Mapping and Conversion?

Hi Gurus,
       I am trying to take 20??000 to F_100 as opening balance and few GL's to Flow dimension. Is it possible? If so the how to map it and what are the conversions I have to maintain.
For Ex:
102345  -  Project related expense
102346  -  Project Services
102347  - Project TA/DA
all this GL's are common for 9-10 types of project. So for this GL I want to map them to Flow Dimension as follows
102345 - F_551
102346 - F_552
102347 - F_553
How I can do it? Next in time dimension external we have 20??000 which is opening balance, this I want to map it to F_100 internally. So pls explain me what are the conversions I have to maintain and how to map them?

KumarMG

This may help.  After a few tests of my own in appshell, I had built a new export transformation file, added the concatatonated columns, but I added VALIDATERECORDS=NO and SPECIFICMAPPING=NO.  It appeared that after several different runs, the data would come out with a HEADER that was alphbetical.
Now the other big difference is that I generally export data using the EXPORTFROMFACT package, which will eliminate all parent records from my data and may be slightly different than the EXPORT package.  But I suggest using this when pulling base data for other application purposes.
Based on my testing, it did not matter where I placed my mapped names, but that they eventually were all alpha sequenced in the data file.
Good Luck.

  • Maintain field mapping and conversion rule

    hi
    could you please tell me,
    IN LSMW  5 th step, what is the role of maintain field mapping and conversion rule, please throw some light on it.
    Thanks

    it will set up the connection between your defined "source field" and the field which has been maintained by your import method .

  • Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules//LSMW

    Hello Friends,
    I want to add new fields in the step.no.5(Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules).
    Indetail i'm going to upload the GL balances, for DR and CR line item fields are same so system is not accepting the same field value, so i have added 1 for the CR line item fields like in the below example.
    BSEG-WRBTR(Dr line item)
    BSEG-WRBTR1(Cr line item)
    but BSEG-WRBTR1(Cr line item) field not displaying in the step.no.5 to mapping to source field.
    please let me know the solution for this.
    thanks
    swapna.

    Hi,
    I would like to ask few questions.
    1. Are you using batch input recording or using any program for uploading. (through LSMW)
    2. Whether all your debit or credit line items are same every transactions. I believe they should be same, because you are uploading the balances.
    You should not have two similar fields for example, if it is WMBTR, then again WMBTR should not be there, it should WMBTR1 and WMBTR2. Make sure you have done the field mapping properly. When you have done the field mapping all the fileds must have been mapped. If any one of the fields are not mapped, then it will not be uploaded.
    Please see the following LSMW sample guide:
    http://www.scmexpertonline.com/downloads/SCM_LSMW_StepsOnWeb.doc
    Maintain Object Attributes Do the recording - Make sure that you do not have two fields with the similar name. If you have two fields with the same name double click on the field name and add1 or 2 to differentiate between field names. Just Copy those fields and descriptions in excel sheet, delete the blank lines, then in excel data => text to columns, your field names and descriptions will be now in two columns. Copy them, then put your cursor on the next sheet, then edit => Paste Special => Transpose, all the columns will become your rows. Now your file structure is ready. Maintain Source Structures Give some unique structure name and description Maintain Source Fields Here you add the fields that are being used in EXCEL first sheet, just copy them and make all the fields as C (Constant) and then give length of 60 for all fields. Maintain Structure Relations Though structure relations are already created just go to this step, click on edit, then click on create structure relation, just accept the message stating that the structure relation has already been created. Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules Do the field mapping for all the fields, all the fields willl be stretched and you will see five rows against each row. In case if there is any row that has NOT stretched means, there is something wrong in the mapping. Maintain Fixed Values, Translations, User-Defined Routines There is nothing to be done at this step. You can simply ignore this. Specify Files Make you must have saved your excel file as .txt (before saving make sure you have copied data from sheet2 to sheet 3 and then sheet 3 is saved at tab delimited file. Text (Tab delimited) Select your file, make SURE that you have select "TABULATOR" radio button and say OK. Assign Files Go to this step and click on Create assignment button and accept the message and say ok. Read Data Remove two check boxes and just click on execute button. See the log. Make sure you have number of entries (lines) in your excel file are matching with this. Display Read Data Display data give 1 to 999 lines and double click on one of the line and see whether fields are mapped correctly are not. Convert Data Execute and see the log match the number of entries. Display Converted Data Display converted data, give 1 to 999 and double click on one of the line and see whether fields are mapped correctly or not. Create Batch Input Session Check on Keep Batch Input sessions check box, then execute. If you select that check box, even after execution it will be there and you can analyze what happened. Run Batch Input Session (Takes you to SM35) Go to SM35 select the batch and click on process button (execute), make sure you have checked right hand side first three check boxes and FOREGROUND (because you want to save what it is creating) Say OK Keep on press ENTER on your key board in order to move the session further. If you follow these steps along with the guide, surely you should be successful. There may be small difference between the file and what I have explained but ultimately the purpose is same. Hope this is useful and let me know in case if you have any issues.

