Management Tools on Windows for X2200 and X6220

Hi
I am totally new to Sun Systems so please forgive my ignorence.
i am much more used to HP servers but we have completely moved away from them to Sun in a Data Centre. The servers were installed by a third party company and they have been left in a bit of a mess. I have been trawling the web site to see if there are any management tools that can be installed on Windows to get system information, RAID settings etc etc but have not have any luck. Do these exist?

Silent Install Exchange 2010 SP2 RU7 Management Tools On Windows 7?

We already have Exchange 2010 SP2 RU7 running on a server. We would like to automate deploying the management tools to the Windows 7 workstations of admins that use the console.
Would a batch file with these commands work when run on a Windows 7 SP1 workstation?

First, please make sure the Windows 7 version is 64-bit version. When you create a batch file, you should specify the shared Exchange setup file, you can refer to the following thread.

After you have installed Exchange Management Tool on Windows 7, please always ensure you install any Exchange Service Pack which is the same with Exchange server on the PC running EMC.

I wanted to install windows for Mac and I had vista so I put I the disk and installed it then it loses my computer wen I turned it on it went straight to windows and it asked me to install it and put in the windows box code I found out I didn't have Ma.

The two other posts are correct... so I'll just clarify. What's happening right now is your system is trying to boot into Windows in order to finish the installation. What you want to do is make it boot into OS X. As mende1 indicated, with your system off, hold down the Option key and continue to hold it while you turn the system on. You will eventually be presented with an option to select which partition you would like to boot from. Choose OS X. After you get into OS X, again, as mende1 indicated, change the Startup Disk to OS X. What this will do is cause your system to automatically boot into OS X when you restart it instead of you having to use the Option key when booting each time.
Relaunching BootCamp Assistant will allow you to remove your Windows installation and partition.

Mountain Lion - Window for ID and Pw appear without text!

After install Mountain Lion, (Leopard to Mountain Lion with succes!) the window for ID and Pw (that appear for all permission, to install a new program or other) appear without text! Button to say ok or return are without text so I can't see nothing! And I can't insert my ID or my password!

Please read this whole message before doing anything. This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it. Step 1 The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.” While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin. Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)? After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it. *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. SharePoint site continues prompting window for Id and Password?

Hi, recently all users facing issue while opening SharePoint 2010 Sites, sites continues prompting window for Id and Password, even after entering information it’s asking.
When I login on server and try to open the site, there was also asking prompt.
And when I added user id’s in Server local administration group then sites are opening and when if I remove user id’s from Server local administration then again starting to ask prompt.
Domain Controller is running fine.
Please tell what is the issue?

Unable to add File Server Resource Manager Tools on Windows Server 2012 - Errors on restart and roll back install

Unable to install Windows Server 2012 Feature - [Tools] File Server Resource Manager Tools.
Installs, however when I restart the server error messages appears saying feature unable to install, windows reverting changes.
In the Setup event logs have the following information message "Update FSRM-Infrastructure of package FSRM-All failed to be turned on. Status: 0x800f0922"
Does anyone have any idea's on why this Feature can not be installed ??

Tried both of your suggestions, however neither strategy worked.
Strategy 1
Tried installing via powershell - "install-windowsfeature -name fs-resource-manager -includemanagementtools"
Feature un-installed itself during the restart.
Attempted to use the command "DISM /online /remove-feature /featurename:FSRM-Infrastructure-Services". However
this did work because one the Service was'nt installed or two because there was no command option for "/remove-feature"
PACKAGE SERVICING COMMANDS:
/Add-Package - Adds packages to the image.
/Remove-Package - Removes packages from the image.
/Enable-Feature - Enables a specific feature in the image.
/Disable-Feature - Disables a specific feature in the image.
/Get-Packages - Displays information about all packages in the image.
/Get-PackageInfo - Displays information about a specific package.
/Get-Features - Displays information about all features in a package.
/Get-FeatureInfo - Displays information about a specific feature.
/Cleanup-Image - Performs cleanup and recovery operations on the image.
Strategy 2

Vba: separate popup windows for messages and reminders?

