Manual data table population

I have a case where I need to populate a data table manual. There are two columns in the table. One column for a checkbox and one to display a name. How do you do it without binding it to a table?

Also, you can create a helper class with a field for each column.
In the Page Bean you can create a property of type Array
of this helper class then bind this array to the Data Table
from the Table Layout dialog dropdown menu .

DSO activation: Data in new data table but missing in active data table?

we use an end routine in transformation to populate a data field in DSO.
it works as we can see the value populated in new data table.
when we activate (activation) DSO, we see the value is deleted from this data field.
why?
this data field is set as an characteristic info obj in the data field portion of the DSO.
we are using 2004s, I forget to check the SP level.

Syntax
ASSIGN mem_area TO <fs> casting_spec range_spec.
Effect
This statement assigns the memory area specified using mem_area to the field symbol <fs>. You can assign a data object or a memory area calculated from the address of a data object. After the assignment, the field symbol refers to the assigned memory area and can be used in operand positions. When used in a statement, it behaves like a dereferenced data reference, meaning that the statement works with the content of the memory area.
The data type with which the assgigned memory area is treated, depends on the specifications in casting_spec. You can either execute an explicit casting or the field symbol takes on the data type of the data object specified in the assignment. A field symbol to which a memory area is assigned, has this data type after the assignment and behaves like a data object of this type.
The assigned memory area mem_area must be at least as long as the data type specified in casting_spec and must have the same alignment. If the data type determined in casting_spec is deep, the deep components with their type and position must appear in the assigned memory area exactly like this.
Use the specifications in range_spec to restrict the memory area that can be assigned to the field symbol.
You have to assign it back to internal table to modify the content.
Check in debug mode if you have still doubt.

Abap code not working - deleting based on master data table information

I wrote a piece of code earlier which is working and during test we found out that it will be hard for the support guys to maintain because it was hard coded and there is possibility that users will include more code nums in the future
sample code
DELETE it_source WHERE /M/SOURCE EQ 'USA' AND

/MCODENUM NE '0888' AND.
Now I created a new InfoObject master data so that the support people can maintain the source and code number manually.
master data table - the codenum is the key.

now I wrote this routine all the data gets deleted.
tables /M/PGICTABLE.
Data tab like /M/PGICTABLE occurs 0 with header line.
Select * from /M/PGICTABLE into table tab where objvers = 'A'.
if sy-subrc = 0.
LOOP at tab.
DELETE it_source WHERE /M/SOURCE EQ tab-XSOURCE AND /M/CODENUM NE tab-XCODENUM.
ENDLOOP.

But when I chage the sign to EQ, I get opposite values , Not what I require.
DELETE it_source WHERE /M/SOURCE EQ tab-XSOURCE AND /M/CODENUM EQ tab-XCODENUM.

Weird problem with mysql query and data table buttons !!!!

You'll find that it is more to do with the way MySql deals with dates than anything else! Depending on how your date field is setup, then try using a BETWEEN statement for those 2 lines in your first query e.g.
AND ( tbl_tesserati.data_nascita BETWEEN ? AND ?)
The date column needs to be in the ISO format to work. If you examine your second query output, you might discover that the output is only going to refer to one parameter (probably the OR one). Did you manage to view the output logs from the application server? You would have got an idea from there with a message like stating a conversion error'.
Alternatively, you could try using the to_days() function and convert it directly to a number which would be a lot easier to deal with. For example:
AND to_days(tbl_tesserati.data_nascita >= ? )
AND to_days( tbl_tesserati.data_nascita<= ? )
Or try the BETWEEN version with to_days() and see what you get.

Before I forget, sometimes you may need to treat dates as Strings rather 'Long' as you did.
As a matter of interest, did you try your query in a different piece of software?
If my queries are a little more complicated, I tend to try MySql queries out in the free MySql query browser and also double check in another to verify certain issues. I found it easier to develop SQL in a seperate program then import the final version to JSC making the required modifications for parameters.

