Mapping with changed message structure

Hello,
I have dowloaded a SAP IDOC into XI and build a mapping based on this IDOC.
Now the IDOC is enhanced with a new (Z)segment and I have dowloaded the new structure again.
But the new segment is not visible in the mapping based on that IDOC.
Do I have to create a new mapping???
Or how can I refresh the mapping, so that the new segment can be used there?
best regards
Werner Magerl

Hi Werner,
Check the following:
1.Name of the Imported OLD IDoc structure and the new one.
find out whether they are same.
2.In your existing message mapping, make sure you have used the newly imported Idoc structure.
In the edit mode of your message mapping, click on the button with a "hand and question mark".Navigate to the software component> software component version> Imported objects>Idocs>"select your new IDoc structure".
If the are any new mapping to be done for the Z segment, do it.
3.save and activate changes.

Sridhar

• Map CDATA to Message Structure

Recently, I've been asked to map generic message data embedded in a XML body's CDATA container to a complete message structure defined in XI.
When I searched on SDN, I could only find information about the other way around (wrapping XML structured data into CDATA) which is why I'm posting this thread. The solution is so easy, yet doesn't seem to be straightforward, which is why I absolutely wanted to document and share it with you.
This is the message sent to SAP PI:

<Envelope>

<To>Danny</To>
<MsgType>test</MsgType>

<hr:TestMsgRequest xsi:schemaLocation="http://tatis.com/test/schemas/ testcdata.xsd" xmlns:hr="http://danny.com/manifest/schemas/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"><hr:customer><hr:name>aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa</hr:name><hr:code>1234</hr:code><hr:address>     <hr:name>test Customer</hr:name><hr:postalcode>BE9876</hr:postalcode><hr:town>Somewhere</hr:town><hr:country>Belgium</hr:country></hr:address></hr:customer>
</hr:TestMsgRequest>

</Envelope>
As you see it consists of a Header and a Body. The Body contains the CDATA which should be unserialized and mapped to the following message structure
<customer>

1234

<postalcode>BE9876</postalcode>
<town>Somewhere</town>
<country>Belgium</country>

</customer>
I've created an xslt mapping, imported it as an archive and used the XSLT mapping in the interface mapping.
The following source code did the trick:

<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:ns0="http://tatis.com/schemas/msg/envelope/ext">
<xsl:template match="ns0:Envelope">
<xsl:value-of select="ns0:Body" disable-output-escaping="yes"/>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>
As you might have noticed during mapping testing, XI adds a namespace to your source XML structure (ns0, ns1, etc.). You should pay attention to include this namespace in the XSLT!
If you have questions, don't hesitate to drop a mail, Danny.

Hi.
Thanks. I am still not understanding.
Where did / How did you derive the ns "xmlns:ns0="http://tatis.com/schemas/msg/envelope/ext"???
Thanks.

• BOM mapping with change number error during IDoc process

Hi all,
i am creating BOM using IDoc BOMMAT04.i have checked this IDoc will use FM IDOC_INPUT_BOMMAT inside.
in this function module, it is using FM CSAP_MAT_BOM_CREATE and CSAP_MAT_BOM_MAINTAIN to create and change.
currently, creation and deletion is success. but when change, if the change number passed as an input parameter, the IDoc process error saying that the BOM header not allowed to update for read-only field.
if i not pass the change number, the change will be success, but no change number displayed in the item. that is not the user expected.
and if i delete the bom with change number, create a new BOM for the same material is not aloowed, saying that BOM already existing.
it seems that CSAP_MAT_BOM_CREATE and CSAP_MAT_BOM_MAINTAIN cannot support much. it is limited.
can anyone have any good solutions? thanks!

yeah, for the change, i have solved it.
but currently, if i delete the existing BOM with a change number, the re-creation is not allowed by the IDoc saying that the BOM already existing.
if i delete in CS02 without change number, it deleted from DB and can be re-create.
but if delete in IDoc without change number, it failed saying that local BOM can not be deleted by ALE.
do you have any solution? i want to implment in IDoc: delete existing BOM and create a new one for the same material with change number. (currently the standard IDoc FM not support BOM group)

• Problem with change/delete structure in package

Hello!
I got the task to delete a package in the ABAP Dictionary. In this package there are structures that I can´t delete. I get the following message:
You cannot edit object R3TR TABL Y1LASME with the standard editor
Choose 'Display object' or 'Cancel'.
Y1LASME is one of the structures. The other one I don´t know.
So, how is it possible to delete this structure and then to delete the package?
Thanks.