    Hi Friends,
    In Step Field Mapping and Conversion Rules:
    Am not able find the fields.
    1. I checked the source structure relationship it is ok.
    2. I have assigned the fields in recording too.
    Please help me out.

    hi ram,
    I think u have gone wrong in the first step itself............
    Do like this,
    1) Goto Maintain Object Attributes
    2) Select Batch Input Recording and Enter Ur recording Name
    3) Then Select Recording Overview...
    4) Thne Press DEFAULT ALL on ur Application Toolbar or Select EDIT-> DEFAULT ALL
    5) All ur Source Fields will be mapped for Recording Fields......
    6) Now u can see ur Fields in Field Mapping and Conversion Step......
    I hope this will work u r doing with BATCH INPUT METHOD...

  • Lsmw..........Step 5: Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules

    Hi All,
    After maintaining all the four steps in LSMW, when I goto Step 5, I cannot see any fields which I have created in recording to map the fields to source fields. If i remember correctly there is a button to click to see all the fields under "Fields" after TCODE. Can anyone explain how to see all the fields which I have created using the recording session.
    Any inputs will be highly appreciated. I can explain the issue if some one didnt get this?
    Regards
    Shane.

    Hi All,
    My question is, In step 5, when I go to map fields, under the "Fields" I can only see four sub nodes. and they are
      Fields
              __BEGIN_OF_RECORD__ Before Using Conversion Rules
                        Rule :   Default Settings
                        Code:    MATMAS = INIT_MATMAS.
              TABNAME                      Table Name
                        Rule :   Default Settings
                        Code:    MATMAS-TABNAME = 'MATMAS'.
              TCODE                        Transaction Code
                        Rule :   Default Settings
                        Code:    MATMAS-TCODE = 'MM01'.
            __END_OF_RECORD__   After Using Conversion Rules
                        Rule :   Default Settings
                        Code:    transfer_record.
    My question is after TCODE, i should see all my fields to assign the source structre fields. I can also send the screenshot if anyof you can reply to my sapshane27 at gmail

  • Problem in lsmw. step: display field mapping and conversion rule

    hi,
    The IDOC structure to be mapped is missing in step 5[lsmw using IDOC]. Hence target structures are missing in auto gnerated conversion program.
    As a result the the step Convert Data step is failing.[Converted data cant be generated]
    I am using standard BAPI charcteristics as my Basic Type.
    Anyone having idea why the target structure is missing??..

    The problem is solved....The field mapping was missing coz i didnt assign the target structure properly....

  • Column maping and conversion between dissimilar tables fails.

    Hello,
    I have two Oracle databases of different versions and replicate an only schema in one direction (9.2.0.8 -> 11.2.0.3).
    An instrument of replication is GoldenGate 11.1.1.1.2_05.
    All objects of two replicating schemas are identical except one table -
    in 9.2.0.8 the table have this appearance -
    create table test.t1 add (id number, nm number);
    create index test.i_t1 on test.t1(id);however, in 11.2.0.3 -
    create table test.t11g add (id number, vch varchar2(5));
    create index test.i_t1 on test.t11g(id);and all objects, except this mentioned table in its two incarnations, are replicating successfully.
    Now about GoldenGate structure - it looks like this -
    (DB 9.2.0.8) -> (Extractor) -> (Local trail) -> (Pump) -> (Network) -> (Remote trail) -> (Replicator) -> (DB 11.2.0.3)
    I decided to make mapping and conversion at target site and, however, I have those parameters for replicator -

    REPLICAT REP2

    DDLERROR 24344 DISCARD;And, of course, I have created definitions file at source site and have copied it afterwards to the target site, so parameter SOURCEDEFS reflects the reality.
    For some completeness of the picture I'll providing parameters of extractor and of pump extractor -

    This is my first steps in this area, so I would like to any help.

    I've tried to change slightly replication params from this -
    --Replicat group --
    REPLICAT REP2
    <...>
    --Specify table mapping ---
    MAP test.t1, TARGET test.t11g, COLMAP (USEDEFAULTS, VCH=@STRNUM(NM));
    MAP test.*, TARGET test.*;
    DDLERROR 24344 DISCARD;to something like this -
    --Replicat group --
    REPLICAT REP2
      <...>
    --Specify table mapping ---
    MAP test.T1, TARGET test.T11G, COLMAP (USEDEFAULTS, VCH=@STRNUM(NM));
    MAP test.CITIES, TARGET test.CITIES;
    MAP test.COUNTRIES, TARGET test.COUNTRIES;
    MAP test.LOBEXP, TARGET test.LOBEXP;
    DDLERROR 24344 DISCARD;Now replication works. So the problem was in asterisk which of course stands for test.T1 - the table which is substituted by test.T11g in target site.
    Then, how can I exclude test.T1 from generalisation? To enumerate every table in a schema is a mad overcome, especially if the schema is really bulky of objects?

