Maryland Tax Lien Success 2015 - Vacated/Withdrawn/Deleted

I want to thank everyone on the board. I have learned a lot over the past couple of months since I joined, and aggressively working to fix my credit profile and drastically increase my FICO scores. I have a great success I want to share since I owe the success to several people here who gave very succinct and accurate information on getting a tax lien removed. I know every state is different, but my dealing with the state of MD was fast and easy.  After reading here how and whom to contact in MD, I wrote a very detailed email to the Comptoller of MD on Sunday 6/5/15, asking for a 2008 released tax lien ($1196) to be VACATED AND WITHDRAWN. On Monday the next day, I received a very nice reply stating that my email had been forwarded to the Comptroller Compliance section, and that I should here from a particular person soon. In the email, the responsder gave me the name and email of the person in charge in Compliance. I then resent my orignal email to her on Monday morning. On Tuesday the next day, I received a reply that a letter to VACATE and WITHDRAW the lien had been sent to the respective court, AND the same letter would be sent to all three CRAS, and I should receive my copy in ten days. I received the lpromised etter on 6/17 or 6/18. It was actually dated 6/5/15, the day of my original email request.  Talk about a quick response time.  On Wednesday 6/22/15, I braced myself for what I assumed would be a herculean task in dealing with the CRAs. It was not. I contacted Experian first and explained I had a letter to VACATE and WITHDRAWN a tax lien from the MD Comptroller, which had also sent them the letter. The Experiean associate was very polite and said that my tax lien would fall off in August 2015. I told her I wanted it OFF my record ASAP, and that they needed to delete it ASAP since it was no longer valid or on the public record. I asked for a fax # to send Experian the letter (which I did) AND she gve me the website location to also upload the letter. I faxed and uploaded the letter to Experian. I followed the same process with Equifax and Tansunion. The Equifax associate said the lien would fall off in February 2016. I politely stated, I wanted it OFF my record ASAP, and that they needed to delete it ASAP since it was no longer valid or on the public record. I asked for a fax # to send EQ and TU the letter (which I did) AND was given each website location to also upload the letter as part of the dispute process. I faxed and uploaded the letter to both EQ and TU. Great news: I received an email from TU on 6/30/15, stating that my dispute had been resolved and the lien had been deleted from my credit profile. I called EQ on 6/29 and was told that the lien had been deleted on 6/27.  On 7/1 I received a letter from EX stating that the lien had been deleted.  The great news for me and my take away for everyone else in a similar situation, particularly if you have a released or paid MD tax lien is that the process is very easy and doable. In little over 3 weeks I was able to get it Vacated/Withdrawn/Deleted, after thinking it might be on my record for quite some time.  P.S. I would also like to encourage everyone in a similar situation to not be discouraged and dejected. I believe you might have an unpaid, but released tax lien, which you can still get Vacated/Withdrawn/Deleted. Why? In learning about tax liens, I noticed a released lien, might mean it was paid, or it might mean the state dropped the case, or decided to not pursue it for some statuatory, time or other reason. But if it is released, it is released. Period. And the reason for the release is stated on the MD Court Registry. So pursue the process and be free!  My EX went up 5 points. TU went up 3. EQ went down 28. When I called EQ they could not explain the fall. I will be pestering them on Monday after the holiday. I want those hard earned 28 points back now.  P.S.S. I learned a lot, read a lot, and found out a lot about other people's past public records in working to get my public record 7 year tax lien disappeared.  I'm free and rejoicing!  P.S.S. I have only 1 other negative thing on my credit profile, and just this Wednesday  (1 week after contacting the CRAs to delete the lien) it too was resolved shockingly. Once it is removed I will update with my story. I really prayed a lot in the days leading up to contacting the biggest telecom/wireless carrier to have the wisdom and opportunity to talk with someone friendly and with an open mind and ear, about how to deal with getting a $149 chargeoff deleted or PFD if the bill was mine.  Happy 4th of July Holiday.

