MANUAL ERROR!

Syntax error on the manual of installing "BI Catalog" when putting the prompot command; the prompt command described on the manual is:
bi_installcatalog <user> <password> [servicename]| [-h <host_name> -po <port_id> Sid<Sid>][-j oci8|thin] [-ts system_tablespace] [-ti index_tablespace] [-ta attributes_tablespace1;a_t2;..;a_tn] [-tc clob_tablespace1;c_t2;..;c_tn] [-v(erbose)]
The Error is: -sid and not Sid, the riht command is:
Syntax:
bi_installcatalog <user> <password> [servicename]| [-h <host_name> -po <port_id> -sid<Sid>][-j oci8|thin] [-ts system_tablespace] [-ti index_tablespace] [-ta attributes_tablespace1;a_t2;..;a_tn] [-tc clob_tablespace1;c_t2;..;c_tn] [-v(erbose)]

this requirement is usually controlled using business process
use transaction CJ30 to enter original budget with some text
then set lock budget status on WBS using user status - this means no one change original budget
now use CJ37/CJ38 to supplement  / return budget - always use text to enter why you have supplemented or returned budget
there are budget update reports that can be then run to find the current budget = original +/- supplement/return
you can also run CJI8 and see the text to understand why the changes were made
If you have not used the above process then CJ3A is the only option you have to see the detailed document

I need to Insert error message into the log of SM35 session.
    1. I have created a BDC that creates a session in SM35.
    2. The session is scheduled daily and gets executed automatically.
    3. there is a scenario where the session should be stopped manually with a error message.
the system doesnt generate any error automatically for that scenario
can any one pls tell me whether its possible to put a manual error into SM35 session log ?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Santhosini

    Hi,
    There's a few ways you could do this;
Construct your message first (i.e. combine the message text and variables into one string, then move this into the table)
    or
Don't store the text, instead store the message ID, number and variable parts of the message.  This has the advantage if you're running a multi-language system the log can be used by users of different languages.

  • Error ORA-02289: sequence does not exist

While I was practicing chapter 6 a book on "hands-on oracle database 10 g express edition for windows" by Mr. Bobrowski forwarded by tom kyte, I like to be one those as well, lol, the living legend of oracle technology <page 225-226> , I got the following error while trying to insert the data manually
error ORA-02289: sequence does not exist
I also checked the sequence, it does exist ,
    host-ids, db-ids, ap-ids all do exists
I am wondering my OS windows xp and however, I have entered AIX in host OS field and 5.2.0.0 in the hostos_version field and cpu=4
I kind do not understand this too since my pc running windows xp
any help would be appreciated since i couldn't go forward in my practice.
I e-mailed the author of the book (oracle Press) but no-reply so far, well I can understand that there is no money.

Basically, I copied everything from the cd-rom provided in the book of this author steve, oracle press. I logged on using my account <system> and password. The user is here only one which is <system>.
Everything was working well, until then as per the direction in the chapters upto 1- to mid 6, this is the first time I am stuck in following this book's simple excercises. It also asks me to look at the object if the sequence host_ids does exists in the drop down combo, as a matter of fact it does exist.
I am still wondering my question "my OS windows xp and however, I have entered AIX in host _OS field and 5.2.0.0 in the host_os_version field and cpu=4
I kind do not understand this too since my pc running windows xp "

    Hi,
I have implemented SAP Note 1531799, but it hasn't resolved the current issue.
For Our GTS instance, there are 2 Feeder Systems (ECC) attached, but document transfer in one of the system has not been activated. Both having the same partner functions ( We copied the sandbox into 2 different instances for different business Testings and now these 2 instances attached to GTS for testing). These feeder systems have different Logical system names and Logical system groups.
Recently i have implemented SAP Corrections manually for one the issue, Please see below thread for the detail information

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Vendor down payment process at the time final  payment

