
              Suppose machineA crashes.
How can I start the admin server on machineB?
              Kind regards,
              Pieter

    Thanks for your reply,
I know how to (re)start the admin server on machineA. But in this case I want to start the admin server on machineB.
              The documentation says:
Restarting an Administration Server on Another Machine
If a machine crash prevents you from restarting the Administration Server on the same machine, you can recover management of the running Managed Servers as follows:
Install the WebLogic Server software on the new administration machine (if this has not already been done).
Make your application files available to the new Administration Server by copying them from backups or by using a shared disk. Your application files should be available in the same relative location on the new file system as on the file system of the original Administration Server.
Make your configuration and security data available to the new administration machine by copying them from backups or by using a shared disk. For more information, refer to Directory and File Backups for Failure Recovery.
Restart the Administration Server on the new machine.
Simply starting the admin server on the other machine does not work because it tries to start the admin server on the ip address of the old machine.

  • Trying to start up the manager process in a fresh installation

    Version 11.2.1.0.3
    Platform : RHEL 5.4
To configure manager process in a machine (which is going to be a target server ), I downloaded GG installer from edelivery.
Unzipped the installable in the desired location. Then I created a basic parameter file for the manager and tried to start up the manager process. But the manager process is not coming up.
This is what I've done till now after the installation of GG (By installation , I mean Unzipping and Untarring)
    1. set the env variables for the database
    2. Created the parameter file for manager as shown below.
    $ ./ggsci
Oracle GoldenGate Command Interpreter for Oracle
    Version 11.2.1.0.3 14400833 OGGCORE_11.2.1.0.3_PLATFORMS_120823.1258_FBO
    Linux, x64, 64bit (optimized), Oracle 11g on Aug 23 2012 20:20:21
Copyright (C) 1995, 2012, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.
    GGSCI (stryker179) 1> info mgr
    Manager is DOWN!
GGSCI (stryker179) 4> view param mgr
    port 7809
    purgeoldextracts /u04/ggData/dirdat/MS/*, usecheckpoints
    dynamicportlist 7840-7849
    GGSCI (stryker179) 2> start mgr
    Manager started.
    GGSCI (stryker179) 3> info mgr
Manager is DOWN!I haven't created any gguser at DB level. But that is not a pre-requisite for manager process. Right ?
-- Regarding the logging of GG's errors
Wish I could check some logs to see what is causing this issue ?
Where are the logs (.rpt files) stored ? I believe we have to manually create a directory called dirrpt.
For , the fresh installation, the dirrpt directory was not created. Only the following directories were found after the installation (Untar)
    $ ls -alrdFt * | grep /
    drwxr-x--- 7 oracle oinstall      4096 Aug 24 07:06 UserExitExamples/
    drwxr-x--- 2 oracle oinstall      4096 Aug 24 07:33 cfg/
    drwxr-x--- 2 oracle oinstall      4096 Aug 24 07:33 dirprm/
    drwxr-x--- 2 oracle oinstall      4096 Aug 24 07:33 dirjar/

    Hi ,
    1. Did you execute CREATE SUBDIRS in GGSCI prompt?
It will create all the required folders like dirprm,dirrpt,dirdef,dirsql,dirdat...etc
Db level user is not required for starting the manager process, But you have to create mgr parameter file under dirprm folder , for that you have to execute ,
    GGSCI > EDIT PARAMS MGR
in that file mention the PORT number , usually it will be 7809 ex, PORT 7809,
then start the mgr in GGSCI
    GGSCI > START MGR
again if you are getting MANAGER DOWN message then check the details in ggserr.log file which is available in GG home directory where you have unzipped the binaries .
    Hopefully this will help you
    Annamalai.

hi, The problem is "java.net.UnknownHostException: soahost1vhn0"
    do you ping the "soahost1vhn0"??
    try that:
    ping soahost1vhn0
if do ping then, you can add "soahost1vhn0" to you hosts file:
    vi /etch/hosts
add your IP and the hostname:
    X.X.X.X soahost1vhn0

Change the "Listen Address" attribute of the admin server to be its machine
name or IP address. I think you currently have it set to "localhost".
Hopefully this should fix atleast one of the exceptions below.

Try running netstat to see whether another process is actually running at
    the given address/port.
Also check using ifconfig/ipconfig or directly checking /etc/hosts file of

Try running the manageed server directly (as sort of admin) by not passing
the admin server url and bringing it just like an admin server.
See if this works. If it works, then soemthing wrong in the way the admin
server is receiving the request/security credentials from managed server.
Also make sure both managed and admin servers are on the same patch/service
    pack level.

  • Managed Server started but reflected as Shutdown in Admin Console

    Hi,
Our managed server is running as service (but the error log shows it is unable to contact the Admin server, thus running in independence mode). On our admin console, it shows the managed server as shutdown. How can we resolve this issue?
We have tried to clear all the folders under \servers\<managedserver> except the security folder containing boot.properties. However it kept prompting that invalid username/password has been entered. If we restore the original folders, the managed server was able to startup, although in independence mode. Is it because of some ldap ldift file which we find in the managed server's subfolder? How can we resolve this??
Please help, as this is a production environment and this issue just suddenly happened. It was running fine earlier

    Note:
The installation of WLS done using Root.
We can start/stop MS using conventional ways.
    Cheers,

although i am not an expert,
but i am very confident that any WLS you install,
it can be configured like i tried it,
    First Environment-----Machine
Add a machine by giving a name
    Second Environment------Server
Add a server giving a sever name
    Third Environment----machine
Add the server to the machine from the tab server
    Fourth Environment-------server
Add A a SSL Port to the Sever and save
Click Start Server and every thing goes well
    Thanks