Hi, I read your story and I have a very similar situation. I just paid off my MD tax lien and received a Release of Lien letter from the state. I sent a copy of the letter to all credit bureaus and followed up with a phone call. I was able to get in touch with TU, EX, but EQ does not have a phone number I can find. While speaking to the other bureaus  they informed me that although the lien may be satisfied, it would be on my credit reports for 7 years. I'm not sure what I did or not do but where do I go from here? Your response is greatly appreciatedRedeyz wrote:

  • NJ State Tax Lien Satisfied

I just received a letter that one of two state tax liens has been satisfied.  What happens next?  Will the state communicate to the CRB's or do I have to contact them? Will my score increase? Thanks in advance!

I know that most Tax Liens will say RELEASED on your paper you get from the county records office. The big word that you have to watch for is EXTINGUISHED after it says RELEASED.  ex. RELEASED & EXTINGUISHED.  That means the record of the Tax Lien has been paid and deleted from the court records and therefore can't legally be on your credit reports. It took me ages to fight this with Equifax, until the Court House wrote me a letter verifying that my Tax Lien doesn't exist. I forwarded the letter to Equifax to take it off, and they did asap. The credit bureaus get the information from databases they subscribe to. The databases are not always updated(In my situation). They don't tell you any of this information until you do some very deep investigating.  Remember that if it just says RELEASED, you won't get anywhere with the credit bureaus. I have to say that Transunion and Experian took it off ages ago when I showed them my Tax Lien paper showing it was EXTINGUISHED.  I would give them a high five if I could. They told me that EXTINGUISHED to them, meant that it was deleted---Go Figure--. It looks like California only does a RELEASED. But it won't hurt if you write them a letter asking if it can be EXTINGUISHED. Forgot to mention I did 3 complaints with Equifax on CFPB and 2 on BBB before I got the letter from the court.Grafton88 wrote:

Good luck!  I have a NY state tax lien that was admittedly by the NY state tax department filed in error, supposed to be vacated over a month ago.  It was for a tax bill we didn't even owe, (hence being vacated).  Now it's turned into this big ordeal.  NY state says they sent the court the vacate notice 10 days ago, the court says they never got it, and both offices are saying "there is nothing they can do".  It is such a nightmare!  I'm going to actually call a tax advocate tomorrow, see if they can help.  Sorry, that turned into a rant.  I guess all I can add is if you're in NY, you're in for a long process.UPDATE:  Just for grins this morning I checked the court's records online.  The vacate FINALLY came through!  Yay!    I'm going to print that baby out and send it to the credit bureaus ASAP.  I'll let you all know what happens to my score.  This lien was my last really bad derog, (still have a couple of old collections), so I hope to see a nice bump.

  • CA FTB State Tax Lien - Updated Status

Disputed with all 3 bureaus the status of my lien (paid off earlier this month and "released").  EQ: no update as of yet.  TU: Updated to "paid". EX: Updated to "paid/released".  EX sent me a complete report with the following notation: "UNPAID tax liens will remain on the personal credit report for up to 10 YEARS from the filing date.  PAID tax liens will remain for up to 7 YEARS from the filing date". Basically, my current lien (filed in 2009) will now be deleted in Jan. 2016.  My only recourse at this point is to obtain a "Lien Withdrawal" from the State of CA which I have already requested.  I want this last baddie removed NOW! Wish me luck in getting the behemoth CA FTB to cooperate.

I am thinking "positive thoughts" and will post the outcome when I hear back from the State.  UPDATE: 5-12-15 Finally heard back from CA FTB: "They DO NOT process lien withdrawals unless there was a mistake in the initial filing of the lien by their agency". Bottomline, a paid lien (which I completed) will remain for 7 years after paid/released!  As my lien was filed in 2009, EX indicates it will be removed in Jan. 2016, yet TU says it will remain until 2019, and EQ has not given a drop date.  I will continue to show a PR on my reports although it indicates "released". Other than a little higher current utilization, my scores still continue to slowly rise, but not as much if this black mark wasn't on there.  So all you Cali residents better work real hard to NEVER have a state tax lien filed against you! IMO this State bureau is worse than the IRS!

  • Collection on State Tax Liens - Statue of Limitations in Indiana?

Noticed a State Tax Lien (Individual) on my credit report. Called the Indiana Dept. of Revenue and they said it's from my 2000 tax filings according to the rep. I was polite, but they immediately started pushing for me to go ahead and "take care of this right now over the phone - ie: make a payment". So, I then started to question the rep and that's when I think I rattled him. If you look at the two articles below, IC 34-11 deals with Statue of Limitations in Indiana. In IC 34-11-1, it says "other statutes of limitation may appear outside this article. As added by P.L.1-1998, SEC.6" - however, I couldn't find any other references outside this article. So, if I ready IC 34-11-1-2, it says that "actions" (in this case collection attempts) on a tax lien "must be brought within ten (10) years."...  IC 34-11 (ARTICLE 11. LIMITATION OF ACTIONS)
IC 34-11-1 CHAPTER 1. Statutes of Limitations Generally
Compilation of statutes of limitation not exhaustive Sec. 1. This article is not intended to be an exhaustive compilation
of all statutes of limitation in the Indiana Code. In addition to the statutes of limitation that appear in this article, other statutes of
limitation may appear outside this article. As added by P.L.1-1998, SEC.6
    IC 34-11-1-2
Cause of action arising on, before, or after September 1, 1982 Sec. 2. (a) A cause of action that:
    (1) arises on or after September 1, 1982; and
    (2) is not limited by any other statute;
must be brought within ten (10) years.
    (b) A cause of action that:
    (1) arises before September 1, 1982; and
    (2) is not limited by any other statute;
must be brought within fifteen (15) years.
    (c) This section does not apply whenever a different limitation is
    prescribed by statute.
As added by P.L.1-1998, SEC.6. To me, it looks like if this really was a tax lien from 2000, any efforts they would have made to collect on this would need to be made within 10 years. I also asked the rep to send me paperwork of the Judgement or something else proving I owed this tax. The rep then tells me he can send me the original letter they sent (to a wrong address I might add). Anyone have any thoughts?

See Indiana Code 6-8.1-8-2(f) for statute of limitations on liens imposed under a judgment:  "A judgment obtained under this section is valid for ten (10) years from the date the judgment is filed. The department may renew the judgment for additional ten (10) year periods by filing an alias tax warrant with the circuit court clerk of the county in which the judgment previously existed."

  • Repeating successful uploads - procedure to delete all the requests/packets

    Hi friends,
I have a sort of hypothetical question, so never mind if this makes sense in real life (actually, I can think of a few situations where it makes sense, but only as a last resort).
Let's say I want to repeat the upload that was successful (request is green in the cube). Or another point of view, let's say I want to delete all successful uploads except the initial one. The load is delta load and straight from R/3 into the cube (no DSOs or other objects in between).
What do I need to do/check? I obviously need to delete the requests in the cube, but where else can the data be stored? PSA is probably the first place to check, but it seems to be empty most of the times. How do I delete all the data from the PSA? The BI delta queue is always empty when I look at it from the Administration menu. Again, must I delete it and how? I guess I should delete the delta queue in R/3 as well (through SBIW)?
How do I do the same thing when there ARE other objects (like DSOs) before the cube?
Thanks in advance for your advice/help.
    Kind regards,
    K.

    Probably it does not )
Anyway, i was thinking of a hypothetical situation where an administrator accidentally repeats an upload at some point and thus doubles the figures. Then he does not notice it immediately and the system keeps loading requests for some time.
I actually wanted to predict a solution to this problem, since it would be difficult (if not impossible) to find the duplicate records, especially after "compress". I thought that simply deleting all the requests and reloading through normal delta would solve this hypothetical situation. But again, where and how to delete all (and be sure you deleted all) to ensure that the records will not be doubled.

  • TUB 184 change for Maryland  (Tax Type 001)

    Hi,
We have applied TUBS 184 in the system however system not working for Maryland as per TUB 184 where the change is for Tax type 001 (Increases the annual minimum wage threshold FROM $8,950 TO $9,350 for formula numbers 3 (FN:3) and 4 (FN:4). Note:  This change is effective immediately.)
Could anybody pls let me know where do we maintain these changes for the minimum wage threshhold ?
If it Is it BSI Taxfactory where in that, or in other SAP table?
    Waiting for reply,
    Saurabh Gar

    Hello Saurabh,
Mostly these changes are applied automatically. You don't need to maintain manually.
Did you check the SAP Tub note for 184? Check to see if there is any change required manually.

  • Cannot create subsite successfully - PublishingPageLayout "missing or deleted"

An overzealous site admin got a little carried away and corrupted their site collection by somehow deleting or renaming the column "PublishingPageLayout" based on the ULS logs.
My question is, how would one restore this column to an operational state?  The ULS logs are posted below for reference:

As always, thank you for your time and consideration in helping me troubleshoot my issue.

I have finally figured out the solution to this issue.  The Site Collection feature could not be deactivated properly but did not throw an error except in ULS.  After some consultation, I have the following code you can run in SharePoint Management
Shell to force the features to deactivate and then re-activate:
stsadm -o deactivatefeature -filename publishingresources\feature.xml -url [Site Collection URL] -force
stsadm -o deactivatefeature -filename publishingSite\feature.xml -url [Site Collection URL] -force
stsadm -o deactivatefeature -filename publishingweb\feature.xml -url [Site Collection URL] -force
stsadm -o deactivatefeature -filename publishinglayouts\feature.xml -url [Site Collection URL] -force
stsadm -o deactivatefeature -filename navigation\feature.xml -url [Site Collection URL] -force
stsadm -o deactivatefeature -filename publishing\feature.xml -url [Site Collection URL] -force
stsadm -o deactivatefeature -id A392DA98-270B-4e85-9769-04C0FDE267AA -url "[Site Collection URL]" -force
This finally allowed me to clear the offending, corrupt column and "reinstall" Publishing features on the site.
    My issue is resolved.

All my contacts and bookmarks were not changed. Multitasking works like a charm. Great job Apple.

I agree! I had a hard time doing the update for a few hours because it would start, take forever, then it would say there was an error and I had to re-start. Finally I just removed Itunes and re-nstalled it and bam! I was able to download/install 4.0 in about 15 mintues flat and it works PERFECTLY! Still can't wait to upgrade to the brand new Iphone too!!!

I had to submit my final exam for my college class before 11:59 and I finished earlier than that so I finished on my iPad and went on my Mac to export it to Word and I took it out of iCloud not knowing what disaster was going to occur. It turns out the file had half of the essay on there. Meaning I cried and now I am hoping nothing bad happens to me because I couldn't turn in that very important final exam essay that I was working on all day.
Thank you Apple for a very confused, frustrated, and depressed college student.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Do you have Time Machine or any other backups in place.
Whilst it won't help you recover documents that have already become corrupt, can I suggest you get into the habit of backing up your documents in the cloud regularly.

  • How can I delete a dir which has sub-dir's ?

    Dear list,
Can some one send me a link or send me a code example of how to delete all the sub- directories in a specified directory. My dir has sub-directories which contain files!
If I use the java.io package I must loop all the sub- directories, and java.io.File.delete() wont delete a dir when it contains files, so I will have to go into each sub-dir and delete the files before deleting the sub-dir. This is going to be a lot of code, and YES ! I am a little lazy!
Is there a java package, with a method, where I can just delete a dir, which just deletes it and ALL its contents ?
    regards
    BB

        // Delete an empty directory
        boolean success = (new File("directoryName")).delete();
        if (!success) {
            // Deletion failed
}If the directory is not empty, it is necessary to first recursively delete all files and subdirectories in the directory. Here is a method that will delete a non-empty directory.     // Deletes all files and subdirectories under dir.
// Returns true if all deletions were successful.
// If a deletion fails, the method stops attempting to delete and returns false.