Did you do a where-used on the segment to see which extension it is still used in?
In that case the only thing you need to do is to go to transaction WE30, put in the extension name in object name, select extension radio button and go into change mode (don't forget to cancel release before doing that), then just set the cursor on your segment and cut it out, save and exit. Don't forget to set the release again.
In case the where used does say that it is not used any more than there is an inconsistency in your system or some navigation index is not up to date.
If you are 100% sure that the segment is definitely no longer used, you always have the possibility to debug :
Set a breakpoint in include MSED4F01 form routine segment_delete in line 184 (ECC6) at statement IF l_rc eq 0. which is fter the statement PERFORM segment_check_usage USING pi_object l_rc.
The l_rc should be 4, so at that point just change it to 0 and the delete part will be executed.
HOWEVER - if this segment is still used in an extension any Idoc running in or out using this extension will at least no longer work or even dump!!!
Hope that helps,
Michael

• Interface Mapping with Multiple Message Mappings

Hi My Scenario is
File to Idoc.( Multiple records to Multiple idocs )
Due to Complexity of Mapping I split the Mapping step into 2.
My Source System does not provide Namspace when they are sending XML Data.
When I try 2 mappings individually both Mappings works fine.
However when I try test using Interface Mapping target messages are not generated.
Since 2nd Mapping invoves Mapping Split its expecting extra tags as shown here in the Targert Message generated from Message Mapping 1.
<ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge">
<ns0:Message1>
How can I solve this problem ?

When I do Message Mapping:
From message Mapping 1 target Produced is as follows:

in 2nd Mapping I entered some details in the test tab and the generated source is as follows:

As you can see both of the above structures differs in xmlns. I dont see anything else weird.

• Message mapping with signature changed

Hello,
I have a mapping whose incoming and outgoing message has the same message type, let's say the message type for both in and out message is *MT_Material *. The mapping basically copy all data from in message to out message, however, the out message is only created based on certain condition. Therefore I changed the signature to define the Occurance of the out message as 0..1 while the in message has occurance of 1.
Things work fine, out message only contains data when the condition is fullfilled. However the mapping program expects incoming message like;

<ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge">
<ns0:Message1>
<ns1:MT_Material xmlns:ns1="http://mynamespace">
<MatNo>123345</MatNo>
<MatText>

<Text>esx</Text>
</MatText>
<MatText>

<Text>esxfr</Text>
</MatText>
</ns1:MT_Material>
</ns0:Message1>
</ns0:Messages>
Note the xml tags in bold are needed because of the signature change (occurance change). However the outbound interface is based on the message type of MT_Material, thus the sender will NOT send the xml tags in bold, rather following message is sent:

<ns0:MT_Material xmlns:ns1="http://mynamespace">
<MatNo>123345</MatNo>
<MatText>

<Text>esx</Text>
</MatText>
<MatText>

<Text>esxfr</Text>
</MatText>
</ns0:MT_Material>
Message in this format is NOT expected by the mapping program with changed signature, thus mapping is does NOT result in the right result.
So what should I do with it? looks like change signature doesn't make any sense because it expects different outbound message format as the one without signature changed.
Basically mapping is PI internal stuff, the sender should not be aware of it, thus sender should just send a message based on the message interface which is based on MT_Material.
what do you thnk of this?
Any

Hi Jayson
You are correct to some extent we should not force the vendor to send a tag to satisfy middleware. But if the tag is required for the business process what can be done other than forcing as a rule to vendor
As PI is a XML based tool where XML is tied to a XSD all messages need to follow XSD. Now in your requirement we need to meet the condition for generating the output. Being a middle ware PI is not meant for holding the messages or used as an end point for some communication. It works on two engines and we need to pass IS without error. Mapping will work at IS and if it failed its an error but we have to satisfy condition.
I have faced similar requirement to yours. I had routed the messages through email to vendor when no output need to be generated as they were incorrect and doesn't follow business rule of the process.
We can check with Xpath or either some the way we discussed above in case condition is not met
Thanks
Gaurav

