Mapping whole dimension to single member of same member

Hi,
I am trying to copy all the values under dimension to single member.
Here is the scenario
U11211 -> "PR023" = @Relative("All units",0) -> @Relative("All_Project",0);
But this thing aren't working , the error message it says
"Cannot calculate dimension member [U11211] with restricted member [All units] Rule"
Any ideas how to approach this?

You didn't post your full code. What that error message says to me that you've All Units in the FIX statement.
You cannot do this, it'll result in another error.
U11211 -> "PR023" = "All units" -> "All_Project",0;
This will give you the sum of all Units -> All projects into U11211 -> PR023

    Can we create multiple application with single MSI(or Same MSI) in biztalk admin console ?
    My client requirement is process 100 files  from biztalk with in 5 min ,actually it is taking 20 min .
    So I decided to created same instance of the application with multiple time in BTS admin console ,as I understand biztalk admin console never allow to install same
    schema’s with multiple  time .
    Any help can be  appreciate ..

    BizTalk will automatically process multiple messages on separate threads so you may need to tune your system. The following link should get you started:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/7801.biztalk-server-performance-tuning-optimization.aspx
    Another possibility is to set the Batch Size property on your receive location if the adapter uses batch size to determine how messages are picked up.  As an example, it you want  the MSMQ adapter to immediately pick up messages and start
    to process them, set the batch size to 1.
    You may also need to distribute the processing across multiple BizTalk servers by installing BizTalk on additional servers and joining the existing BizTalk group.

  • Rename externally created dimension (FCM) and keep the same ID

    Hi,
    Urgent, need your help !
    I'm facing an issue regarding renaming externally managed dimensions (from FCM).
    Currently if i rename a dimension using third part tool, then FCM create a new entry into my "data/state/autogen_dimension.xml" file
    with a new ID and the previous one is kept. So i'm having data consistency issue.
    How can i update  dimensions and dimension values (externally managed) keeping previous ID please ?

    FCM and Externally Managed Dimensions are two separate features.
    If your dimension is being created by FCM and you want to change the name of the dimension itself while keeping the same ID, I think you'd need to go into ./data/state/fcm.dvals.xml[.gz] and ./data/state/fcm.conflicts.xml[.gz] and rename there, as well as change it in your FCM data feed (where you pass in the dimension schema).  If you are actually talking about EMTs, I'm not sure - possibly the same approach.  Certainly just renaming them in the data feed/schema would assign a new ID as the logic would naturally assume this was a new dimension (usually there is a separate display label attribute to support business users changing the label while the name is used as a system ID).

  • How to print multiple copies of same image (with specific fixed dimensions) on single page

    I am using Photoshop Elements 10 on Win 7 PC.  I am trying to print multiple copies of one image on a single 8.5x11 sheet of paper? The images are artwork for buttons (to be used in button-making machine) so the dimensions must be exact on the duplicated images.  When I select Picture Package, the images are resized to fit the dimensions in the picture package. When I select Contact Sheet, the images are resized to fit the number of columns I selected.  Neither is acceptable.  How can I repeat the same image on a single piece of paper without having the system re-size the image?  I know that I can manually create a new PSE file and manually insert the images into this file.  This is what I have been doing as a work-around.   But I would hope there is a better/faster way.
    Thank-you!

    A variation of hatstead's method where the pictures are precisely aligned:
    1. Add the picture to the blank file as hatstead described. Use the Move tool to position the picture in the upper left corner.
    2. Duplicate the layer. Use the arrow keys (NOT the mouse) to move the new layer to the right.
    3. Repeat step 2 until the row is filled:
    4. Merge Down the 3 layers into one. Alternatively, link the 3 layers and do a Merge Linked as in this example. The end result is the pictures in the row are on one layer:
    5. Duplicate the layer and use the arrow keys to move this down to the 2nd row.
    6. Repeat step 5 to create additional rows.
    7. Finally, to center the whole thing on the sheet, link all the row layers and position with the arrow keys.
    Note that you can also custom-make your own Picture Package. Instructions for this should be somewhere in Help.

  • Mapping a dimension to multiple columns

    Hi
    Is it possible to map a single dimension to multiple columns iin oracle olap ?

    No. This is very different from your original question. It seemed like you were asking if multiple columns can be used in the dimension mapping. Of course the answer is yes – it is designed that way.
    But re-using a single dimension multiple times in a cube makes no sense. You have to ask yourself if all 10 dimensions have the same business meaning to the end user. If all 10 dimensions have the same meaning, then you really only have 1 dimension. But if the meanings differ, then you need 10 separate dimensions.
    It may look like the dimension values are 0 and 1 in the table, but their meanings probably differ wildly (i.e. male/female; processed/unprocessed; cash/credit; true/false; east/west; sales associate/sales manager; etc.).

