  • Catch mapping error message in BPM Exception branch

    Hi dudes,
Does anyone know how to catch the mapping runtime error message into a BPM exception branch? I know how to create an exception branch and how to trigger it, but I wonder whether it's possible to pass the mapping error message as shown in SXI_MONITOR (i.e. 'Cannot create target element XXXXX. Values missing in queue context').
Otherwise, everytime my BPM fails I will have to take the payload and run the mapping test in order to find out the reason of the error.
    Many thanks in advance!
    Paco

    Thanks,
My problem is not about handling exception in BPM, but getting the mapping error description and then passing it to the exception branch.
I can see in the workflow log that this info is contained into the Exception container EXCEPTIONS[2] / T100MSG:
    Message Class: SAI_MAPPING
    Message Number: 217
    Message Type: E
    Message Variable: com/sap/xi/tf/_<MM name>
    Message Variable: com.sap.aii.mappingtool.tf7.IllegalInstanceExcepti
Message Variable: on: Cannot create target element /ns1:<path/field>.Message Variable: Values~
The text in bold is the one I am interested in to be get and mapped into the exception branch.

  • Abap Mapping: error in accessing to DynamicConfiguration.

    Hi All,
I have been trying to put a value into Dynamic Configuration repository with the following abap code.
    DATA: l_record TYPE MPP_DYNAMIC.
    l_record-namespace = 'http://name1/ca/result1'.
    l_record-name = 'FileName'.
    l_record-value = '/mydir/dir1/File01.xml'.
    CALL METHOD dynamic_configuration->add_record
      EXPORTING
        record = l_record.
    I receive the following dump.
    Runtime Errors         OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO
    Except.                CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL
    Date and Time          25.03.2009 11:06:10
    Short text
Access using a 'ZERO' object reference is not possible.
    What happened?
Error in the ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "Z_XI_MAPPING_TEST_03==========CP" had to be
          interrupted because it contains
a statement that cannot be executed.
    Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL', was n
          caught in
procedure "IF_MAPPING~EXECUTE" "(METHOD)", nor was it propagated by a R
          clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
An attempt was made to access a component with a 'ZERO' object
         reference (points to 'nothing').
An object reference must point to an object (an instance of a class)
before it can be used to access a component.
Either the reference has not yet been set or it was set to 'ZERO' using
         a CLEAR statement.
I am executing my test outside PI, by launching the report Z_MAPPING_TEST as explained in a blog.
In java evironment it is necessary to create an istance of a object for saving the value of the variable 'FileName' inside the Dynamic Configuration repository.
I do not know if it is necessary to create (before) an istance of the Dynamic Configuration in abap mapping or if the method add_record do this.
The meaning of my test is to get the name file from the Dynamic Configuration repository set in a previous step in a flow where the abap mapping will be launched.
Any suggestion will be well appreciated.
Many thanks in advance for your kind cooperation.
    Regard,
        Giovanni

    Hi,
in your ABAP mapping code, instead of l_record-namespace = 'http://name1/ca/result1' use below:
    l_record-namespace = 'http://sap.com/xi/XI/System'.
    Then re-run your scenario.

  • Save all details error in Exception Block of BizTalk

In orchestration A,I make a Exception Block ,created a System.Exception object and saved Exception Error in a string and checking it in admin console.
In my orchestarion, I got amount value from a element Amount, used a custom xslt and in that custom xslt, I used a C# function for desired calculation for the value of amount.
Now when, input string of amount is not in a correct format then a error is saved regarding mapping  as follows:
    Transformation failed for Map A.
But the actual error is as follows:
input string was not in a correct format.
How can I get this error in  exception handler block?
    Prakash

    Hi Prakash,
Like you have mentioned that you are using Custom XSLT, my advice will be that you can raise an exception from within an XSLT template, based on the value.
    <xsl:message terminate="yes">Custom error text</xsl:message>
This will cause the XSLT engine to stop processing immediately, and raise an exception.   This exception, including the custom error text contained within the message segment,
can be caught in the BizTalk Orchestration engine by explicitly catching an exception of type
    Microsoft.XLANGS.BaseTypes.TransformationFailureException.
Refer: Biz Talk : How To : Throw Custom Exception in Map

  • Message Mapping error:  RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation

    Hi,
Being new to XI, I am struglling to sort out a basic mapping error. Appreciate if you could help out.
    Its an File->XI->R/3 scenario.
My FCC successfully reads the File and creates an XML. However this XML is not transferred to the target XML structure which is exactly same except the root element name is different at top.
I tried various forum tips but I still am getting the error.
( When I Test the Message mapping in test mode..it seems fine, however if I copy the XML from SXMB_MONI, it then throws the above error)
I looked at the MM in text mode: below is the extract
    /ns0:MT_REQUEST_TO_SAP/REQUEST_DETAILS/MSG_HEADER=/ns0:MT_REQUEST/REQUEST_DETAILS/MSG_HEADER=
    /ns0:MT_REQUEST_TO_SAP/REQUEST_DETAILS/MSG_HEADER/SOURCE=/ns0:MT_REQUEST/REQUEST_DETAILS/MSG_HEADER/SOURCE=
    /ns0:MT_REQUEST_TO_SAP/REQUEST_DETAILS/MSG_HEADER/DESTINATION=/ns0:MT_REQUEST/REQUEST_DETAILS/MSG_HEADER/DESTINATION=
    /ns0:MT_REQUEST_TO_SAP/REQUEST_DETAILS/MSG_HEADER/MESSAGE_ID=/ns0:MT_REQUEST/REQUEST_DETAILS/MSG_HEADER/MESSAGE_ID=
As seen the name space in both starts with nS0 and end of each line has '=' sign. Is that ok.
I have run out of options and dont know , whats the problem. Please help.
The target and Source XML structures are exactly same as shown below
    MT_REQUEST                                 MT_REQUEST_TO_SAP
       |__MSG_HEADER                            |__MSG_HEADER
         |__SOURCE                                |__SOURCE
         |__DESTINATION                           |__DESTINATION
         |__MESSAGE_ID                            |__MESSAGE_ID
And the SXMB_MONI Trace shows the following error
    <Trace level="1" type="T">com.sap.aii.utilxi.misc.api.BaseRuntimeException: RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation:
    Cannot produce target element /ns0:MT_REQUEST_TO_SAP.
Check xml instance is valid for source xsd and target-field mapping fulfills requirements of target xsd at ..
    Thanks

Edited by: Shirin K on May 29, 2008 10:29 AM

    Hi Prakasu,
As structure are exactly same, I have done 1:1 mapping. So all the fields in target structure are mapped, so no field has beeen left.
In this structure, I do not have any 1:n relation. So 1:1 mapping should be fine.
Apart from this could teher be any other reason.

  • Mapping error in the BPM!!

    Hi Fiends,
I have a BPM ..where I have the steps defined like this..
    Transform -> send mail..
In the transformation ..I have a simple mapping program(source & the target structures have got one field)..
message type structures are like this..
    source& target
    Return key  ---> 1:1
       field1 --->1:1
    mapping is like this :
    Field1--->field1(when field1 is not empty)
If field1 is empty then -> I am sending some constant to the target ...and in the mapping it is working fine...
My mail is working perfectly when there is some value in field1..and I am getting a mail..
and when there is no value in field1..I am getting mapping error.
do you have any idea..how can I solve this issue..plz help me..
    Thanks..

    Raju,
Try tracing the "transformation" step in BPM. Check the instance of the message in sxmb_moni and click 'PE' so you will be in 'workflow log' here you could see the data flow of your message inside BPE. Here you can trace were your message got exception. If it is in transformation step then click on 'list tech details' (left top corner) then click on 'show container' button corresponding to that 'transformation step'. Its similar to using trace area in sxmb_moni. here you will be aware of mapping error.
    Hope it will be helpfull.

    Yuva

    Regards,
    Mallikarjun.M

    Hi,
It seems that resource specified is not getting fetched,
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e625505c-0401-0010-7793-f4c071580a62
    You try this two steps,
    1. Although you wrote you have zipped an xsl, please recheck the interface mapping and make sure that you check the correct xsl file is being refered.
2.Check your input in browser / or xml spy for being well formed.
3.Do the mapping run in stand alone, i mean outside xi enviourment??
This stems may seems a bit generic but just have a look at that link and steps.Meanwhile let me see if i can get any specific reasons?
    Regards,
    Anirban.

  • IDOC Serialization(EOIO) using IDOC Adapter throwing Mapping error

    Hello SDN Gurus,
The scenario I am working on is IDOC(PAYEXT & EUPEXR) --> XI (ABAP Mapping) --> Flat File (IDOC Structure).
The IDOCS produced in Appl system may be in the following order
    PAYEXT
    PAYEXT
    EUPEXR
    PAYEXT
    PAYEXT
    PAYEXT
    EUPEXR
I need them to be processed in the same order into flat file.
The scenario is working good except for the serialization. So I did the following
Created two entries in IDXQUEUE one for each message type with the same Queue name in XI system.
Created a new rule for the queue and an associated function module. Used this rule in partner profile for both the message types.  I used the following link to create the above two steps.
    /people/community.user/blog/2006/11/04/how-to-serialize-idoc-xml-messages-fed-into-xi
The SAP system in based on WAS 6.4.
I can see the queue name & EOIO in the inbound message header.
I am getting a mapping error in ABAP program. If I inactivate the queue(in Appl system SAP ECC), I don't get any error.
Does anybody had this problem earlier? Please advice.
    Thanks
    Srini Vaidyam

I found an OSS note to resolve my issue. The note number is 1057573.
Whenever the queue is activated, the sender system will not send the <TABNAM> field value in EDI_DC40 structure. This note addresses this problem.
I found out this by comparing the results from SXI_MAPPING_TEST individually for the message that failed after queue is activated and the message that was successful if the queue is inactivated.
Only thing I noticed now is even if you selected the radio button "Trasfer Immediately" in Partner profile of Appl. system, the messages are not sent. They are getting collected. So we need to manually push them out using WE14.
    This forum Rocks.
    Thanks.

  • Mapping Errors in BPM

    Hi All,
How can the mapping errors in BPM be handeld implicitly (without the use of Exception Handling Branch)
    Regards,
    Anurag

    Hi Anurag.
Handling the mapping exceptions in BPM could be possible using the Alerts.
Go through this blog for Alert Configuration:
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/09/xi-alerts--step-by-step
And also go through this thread:
    alert in BPM
    Hope this helps you.