    Hi all
MY scenario I posted in F-48 down payment of Rs 50000 and assigned invoice for Rs 89000 in F-54. While clearing I entered Rs 50000 against the Down Payment and posted. Now I am posting payment for the balance amount i.e. Rs 39000 in F-58. I see that while selecting the Process Open Items, I am unable to find Rs 39000 in the list. Instead I am finding Rs 50000 and Rs 89000 in the list. If I am not remembering the document number for Rs 50000 I am unable to select the correct item and clear against Rs 89000. I wonder how do I identify in case there are more than 2 items with same amount Rs 50000 if I don't have the correct document number handy. This will lead to manual errors in companies where there are huge volume of transactions. I want to avoid manual errors of selecting wrong item and clearing them against correct Invoice.
Kindly suggest how to avoid these errors in the second scenario.
    Regards
    Jay

    Hi
Sorry for late reply.. when settling the final payment against this invoice you are right you will see both D-PMT and the original invoices amount .. but you can for sure know the invoice and the right assigned D-PMT by adding columns Invoice reference in FBL1N
in FBL1N you will add it by change layout .

  • CIN: Excise invoice accounting document is incorrect - MIGO

    Dear All,
In MIGO, the Material document has two items (both are Consumables with the same chapter ID) for which the excise invoice has been posted successfully. The RG23C Part 2 register is updated correctly.
But the accounting document so created has postings for only the second item. The posting for the first item is missing.
We have checked for the settings for 'Multiple goods receipt, Multiple credits' in Plant Settings and also in Excise Registration which is set.
Both the items in the Material document have the same tax code.
We have checked for the excise GL accounts.
The Excise GL accounts have been configured to GRPO
We have also checked the J_1IPART2 table. and the accounting document updated with BED, AED, ECS and SeCEss amounts are correct.
But what puzzles me is, when we check the accounting document in FB03, it has postings for only one item.
We have checked the configurations and everything seems fine. We have simulated this situation in Quality system and it works fine, i.e .the accounting document has postings for both the items. Problem here looks like, itu2019s a manual error. Since all the tables are updated, and only the accounting part is missing, is it ok, if we create a manual accounting document?
    Can you please suggest?
    Many thanks in advance
    Vinod P

You are saying materials are consumables and registered in RG23C.  This register is for Captial goods and not for consumables.  I think it could be RG23A.  check once again.
Check J1ID for both materials and compare.  I am sure some of the details were missed here.  Even blank field will not allow to post

  • Excise Invoice output

    Hi Experts,
If you could please lead me in this scenario.
I have created an output type Z001 for which I have maintained VV31.
In the Commercial Invoice it is rightly appearing with all the requirements.
But when I am refferencing the same Invoice to the Excise Invoice, in J1IP it is picking a separate output type J1I0. Now I am manually changing J1I0 to Z001 and proceeding for print. And it is working fine.
Is there any way by which the EXCISE INVOICE should pick the output type assigned to the Commercial Invoice / Proforma Invoice (JEX) automatically?
Like in my case I want the system to pick Z001 output type automatically , instead of J1IO and I need not change it manually.
So, that manual errors and end user dependency can be avoided.
    Please help...

    Hi,
Which out put is triggered in the document is controled by the condition record that you have maintained for the customer. Please maintain the correct condition master record for the customer. Then it will automatically detemined.

  • How to delete the structure created from Tx: EEWB ?

    Hi SAP Guru’s
I have an issue at hand. I have added three components in the structure <b>BUS000___I</b> and the components are <b>ZZ1, ZZ2, ZZ3</b>, I was following the <b>EEWB</b> wizard and from there these three components were made, now I cannot delete these components directly from <b>SE11</b>. Because after adding these components the system is not allowing me to do so and is asking for the access code.
I am getting a syntax error in all the tx where <b>Business Partner</b> is used. No old versions for this structure was found in the system. The only structure that has come into this BP structure is <b>ZBSTC0000000000</b> followed by three data elements of this structure.
I know the <b>Project and the enhancement</b> that was created and I have tried deleting the enhancement from EEWB but when i try deleting it, it always fall into an intermediate stage where it leaves some entries and due to these left over entries these errors are coming.
Another imp thing is that the structure that i have reported is a newly created one I cannot find this anywhere else. looks like this structure was created after executing the EEWB transaction only.
Now when I try activating the enhancement again the <b>magic wand button</b> used to activate an enhancement and the <b>generate button</b> is also inactive in EEWB and now it is not getting activated, even after rt click enhancement then clicking change or by clicking on the edit-change button on the top tool bar. Do you think if I create another enhancement this button might get activated?
Please let me know how do I delete these components.
    Kindly reply at the earliest.