Data is not Loading into Active data table on DSO in BI 7.0

Iam loading data from a flat file to ODS in BI 7.0, the data is loading up to PSA and New data table , But the DSO is not activating, after all possible steps like, automatically setting/ manualy doing / through Process Chain....still unable to do it....Cud u pls tell the reason and solution.

We are also running on the same boat, I am using the End-Routine to fill up the 2 fields (one is Key figure and Characteristics) from one DSO to the other. In my case along with all other fields this key figure is also populating before and after the Activation of DSO. But the new Characteristics is populating in the update table (/BIC/A***40) before activating the DSO, once I activated the DSO the new characteristics is not filling up in the (/BIC/A***00), rest are coming without issues.
I built the same logic for other current data DSO (write optimized) from other DSO to fill the same fields with the similar logic in the end routine, it is up and running without any issues.

Spry select list code to wire it to html data table SET column?

I am making a page based on Figure 15-14, Pg 878, in David Power's book, "Dw CS4 with CSS, Ajax and PHP. I have two separate html data tables hidden in the page, one for the specialties drop down select list and the other for the teachers master/detail regions. These are populated with php and working well. The spry select list and master/detail regions are working great except for one issue. The column in my html data table that is being filtered ("Specialty" in my code = 'Category' in the book's example code) is a SET column (with possible value of 1, 2, 3, 4, and/or 5). Clicking on the drop down menu brings up the records with a single value beautifully. The result for records with multiple values is a spry error "Invalid row number: 0". After four different versionings and methods of messing with this, I still haven't a clue. Please help me with how to rewire the Spry select list code so that it will read the records that have multiple items in that column. I have included the code below.

Well I'll be damned!
What's done in the sample app is, of course, the intuitively obvious choice and is exactly what I started out trying to do the first time round.
But as I mentioned before, when I first tried it (yes: I'm pretty sure I set the "for" attribute on the inlineMessage components), I got the non-unique component id exception for the inlineMessage component(s) after adding the second (but not the first) row to the page.
Anyway, after dragging my inlineMessages to the exact same position as those in the AppModel example, now things work fine (except I think I'd like a line break before the message and to change the row/column styles so the values and messages line up properly...the look is rather ugly in the AppModel example when there are validation messages displayed).
Not sure, but I'm thinking maybe there was an issue with where the inline message markup was placed, my first time through, relative to the data table value bound component and the column header facet?
I was using the application view drag 'n drop feature the first time round and dragged the inlineMessage component to the spot just below the data table value bound component and hence just above the column header facet. In the AppModel example, OTOH, the inline messages are placed just after the column header facet.
Of course, I will now try to duplicate the original exception.
If I can (and it is an issue with placement), I will post back some sort of bug report or RFE. Otherwise, I'll post back declaring what a bone head I've been...;-)

How to use selectOneList in a updateable data table column

Hi,
Could someone tell me how to use selectOneList (source from a vo X) in an updateable data table column (from another vo Y)?
I successfully created a page with the data table. However, strange things happened:
1) the values populated on the selectOneList column don't match the underlying value in vo Y. in fact, every rows in the column got the same value.
2) when I update one of the rows, the column value in every other rows turns to the new value.
3) when I sort other columns in the table, the values shown in the selectOneList column get toggled between blank and some incorrect value.
I believe it is something related to the fact that the same iterator is used to the source view object. If this is the case, how can I solve it?

1. Created a custom table
2. Created an EO based on the table
3. Created a VO associated with the EO.
4. Created AM and associated the VO with it.
5. Created page and associated it with the AM.

How to link label with an input field in data table?

I am curious if there is a nice way to link a label to input field in a data table directly in JSP? Data filling the table are dynamically bounded.
Sample, simplified code below. Values of "label" property are unique in the collection binded to dataTable.

