Mapping CRC OIDs to interface ports
Hi,
I'm trying to monitor CRC errors on a 6513. When I run an SNMP MIB broswer it returns 648 OIDs for CRCs!
Eg:
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.2.1.1.12.1
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.2.1.1.12.2
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.2.1.1.12.3
.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.2.1.1.12.891
The numbering is not consistent and there are intermittent blocks of numbers missing in the range (thus the last number being 891 out of 648 rows). Dose anyone know how to map that last OID number to the relevent interface port? I'm struggling to find any documentation on this.
Thanks,
Glenn
Hi Glenn,
this object is called OLD-CISCO-INTERFACES-MIB::locIfInCRC.
In the MIB file we can find the definitions of the tables and objects, in this case lifEntry:
lifEntry OBJECT-TYPE(...)INDEX { ifIndex }
So the last number is a reference to IF-MIB::ifIndex (.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1).
You can find out the interface names with ifName (.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.1).
enterprises.9.2.2.1.1.12.170 = 74mib-2.31.1.1.1.1.170 = Gi5/2#show interface gi5/2 | i CRC 235 input errors, 74 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored
Hope that helps

SCOM 2012 SP1 Cisco Interface/Port Monitoring
Hey.
We are trying to finish our parallel rollout of SCOM 2012 (previously used 2007 R2 with xSNMP) and have ran into a snag with a port that goes to a T3 connecting two of our offices.
The device is a Cisco 7206 router (listed as Certified in the
latest lists). SCOM sees the port and labels it IF-47 (stupidly) during discovery and rediscovery, but won't apply any type of performance monitoring on it. I could create the override to enable one but the only monitors it shows are three rollups (High
Discard, High Error, and High Queue Drop percentages). We need to be able to monitor utilization like any other port on the router. Ironically, SCOM has added these monitors for disabled (admin-down) ports.
We have the other endpoint router in SCOM and have added the interface/port to the "Critical Network Adapters Group" but that only seems to monitor availability (up or down). So besides creating my own SNMP monitors from the Cisco OIDs needed, anyone
know of a way to get this interface/port monitored for performance (i.e. utilization)?
One peculiarity, if I look at the monitors between this interface/port and another that has the perf monitors this one has "Network Adapter (Common)" whereas the one with the perf monitors shows "netcor cisco" of multiple fashions.
thanks!Hi,
Some monitors are disabled by default. For details about the monitors, please see the section “Tuning Alerts for Network Monitoring” in the following document:

Its indeed the bug CSCuo71154

There is no release where the bug is fixed at the moment, though there is a workaround by enabling flow control.

Multiple Crypto Maps on Single Outside Interface
Hi, I had the following crypto map configured on my ASA5505 to allow Cisco IPSec VPN clients to connect from the outside:
crypto dynamic-map SYSTEM_DEFAULT_CRYPTO_MAP 65535 set pfs group1
crypto dynamic-map SYSTEM_DEFAULT_CRYPTO_MAP 65535 set transform-set ESP-AES-128-SHA ESP-AES-128-MD5 ESP-AES-192-SHA ESP-AES-192-MD5 ESP-AES-256-SHA ESP-AES-256-MD5 ESP-3DES-SHA ESP-3DES-MD5 ESP-DES-SHA ESP-DES-MD5
crypto map outside_map 65535 ipsec-isakmp dynamic SYSTEM_DEFAULT_CRYPTO_MAP
crypto map outside_map interface outside
I'm trying now to set up an additional crypto map - a static configuration to establish a tunnel with Windows Azure services. The configuration they gave me is:
crypto map azure-crypto-map 10 match address azure-vpn-acl
crypto map azure-crypto-map 10 set peer XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX (obfuscated)
crypto map azure-crypto-map 10 set transform-set azure-ipsec-proposal-set
crypto map azure-crypto-map interface outside
However, when I apply that configuration, my Cisco IPSec clients can no longer connect. I believe my problem is that last line:
crypto map azure-crypto-map interface outside
which blows away my original line:
crypto map outside_map interface outside
It seems I'm stuck with picking just one of the maps to apply to the outside interface. Is there a way to apply both of these maps to the outside interface to allow both IPSec tunnels to be created? We're running ASA version 8.4(7)3.Hi,
You can use the same "crypto map"
Just add
crypto map outside_map 10 match address azure-vpn-acl
crypto map outside_map 10 set peer XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX (obfuscated)
crypto map outside_map 10 set transform-set azure-ipsec-proposal-set
Your dynamic VPN Clients will continue to work just fine as their "crypto map" statements are with the lowest priority/order in the "crypto map" configurations (65535) and the L2L VPN is higher (10)
And what I mean with the above is that when a L2L VPN connections is formed from the remote end it will naturally match the L2L VPN configurations you have with "crypto map" configurations using the number "10". Then when a VPN Client connects it will naturally not match the number "10" specific configurations and will move to the next entry and will match it (65535)
If you would happen to configure a new L2L VPN connection then you could give it the number "11" for example and everything would still be fine.
Hope this helps