  • My laptop crashed. I have the disk (intact). How do I find and move the inbox files (not local folders) of my three pop3 accounts to the new laptop?

Old laptop had Thunderbird. THe laptop stopped working, so I took the C drive (SATA disk) and and plugged that to a USB port.
New laptop has Thunderbird installed, local folders have been restored. The inbox contents are missing (I use the option "download from server", so the recent correspondence is there.
I have three POP3 accounts, so I am trying to identify the location of three separate "inbox" and "Sent" folders, and add them to the new installation.
Where are those files stored, and what would be the simple way to restore them on the new laptop?

So this seemed to result in the outcome I wanted:
    - Find the old Thunderbird profile location (.../AppData/Roaming ... THunderbird/Profiles/...default/Mail/first.account.domain/Inbox
    - FInd the same location on the New laptop
Copy the first (old, backup) inbox to a new file in the New profile folder; I did Inbox.bak
Start TBird - and lo and behold, I have folders "Inbox" (recent mail since the old laptop crash) and "Inbox.bak" (the mail I thought was lost).
Looks like I need to add all accounts to the New TBird first so that it creates the profiles, and after that copy the backup Inbox & Sent files to the new profile folders.
This worked for me. Not very elegant, with several manual steps, but end result is what I needed.
It would be great if there was a smoother way for disaster recovery.
And yes, I should have had better backup policy in place. For everyone's benefit - I do Data Center systems for a living, and have seen far too many "backup" services which do not actually work in a restore situation. That's why my personal backups are direct file copies on large disks. It works, but leaves room for manual error, which is what happened here.
Actual folders, btw, I keep where I see them - "c:\users\username\Thunderbird" - for this very reason.

  • Do you trust the SAP standard rule set ?

    Hello all,
I have the impression that, too often, the SAP standard ruleset has been taken for granted : upload, generate and use. Here is a post as to why not to do so. Hopefuly, this will generate a interesting discussion.
As I have previously stated in other threads, you should be very careful accepting the SAP standard rule set without reviewing it first. Before accepting it, you should ensure that your specific SAP environment has been reflected in the functions. The 2 following questions deal with this topic :
    1. what is your SAP release  ? ---> 46C is different than ECC 6.0 in terms of permissions to be included in the function permission tab. With every SAP release, new authorization objects are linked to SAP standard tcodes. Subsequently some AUTHORITY-CHECK statements have been adapted in the ABAP behind the transaction code. So, other authorizations need to provided from an implementation point of view (PFCG). And thus, from an audit perspective (GRC-CC), other settings are due when filtering users' access rights in search for who can do what in SAP.
    2. what are your customizing settings and master data settings ? --> depending on these answers you will have to (de)activate certain permissions in your functions. Eg. are authorization groups for posting periods, business areas, material types, ... being used ? If this is not required in the SAP system and if activated in SAP GRC function, then you filter down your results too hard, thereby leaving certain users out of the audit report while in reality they can actually execute the corresponding SAP functionality --> risk for false negatives !
Do not forget that the SAP standard ruleset is only an import of SU24 settings of - probably - a Walldorf system. That's the reason SAP states that the delivered rule set is a starting point.
So, the best practice is :
    a. collect SAP specific settings per connector in a separate 'questionnaire' document, preferably structured in a database
    b. reflect these answers per function per connector per action per permission by correctly (de)activating the corresponding permissions for all affected functions
You can imagine that this is a time-consuming process due to the amount of work and the slow interaction with the Java web-based GRC GUI. Therefore, it is a quite cumbersome and at times error-prone activity ...... That is, in case you would decide to implement your questionnaire answers manually. There are of course software providers on the market that can develop and maintain your functions in an off-line application and generate your rule set so that you can upload it directly in SAP GRC. In this example such software providers are particularly interesting, because your questionnaire answers are structurally stored and reflected in the functions. Any change now or in the future can be mass-reflected in all (hundreds / thousands of) corresponding permissions in the functions. Time-saving and consistent !
Is this questionnaire really necessary ? Can't I just activate all permissions in every function ? Certainly not, because that would - and here is the main problem - filter too much users out of your audit results because the filter is too stringent. This practice would lead too false negatives, something that auditors do not like.
Can't I just update all my functions based on my particular SU24 settings ? (by the way, if you don't know what SU24 settings are, than ask your role administrator. He/she should know. ) Yes, if you think they are on target, yes you can by deleting all VIRSA_CC_FUNCPRM entries from the Rules.txt export of the SAP standard rule set, re-upload, go for every function into change mode so that the new permissions are imported based on your SU24 settings. Also, very cumbersome and with the absolute condition that you SU24 are maintained excellent.
Why is that so important ? Imagine F_BKPF_GSB the auth object to check on auth groups on business areas within accounting documents. Most role administrator will leave this object on Check/Maintain in the SU24 settings. This means that the object will be imported in the role when - for example - FB01 has been added in the menu.  But the role administrator inactivates the object in the role. Still no problem, because user doesn't need it, since auth groups on business areas are not being used. However, having this SU24 will result in an activated F_BKPF_GSB permission in your GRC function. So, SAP GRC will filter down on those users who have F_BKPF_GSB, which will lead to false negatives.
Haven't you noticed that SAP has deactivated quite a lot of permissions, including F_BKPF_GSB ? Now, you see why. But they go too far at times and even incorrect. Example : go ahead and look deeper into function AP02. There, you will see for FB01 that two permissions have been activated. F_BKPF_BEK and F_BKPF_KOA.  The very basic authorizations needed to be able to post FI document are F_BKPF_BUK and F_BKPF_KOA.  That's F_BKPF_BUK .... not F_BKPF_BEK. They have made a mistake here. F_BKPF_BEK is an optional  auth object (as with F_BKPF_GSB) to check on vendor account auth groups.
Again, the message is : be very critical when looking at the SAP standard rule set. So, test thoroughly. And if your not sure, leave the job to a specialized firm.
    Success !

