Mapviewer Configuration on Jdeveloper

Hi,
I have downloaded Mapviewer kit (mapviewer_11ea1.zip) from OTN site. I am trying to develop new web application to render map data stored on oracle spatial using JDeveloper. For now question is where i have to add this mapviewe.ear file into Jdevelpor to get MapViewer bean that is to import oracle.lbs.mapclient.MapViewer. I ma using JDeveloper version 10.1.3
Thanks,
Sujnan

Hi,
I have followed the following steps to develop new mapviewer application.
1) First I downloaded mapviewer_11ea1.zip from otn site.
2) Extracted above file to get mapviewer.ear.
3) Then again i extracted mapviewer.ear file. Now i got the following jar files
adf-faces-api.jar
adf-faces-impl.jar
adfshare.jar
chartbuilder.jar
classgen.jar
commons-beanutils.jar
commons-collections.jar
commons-digester.jar
commons-logging.jar
jsf-api.jar
jsf-impl.jar
jstl.jar
lbs.jar
mapcache.jar
mapviewer.jar
mvclient.jar
mvconsole.jar
mvmbeans.jar
sdoapi.jar
sdogr.jar
sdonm.jar
sdoutl.jar
sdovis.jar
standard.jar
wmsfilter.jar
4) Then I added these files into my application library.[By right clicking ViewController->Project properties->Library]
5) Copied mapViewerConfig.xml into WEB_INF\conf directory
6) In mapViewerConfig.xml file i have changed the "save_images_at" and "map_data_source" tag
Now my application is working fine
But if I remove this mapViewerConfig.xml then my application would not works. It will throw the excption for mapViewer.addThemesFromBaseMap(strBaseMap); saying that Theme list is not found.
Is these steps are right to develop real time application on oracle spatial and mapviewer?
Thanks,
Sujnan

Is this happening with every new project you create or only with the one you already have?
If it happens with every project, you might want to just try installing JDev in a new directory and see if this solves the problem.
If it is just with one project try to see what is in the project settings box.

  • How to use mapviewer extension for jdevelop?

I am working on the mapviewer. But my problem is that I can not connect mapviewer, or I can not start mapviewer using the embedded oc4j by jdeveloper. In mapviewer faq I read that:
"How do I view the mapping metadata through JDeveloper's Connections Navigator?
We have developed an Oracle JDeveloper extension that lets you browse the available list of styles, themes and basemaps defined in a datasource through JDeveloper's Connections Navigator. To do this, you will first need to download the mvconnection.jar file from OTN's MapViewer site. This jar contains the code that defines a MapViewer connection type for JDeveloper. To install, simply drop this jar file to the JDeveloper extension directory, normally $JDEV_HOME/jdev/lib/ext. Then restart JDeveloper, and you are all set.
But when I restart jdeveloper, I got the message:
    "H:\Programme\jdev\jdev\lib\ext\mvpalette.jar!\META-INF\jdev-ext.xml
Error: jar:file:/H:/Programme/jdev/jdev/lib/ext/mvpalette.jar!/META-INF/jdev-ext.xml<Line 105, Column 18>: XSD-2021: (Error) Element not completed: 'jsplibrary'

I use Jdeveloper 10g. Have you ever met the same problem?
    Thanks in advance

The Map Viewer extension is still not available for JDeveloper 10g. It works with JDeveloper 9.
The Mapping group is currently working on an upgrade.

  • How to configure the jdeveloper 11 with .dbc files?

    hi, all
i am a new bie here. 4 jdeveloper 10, i can configure the .dbc files at project setting, while 4 jdeveloper 11, it's totally different. i can't find any place to configure it. How to configure the .dbc in jdeveloper 11?
    Regards,
    Chelsea

You cant use jdev 11g for OAF development..
You need to download the jdeveloper patch from metalink to develope OAF objects.
Refer this metalink note to find the correct version of jdeveloper that you need to download https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=416708.1

  • Database adapter MCF configuration for jDeveloper

    Hi All-
Help me to understand the mcf configuration in database adapter wsdl.
When we develop BPEL process, the database adapter wsdl file has mcf configuration mentioned in it from the connection we made in jDeveloper. wsdl file also has JNDI locaton which we actually need to define in application control of SOA suite which in runtime gets the database detail from application control of SOA suite, not from mcf details.
It always recomended to remove the mcf, is it because if the JNDI mention is not defined in the SOA application control, it may look for the mcf configuration too and if found it will fire the database connection mentioned at design time.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sreejit

    Hi Sreejit,
Please note that the .mcf properties has dependency on JDeveloper. As it is currently, the .mcf properties only have relevance on the platform on which the process was developed.
The process can only be worked on by another developer on another platform if these properties remain in place. If deleted, the connection information can no longer be edited in the wizard, and so the connection is effectively hardcoded. This unnecessarily complicates the development process since it results in multiple versions of a single BPEL process as it moves throughout the
development lifecycle and into Production, adding signficant busy work on top of the normal development activities. Moreover, these properties are a JDeveloper/Oracle convention and not part of the open standard WSDL specification.
    Hope this helps!