XI 7.0 ABAP-Mapping in Design Builder (Interface Mapping)
Hi,
in XI 3.0 there was the possibility to specify a ABAP-Mapping-Class in the Interface Mapping. In XI 7.0 the
entry ABAP-Mapping is somehow missing in the drop-down-Box, there is a Message-Mapping, JAVA-Mapping and XSLT-Mapping but no ABAP-Mapping :-(.
Did this move somewhere else or are ABAP-Mapping's not possible anymore ??
Best Regards,
Frank MarxFrank,
You need to activate ABAP and XSLT mapping.
Check this blog for the same,

I just added 2 vlans Port-channel10 on two of my Nexus 5000's that go from the to a 6509 Catalyst switch. I get this error when I do a show log:(VLANs 133-134 on Interface port-channel10 are being suspended. (Reason: Vlan is not allowed on Peer-link) When I do a sh int trunk I see Po10 (int Eth1/3) that Vlans Err-disabled on Trunk. Another odd thing when I do an spanning tree summary neith 133 or 134 is added in to the summary? Why would spanning-tree be ignoring these two new vlans?
They are configured as so:
interface port-channel10
description "vpc 10 eth1/3 to 6506 po10 ten5/4"
switch port mode trunk
switchport trunk native vlan 999
switchport trunk allowed vlan 130.,133-134,139,145,155,160-175,239,242,254,999
vpc10
What can I do to get 133 and 134 vlans to stop erroring on Port-channel 10 on both Nexus 5000's?Firstly I should say I have not used Nexus switches so the following advice should be treated with caution.
Have you added the same vlans to the allowed vlans on your vPC peer link. That is what the error message seems to be telling you ie. they are not currently allowed.
They need to be allowed otherwise the vlans are suspended which is what is happening.
As I say I haven't used these switches so I can't say for sure if there is any downtime/disruption when you modify the allowed list but I think that is your problem from what I can see.

"Crypto map" to inside/internal interface. Possible?
Hi, I have a two routers on a point to point VPN where the "Crypto Map" statement is assigned to the external interface as normal. This works fine but I need each router to present a different IP address to that of the external interface.
For example:
crypto isakmp policy 1
encr 3des
authentication pre-share
lifetime 3600
crypto isakmp key privatekey address 4.4.4.4 no-xauth
crypto ipsec transform-set 3des esp-3des esp-sha-hmac
crypto map VPN 1 ipsec-isakmp
set peer 4.4.4.4
set transform-set 3des
match address vpn
interface FastEthernet0/0
ip address 4.4.4.4 255.255.255.252
ip nat outside
ip virtual-reassembly
speed 10
full-duplex
no cdp enable
crypto map VPN
interface FastEthernet0/1
ip address 8.8.8.8 255.255.255.248
ip nat inside
ip virtual-reassembly
duplex auto
speed auto
Instead of the "4.4.4.4" being presented to the other side of the VPN, I need the 8.8.8.8 to be presented. I've tried just changing the Crypto statements as below but it still presents the 4.4.4.4 probably due to the interface the Crypto map is applied
crypto isakmp policy 1
encr 3des
authentication pre-share
lifetime 3600
crypto isakmp key privatekey address 8.8.8.8 no-xauth
crypto ipsec transform-set 3des esp-3des esp-sha-hmac
crypto map VPN 1 ipsec-isakmp
set peer 8.8.8.8
set transform-set 3des
match address vpn
How can I make sure that 8.8.8.8 is what's presented at the other end?
Thanks
AndyHi Andy,
I would suggest the following command:
crypto map local-address
http://tools.cisco.com/squish/9c85B
To specify and name an identifying interface to be used by the crypto map for IPSec traffic, use the crypto map local-address command in global configuration mode. To remove this command from the configuration, use the no form of this command.
crypto map map-name local-address interface-id
no crypto map map-name local-address
Example:
interface loopback0
ip address 4.2.2.2 255.255.255.252
crypto map mymap local-address loopback0
interface S0
crypto map mymap
Of course you need to make sure the remote end can reach this additional IP address.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Interface port-channel btw N2K and Brocade VDX
Dear all,
I tried to configure a port-channel between a nexus 2K (2FEX) and a brocade VDX (VDX6710).
As you seen below, my configuration :
N2K
Po10
switchport access vlan 200
Eth101/1/6
switchport access vlan 200
channel-group 10 mode active (used LACP)
Eth102/1/6
switchport access vlan 200
channel-group 10 mode active (used LACP)
VDX
interface Port-channel 27
vlag ignore-split
speed 1000
switchport
switchport mode access
switchport access vlan 200
spanning-tree shutdown
no shutdown
interface GigabitEthernet 21/0/31
channel-group 27 mode active type standard
lacp timeout long
no shutdown
interface GigabitEthernet 22/0/31
channel-group 27 mode active type standard
lacp timeout long
no shutdown
Unfortunately, we can't up the link for interfaces and so the port-channel.
We have the next message from the N5K for FEX :
%ETHPORT-5-IF_ADMIN_UP: Interface Ethernet101/1/6 is admin up .
%ETHPORT-5-SPEED: Interface Ethernet101/1/6, operational speed changed to 1 Gbps
%ETHPORT-5-IF_DUPLEX: Interface Ethernet101/1/6, operational duplex mode changed to Full
%ETHPORT-5-IF_RX_FLOW_CONTROL: Interface Ethernet101/1/6, operational Receive Flow Control state changed to off
%ETHPORT-5-IF_TX_FLOW_CONTROL: Interface Ethernet101/1/6, operational Transmit Flow Control state changed to on
%ETHPORT-5-IF_UP: Interface Ethernet101/1/6 is up in mode access