• The XI does not send messages with correct IDOC structure

SAP XI 3.0 sends to ECC IDOC HRMD_A07
The XI does not send messages with correct IDOC structure.
In XI Design, Software Component RHEVOLU, I’ve imported the Objects
HRMD_A.HRMD_A07 from SAP ECC; In Tools -> Export Reduced XSD, I saved
HRMD_A.HRMD_A07.xsd in Namespace http://suezambiental.com.br/HR . At
Message Mapping -> mmAdmissao, in Imported Message -> Import XML or
XSD, I imported the reduced Idoc file generated above, mapping source
fields to target fields.
The IDOC sent from XI to ECC has this structure (template: 22122)
E1PLOGI
E1PORIG
E1PITYP
E1P0000
E1P0001
E1P0002
Status 53 -HR: ALE inbound processing for HR master data
But does not update HR Master data.
The structure expected in ECC side (template: 20376) is:
E1PLOGI
E1PORIG
E1PITYP
E1P0000
E1PITYP
E1P0001
E1PITYP
E1P0002
Status 53 -HR: ALE inbound processing for HR master data
By using WE19 transaction, this structure was changed manually; so, the
HR Master data was updated.
Witch kind of customizing or correction could be made in XI, to send
the correct structure to ECC?
Best Regards
Claudio

Hi Claudio,
In your case, there are perhaps two causes:
1. perhaps when you have import the idoc, for a strange reason, a bad metadata was created by XI. You can clean this one in tcode IDX2 (Idoc metadata cache).
2. but it's also probably an error in your Message Mapping. Have you correctly manage segment E1PITYP?

• Issue with XML namespace and Message structure

Hi All,
I am using Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.4. I have SOA web service application one-way messaging wherein I keep receiving messages from the third party. The issue I am facing is with the XML namespaces which conflicts with the third party's message structure. The details are as below.
Our Web-service WSDL*
<schema attributeFormDefault="unqualified" elementFormDefault="qualified"
targetNamespace="http://amb.com/cad/RealTimeService"
xmlns:cad="http://amb.com/cad/RealTimeService"
xmlns:avl="http://schemas.com/asiapac/cad/datamodel/avl/1.0.0"
xmlns:evn="http://schemas.com/asiapac/cad/datamodel/event/1.0.0"
xmlns:uni="http://schemas.com/asiapac/cad/datamodel/unit/1.0.0"
xmlns:dvt="http://schemas.com/asiapac/cad/datamodel/divert/1.0.0"
xmlns:sui="http://schemas.com/asiapac/cad/datamodel/suppinfo/1.0.0"
xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
<import namespace="http://schemas.com/cad/datamodel/avl/1.0.0"
schemaLocation="AvlCadSchema.xsd"/>
<import namespace="http://schemas.com/cad/datamodel/unit/1.0.0"
schemaLocation="UnitCadSchema.xsd"/>
<import namespace="http://schemas.com/cad/datamodel/event/1.0.0"
schemaLocation="EventCadSchema.xsd"/>
<import namespace="http://schemas.com/cad/datamodel/divert/1.0.0"
schemaLocation="HewsCadSchema.xsd"/>
<import namespace="http://schemas.com/cad/datamodel/suppinfo/1.0.0"
schemaLocation="SupplementalInformationCadSchema.xsd"/>
<element name="AvlAuxData" type="avl:AvlAuxData" nillable="true"/>
<element name="AgencyEvent" type="evn:AgencyEvent"/>
<element name="Diversion" type="dvt:HospitalDiversionMessage"/>
<element name="SupplementalInformation" type="sui:SupplementalInformation"/>
<element name="UnitDetail" type="uni:UnitDetail"/>
</schema>
Using SOAP UI tool a HospitalDiversionMessage Request for the above WSDL will look like*
<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:real="http://amb.com/cad/RealTimeService" xmlns:ns="http://schemas.com/cad/datamodel/divert/1.0.0">

