Mandatory fields & JHS different behavior for the very same situation
Hi,
There is an issue regarding mandatory fields in a form. Let me put it in this way:
Using this framework, obviously there are two ways for declaring a field as a mandatory one.
Firstly, at model level; checking the mandatory check box in the entity itself and secondly; at view level; one can set the required field in application definition.
The problem is; leaving a mandatory field empty; the user faces two different alert messages_.

Steven,
I can see a little bit of misunderstanding here; the point is that the javascript alert message is
the preferable behavior……And the question is if there is any way that I can change the JHS-level mandatory fields to pop up a javascript error message when left empty.
Thank you so much in advance,
Best Rgrds

Different behavior from the PRE function based on BMRS and WMRS
Hi All,
We are seeing different behavior from the PRE function based on whether the type is Before Modified Record Saved or When Modified Record Saved. Should the PRE function work the same for both as long as there is not a Wait action in the WMRS workflow?
(((PRE('<plTier_ITAG>') <> [<plTier_ITAG>]) AND ([<plTier_ITAG>] = '2 - BA')) AND [<IndexedPick4>] = 'FSCM')
Explaination: The Tier field changes AND now equals Tier 2, AND Application is equal to 'FSCM'
The same expression fires only as designed in BRMS, but in WMRS it fires every time a SR is in Tier 2 and IndexedPick4 = 'FSCM', regardless of whether a change was made to the Tier field.Try changing your syntax around to something like -:
PRE('<plTier_ITAG>') {NOT EQUAL} '2 - BA' AND [<plTier_ITAG>] = '2 - BA' AND [<IndexedPick4>] = 'FSCM'
+i.e. Previous value of Tier is not equal to "2 - BA" and current value of Tier equals "2 - BA" and IndexedPick4 equals "FSCM". Replace {NOT EQUAL} with the appropriate syntax+

CBO generating different plans for the same data in similar Environments
Hi All
I have been trying to compare an SQL from 2 different but similar environments build of the same hardware specs .The issue I am facing is environment A, the query executes in less than 2 minutes with plan mostly showing full table scans and hash join whereas in environment B(problematic), it times out after 2 hours with an error of unable to extend table space . The statistics are up to date in both environments for both tables and indexes . System parameters are exactly similar(default oracle for except for multiblock_read_count ).
Both Environment have same db parameter for db_file_multiblock_read_count(16), optimizer(refer below),hash_area_size (131072),pga_aggregate_target(1G),db_block_size(8192) etc . SREADTIM, MREADTIM, CPUSPEED, MBRC are all null in aux_stats in both environment because workload was never collected i believe.
Attached is details about the SQL with table stats, SQL and index stats my main concern is CBO generating different plans for the similar data and statistics and same hardware and software specs. Is there any thing else I should consider .I generally see environment B being very slow and always plans tend to nested loops and index scan whereas what we really need is a sensible FTS in many cases. One of the very surprising thing is METER_CONFIG_HEADER below which has just 80 blocks of data is being asked for index scan.