  • Java mapping and no content conversion

    Hi all,
    I have a file to idoc scenario. The file is in flat idoc format and I've made my own java mapping that gets the flat file and converts it to idoc xml format.
    I don't use content conversion in the sender file adapter because I don't wan't the file to be converted to xml before the java mapping processes it. But with this configuration my scenario fails in the interface determination step, as it doesn't find an xml to apply the java mapping.
    Is there a way to make it work as I want? (with my java mapping and not applying content conversion?) If not, is there a way to put all the file in a single xml tag using content conversion?
    I mean something like this:
    <FILE>
    </FILE>
    This way it would be easy for my java mapping to remove the tags and work with the flat file as it does now.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks Stephan for your answer.
    In fact I have the defined that interface, as well as a dummy data type and message type that uses it. I still get the error though. My guess is that, as I don't use content conversion in file adapter (message protocol is file) the outbound message is in fact not in xml format, and it cannot identify it in interface determination. That's my guess but perhaps I'm wrong?
    This is the error I'm getting:

    Hi Seetha Ram,
       Value mapping:  Where we maintain a table of values which are mapped.
    based on the incoming value we can send the respective resultant value.

  • Mapping and combining multiple rows

    Hi,
    Imaging the following case From R/3 every week to different customers 10 different products# are sold..If no new idem is sold for customer no new record is generated for this customer. For example -Source file:
    CustID     product #sold        number items
    1                1                     5
    1                2                     2
    1                3                     3
    3                2                     7
    4                1                    30
    In this case for custID 2 no sales were generated this week so no record exists in the text file. This file must be submitted to a partner for analysis in the following structure:
    Cust ID  product 1   product 2   product 3….
    1           5            2          3
    3                        7
    4          30
    It is going to be  text file structure after xi mapping and will be. Both files are fixed so each record and field has fixed positions predetermined.
    How would be the mapping in XI performed the best in this case..?Is using BMP necessary in this case or it could be avoided…and if yes how…?Looks like mapping program must be created. I  appreciate any input…The easy way is the better way..Of course I would like to handle some errors as well.
    Do i need any conversions in inbound/outbound File Adapter and what kind of if yes…?Thanks
    Jon

    hey
    >>case From R/3 every week to different customers 10 different products# are sold
    this means you are sending some values from R/3 to your partner,now this sender file,will this be an IDOC ?if yes,then which IDOC,if its gonna be a Flat file then can you provide us with the structure of the sender data type.
    also it will be helpful if you can send the receiver data structure as well
    Until now i dont see any need of BPM,it can be handled in message mapping but i can be more sure once i get the source and target data structure.
    Thanx

  • Design approach help : BIC Mapping Tool Conversion

    Hi All,
    Design approach:
    we know that BIC mapping tool can be used for EDI to XML conversion. also i know that its a Any to any converter.
    But we prefer EDI to EDI XML conversion only via this tool and do the mapping in SAP PI as it would be easy to do mapping change if any in PI than redeploy the mapping in module location every time.
    My question is:
    we know that sender file adapter supports FCC for max of 3 hierarchy levels.
    Can we make it a practice of accepting requirements in SAP PI which has complex Flat file structure (more than 3 levels). and use BIC mapping tool to convert the Complex flat file Structure (with more  than 3 levels) into PI required format and proceed with the mapping and Configuration. (Note: hear the assumption is that the organisation has BIC Mapping tool procured for some EDI message scenario's ).
    or is it best practice to ask the Source system to supply flat files strictly in Header,with 1 line item format?
    Suggestions would be deeply appreciated.
    Warm Regards,
    Senthilprakash

    >
    > if you are thinking of using only BIC mapping tool for converting flat file to xml and want to proceed with normal configuration without using BIC modules then it is not feasible.
    >
    Dear Suresh,
    I am very well aware of that. we have Seeburger SFTP adapter installed in our PI system. and for EDI conversion we use BIC for converting to XML and deploy the module in the adapter level.
    Now my question is that: weather is it the rite way to start accepting requirement from source which has complex flat file structure (non edi messages) and using BIC module in adapter to convert it into XML and proceed with configuration or better to ask the source system to send the flat file in a format which is accepted by our file adater FCC.
    what are the drawbacks/bottlenecks we see in using BIC module for converting non EDI complex flat files into XML format? in PI

  • Hi , friends pls explain abap mapping and message mapping

    1) pls explain abap mapping and message mapping
       send me screen shorts also.