DSO New data table rejects data

Dear SDNers,
I have a critical issue.
I am loading data into a DSO (which has end routine, lookup DSO of 2crore records in production)
In development, it worked good.
In Production it took very long time to load data. I initially thought it might be because of the lookup DSO. But it never loaded the data into new data table. The data load monitor results in yellow always.
I used filter in DTP and loaded only limited data. But this also not loading data. The data load monitor results in yellow again.
Then I found that i am unable to access the new data table's data browser (from manage).
I checked with se11 also, I am able to see the table. But if I click contents, the system hangs.
So what I observe is New data table is not allowing to post any new entries?
Kindly give me some insight regarding solving this issue.

I didnt say as i am able to see data in change log. I said I am able to access the data browser of both Active and change log table.
and @Saveen, I donot want to load data manually to new data table.
To be Precise i ll answer pransanth questions here..
What is the status of the load in the monitor screen. Yellow (still running)
Is the load completed or not? what is the record count? No the load is not completing.
Is the request active in the DSo and available for reporting? Request is active
Are you facing this issue for the first time? Yes for the first time and only in this DSO.
Are you sure you have authorizations to check the data through manage screen, try to run the Authorization trace on your id and check if the roles are there for your id or not? Yes, I am able to see active data table, change log etcc. even new table of other DSOs. Only new table of this DSO is inaccessible from manage
See, I used filter in DTP, so it ll bring only limited records from lookup DSO. So no issue with the performance deadlock.
And again I simulated the load and saw, Result package gets filled up perfectly, So the code also works fine.
but if I load the data itll be yellow status with no records added in new table.
In this scenario, New table is inaccesible from manage, So I am pretty sure that both are interrelated issues.

Field not being updated in Master Data table

Hi guys,
I'm pulling data from master data in BW... specifically 0ven_compc. I haven't added any new fields to this maser data table, and one field that I'm trying to pull is not being populated. In the master data table this field is blank, but in the PSA there are values. Somehow the values are not being loaded into the master data table. I've checked the transfer rules and communication structure and everything looks fine. Why is this happening?

Hi Anthony,
The problem may be that there is an inconsistency with the target master data infoobject. Please make a dummy change to the target infoobject (i.e you can change the description), save this change and then click on the activate icon. Please then check if the field is filled with the next load.
If the problem still exists please let us know your BI version and support package level.

Help with data table

I am a new user of LookoutDirect and as luck would have it I need to
use a Data Table. I have spent the better part of a month tying
to get it setup. I found an example on this website which does
exactly what I want to do and still can't get it figured out.
There just seems to be some things that are not explained in any of the
manuals. I think I have it worked down to a few very specific
questions. I have most of my application going but this data
table has me by the throat. Should I just post the questions on
here or try to get hooked up with someone to assist me?

Stock Item Release Date not populated in Webtools

I am looking to alert Online purchases of products that are shown in webtools ( i.e. Active = 'Y') that are not immediately available at a date in the future.
It is not possible to use the Valid From Date because this controls the initial visibility of the item in webtools.
There is a UDF inserted by the Plugin ( I think ) Call ed Release date, however populating this field does not cause the 'ReleaseDate' field in PartsMaster Table to be updated.
Assuming this can be achieved can someone advise briefly as to how this data can be populated on the relevant aspx page(s)

That's interesting what exactly do you mean by batch job? I presume some scheduled stored procedure with a update clause. Up until now I had thought that synch plugin was the only solution and hadn't tried writing my own yet but given the two SQL servers have to be able to communicate with each other why or exactly when would a batch job not be practical for this sort of thing. Is this only really appropriate for uni-directional updates ( i.e. B1 to WT )?
Or am I missing something here?

Changes to master data objects must be captured for the For compliance purposes. The auditor allows you to be able to view and print an audit log of changes to master data objects for a chosen period. It is very common for external auditors to focus on what has changed from one year or quarter to the next to help determine the nature, extent, and population for testing. To configure and access your audit log, perform the actions listed with each of the following utilities.
Audit Trail is used to track the record changes.
The report RPUAUD00 gives all the changes done to the masterdata by any user anytime.
But, before using this audit trial, please ensure that the system hardware is well equipped as the audit trials activation would later become a performance issue as this would occupy a lot of space in the coming time.
