Management console fails connecting to Management server.

I have installed Oracle 9.2 on Red Hat Advanced Server V2.1.
Also installed Management server and client software on the system.
Started everything up: oemctl start oms, agentctl start agent, apachectl start...
Run Manager Console on Linux machine (i.e. locally)
Runs successfully - connecting stand-alone
Runs successfully - connecting to management sever
Installed client software on a Windows NT PC.
Runs successfully - connecting stand-alone
FAILS - connecting to Management server
On another NT PC, try running web interface to Management server
FAILS - Same error as when using thick client.
Failure is the same in both cases: The exception (java.lang.NullPointerException) occured.
Failure of both of these suggested a server issue...
Don't know where to find management server logs?
Looking at $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/logs/error_log seems unable to find files, e.g.:

I have tried reinstalling Oracle website, however this made no difference.

Can you ping the server which is running OEM from the client NT machine?
Are you trying to connect using DNS or IP?
Verify that this works first.

Exchange 2010 SP1 management console fail on local exchange servers.
The following error occurred while attempting to connect to the specified Exchange server CAS123.domain.co.za
    The attempt to connect to
http://cas123.domain.co.za/PowerShell using “kerberos” authentication failed: Connecting to remote server failed with following error message: The WS-Management service cannot process the request because IP address cas123.domain.co.za is invalid. For more
information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic.
However do note that the Exchange Management Shell also fails with the exact same error on both my CAS and Mailbox servers.
Though I am still able to open both tools via my backup server.
    All ells works fine.
nslookup resolves the exchange servers as they should be. Frankly I am stumped as to the invalid IP address.
My exchange environment have been running problem free for years and this problem only occurred last week Thursday after some .NET updates.

    Hi,
As per the information and details provided by you, the only thing that I can figure out is that: -
You receive an error: Exchange 2010 SP1 management console fail.
There are two methods to resolve this problem: -
    Method 1: -
Close all MMC/EMC instances before proceeding.
Open the Registry editor (regedit) as the user you run the EMC under.
    Go to
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ExchangeServer\v14\AdminTools
Look for value, Node structure setting.
If it is there, back it up and then remove it.
    Method 2: -
Close all MMC/EMC instance before proceeding.
Open powershell or powershell IDE as the user you run the EMC under and execute the following command:
    Remove-Item Property- Path
    HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\ExchangeServer\v14\AdminTools\ -Name NodeStructureSettings
    Close Powershell
I hope this information will be helpful for you. Correct me if the information that I am having is wrong.
    Thanks and regards

  • Management Console Fails

When I open our Exchange 2010 Management Console I get the error below.
"An Active Directory error 0x51 occurred when trying to check the suitability of server 'lifedev03.devdomain.lifetimeinc.com'. Error: 'Active directory response: The LDAP server is unavailable.'"
Some background, we had a 2003 Exchange Server that was not being used and the sever was decommissioned.  Not sure how I can get AD to remove that 2003 server as it is too late to re-create it.  Any ideas?

Sorry, just reread your post and now understand that the ghost server is an Exchange server, not a DC.
If you have a machine with the Exchange 2003 System Manager installed, or can find a machine on which you can install it, that's the best way to remove the server.  Just navigate to it and delete it.
You can also use ADSI Edit.  Connect to the Configuration naming context.  Navigate to CN=Servers,CN=<Exchange 2003 administrative grou>,CN=Administrative Groups,CN=<organization name>,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=<domain>,DC=<com>,
select the server that no longer exists and delete the object and all its child objects.
The ESM method is the best because it'll help ensure that other dependent objects are removed, so I recommend trying to use that one.

  • Installation of Management Console fails

I'm trying to install the OpsMgr Management Console on our management server, but it fails:

What is going on and why is the installation failing?

I suggest uninstalling both .Net frameworks (3.5 & 4.5), reboot server and then install them back, if not 4.5, try installing 4.0 and try installing SCOM, hopefully this should work

  • How to have one centeral management console for DB and Application server?

    Hi
Thank you for reading my post
I read in several places that ORACLE provide facilitis that help developers to have one centeral console to manage Application server / Database and what ever oracle products.
I want to know that, when i have Oracle 10g r2 and Application server 10.1.3.1 installed, how i can use that centeral management console?
is it some other application that i should install ?
or it is just some more configuration?
    thanks

What you are looking for is called Grid Control.
You will need the Grid Control Agent installed on each server that has products from Oracle's technology stack installed (database, web server, app server, etc). You will also need install the Grid Control software and repository.
You can download Grid Control from the following link:

  • Group Policy Management Console Failes to open when one Domain Controller is powered down

    Hi All,
This was an accidental discovery, but here's my dilemma. I have a site with 2 domain controllers(Windows 2008 R2), and if I shut down my second domain controller, when I try to open the Group Policy Management  Console on the 1st domain controller,
it fails to open and I get the following error, "The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted" with 3 options to "retry", "choose another domain controller", or remove.   If I go to chose another domain
controller and select the 1st domain controller it still fails.  Unless the 2nd DC is turned on, I have no issues opening the GP management console. Not sure, why this is happening, I've done it in the pass without issue.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Well it seems that some how the PDC emulator is set to be the 2nd DC instead of the 1st DC on the 1st DC which explains why the failure after the 2nd DC went down. Why or should I say how could the PDC get switched from the primary DC without human intervention.
Does the PDC automatically switch for any reason?