Hyperion System 9.3.1 reports taking longer time for the very first time
We are on Hyperion System 9.3.1. The Financial reports are taking longer time (like 2 to 3 minuter) for the very first time for each login. The subsequest reports are does work faster.
The behaviour is same for the Production and Development environments.
All the reporting services have given enough JVM heap size.
FYI, Reporting and Workspace runngin on the same server. Workspace/Reporting are clusted in two servers. HFM app is running on different server. HFM web is on different server. Shared Services is also on running on different server.
Any help would be greately appreciated.
Thanks.The reason they run quicker the subsequent times, is because the data has already been cached in the system.
You could try the usual tricks to speed the report up:
- move items into POV
- have children and parent in the same row
- arrange dimensions in inverse outline order
- remove excessive formatting
- push report calculations back to the data source
We have found that using lots of dynamically calculated members also slows down reports, so try and limit the number of these.
Hope this helps. If not maybe give us an idea of how the report is created to see if other changes could be made. -
Hi.
I have the table inl_allocations with following index:
CREATE INDEX inl_allocations_n1 ON inl_allocations
( ship_header_id ASC,
adjustment_num ASC,
ship_line_id ASC )
When running query below, we have different behaviors for indexes in different DB:
SELECT *
FROM INL_ALLOCATIONS CA, INL_SHIP_LINES_ALL CC
WHERE CC.SHIP_LINE_ID = CA.SHIP_LINE_ID
AND CC.SHIP_HEADER_ID = CA.SHIP_HEADER_ID
1- For DB 1 (11.2.0.1.0) the explain plan for query:
(3) INDEX INDEX FULL SCAN INL.INL_ALLOCATIONS_N1 [Analyzed]
Est. Rows: 33 Cost: 1
2- For DB2 (11.2.0.3.0) the explain plan for query does not use the index INL_ALLOCATIONS_N1, and we have a FULL in table.
(3) TABLE TABLE ACCESS FULL INL.INL_ALLOCATIONS [Analyzed]
(3) Blocks: 13 Est. Rows: 167 of 269 Cost: 5
We would like to know the reason why there are differences between both environments.
Thanks and Regards.many years ago Oracle used to optimize queries with a set of rules that ranked the potential access paths and finally chosed the possible operation with the highest rank. So for two systems with the same DDL Oracle would have generated the same plan. This was the rule based optimizer (RBO) and its shady ghost still dwells somewhere deep in the Oracle code. Since at least Oracle 8i (> 10 years ago) the standard optimization engine is the cost based optimizer (CBO) which uses statistics to generate execution plans: and if the data of your systems is different (or even if the data is identic but its physical order is different and changes the index clustering factor) the CBO can and will generate different plans and use or not use existing indexes.

Do I need a computer to use my ipad for the very first time?
I would like to know if I buy an iPad, shall I need to have a computer to start it for the very first time?
I mean do I need to do plug in or can I start without plug in?The new iPad does not need to be activated using iTunes. You will need a WiFi connection to activate it, but not a computer.
If you are buying an iPad2, if it does not already have iOS 5 on it, then you would need a computer running the latest version of iTunes, -
Which external hard drive should I use/choose as I am setting up Time Machine on my MacBook Pro 15 for the very first time?
Any of these SATA HDDs that are at least the same size as your internal HDD (preferably larger capacity). In addition you will need an enclosure, preferably one with a Firewire as well as a USB connection.

Using different templates for the desktop and phone versions of the same blog
I have a site which was created in Adobe Muse and is hosted on Business Catalyst.
I have created both a desktop and a phone versions of the site.
I want to know how I can integrate the blogs that I currently have on the desktop site with the phone version that I just did, using different templates for the desktop and phone versions of the same blog. This is in order to ensure that visitors to the blogs on the website are directed to the templates that render correctly for the devices they are using.
My current approach has been to create both a desktop and phone versions of the blogs. The problem with this however, is that the dates are different and the comments are separated between the two blog versions!
I have also tried enabling mobile templates in BC, but still couldn't find a way to specify the mobile versions of the templates for the same blog?
To recap my problem, I basically need a solution where the same blog uses different templates for desktop and mobile (both templates use different navigation headings and menu styles)
Thanks.There can be few reason for this, including page contents links or contents used in phone/tablet version.
Please provide the site url , also try to publish the site as a trial site in Business Catalyst with all layouts which would help to isolate the issue.
Thanks,

Reporting Services offers limited support for using AlwaysOn Availability Groups with report server databases. The report server databases can be configured in AG to be part of a replica; however Reporting Services will not automatically use a different
replica for the report server databases when a failover occurs. How to overcome this issue? is there any workaround for that..
RahulHi.
With the AlwaysOn listener you should have a single DNS name to connect to regardless of which cluster node is active. Are you using the listener service? If not, please refer to the link below.