  • Ann: New MapViewer Extensions for JDeveloper 10g

We are pleased to annouce the availability of a new MapViewer extension kit for JDeveloper 10g (9.0.5.1 or later versions).
Please download the kit from the following MapViewer page:
    http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/mapviewer/index.html
    Thanks
    LJ

Yes currently the extension is strictly a top-level browsing tool with no mapping metadata drill down/editing capabilities.
Those features are being planned for the next major release of this extension kit, as part of our major effort to rewrite the map definition tool. there is however no ETA yet.

  • JCA DBAdapter configuration using JDeveloper 11g

    hello,
I cannot create correct wsdl files for the jca WSDL-based business service :-(
I try to use JCA dbAdapter in OSB 10.3.1
    following guideliness from
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/jcatransport/transport.html
    and
OSB DBAdapter Demo (but it refers to JDev 10gR3 :-( which allows creation of DBAdapter component)
in Jdev 11g, I can create such components only inside SOA project
and no bindings are generated inside the wsdl (they are in composite.xml)
is there a way to automatically use the wizard to create the correct wsdl (or I have to write it on my own)
    thanx in advance
    regards
    yannis
Edited by: ydes on May 11, 2010 1:01 PM

    Hi Yannis,
You can use the DB Adapter created with JDeveloper 11g on OSB 11g.
The only difference from OSB/JDev 10g is that you will import a JCA file (along with WSDL and its dependencies) from JDev 11g into OSB 11g.
Then you just need to right click on the JCA file and select 'Oracle Service Bus / Generate Service' and OEPE will automatically create the business service and the respective wsdl.
    Hope it helps.

  • Error while doing BAM configuration in JDeveloper

    Hi,
I tried to create a connection to my local BAM Server in JDev 10.1.3.2.0 and also in 10.1.3.3, but I always failed! Error messages:
"Server is not set up correctly SOA1"
I'm running on Windows 2003 and installed BAM according to the Installation Guide (version was Bam with Enterprise Link for windows 10.1.3.3.0).
I did not get any error while doing the other setups and can access the different BAM tools via the Oracle BAM Start page, but I can't create a connection in JDev. I used the following parameters:
    Host Name: SOA1(system name)
    Port Number: 80
    User Name: Administrator
    Password: <windows domain pwd>
    Domain Name: DOMAINNAME
Any help would be highly appreciated.

  • Wrong XQuery Launch Configuration in Jdeveloper Java Edition?

    Hi,
i want to use xquery from JDeveloper Java Edition.
I have a simple application with one project. I added the XML, XML schema and xquery feature my simple customer.xml and customer.xq
    Then i try to run customer.xq and get " java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/xquery/XQException"
In the log is a classpath that points to nowhere e.g. the classpath in the log shows C:\source\oracle_common\modules\oracle.xdk_11.1.0\xquery.jar but the real file is under c:\source\jdeveloper\modules\oracle.xdk_11.1.0
where can i set the "oracle_common" path?
I just unzipped the downloaded zipfile jdevjava11120.zip
    thanks

Maybe this is a Bug in the JDeveloper Release?
It is the Generic Release Java Edition: 11.1.2.0.0 for Windows.
Just unzipped it and set the MW_HOME var to my directory (no spaces in path).
I need the xquery feature and dont want to install the big studio edition.

  • Sharing JDeveloper IDE setup/configuration

    Hi
I was wondering if someone know if there is an easy way to make sure that more installations of JDeveloper is configured the same, so that a new developer dos not have to download extensions seperatly, setup repository and so on?
    Thank for you input :-)

The configuration of JDeveloper is kept in the system folder.
And when you start a new JDeveloper you are asked if you want to upgrade from an existing install - which let you point to an existing system directory.
(Start JDeveloper with the -migrate option on the command line).
So if you configure one JDev, copy the system directory to a central location, the other JDev's can upgrade from that system directory.
