DSO activation: Data in new data table but missing in active data table?

we use an end routine in transformation to populate a data field in DSO.
it works as we can see the value populated in new data table.
when we activate (activation) DSO, we see the value is deleted from this data field.
why?
this data field is set as an characteristic info obj in the data field portion of the DSO.
we are using 2004s, I forget to check the SP level.

Why don't you try any another software for opening CSV files then Notepad ? According to my experience, you can use these softwares to open an CSV files and they are:-
Microsoft Excel
Open Office Calc
Google Docs
Also there is an additional tool available known as CSV viewer. You may try this, download it from here http://www.csvviewer.com/
I've never used Notepad for opening CSV files, because sometimes it contains some symbols which are not not at all compatibile with Notepad.

Are you getting any error message or other data that helps to understand why the SR # is not working? Sometimes when entering a serial number a letter or number is entered incorrectly because a 1 looks like an l or an s looks like a 5. Make certain that this type of an entry error is not your problem.

Data exists in DSO New table but not in Active table

Guys,
I am loading data from one DSO to another DSO, in my target DSO I have 6 fields which 2 of them are mapped in Transformation and remaining 4 will be populated by Start routine and End routines. Before Activating I am seeing all 6 fields got populated in New data table but after activating I am only seeing the 2 fields in Active data table but not those that are populated through Start and End rouitnes.
I have only one Key in my DSO, am I missing something here?please let me know.

Hi,
beside end routine, there will be one icon.
click on that.
you will see two options.
select the option "populate values into fields with out active transformation rules"
don't remember the words correctly but gives the same meaning...
Activate the transformation.
this will solve your problem

Dates Appearing in Tabular Model but not appearing on Pivot table

I am using SSAS tabular Model 2012, in tabular model all dates are appearing correct in date column but not when i drag attribute to my pivot table it shows only one date. Does anyone has the solution of this issue.

According to your description, you have date column displayed all dates correctly in Tabualr. When showing in a Excel Pivot table, it only get the first date. Right?
In this scenario, firstly please check the source table data in database, then make sure the data type of this column is Date in Tabualr. In Excel, please make sure there's no aggregation setting on this field. As I tested in our local environment, it should
display same thing in tabular.
If the issue still persists, please share some information about your date table so that we have some deep analysis.

Dates Greater Than, Less Than, but what about the dates between?

This is what my data looks like.

I need to know how many employees I have working on any given day.
The table below shows the dates across the top, and the data in the cells represents the total number of workers on any given date.

FYI: This report does not contain any prompts. It just shows me the next 6 days.
I was trying something like this but without any success: Create a column
CASE WHEN current_date > "StartWork" AND current_date < "EndsWork" THEN '1' WHEN (current_date+1) > "StartWork" AND (current_date+1) < "EndsWork" THEN '2'
and so on, then just use the column to sort the rows. I can use some count function later to finish it.

Create three date dimensions, Join first date dimension (d1) with Start Date, join second date dimension (d2) with End date, create a dummy join (1=1) with 3rd date dimension.
On the report or in PRD create a measure as follows.
CASE WHEN D3.Date <= d2.Date and D3.Date >= D1.Date then 1 ELSE 0 END

Log Miner is finding DDL for "new" tables, but also DML for "older" tables.

oracle 10.2.0.5.0 Standard Edition
(at some point in the past it was "downgraded" from enterprise edition).
It's making me crazy, i create a table then insert/update rows. Log miner only shows me the create.
However, if i do insert/update on an "older" table, i see the DML. The tables are in the same tablespace, both logging, and the database is forcing logging.
I'm out of ideas, and input would be appreciated.

apparently this is an issue with the database configuration and not log miner. I ran the same test against the prodcution database and got both the DDL and DML. I used exactly the same test script including the logminer "setup" , obviously changing the name of the log files and the name of a directory.

I want to create a mail merge for address labels into a table, but when I fill a table with merge fields, it ends up creating multiple entries for the same address, rather than one table full of each address.