    Sam and everyone,
Sam brings up some good points on the delivered ruleset.  Please keep in mind; however, that SAP has always stated that the delivered ruleset is a starting point.  This is brought up in sap note 986996     Best Practice for SAP CC Rules and Risks.  I completely agree with him that no company should just use the supplied rules without doing a full evaluation of their risk and control environment.
I'll try to address each area that Sam brings up:
    1.  Regarding the issue with differences of auth objects between versions, the SAP delivered rulset is not meant to be version specific.  We therefore provide rules with the lowest common denominator when it comes to auth object settings.
The rules were created on a 4.6c system, with the exception of transactions that only exist in higher versions.
The underlying assumption is that we want to ensure the rules do not have any false negatives.  This means that we purposely activate the fewest auth objects required in order to execute the transaction.
If new or different auth object settings come into play in the higher releases and you feel this results in false positives (conflicts that show that don't really exist), then you can adjust the rules to add these auth objects to the rules.
Again, our assumption is that the delivered ruleset should err on the side of showing too many conflicts which can be further filtered by the customer, versus excluding users that should be reported.
    2.  For the customizing settings, as per above, we strive to deliver rules that are base level rules that are applicable for everyone.  This is why we deliver only the core auth objects in our rules and not all.  A example is ME21N.
If you look at SU24 in an ECC6 system, ME21N has 4 auth objects set as check/maintain.  However, in the rules we only enable one of the object, M_BEST_BSA.  This is to prevent false negatives.
    3.  Sam is absolutely right that the delivered auth object settings for FB01 have a mistake.  The correct auth object should be F_BKPF_BUK and not F_BKPF_BEK.  This was a manual error on my part.  I've added this to a listing to correct in future versions of the rules.
    4.  Since late 2006, 4 updates have been made to the rules to correct known issues as well as expand the ruleset as needed.  See the sap notes below as well as posting Compliance Calibrator - Q2 2008 Rule Update from July 22.

    5.  SAP is constantly working to improve our rulesets as we know there are areas where the rules can be improved.  See my earlier post called Request for participants for an Access Control Rule mini-council from January 28, 2008.  A rule mini-council is in place and I welcome anyone who is interested in joining to contact me at the information provided in that post.
    6.  Finally, the document on the BPX location below has a good overview of how companies should review the rules and customize them to their control and risk environment:
