Many .sda files required,EDI,Seeburger?

hi,
do we need to create .sda files using Seeburger BIC Mapper for each mapping and deploy each <b>.sda</b> file on to XI server using SDM?

Hi Babu,
Let me tell you the step by step process of SDA creation and deployment.
1) Go to BIC Mapping designer tool
2) Create the maps of needed documents(For example if we know that we will be needed EDI 850, 810,855 etc transactions then we need to add E2X(EDI To XML) and X2E (XML to EDI  maps in a project
3) Select that project folder
4)Right click on it
5)Create deployment (SDA) file.
6)Default name of the created SDA file is "Mapping_User.sda"
7)Deploy this .sda in to the J2EE side of XI server using SDM.
Now if you anticipate that you have to add some aditional EDI maps for transtions other then the one covered in the earlier SDA file ::
1) Add the new maps in the old project.
2) Create the new SDA file
3) Again name of the created SDA file is "Mapping_User.sda"
4) deploy this new SDA file.
5) It will over write the existing "Mapping_User.sda" .
Hope i have answered your question
Let me know if you need any further clarifications.

  • Many .sda files &Encryption Seeburger,EDI

    HI,
do we need to create many .sda files if we want to do mapping for different partners ,if the each vendor EDI documents is different?and do we need to deploy each sda file that who have created for each partner?
and how can we achieve encryption and decryptoin seeburger adapters?
    Babu

    Hi Babu,
You have to create only one SDA file for all the EDI maps, every time you have to add some new maps, for new trade Partners then you have to take the existing Project in BIC mapping designer tool, add new messages and maps in that, create new SDA (Name of the SDA will always remain same). And deploy it to the J2ee with SDM, it will over write the current SDA.
For encryption you have to set the parameters in BIC spoke unit(on Trade Partner’s sdie) and also in AS2 sender/ receiver adapter

    Hi
Check that your connection hostname, port & pwd is correct. Try with admin pwd.
In SDM, SDM Repository page, after selecting the file, the same page select third option (i.e update deployed SCA/SDA that have any versions)
    Hope it helps you

  • Get the BICMD file from SDA file

    Hi Experts,
When we want to deploy the seeburger mappings from the Mapping Designer, we will generate the SDA file from BICMD file.
Is there any way, to regenerate the BICMD file from the SDA file?
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Ravi Kanth Talagana

    Hi Ravi,
    Certain options :
    1)
Mappings that are generated from BIC MD is used to create XML/EDI Files corresponding to the mapping that u r going to used.U can also modify standard mappings by making a new project in BIC MD.After this, this BIC MD creates SDA files which u have to deploy on the SAP XI server using SDM.Then u can these mappings in ur XI system.
    2)
on Seeburger installation CD you can find in Release_SeeXI_1.._(SAPXI_3.0_SP..\SAP\CD-<yuor solution>\data\AdapterBIC\deploy a file called Mappings_sys.sda. This is library with Seeburger standard Mappings delivered with adapters. You need to deploy this file (Mappings_sys.sda) with SDM and then you can use those mappings in XI. Names of the contained mappings you can find in Release_SeeXI_1.._(SAPXI_3.0_SP..\SAP\CD-<your solution>\data\ SAPXI_ContentGuide_<your solution>_en.pdf. For test purpose you can use this project but if you need some additional mappings you have to install BIC MD, create your new mappings and generate new sda file (Mappings_user.sda). At any time it’s allowed to use only 1 Mappings_user.sda and 1 Mappings_sys.sda. So every new deployed Mappings_user.sda overwrites previous one. Mappings_sys.sda is deployed only by the initial installation.

  • How to create .sda file for tables directly created in SQL ,not Dictionary

    Hi friends,
According to my project requirements, I need to create tables in a different schema than the default location provided.
hence I have created my tables using the SQL client rather than creating the Dictionary project and then deploying.
But I have to create a .sda file for these tables in SQL database, so the problem is that I can't see the tables in my Dictionary perspective of NWDS, to create the archive.
So is there any other alternative to create a sda file for these tables so that I can transport these tables to another location.

    HI Brian,
    No.
You have to create a java dictionary project.
As without project you can not create a .sda file.there is no relationship between a database level table and .sda..
.sda is an archive of java dictionary projects...

  • Archived files require password on PC's

I have posted a .zip file created by archiving a file on my Mac on my server. Mac users can go to the URL and download it with no problem but PC users get a zip file that requires a password to expand it. According to the original zip file by looking in Get Info, there are no permission restrictions. Can anyone help me with this? Thank you in advance if you can as I am desperate to get these file to a PC user.

    Hi Dozib,
Yes you'll be able to open those files at school, print them, edit them, only if they have a Mac running Pages, Numbers, or Keynote. Remember only those programs can read their own files, there isn't any reader available for them.
Heck for a long time MS didn't have a reader for their DOCX and the like. Interestingly the Mac could read them without a reader however, Windows users couldn't. Windows users had to await for MS to create a reader for them to use—much frustration in MS land.
Many DOCX files that others couldn't open were sent to me to open convert them to MS Word or Excel older version such as Office for XP. We won many Windows converts from that.
As for Open Office, Neo Office: yes their file formats are proprietary however, there's good news. Go into the preferences of those programs there you'll be able to have them natively save word processing documents as MS Word (.DOC), spreadsheet files as Excel (.XLS), Presentation files as Powerpoint (PPT). From then on when you save a word processing file it will automatically save it in MS Word format with the extension as <file name>.doc. The same when working on an spreadsheet file saving it will automatically save it as a MS Excel with the extension as <file name>.XLS.
See it's very simple to setup those programs to do exactly what you need—save file in MS Office format. When I install OpenOffice for someone that's the first thing I do is set it to save in MS Office file format. Everyone is amazed and pleased.
Finally, Henrik Holmegaard, is correct about the standards publishers. Once a standard file format is agreed upon then it shouldn't matter what word processing program one uses the files would be interchangeable. As he said "they're yet not there" maybe never will be there's too much at stake for vendors to allow that to happen. All the while us endusers work in "quiet desperation".
Hope my above comments answered your questions to your satisfaction.
    Cordially,

  • Flat File to EDI

    Hi Guys,
I have a flat file coming into XI and i need to send it in EDI format.
can anybody help me how to covert the incoming flat file to EDI format and send to a buisness partner ?
    Thanks,
    Raj

    Hi
Which structure you are refering to i mean ODERS EDIFACT or any other.
See for converting the EDI XML to EDI or flat file to EDI you need to have a mapping program at the adapter module which does the conversion. For this module you need a BIC tool of seeburger which provides the different module program for EDI to XML and XML-EDI. This program needs to be deployed on XI and through adapter it has to be called for conversion.
May be this will help you.

    Hi,
If you are using NW version < 7.1
Log on to the remote server (host):
Run the remote GUI for the SDM (software deployment manager)
    <drive>:\usr\sap\<host>\<instance>\SDM\program --> remotegui.bat
Using this SDM interface you will be able to deploy the SDAs.
Log on using SDM password. Go to deployment Tab -> click on '+' icon (Add SDAs for Deployment), then next and deploy.

    Hi,
You may need to design the site again in older version OR may be copy and paste in place from new to old except what is new in the latest version.
    Hope that helps!