Last night I installed update 3 for Visual Studio 2012 professional (version 11.0.60610.01).  This morning when I started the package manager console I received the following errors.  I did a repair of VS but other than taking a long time

Ran Get-ExecutionPolicy from PowerShell (x86) it returns Restricted
Also looking around... I have on add-in installed or running
Also tried uninstalling nugget and reinstalling
I noticed on the NuGet website it calls for PowerShell 2.0. It seems I have PowerShell 3.0, could that be a problem? Can I install PowerShell 2.0/3.0 side by side, is there an update to NuGet?

  • Console cannot connect to Admin Server in a local network

    Hi,
This issue may has been asked before, but I didn't find corresponding answer. So I ask again:
The Directory server 5.2 P4 is running on Windows XP and a console running on the same server (192.168.1.80) works fine. However second console which is running on 192.168.1.50 can not connect to admin server. Error message is:
Cannot connect to the Admin Server "http://homeserver.keiban.com:5201/" The URL is not correct or the server is not running.
I noticed that if I use http://192.168.1.80:5201 to connect admin server instead of http://homeserver.keiban.com, it took 10 seconds to show Initialization Failure:
Connect connect to the Directory Server "ldap://homeserver.keiban.com:5200" LDAP error: failed to connect to server ldap://homeserver.keiban.com;5200 Would you like to attemt to restart the Directory Server?
In Control Panel -> Windwos Firewall -> Exceptions, I have added port number 5201 for Sun ONe Admin Server 5.2 on TCP.
In etc/host file, an entry is already added:
    192.168.1.80 homeserver.keiban.com homeserver
Both computers are in a local network and via cable DSL to connect to Internet. Is there some thing I am missing?
    Your help will be appreciated,

    1. Make sure your FQDN is set up correct on both
client and Server.Victor, you are right! I setup FQDN on server properly, but forgot to have FQDN setup to map FQDN to IP address on client. So the Console goes to Internet to find the directory server in which it causes failure.
    Thanks your hint,
    a. ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx from client to Server
Check the Admin Server for Client Access Control
    configuration.

  • Sync cant be done because of failed connection to the server

    Hello!
I surf Internet via proxy (in my corporate network). This proxy need password protected auth. I provided my pass to Firefox and now can surf Internet well, but when I am trying to sync my data (with embedded sync tool) there appears error "sync encountered an error while connecting: Failed to connect to the server". I guess, that it can`t connect, because of the proxy, but the Sync tool never asked me a password. Are you taking into account saved password for proxy which is already exist in settings?.. What can I do to sync my data when I am behind the proxy? At home sync works very well. Thanks a lot!
    Lucy.

I may have solved the problem myself, only to find another one.
If I tap each of the accounts in turn, I find that it's the 'Exchange' one that's failing. trouble is, I can't recall what this does, or why I set itup, as i don't use MS Exchange. I suspect it's connected with syncing to either Outlook.com or Gmail, but I'm not sure.
BTW, I still think the error message should say which account is generating the error - Apple stuff is supposed to be easy and intuitive, and this isn't!

installNTservice ... for the admin NT service
installNTservice PIA for the managed weblogic server
Because we use proxy servers in front of the Webservers, a registry entry is required
for the two new services generated by the installNTservice cmd. The entries look
like they are from the setenv file.

  • Management console connection refused

When I tried to use the management console to connect to JRockit on another
machine, I got the error at the end of this email. I downloaded a
license, the application is definitely running and listening on 7091. Could
someone provide some insight into this error?
    Thanks

I did that as well, but it doesn't change the error message beyond the IP address which is refusing the connection:

  • Exchange Management Console, Initialization Failed

    Hi,
Today when i open the Exchange 2010sp1 EMC it gave me this error
The following error occurred while attempting to connect to the specified Exchange Server HUBC01.contoso.int
    The attempt to connect to
http://HUBC01.contoso.int/powershell using "kerberos" authentication failed: connection to remote server failed with following error message: The WinRM client cannot process the request because the server name cannot be resolved. for more information see
    the about_remote-troubleshooting help topic
    Your quick response really appriciated,
    Dilshan

    Hi Dilshan,
    Any updates?
Please check whether "WinRM IIS Extension" is installed in the Server Manager->Feature. If not, please install it.
Please also try to use another member of Organization Management to log on to Exchange to open EMC to test.
    Frank Wang
I came across this thread when troubleshootinga a similiar problem.  I login to Exchange this morning and I'm unable to open EMC and get an Initialization Failed error message.  It states
The attempt to connect to http://exchange2010server/PowerShell using "Kerberos" authentication failed: Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message: Access is denied.
I'm curious if the proposed solution to this thread would solve my problem.  I'm a little stumped as to what could cause this, other than the fact a colleague of mine installed the Exchange management tools on his Win7 workstation.  That really
is the only change that has taken place in the last week.
    Any thoughts?