    Hi
    Mapping Techniques
    XI provides 3 standard ways of interface mapping between source and target.
    Graphical mapping
    Java Mapping
    XSLT Mapping
    Two more additional mapping types can be activated in XI by making changes to the exchange profile. Those two mappings are
    ABAP mapping
    XSLT mapping with ABAP Extensions
    Graphical Mapping
    Graphical mapping is a common approach followed by everyone for generating desired target structure. It involves simple drag-n-drop to correlate respective nodes (fields) from source and target structure. It hardly involves coding. (Exception - User defined functions). But sometimes with graphical mapping it is difficult to produce required output. For example ... text/html output, namespace change, sorting or grouping of records etc.
    ABAP Mapping
    A person comfortable with Object Oriented ABAP can go for ABAP mapping instead.
    Java Mapping
    Java Mapping uses 2 types of parsers. DOM and SAX. DOM is easier to use with lots of classes to help you create nodes and elements, but , DOM is very processor intensive.
    SAX parser is something that parses your XML one after the other, and so is not processor intensive. But, it is not exaclty easy to develop either.
    XSLT Mapping
    One can also think of Java mapping as another option but it is a bit complex and required knowledge of Java. In such cases, XSLT mapping can be the best approach to meet the requirements.
    A few example cases in which an XSLT mapping can be used:-
    When the required output is other than XML like Text, Html or XHTML (html displayed as XML)
    When default namespace coming from graphical mapping is not required or is to be changed as per requirements.
    When data is to be filtered based on certain fields (considering File as source)
    When data is to be sorted based on certain field (considering File as source)
    When data is to be grouped based on certain field (considering File as source)\
    Advantages of using XSLT mapping
    XSLT program itself defines its own target structure.
    XSLT programs can be imported into SAP XI. Message mapping step can be avoided. One can directly go for interface mapping once message interfaces are created and mapping is imported.
    XSLT provides use of number of standard XPath functions that can replaces graphical mapping involving user defined java functions easily.
    File content conversion at receiver side can be avoided in case of text or html output.
    Multiple occurrences of node within tree (source XML) can be handled easily.
    XSLT can be used in combination with graphical mapping.
    Multi-mapping is also possible using xslt.
    XSLT can be used with ABAP and JAVA Extensions.
    Disadvantages of using XSLT mapping
    Resultant XML payload can not be viewed in SXMB_MONI if not in XML format (for service packs < SP14).
    Interface mapping testing does not show proper error description. So errors in XSLT programs are difficult to trace in XI but can be easily identified outside XI using browser.
    XSLT mapping requires more memory than mapping classes generated in Java.
    XSLT program become lengthier as source structure fields grows in numbers.
    XSLT program sometimes become complex to meet desired functionality.
    Some XSL functions are dependent on version of browser.
    Different types of Mappings
    MAPPING SUPPORTED BY XI
    Message Mapping -> Graphical Design and testing environment. Default Provided By XI. Queue based modelling allow handling or large documents. Extensible via user defined functions
    XSLT Mapping - > Based on openstandard, Portable across application platform, Extensible using user defined functions kewl but disadvantage is Memory overload while handling large documents.
    SAX -> Simple Api For XML. -> Allows you to parse through a XML document. Doesn't consume any memory. But the message can be parsed only once from top to bottom. It Has evolved by contributions made by group of ppl itz a open architecture.
    DOM -> Document Object Model -> Itz designed by W3C. Consumes Memory as the message will be loaded. Allows parsing of document in both way top down and bottom up.
    Send me your email id.Shall send you very good docs for both ABAP Mapping and message mapping.
    Thanks

            final Iterator iterator = map.entrySet().iterator();
            while (iterator.hasNext()) {
                Map.Entry entry = (Map.Entry) iterator.next();

  • Ovi maps and Nokia Maps

    I have recently downloaded the ovi maps update for free navigation on my 5800 however now I seem to have 2 programs in my installed apps menu, Ovi maps and Nokia maps. This is causing me some problems as my phones built in memory is now completely full and I am unable to do some things as I have ran out of on phone memory space. Which one is the main map software? And also can I uninstall one? If not then can it be installed on a MSD card and if yes how?

    As far as I can determine Ovi maps is the mapping software (program) which installs to C (phone memory) and Nokia maps is the map data that you have loaded which I believe are installed to E (mass memory).
    I can confirm that you do need both installed.
    The problem as far as I can see is that the previous maps versions 3.01 is built into the current firmware (v20 for N97 - not sure for 5800) and installing maps 3.03 does not remove or overwrite the earlier version so you end up with both versions installed and thus the extra memory footprint.
    This will remain a problem until a newer firmware is released which will hopefully have maps 3.03 (or later depending when next firmware is released) thus reducing the extra 9 megs or so used.
    Hope this answers your question