</soapenv:Body>
</soapenv:Envelope>
Now the third party sends a HospitalDiversionMessage in this format_
<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:ns0="http://amb.com/cad/RealTimeService" xmlns:ns="http://schemas.com/cad/datamodel/divert/1.0.0">

</ns0:Diversion>
</soapenv:Body>
</soapenv:Envelope>
Questions*
1) I cannot figure out how the SOAPUI tool or SOA substitutes "real" as the namespace prefix for the WSDL based HospitalDiversionMessage and what I need to do at my end to match the message structure as per what the third party needs.
2) I need ns0 namespace prefix to whole of Diversion xml element. Currently it is "real" at top Diversion element and "ns" for its children
Please suggest, I can attach the other imported XSD if need be.
Thanks

Questions
1) I cannot figure out how the SOAPUI tool or SOA substitutes "real" as the namespace prefix for the WSDL based HospitalDiversionMessage and what I need to do at my end to match the message structure as per what the third party needs.The xml namespace suffixes like real and ns0 are just references used by the XML Parsers. For that matter the "real" can be xyz as well.
You dont need to make any changes as long as the xml namespace suffixes refer to the same namespace.
If you see the first soapUI xml and the third party xml have the same namespace references and hence it is not a problem:
<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:real="*http://amb.com/cad/RealTimeService*" xmlns:ns="http://schemas.com/cad/datamodel/divert/1.0.0">
<soapenv:Header/>
<soapenv:Body>
<*real*:Diversion>
<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:ns0="*http://amb.com/cad/RealTimeService*" xmlns:ns="http://schemas.com/cad/datamodel/divert/1.0.0">
<soapenv:Header/>
<soapenv:Body>
<*ns0*:Diversion>
2) I need ns0 namespace prefix to whole of Diversion xml element. Currently it is "real" at top Diversion element and "ns" for its childrenBased on this, logically both the xmls represent the same xml message. And hence you dont need to make any changes.
Please refer to the basics of xml namespaces using the following links:

I already tried with following Re: how to create target node a constant number of times

Scenario:
I have an inbound file that has three nested records.
eg. A00, B00 and C00. C00 is nested structure of B00 and B00 nested structure of A00. All these structure can repeat N number of times in a file.
How do I map this to IDoc structure that have one segment each for the three structures in the file and nested in the same way.
Question: How is the parent child relationship established?
Suppose I have a file
A00 1234 Sam 29
B00 london LE3 XYZ
B00 US 123456
C00 2 XYZ
A00 5678 Joe 22
B00 US 23456
If I make a nested structure and then say in the file conversion properties that A00 go to segA and then B00 go to segB, but then when I come back to A00, how do I move the data to the A00?
Thanks in Advance
Rgds

From what you have layed out, you can create a data type with 3 children, all 1..unbounded cardinality, each containing their own elements. You say they are nested, but the example you gave isn't nested... it's just A's followed by B's followed by C's. If that is the case, you can then use a data type w/ 3 subelements (A, B & C) and each of those is actually a container with the real attributes of that line in your file. (I can email you a schema quickly if you need it)
If you are saying they can occur like this:
A00 1234 Sam 29
B00 london LE3 XYZ
B00 US 123456
C00 2 XYZ
B00 US 23456
C00 2 XYZ
THEN they are nested - ie B's & C's repeat under any A. Then you must create segment B as a subelement of segment A instead of on the same level, then bury C under B. (I find this easiest w/ a text tool rather than inside XI, as I can cut/paste segments where I want them to belong...)
Good luck with setting up content conversion on that file adapter... We have done this a few times, and it can be quite interesting.
If you have trouble with the schema, you can post your email & I can give you a quick example.

• Interface-Mapping with a Fault Message Type

Hi,
we have an abap-proxy and some messages generated errors. The errors can be displayed via sxmb_moni. The proxy raises an "Application Error (Restart possible)".
Now I wanna transform the generated fault message (of the proxy) with a message mapping and send the output to a file.
My problem is, that it is not possible to define an interface mapping with the fault message as well as it is not possible to define a receiver determination.
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot
Regards
Wolfgang Hummel

Hello
As far as I know you can propogate the application error back to the calling application only in case of a Synch Interface? Are you making a Synch call where the proxy triggers a fault message, if yes then all you need to do is to make the change in XI to have the fault message for both the outbound and inbound message interfaces and then a corresponding fault message mapping and select this in the Interface Mapping and then the fault message will be sent to the source / calling application.
In the case of Asynch calls I don't think this is possible until you use a BPM. Have not tried this myself though.