One of the things I miss, and know that many probably don't, but I do, is the separate popup windows that Outlook used to deploy for reminders and incoming email notifications. They weren't all lumped in together as in recent Outlook versions.
I'm sure this new way works for many people but for power users such as myself, it was much easier to control things when each reminder or notification was separate. Tedious, sure, when there were a lot, but certainly much easier than today's environment,
ultimately.
As I've found and implemented more and more vb, I'm getting back a lot of lost functionality from the past. I went looking and thought I'd found a macro a couple of weeks ago that would do the job but it's actually not turned as I'd hoped. Here
it is, the one that I use for emails from the folks, to give an example; it's invoked through a rule:

The above does sort of give me a separate window popup but it's one that stops everything else in its tracks. I have to accept it before more notifications pop up but they also stop any notifications from Outlook, period, yet don't give me separate
notification popups that can then be snoozed or even just minimized! Not good.
Can anyone suggest something that would help? I recently moved all my reminders that were on a third party application to a secondary calendar that I created in Outlook where I saw, to my delight, that now will fire up reminders - something that wasn't
possible in the past (one tiny good thing we've received in exchange for so much lost functionality from a user standpoint! <g>). It's just now even more difficult to work through everything that is lumped in under one window - And no custom boxes
with different colours or _anything_ to help differentiate them.
So, is there any way, perhaps vb, to have notifications fired from different popup windows somehow, emulating older Outlook versions?

The MsgBox call stops the current thread until it is closed, i.e. the modal form is displayed. But you are interested in a non-modal form which doesn't stop the thread.
You can try to display a user form instead using the Show method.
UserForm1.Show vbModeless
However, it will not let the Outlook running. You need to display the form on another thread, it is possible with add-ins (not VBA). See Modeless
form that still pauses code execution for more information.
So sorry for the delay. I'm still with the same problem so the above was not encouraging. Though we come here to this forum to deal with vba, unlike the old NGs, it seems there are less users and more real developers, which I am not. Just
a power user. And the above is not something I have yet crossed into. It sounds like, but I'm guessing here, that this method requires a form (am I right)? I haven't a clue how to do those yet, if that's the case <sigh>. All I
know is that there are too many emails coming in with no easy way to make sure we don't miss something important.
This answer shows me that this particular approach isn't the solution. This type of message box wasn't ideal, either. Lordy but I miss so many features of Outlook 2000 all the time. All these popups getting launched together is great for
a lot of people, but I'm not one of them.

Adobe Update Server Setup Tool on Windows Server 2012 and IIS 8 ?

can you help me install and configure my internal AUSST on the new server OS provided by Microsoft (Windows Server 2012)?
What should be the parameters required (or mandatory) in IIS 8 (ISAPI Filters, etc ...) ?
What parameters in the installation of IIS should be chosen?
What are the steps necessary to implement this new operating system?

Our enterprise also uses an authenticated proxy, so I've been banging my head to get this working!
I'm surprise to learn of this proxy oversight! This tool has "enterprise" all over the documentation (e.g. AAMEE?). There's good likelihood that other enterprises (still) have proxies in place. Makes me wonder if the CreativeCloud architects had this same proxy-ignorant oversite?

Managing variable sized items for planning and purchase

Dear All,
We have the following situation, kindly help in resolving the same:
Some of the raw materials are variable sized (for example plates). These items come in the Semi-finished/finished BOM as Raw Materials. Now whenver the requirement for SFG/FG is there MRP creates requirement for the variable sized items as well.
We have defined the unit of measure for variable sized items as M2 (meter square). Stock for these items display total area present in the Storage Location. Since these items are cut and used it might be possible that the requirement generated by MRP can be theoretically satisfied against the available stock but cant be practically satisfied against the actual physical stock.
For example in stock we have a sheet of 4m X 5m = 20 M2. The requirement from MRP comes to be 10 M2 but with dimensions 1mX10M. The stock shows available qtty as 20M2, required qtty as 10M2 and hence No PR is generated. But in actual we need to create a PR as dimensions are different.
So to manage this we are giving MRP type of raw materials as ND (No planning). Therefore the system is not creating any PR (even if requirements exceed available stock) it only creates DepReq for the RM. Now we create manual PRs after studying the DepReq. But it seems that it is easy to loose track and difficult to know that for which DepReq the PRs are already created.
Is there any way to relate the manual PRs to the DepReq created by MRP?
If yes, then whenever DepReq will be converted to OrdRes will the above relation still be valid?
Is there any other way of resolving/mapping the above scenario?

We cant maintain separate material codes as the sheet required varies in size and shape. Right now I have come up with the following solution:
1. SAP: Materials which are variable sized will have MRP Type: ND (No Planning)
2. SAP: These items will be in the BOM of FG/SFG with their dimension details
3. SAP: The requirements for the Variable Sized items will be created by the MRP although no planning will be done, i.e. Dependent Requirement against sales order(through FG/SFG) will be created but no PRs/Planned Orders will be generated for these items
4. SAP: List of Requirements in the form of Dependent Requirements and Order reservations can be seen through T-Code MD04.
5. MANUAL: Manual PR is to be created against dependent requirements after checking the quantity and dimensions of the stocks available.
6. MANUAL: Maintain an excel sheet to record the materials and PR numbers created for them with quantity and dimensions. Also keep a record of sales order number from which the requirement has come. Sales order number for a requirement can be viewed through the MD04 T-Code itself. Also the dimensions required can be easily seen by navigating from MD04 to the corresponding production order component list. (Instead of Excel an SAP Table can be developed to maintain the data, the only advantage would be central maintenance of data)
7. For PRs created manually above dimensions will be manually entered in PR as "PO Text".
8. Whenver PRs are created manually the records maintained in point number 6 will have to be checked to avoid duplication of creation of PRs
9. A separate column in excel sheet (refer point 6) can be maintained for the POs created against each PR.
Dependent requirements will automatically be converted to Order Reservations in MD04 view once the Planned order of assembly is converted to a Production Order.
10. Order reservations will automatically be removed from MD04 view once the GI of variable sized material is done to Production Orders.
Do we have a better alternative to this?

I cannot expand (maximize) new windows for forwards and writing new messages

I am using the most recent version of Thunderbird on W7 laptop. When i attempt to forward an email it shows up as being there on the task bar (when you hover the mouse over the TB icon it shows all the new windows), I cannot maximize these new windows. It does the same thing when I try to create a new message. I can see the thumbnail on the task bar but I cannot expand it. It lets me close it, but that's it. I can read emails fine unless I double-click them. It opens the message in a new window but I cannot expand it.
Any ideas?

Do you have the option to activate/ have focus on the window which the mouse is hovering over? I'm thinking that if you have this option selected then the main TB window may stay in focus because that is where the mouse pointer is pointing?
If you click on 'Write' and you see the Write icon in bottom Task Bar, this sounds like the window has opened but it is either:
Not got focus, so it is hidden behind the main thunderbird interface or another opened window.
or it has opened in minimised state, so is not behind other opened windows.

Second Test: Restart Thunderbird in Safe mode.
Help > Restart with Addons disabled
Now test:
click on Write - did Write window open in the front in focus.
If yes then it is likely that an addon is causing a conflict.
You would need to test by gradually enabling addons/extensions until you find the one which is causing the problem.
So, restart thunderbird, then go to Tools > Addons disable all the addons and then enable one at a time to see when the error occurs. This will tell you which Addon is causing the problem.
Maybe the addon needs updating.
Please report back on results.
In both thunderbird Safe mode and normal mode, does Ctrl+N open a new Write window in focus ?

Managing Coherence via JMX for web and non web app

I read your posting on,

and downloaded the jar file.
It works for the web app but not for the server application.
My configuratiion is two weblogic server with two tangosol nodes and two independent tangosol server nodes running in a cluster. That is 4 tangosol cluster are running. The jar file allows me to see only one node that is running on the web logic server. How can I view the other 3 nodes?

Has anyone managed to use Postgres for wiki and local db ?

I've seen all over the internet questions and solutions for:
could not connect to database postgres: could not connect to server: No such file or directory
Is the server running locally and accepting
connections on Unix domain socket "/var/pgsql_socket/.s.PGSQL.5432"?
some of the solutions kind of stop the postgessql server. That is, apparently according to this
post by Todd Heberlein, they stop the wiki and webpage servers but allow for your own db.
Actually I'd like to know if it is possible to have the same postgressql instal (the OS X Server) used for both the wiki\web\etc pages and for our own local db.
If so, how?

Linc, I finally understood what was going on once I read the KB page.
There are already running two different postgress processes on the server.
One is for the server itself and other for our use.
Once I understood that, I could figure out what to do.
As for you, MrHoffman, I assume the page you pointed me to your page. If so, let me know there are some things that are different in ML and I can use what I did to post it there.

One has to look at "/Library/Server/PostgreSQL/Config/com.apple.postgres.plist
and check the listen_address for this file. Set it to 127.0.0.1 and everything works fine

I downloaded microsoft window for mac and it will not open

I purchased a downloadable version of microsoft office for mac from softwarespeedy.com. It downloaded fine but when I try to access any of the applications (word, excel etc) all I get is the spinning color wheel and it bogs everything else. I have to force quit it to stop it.
I have uninstalled it 4x and get the same result. The software company says that it is my computer.
I have a 2008 macbook and I am running Mac OS X version 10.6.8.
Can anyone help?

It's a bit more complicated than that because Office installs files outside of the Applications folder. See the following:
Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS. Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term. Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default. You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder. Usually with the same name as the program or the developer. The item generally has a ".pkg" extension. Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
