MAP... Cant get addresses from address book to load to start/end locations.

I just purchased phone and updated to 1.1.3 before using first time.
Just tried using the map directions option. When selecting an address from the address book to place into either the start or end location, I select the name but nothing shows up in the start or end field.
Apple store hadn't heard of this. Any ideas?

It seems to work fine for me. I take it that by "address book" you mean the contacts list in the phone?
Seeing as it's a new iPhone and just updated to 1.1.3, it might be worth rebooting it, by pressing both the top (sleep) and bottom (home) buttons together until the Apple logo appears, then let go. This will clear out any memory caches etc, that might have been corrupted in the install.
If that doesn't work, the try a software restore within iTunes.
These are the standard troubleshooting steps you should got through whenever you find something amiss with the iPhone.

HowI get Address Book Server sync with clients?

I have just set up Lion Server on a macmini and am learning how to set it up. I cannot get address Book server to sync with client accounts.
The server is function is active. The users are properly set up, and the clients have been connected to the server and a Mac OSX Server Address Book created. I have also set up the address book on the Mac Mini with an OSX Server addresss book. It should show the same entries as the client and sync wherever changes are made. Not a sausage....nothing...... The little 'wheel' whizzes round and does......... you have got it........ nothing.
I thought this was easy to use?
Any help would be welcome.

Yes the sync tool is a standalone utility (you don't need the outlook connector installed). I finally got around to installing/configuring the latest version (comm-suite-5 sync tool) against my 2005Q4 test install.
The addressbook server is the UWC address as I mentioned before but you also need to include the /uwc on the end.
So for my system I have the following setting:
local.sso.uwc.verifyurl = http://test-system.sun.com:82/uwc/VerifySSO?
This maps to a :
=> Address Book Server: test-system.sun.com/uwc
=> Port: 82
So in your case it would be:
local.sso.uwc.verifyurl = http://hostname:6788/uwc/VerifySSO?
=> Address Book Server: hostname/uwc
=> Port: 6788

Cant get data from text file to print into Jtable

Instead of doing JDBC i am using text file as database. I cant get data from text file to print into JTable when i click find button. Goal is to find a record and print that record only, but for now i am trying to print all the records. Are you saying that you are trying to sync your contacts to iCloud? Are the two accounts you mention ".mac" and ".me" actually different in that they are [email protected] vs. [email protected]? If so, your device can only use one account at once - and you should stick to only one account.

Could windows Firewall be stopping this geo-location weather ticker app from working? When I start Captivate 8, I get the message indicating the the firewall is blocking some features of the program. When I check the geo var it seems empty.

The place you plug in the charger (and also the cord to attach it to the desktop software) is broken. T-mobile sent me a new phone and I bought a pod charger for power, but I have 500 contacts in my phone with emails, faxes, addresses etc that I would like to have on my new phone. I don't want to have to manually copy them from my old phone and put into my new phone. Is there any way any of you can think of to get my address book into my new phone. T-mobile tech suppport couldn't think of a way. The guy at the store tried to send it bluetooth but failed also. Did he do it wrong or can you do it that way?

Yes, you should be able to transfer your address book by bluetooth as long as you have power to your old phone.
Go to Applications, Options, Bluetooth, hit your menu button, enable bluetooth, click menu again, add device, (your old phone should be near it), once the device is added, click the menu again and click transfer address book.

How to get address book from Mac desktop to a MacBook Pro

I recently bought a MacBook Pro 13" with Lion. I have a IMac desktop and want to put my address book from it to the MacBook Pro and don't know how to do it. Can someone help me with this? I also need to move my word documents. I have Microsoft Word for Mac 2004, Version 11.6.3 on the desktop. Is it possible to move over also?

Office 2004 wont work on Lion 10.7. You should upgrade. From your iMac:
User/Library/Application Support. Copy the AddressBook folder to the desktop of your new MBP. On the MBP:
From the Finder. Hold down the option key and click on Go from the menu and select Library. That'll open the User/Library folder. Open the Application Support folder and put your AddressBook folder there. Moving documents: Connect the two with firewire cables. The iMac should be shut down. Boot the iMac while holding down the 't' key. That'll boot it into target disk mode and you should see the iMac's hard drive on the MBP's desktop. Copy the files over.

Error Code 0x82bc1095 trying to map folders in Address Book synching with MS Outlook 2003 SP3t

Help please. My BB Curve 8900 OS v5 has suddenly stopped synchronising with my MS Outlook 2003 SP3. It gets as far as address book then stops, giving error message " One or more configured folders is not availablr. Update mapping field and try again". Configuring my organiser, when I click on a tab I get another message saying "No available Message stores". I click on OK and get the tabbed page opern but the mapping folders field is empty and greyed out.
If I click on Map Fields, I get another error message "Error encountered. Error code 0x82bc1095"
No synchronisation takes place at all.
I am far from technically minded, say about one step above being a Luddite. Can anyone please advise me?

Thanks for your suggestion, but things have moved since then. I tried swapping my mapisvc by changing the extension to 'old' and running the repair, but this did not recreate a mapisvc.inf file, so I changed the extension back to inf. I also uninstalled Outlook Connector as other threads have suggested.
However another thread suggested resetting the organiser using the reset settings button. I did this, but the DTM will not now let me set up synchronisation with my Outlook. Outlook is shown as an option, along with Yahoo and ASCII.
It just lets me go through the process but does not produce a tick in the appropriate box at the end.
I did tell it to synch with Yahoo to see if it would take and it does, but when I try to change it to Outlook it does not register the change (leaving it as Yahoo). I have to select 'none' to clear the tick.
You can probably tell that I'm useless at this sort of thing and I'm getting very frustrated with the whole thing. I've had numerous problems ever since I upgraded the device software. I think that if I ever get this working again, I will not do anything else.

How to get address book contacts into my LG CX8600?

I am brand new at this Bluetooth game, so I need maybe some extra help. I am trying to copy selected contacts from my address book over to my cell. Isync recognizes the device, but says it’s not supported.
However, when I export a contact as a .vcf file, it gets into my cell..., one contact at a time. This is very tedious, also an awful lot of ‘;;;;’ get inserted, I suppose all the fields that my LG CX8600 doesn’t understand.
Is there a way to ‘massage’ a number of contacts into one file?

Most LG phones are not compatible with iSync, as LG does not include the required industry standard syncing protocols in most of their phones. Also LG do not support Mac users with their own syncing software.
Many phones only support one contact per vCard, so if that's true of the CX8600 then you have no choice but to send them individually.
If you drag multiple contacts from Address Book to the desktop it will create a single vCard containing multiple contacts, which you can try sending to the phone. It may only see the first one though.
Also, try changing the vCard format to v2.1 in Address Book preferences. Some phones only support the older format.

You should get something like this.
On the left pane is a list of common places.
All the user data is in the /Users folder.
See the magnifying glass on the upper left of the screen. This is spotlight. Type in a file name.

Cant transfer address book to new torch 9810

I have a torch 9800 that is linked to the blackberry enterprise server. I have backed it up many times through the BB desktop software on my imac. I recently got a new torch 9810 linked to an enterprise server as well. I switched devices using the BB desktop software and everything except my address book (contacts) trasferred over. When I try to transfer over the address book, it is dimmed out and reads "dimmed entries are read-only and cannot be restored. Does anyone know how to get around this?