  • Error account (GL a/c NO:)  has been set as not relevent for tax

    Hi,
While posting MIRO  throughing error message " Error account (GL a/c NO:)  has been set as not relevent for tax "
Kindly guide how to resolve the issue
    Thanks & Regards
    Lakshmi Kanth Reddy

    Hi Reddy,
System throws up the message because the GL account you have entered has not made Tax relevant in the Control tab.  2 things I would like to point out -
    a)  Should you need the tax code for the particular GL account, then change the GL account master and make it relevant for tax.
    b)  If the tax code is not needed, then delete from the MIRO transaction and then post the document.
Important point -  Mostly for all the MIRO transactions, tax code is made relevant for tax in the GL master.
    Hope this helps.

  • Deletion/Change of Business Partner Relationship

    All,
We are having a issue regarding replication of partner relationship changes from R/3 to CRM. Partner deletions/changes in R/3 are not replicated in CRM. We do not do any customer master changes in CRM.
If a Ship-to is deleted in R/3 the BDoc comes in and posted successfully in CRM but deletion of partner does  not happen in CRM. Also noticed that the BDoc has TASK = "M" instead of "D". If I manually change it in the debugger (in R/3 Plug-in FM), the relationship is deleted. Is there any customizing entry I need to maintain to replicate this change from R/3 to CRM.
Also, the changes are not replicated if a relationship is changed from one Ship-to to another. The BDoc is posted successfully, the new ship to is added but the previous one is not removed.
Any insights would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • Withholding tax calculation

    Hi SAP expert
While configuring exteneded witholding tax how to make sure that tax is deducted only properly at the time of advance payment and invoice ,i.e, how to avoid double deduction of tax both at the time of  advance payment and invoice. suppose there is downpayment of Rs. 100000.00 to contractor and Rs. 150000.00 invoice is raised. Principly if we have already deducted Tax on Rs. 100000.00 only on balance Rs. 50000.00 tax should be deducted at the time of invoice.
    2. In vendor master we enter w/tax types and codes for invoice or payment or both. Please clarify.
    thanks
    S AP

    Hi,
<b>If i am processing advance payment 1st i will make payment net of tax and while invoicing i can delete the payment relating tax code.</b>
<i>Yes! you can avoid tax being deducted at the time of invoice by giving 0 against both the Down Payment code and Invoiceing WHT codes in the WHT Tab of FB60.</i>
<b>Suppose i am invoicing 1st how i will make payment partial or full without tax as tax is already deducted 1st in advance.</b>
<i>Pl. rephrase your question when you 1st do invoice, how can you make a down payment later.
If you make first Invoice, the TDS is made at the time of Invoice, in this case in WHT Tab put 0 against the DP Tax code. Net amount will be credited in the vendor account.</i>
<b>Where is the option to deselect tax codes.</b>
<i>You need not delete the Tax code while processing the transaction you can put 0 against the tax code which are not applicable for the transaction.</i>.
In your earliet question there is another way of doing it..
When you make down payment of Rs.100000, you deduct the TDS and when you make invoice of Rs.150000, you can put 0 against the DP tax code and Rs.150000 against the INV tax code.
When you settle the Down Payment to the Invoice the tax entries passed at the time of DP will get reversed and the TDS accounts will contain the TAX amounts for Rs.150000 only.
Even if you have made the payment of TDS on DP the balance of TDS on Rs.50000 only will be processed at the time of payment of TDS on Invoice.
    Thanks