%ETHPORT-5-IF_DOWN_ERROR_DISABLED: Interface Ethernet101/1/6 is down (Error disabled. Reason:BPDUGuard)
Any idea about the configuration ?
Thanks for your help.
MatthieuFexes are really made to connect hosts and not switches . So the ports should not see bpdu's so bpduguard is err-disabling the ports.
Spanning Tree Protocol
HIFs go down with the BPDUGuard errDisable message
HIFs go down accompanied with the message, BPDUGuard errDisable.
Possible Cause
By default, the HIFs are in STP edge mode with the BPDU guard enabled. This means that the HIFs are supposed to be connected to hosts or non-switching devices. If they are connected to a non-host device/switch that is sending BPDUs, the HIFs become error-disabled upon receiving a BPDU.
Solution
Enable the BPDU filter on the HIF and on the peer connecting device. With the filter enabled, the HIFs do not send or receive any BPDUs. Use the following commands to confirm the details of the STP port state for the port: -
Policy-map input on an interface VLAN
Hi there,
I have a problem with a policy-map on an interface VLAN on my Cisco 6509-E.
The switch has the IOS Version 12.2(33)SXI10, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2).
I have configured this policy-map:
policy-map PM-10Mbit

I bind this map on a physical interface
interface GigabitEthernet2/2
description <removed>
ip vrf forwarding <removed>
ip address <removed>
ip access-group <removed> out
service-policy input PM-10Mbit
service-policy output PM-10Mbit
and get this result:

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong here?Hello
As I understand it , this is command is required in mls qos because on a SVI ( L3 vlan interface) runs in a vlan-based mode which differs from normal L3 routed interfaces which run in interface mode.
As per cisco ="In VLAN-based mode, the policy map that is attached to the Layer 2 interface is ignored, and QoS is driven by the policy map that is attached to the corresponding VLAN interface."
Lastly regards
Try matching on all traffic incoming on the trunk interface on that switch for it to successfully police incoming traffic:
class-map V102
match input-interface x/x
Policy-map POLICE
class V102
Police xxxx xxxx