How can i do different colors for the category in business graphics
Hi everybody,
i have a business graphics and i need different colors for the category. my business graphics is a gantt.
for example
category1
category2
category2
and so on.
Is there a solution for this? How can i do it?
Best regards,
MarkusSorry.
In my opinion, this requirement can not be resolved.
Generally, we use Business Graphic with Category, we just follow:
DATA:lr_graph TYPE REF TO cl_wd_business_graphics.
lr_graph = cl_wd_business_graphics=>new_business_graphics(
bind_series_source = 'NODE_DYN'
chart_type = cl_wd_business_graphics=>e_chart_type-BARS
height = 340
width = 750
* BIND_TOOLTIP = 'GRAPH.TT'
id = 'GRAPH' ).
DATA: lr_bgr_cs TYPE REF TO cl_wd_category.
lr_bgr_cs = cl_wd_category=>new_category(
view = wd_this->mr_view
bind_description = 'NODE_DYN.CATEGORY').
lr_graph->set_category( lr_bgr_cs ).
If we go to SE24, to check the class "CL_WD_CATEGORY", we cannot find any method or attribute about how to manipulate the "Category Font Color"...
Maybe,any other expert can give you fantastic solution, hope. Best wishes. -
How do I place an image and insert a different photo for the "mouse down" state?
I have placed an image within an accordian widget and when I select the "mouse down" area in the states dialog box, i click "fill" in the toolbar and insert the photo i want to display when the image is clicked but this image is "covered up" by the originally placed image and is not seen in my states dialog box.
I have done this before when i made rectangles and placed images in rectangles. But i soon realized that you cannot add alternative text to images in rectangles for some frustrating reason.
How do I place and image and have a different image for the mouse down state?Hello,
This effect can only be achieved when you use the images as a Rectangle Fill. And as you mentioned it above, you cannot add alternative text to images because it is added as a fill and not as a image.
I would suggest you to post this as a feature request on our "Ideas for features in Adobe Muse" section of the forums : http://forums.adobe.com/community/muse/ideas

Schedule parallel activities on different resources for the same period
Hi,
I am trying to create a PPM where I need to define parallel activities on different resources for the same time period.
For example:
Input prod: P1
Output prod: O1
Now I define a dummy activity A1 to define this consumption i.e. 1 PC of P1 gives 1 PC of O1.
Now I have got 3 resources R1, R2, R3.
I define 3 activities A2, A3, A4 for these resources.
Now I have to arrange activities A2, A3, A4 such that they start simultaneouly after activity A1 and also end simultaneouly.
The Fixed duration for all the resources is 1 week.
My requirement is that out of these resources system should plan for demand considering the resource with minimum capacity
i.e. kind of bottleneck resource.
I am using CTM engine for planning.
I have defined A1 as predecessor for all the 3 activities A2, A3, A4 and after completion all the activities have a dummy successor activity S.
But this setting is not working and PPM is not getting exploded, If I use a normal linear relationship between activities it works fine but my requirement is not getting satisfied.
Can anyone please help me in this case or suggest some alternate method.
Thanks & Regards,
Sanjog MishrikotkarHi,
You cannot use the old solman key as systems are on different server.
I think you have to delete the old Dev system and then generate new solman key.
Thanks

[JAXB] Several different prefixes for the same namespace
Hi!
I have generated some code from 2 schemas using JAXB. One of them (the main) defines some elements and the other one defines values for those elements. Then, when runring my code, I get an XML document with elements from the main schema an elements from the other one. However, elements from the second schema are qualified with different names. That is:
<party>
<ns3:uid xmlns:ns3="http:/schema1.com/schema1">CN=User1 - RSA/RSA,OU=IAIK,O=TU Graz,C=AT</ns3:uid>
<ns4:role xmlns:ns4="http:/schema1.com/schema1">client</ns4:role>
</party>
As you can see, I get two different prefixes for the same namespace.
Could you be so kind as to tell me if there is a way of getting only one prefix for each namespace, please? Do I have to modify JAXB compiler's properties???
Thanks a lot in advance.No, I don't know how to do that. I also don't think it should matter. Are these multiple prefixes causing you any problems other than offending against Occam's Razor?