  • How to map secondry elements with main if have same ids for both?

    I need to map secondry elements with its matching primary elements if they both have same id.
    How can this be achieved in xslt.
    If ids are not matching then not a single element of secondry sholud be shown.
    If ids matching, then other fields of secondry elements, should be mapped to similar fields of primary elements.
    Eg: Its like some program running and in between some add on programs started (may be trailor or advertisement).
    the add on program is not always shown (optional), and whenever shown it has its own data information etc etc.
    Please provide me some input, how to map and proceed.
    Not sure what this code is really doing.
    <xsl:template match="SECONDARY_EVENT_LIST">
              <xsl:variable name="secondaryElements" select="ancestor::SCHEDULE/SECONDARY_ELEMENT_LIST"/>
              <xsl:for-each select="SCHEDULE_ELEMENT_ID">
                   <xsl:variable name="id" select="."/>
                   <xsl:apply-templates select="$secondaryElements/SCHEDULE_ELEMENT[(@ID=$id)]"/>
              </xsl:for-each>
         </xsl:template>
    Is this having any relation with what my requirement is all about?

    Hi,
    You can use XPATH command to get the exact tag.
    You can access each tag with it location like “/Report_Name/Group_Tag/Element_ID”.
    I think this will remove the ambiguity of Tags with same ID.

  • Multiple dimensions from single logical table

    Hi,
    I cannot seem to create multiple dimensions based one one single logical table. For example, I have a Time table from which I'd like to create a calendar time dimension and a fiscal time dimension. However, as soon as one dimension is created, I cannot create another dimension from the same logical table.
    Is it possible?
    Thanks

    Jlin,
    If I understood your requirement correctly you need to create multiple Hierarchies out of a single Logical Dimension table, this is possibe the base rule for creating a hierarchy is you should have a common starting point( Grand Total Level) and a common ending point( Detail Level), first create this and create sublevels and share the Detail Level as a child. This will allow you to create multiple hiearchies out of a single dimension. One level will have drill down on the Calendar dimension and one one the Fiscal and both will have the common detail key like day key.Hope this helps.

  • OSB Xquery mapping from multiple to single by separating its value(s).

    Hi,
    I have one requirement in OSB, can some one explain the implementation for this:
    I have one element which is of type unbound. I need to map this element to a single element and to append all the element values by separating each element value with a ';' before that I need to check whether this element(s) are present in the request then need to appened all these element values to a single element and at the end of this element need to append default values.
    Scenario:
    <student>
    <name>asd</name>
    <address>
    <street>street1</street>
    <street>street2</street>
    <street>street3</street>
    ||
    ||
    </address>
    to be mapped it to:
    <student>
    <field name="NAME">asd</field>
    <field name="ADDRESS">street1;street2;street3;default1;default2;default3</field>
    </student>
    Here need to check if street names are present in the request xml, if yes ned to assign it to ADDRESS as mentioned above whether street names present or not need to append the default values at the end to the ADDRESS field like
    <field name="ADDRESS">default1;default2;default3</field>
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Here's a query that should answer part of the question :
    <student>
      for $i in doc("doc.xml")/student/*
      return
       <field name="{upper-case(name($i))}">
        if ($i/*) then string-join($i/*, ";")
        else $i/text()
       </field>
    </student>It deals with all possible children of the student node. If a child has descendants, then their values are aggregated like you require, else just the child value is used.
    Additional question : where do the default values come from? Do we just have to "paste" the string "default1;default2;default3" as a whole?
    HTH.

  • Mini dimensions and "single dimension" query

    Hi everyone,
    I thought it is about time to bother you with a question. :)
    I have a question about mini dimensions. In BI Apps mini dimensions are used within the dimensions like the Service Request Dimension. This dimension has two logical table sources: W_SRVREQ_D and W_SRVREQ_MD. Each logical table has a separate physical join on the fact table, i.e. the fact tables has a separate foreign key for each table.
    The Service Request hierarchy is built up by the following levels: All > SR Attributes > Service Request Detail. The mini-dimension table W_SRVREQ_MD is set on logical level "SR attributes" and W_SRVREQ_D is on logical level "SR Detail".
    "Status" is a column which is mapped to both tables and this column is on logical level SR Attributes. When I use Status and a measure from the fact table, the BI Server will hit the mini-dimension, because it is on a higher logical level. So far, so good.
    But when I create a request which only contains the column Status, the BI Server chooses the more detailed dimension table W_SRVREQ_D, instead of W_SRVREQ_MD. I'm a suprised by this, because I would expect the BI Server to use the mini dimension table.
    This can be a performance problem when a user wants to see all values from a column, for example when creating a filter. I know I can solve this with caching the dimension values, but hey.. you don't use mini dimensions for nothing! ;)
    Adding an implict fact doesn't solve the problem. The implicit fact is only used when you combine multiple columns from different dimensions. I've also checked the number of elements per level, but these are also set correctly.
    For now I don't see a solution to change this behaviour. Can anyone confirm and explain this behaviour? Does anyone have an idea how to force the BI Server to use the mini dimension table on a "single dimension" query? Thanks!
    Regards,
    Stijn