Need to "move" failover to different interface/port
Sorry if this is the wrong area, we have so seldom had questions that were not otherwise handled I don't frequent this area.
How difficult is it to change the interface used for active/standby failover? It's a working, already configured pair with standby, but I need to move the crossover cable and tell them to use a different interface.
ASA 5510 pair, already set up and working with failover that was originally configured on Ethernet port 0/3 by the senior network admin. It appears that from his use of interfaces or ports he used things straight out of examples on the web, including the interfaces used.
The senior network admin retired last spring and left me "in charge", gee, thanks.
I need to make some changes and need an Ethernet port for a new important project.
The Management 0/0 interface is unused and shutdown. We manage via inside interface from a specific subnet inside so don't need the dedicated management interface.
I want to move failover FROM Ethernet 0/3 TO Management 0/0
*This is the current setup:
Result of the command: "sh run failover"
failover
failover lan unit primary
failover lan interface failover Ethernet0/3
failover link failover Ethernet0/3
failover interface ip failover 169.254.255.1 255.255.255.252 standby 169.254.255.2
*And this is the current interface configuration for 0/3 and Management:
interface Ethernet0/3
description LAN/STATE Failover Interface
interface Management0/0
speed 100
duplex full
shutdown
nameif management
security-level 0
no ip address
ospf cost 10
I know it can run on the Management 0/0 interface because I see a lot of "how to configure" as if the ASA is brand new and several examples out there indeed show it being setup on Management.
I'm looking for how to take an ASA pair that is currently configured and has a working functional failover configuration and simply "move failover" to a different hole or change the interfaces used for the "heartbeat" as it were.
I assume it's not hard - but I also assume there's a specific sequence of events that must take place to prevent the pair from going into failover and switching lead roles...........
For example - would I shut off or turn off failover, and if so how, and on which ASA (frankly, I'm not sure how to access the secondary or standby if this must be done from or on the standby unit as I've never done that "deep" a config before)
CLI is fine - I'd be just as comfortable in either ASDM or cli.
I sure hope this makes sense - I'm more of a troubleshooter and fixer than a designer or network engineer....
And many many thanks - getting this moved will free up the interface I need and can really make a big dent in my project list while the supervisor is on vacation this week! I'd love to have this done and working before his return.
Oh, in case it does matter as I've been told, this is the Currently running license and versions shown here:

Of course, totally logical - if you disconnect a monitored connection on the standby it's not about to take over as primary because it's had a failure and can't do the job, forcing the primary or active to remain that way. There's the key that would allow all other changes.
Since the settings or config lines are in place already, then if I'm correct it's a matter of then just modifying what's there, and of course removing the name of the Management interface (no nameif) and making sure it's not shut down (no shutdown), etc.
You are a handy person to have around. Thanks.
By the way, *thanks to prior answers received here* and reading responses to others who had questions I can say I've set a record for this agency and done what no one else had been able to do - I've taken a troublesome LAN-to-LAN connection and made it trouble-free with a solid connection that is just 7.5 hours away from being up 90 days with no interruption, no collapse of any SA and improved performance. I have 2 others out of our 34 that aren't too far behind that. The boss has recognized this after seeing his monthly up-time reports.
Once I get this done failover change made I will be setting up a "DMZ" of sorts and trying out my hand at telling the 5510s to forward specific traffic aimed at a specific public IP address to a specific server. (But that's another topic............) -
Multi-mapping for EDI 810 Interface
Hi,
I am building EDI 810 interface. We have following requirements.
Source system is SAP. Target systems is AAFES and COSTCO.
1 Source system and 2 target System.
For example: Can i have Interface mapping as shown below?
Invoice IDoc -> MM_EDI_810_AAFES -> EDI_810
MM_EDI_810_COSTCO
Based on DUNS number can i re-direct the interface to choose one of the mapping and accordingly choose the communication channel?
Thanks,
GowriHi,
You can do this in any of the following ways:
Content based routing in XI can be done during
1) Receiver Determinations (Integration Directory) --- Used for entering a condition for
forwarding a message to one or more receivers
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/26/5ccd3bb4560f01e10000000a11402f/content.htm
2)Interface Determinations (Integration Directory) --- Used for entering a condition for forwarding a message to multiple inbound interfaces
3) Designing Integration Processes (ccBPM) (Integration Repository) --- Used for entering a condition for processing process steps (see Step Types)
At all the 3 places u will use the Condition editor,
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/67/49767669963545a071a190b77a9a23/content.htm
Hope this helps you.

Interface Mapping not found in interface determination
Hello experts,
I am facing a very basic problem in my scenario which is stoping me from moving forward.
In interface determination when i select the inbound interface and then try to select the interface mapping, nothing is shown in the value help.
this is happening for all my scenarios even though the IR configurations are correct and I have also refreshed the cache.
What can be the problem? some installation problem, SLd prob or IR??? Please help as i am stuck!!
Thanks a lot in advance.
YashHi Yash,
This is really very strange despite of most probable solutions.
Can you do one thing delete all configuration objects in Directory and activate. Now in repostiory remove mapping programs(message mapping and interface maaping) and activate.
Check the message types and data types and message interfaces.
Specially in message interfaces check whether correct message types are assigned. If so proceed with new mapping programs and activate the objects.
Also do a fresh configuration in ID, activate and execute your scenario.
One question, can you give a arrow diagram of scenario(e.g. file>xi>JMS)
Thanks,
Gujjeti