That is a quirk of Pagesthat it applies only one record per page.

Date format accepted in new table but not in active table for DSO, BI 7.0

Hi All,
Need help from the experts, i was trying to load Flate file data in CSV(Coma separated) and cell type general for dates(yyyymmdd). everything was fine i have a routine for new fields in DSO for Fiscal week and Fiscal Quater which is calculating based on my Flate file date i.e delivery date(yyyymmdd).
The New table of DSO means before activation everything was fine and all the logics and mappings working for the Fiscal week and Fiscal Quater and that can be visible, But after activation the same only the Fiscal week and Fiscal Quater is not showing data, its comming as blank and '000000' for all records.
As the Fiscal week and Fiscal Quater is maintained as custmised InfoObject with data type NUM.
Can you tell what i am missing, because i tried with different cell type also in CSV File.

Upgrading to new MacBook Pro but want to keep date added

Hi Guys,
My 2008 MBP is coming to the end of its life (that or I just want a new one!) and I want to a new MBP. However I'm a DJ a rely heavily on my itunes library, the biggest feature being the date added column and then secondly playlists. Could someone tell me how I can migrate my Itunes library to the new MacBook keeping the date added (and ideally all other data including playlists, tags, ratings) all in tact?

Yes, everything will be the same. Just make sure you take the folder named iTunes and drop it into ~/Music. When you launch iTunes it will all be there.

Data loaded successfully in RSA3, but can not find data in BW PSA

Dear all:
We have custom datasource enhanced through BADI. For one column, in the source system RSA3, I can see this field populated with data, but in BW, when I load the data in PSA and check, this field is blank...
I tried seeral ways like re-replicate datasource, delete the datasource in BW and re-replicate, but not work.
Did anybody meet the same situation before? How to handle this issue?
Any post would be appreciated and thank you all in advance!

I don't have any selection field for this datasource, and the number between ECC and BW matches. Actually the problem is only for one field, on ECC side RSA3, this field are populated with values, while in BW PSA, this column is there, but all the content are blank.

Lost data on my iMac Cal, but iPad has the data.

I was fiddling around with email reminders on my iMac desktop, as you do...
To enable email reminders,I had to add iCal to iCloud, which I did.
Upon sync'ing, it reverted all my calendars to the last save, which was a couple of weeks ago. I have made a fair few changes since then.
However, my iPad has all the correct data still on it
But iTunes is set to replace data on the iPad calendars with data on the desktop. I need to reverse this but the sync starts immediately upon connection of the iPad to the desktop and there's no "Stop Sync" button.
How do I replace the desktop data with the iPad data of iCal? I cant see any way of exporting the iPad data either.

Well, I solved the problem.
For any others with the same problem, this is what I did.
Connected iPad to Ddesktop and held down the apple/option keys to stop the auto sync
Went to iCal on the desktop and deleted all calendars.
In iTunes I ticked the "sync all calendars" in info whilst making sure that "Replace information on this iPad"
I, for some reason lost a couple of appts for the current day and had a couple of duplicate appts occur, but it was fairly painless.
So, good news.

I have line charts in Webi Report. The report generated sql has data when i run at back end but if i run the webi report i couldn't data and see as Query 1 does not have have the data. May i know the reason for this pls ?

Hi Sai,
If you are getting data at back end not in reports then then possibly there can be several reasons
1. Check for query properties:
at Query level click refresh and check whether you are able to see some results:
If not then there might be a filter at universe level or if yes then check if there are any filter at report level.

Master Data is NOT Loaded correctly, but PSA has correct data

Hi all,
    We have transported the Master Data Attribute 0CPR_PROJEC (cProjects: Project) from DEV to QA system. There is no problem with data in DEV, but we are having the problems in QA.
    In QA, the data is BLANK for couple of Attributes (RSA1 --> Right Click --> Maintain Master Data), but these Attributes are having the data in PSA level.
    We have verified the Transfer Rules & Update Rules and these are same in DEV and QA.
   What could be the problem, PLEASE?