    Stijn,
    Did you ever get an answer to this?
    In addition to the scenario that you mentioned (report on Status alone) another common case is a dashboard prompt that has a drop down list box for Status. I would hope that the BI server would choose the mini-dimension instead of a distinct query on the primary dimension (service request).
    A possible solution is to add an LTS of a List of values table (LOV) that filters out only the statuses, but the problem there is that a query will result in LOV values that are not in use, whereas if the mini-dimension were used it would only result in actual statuses.
    Thanks,
    David

  • Creating Dimension and Adding Member

    Hi BPC gurus;
    I'm performing on SAP BPC MS 7.5 version
    I need to add dimension member to the dimension without bpc administration. I searched some thread about that issue, I found something but there is not much document.
    There is a two method for this process
    First way for this process >> using SSIS package
    second way >> using Data Manager (this is also SSIS)
    I tried these methods but i didn't success
    for example
    I made a dtsx package for adding member to mbr<dimensionname> table (and dim<dimensionname>) ("i added same member for both"). I added member correctly but when i checked in the report i didn't see my member.
    Can anybody help me ? ( maybe sharing documents)
    i think i need to update my dimension but how ?
    thank you.
    Regards...

    HI suatozdemir,
    If you want to add members to a dimension the this document will help you to make http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00380440-010b-2c10-70a1-e0b431255827?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true, the document shows you how to automate master data and how to update the information of a dimension.
    hope this helps you,

  • Dimension Design - Single Dimension with Multiple Hierarchies

    Morning,
    the purpose of this discussion is to understand how we should design a specific dimension with 3 levels and multiple hierarchies for optimal performance.
    We have an institution dimension with the following characteristics:
    Characteristics
    Dimension: Institution
    Levels:
    1. Total Bank (TB) Level
    2. Peer Group (PG) Level
    3. Institution Level
    Hierarchies:
    1. Some of the hierarchies have 3 levels and others have only 2 levels (Skip Level)
    2. ALL the hierarchies have a TB level and an Institution level
    3. None of the hierarchies have the same leafs
    4. Some of the hierarchies leafs can overlap
    Design:
    We are considering two approaches for the institution dimension levels:
    a)
    Levels:
    Hierarchy 1 TB Level
    Hierarchy 1 PG Level
    Hierarchy 1 Inst Level
    Hierarchy 2 TB Level
    Hierarchy 2 Inst Level
    Hierarchy 3 TB Level
    Hierarchy 3 Inst Level
    Note:
    This approach is working and the resulting dimension and cubes are used by OBIEE, but some of the OBIEE analysis takes a long time (more than a minute) to return the results.
    At this point, we are not sure whether this approach will result in an optimal design from a performance perspective and are looking at restructuring the dimension to represent only the three conceptual levels as indicated below.
    b)
    Levels:
    1. Total Bank (TB) Level
    2. Peer Group (PG) Level
    3. Institution Level
    The rest of the dimension i.e. hierarchies, attributes and mappings are defined in the same way.
    The cube associated with this dimension have approximately 80 million records.
    Please advise on any best practices or design considerations that we need to take into account.
    Thanks

    No, it is not possible to have multiple hiearchies in a PC logical dimension.
    The concept of the Parent-Child (PC) hierarchy is completely different from the level-based hierarchy. Specifically the PC hierarchy expects a predefined / architected table with corresponding PC column/value structuring with or without attributes.
    Short story even shorter it is not possible.
    Longer...
    In the RPD the BMM actually prevents you from adding a new logical level, child level, or parent level when you have selected that the logical dimension be a parent child logical dimension with Parent-Child hierarchy.
    On another note...
    Have you tried architecting/building your PC source table so that it represents the roll-up and bottom child-levels like you are seeking? That is, that same member in the child column more than once having a separate parent value. That should be doable.
    That was a great question, please award points if this answered your question or it was helpful.
    Cheers,
    Christian

    May be I took the wrong example..
    I am not talking about remote systems... I am talking about XML source file.. If the XML source file consist of single occurance of any qualifier table then those qualifier table fields are not mapping.. IF I used the base file as multiple occurance Qualifier table....
    In the same way if I use base file as single occurance of Qualifer table .. Qualifier Fields are not getting mapped if the source file is single occurance..
    Suppose :If I use the base file as this and save the map.. I am able to import files whcih are single occurance of EMAIL...
    Fields are not getting mapped if the EMAIL occurnace is multiple.....