• Mapping shipment idoc with XI internal structure.

Hi,
we are sending shipment idoc to PI system, there mapping is required like
for each Matnr of EIEDT43 , we need to map with EIEDL24-ARKTX with XI data type structure
where material number and Item description field is at same level but in idoc it is not.
Regards,
Mayank

for each Matnr of EIEDT43 , we need to map with EIEDL24-ARKTX with XI data type structure
where material number and Item description field is at same level but in idoc it is not
If i try to make out some sence out of your post ..it would be like you have an idoc to file scenario ,where you are trying to map a particular IDoc field under subsegments and for each occurance of the segment you need to create a field in target.
you can handle this easily if you try understanding context handeling in mapping.

specify your requirement clearly or frame a question.

• Change SOAP message structure

Hi,
We have SOAP adapter sending attachements but as these are always added outside SOAP structure the client needs to have them inside the soap structure.
They have their own soap structure like below but how can we change this structure and add the attachments in it?
Finally the structure should be like this :

<SOAP-ENV:
<SOAP-ENV:Header>
<Q-ENV:QHeader xmlns:Q-ENV="http://www.xxx.com/soap/">
</Q-ENV:QHeader>
</SOAP-ENV:Header>
<SOAP-ENV:Body>
<Q-ENV:QBody xmlns:Q-ENV="http://www.xxx.com/soap/">
</Q-ENV:QBody>
<Q-ENV:QAttachment xmlns:Q-ENV="http://www.xxx.com/soap/">
</Q-ENV:QAttachment>
</SOAP-ENV:Body>
</SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
where bold values are specific structures to be inserted inside SOAP message.
Best Regards,
Laurent.

Hello Abhishek,
Actually this problem has already been resolved.
The solution was to uncheck 'Do not use soap envelope' and to change the xsd structure with a new defined structure where the soap envelope was defined as requested by the receiver. This way the SOAP or HTTP adapter can be used the same way.
Best regards,
Laurent.

• I cannot open itunes. I updated the software yesterday but it stopped working half way though use and now every time i try openeing it it comes up with the message 'allow programme to make changes to your computer?' and on clicking yes doesnt do anything.

On using my latop yesterday, i opened itunes and it gave me the option to update to the new software, which i was happy to do. I went through all the stages on installing the software and it opened up for use.
On using the software to download new music, i found it was freezing quite a lot and just in general wouldnt work. I closed the prgramme after having to use task manager as it wouln't respond. I then re-opened the programme and it came up with the message 'Do you wish to allow this prgramme to make changes to your computer?' i automatically said yes and expected itunes to open however, it didn't. I ran through troubleshoot compatibility however the issue found said 'Incompatibe application' to which i didnt know what it meant.
I've tried everything to make it work. Re-starting the computer, going on unistalling the programme and repairing it but, nothings worked.
I dont want to unistall the programme because i dont want to lose my music. I need a way to fix the programme without unistalling it.
Can anyone help??

I have already copied my photographs to the a library manager but when I tried to reuse iphoto and import the photos back into iphoto, it would not let me.
You can't "copy" your photos to the "library manager", there is just no way to any such thing.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

• File to file with out message mapping and using variable substitution

Hi,
Can any one send me a scenario where we can have file to file scenario with out message mapping and where i can use variable substitution.
As of now i am using integrate configurations where i cant use variable substitution as the message does not reflect in integration engine. I need to populate time stamp between <filename><timestamp>.txt.pgp
I am as of now using configuration scenario.
The time stamp always writes before the last file extension.
Let me know your thoughts?
Thanks,
Chandra.

Hi Chandra,
u can use the Variable substitution even without IR contents also(Mapping....).
in the receiver communication channel just specify the path u want to access for a value...
eg: filename                             payload:mt_name,1,records,1,name,1
and in th file name give it as %filename%.txt... or vt ever ur requirement
