Mass ADF Application Deployment using JDeveloper

I really hope there is a simple answer for this...
I have a 'suite' of Oracle ADF applications (they use ADF Faces + ADF Business Components + JHeadstart technology) that I would like to mass-deploy / mass-redeploy to our Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.3).
What is the easiest solution that will let me just say "GO!" and thus deploy all 17 individual web applications to the server? For the longest time I have been just individually deploying each application through each individual WAR Deployment Profile (*.deploy) that each application has. Now, I need a less tedious way to perform this maintenance.
Thanks.

Hi,
Are you using the ANT/JDev integration to do this? I've never tried it, but in the last part of the video http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/viewlets/1013/agile_development_viewlet_swf.html it seems like there are deployment tasks available in the integrated ANT with JDeveloper.
Sorry I can't provide any specific insights - perhaps someone else has done this?
John

  • Deployment of an ADF application with use's the JAAS

    hi all,
i built an ADF application and used the JAAS based authentication and authorization and every thing works fine on the embedded oc4j for the Jdev, but when i deployed the application to the application server the authentication is apparently disabled since it's open the jsp pages without redirecting to the login page as usual on the embedded oc4j, so what should i configure on the AS oc4j ?
since i created all roles and users ans premissions on the application side how can i configure the AS oc4j to the system-jazn-data.xml?
i updated the security provider and it doesn't work.

my major problem is that i built the whole Application on the Jdev and it's internal OC4J, so how can i deploy it on the AS without repeating my work??
and a second question , with the ear file it self is the polices the i gave to each role configured in it??? can i just add the roles and users on the AS OC4J and i ll find the authorization i did already on the Application level??

  • Please need Help with web application deployment in Jdeveloper 12c

    Hi,
I am desperate for help guys. am trying to deploy a web application in weblogic server, but nothing works!!
I created a project in jdeveloper and created a jsp page inside the project, all what i want is to run that page!
I followed the instruction here: Deploying Fusion Web Applications , I don't really know if i did it right or wrong, the document is too detailed and not understood clearly.
I am a newbie oracle user, and trying to build jsp web application connected to oracle database. application deployment fails it says: cannot run application error deploying IntegratedWeblogic..
please could you tell me the steps of application deployment in Jdeveloper 12c?
what deployment profiles I need to create (ear, war , mar)?
what deployment descriptor I need for my app to work?
please guys I am newbie to oracle, if you could give me simplified answers and straight instructions it will be appreciated .
    thank you

    hi Timo,
I am building a local web application, meaning the server is internal and will not connect to the web, only to local pcs via network. the application will insert/select data from the database server. My company wants to embed oracle technology on the datatabse and that what am trying to. I am not that expert in java and oracle in general, my main knowledge are in php, html and mysql programming. through my long internet research a lot has recommended jsp with html to be a good choice.
At beginning I played around with ADF faces, I found it annoying because I prefer coding than using drag and drop interfaces, which always create unwanted results.
Also am not that professional java programmer, i started learning jsp and found it easier.
What I am thinking of is to make a web based application that works in browsers (like php), this application has forms to insert data, and also has forms to output data for printing. that's all. I tried to make it in php, but through my little knowledge and internet researches it seems php does not work with oracle and java is the recommended choice (or it works with php but too complicated to make it)
any recommendation will be much appreciated
    thank you

  • ADF application deployed to Weblogic producing runtime error

    Hi all,
We are trying to deploy a new ADF application built by JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0 to a standalone weblogic (*version 10.3.1.0*)
The app deploys and runs on integrated wls without any problems, and deploys to the standalone wls without any warnings or errors, but does not run on standalone wls :(
    I checked many possible errors and tried many possible solutions, including, but not limited to;
--> Checked tag references and page components on jsp/jspx pages, deleted unused or possibly unsupported tags from pages and taglibs from ui project (trinidad components 1.2), but still I get the error
--> Using 2 different machines with JDev 11.1.1.5 we created test applications with same tech stack, tag libraries and tag references, deployed to standalone wls and they run without problems (!)
--> Checked web.xml, the file contents and references are the same as of other applications whic are deployed from same environment to the same standalone wls and running without problems (these applications are referenced as "other working applications" following this line)
--> In sessions.xml, the db connection is default, the file includes 2 references <server-platform xsi:type="weblogic-10-platform"/> and <primary-project xsi:type="xml">META-INF/tlMap.xml</primary-project>
--> All projects (Model and view) are cleaned and rebuilt, deployment files are recreated, application ear is recreated, runtime application name and context root name ise changed, but still no luck, I get the same error
--> Project technology stacks are checked and all tech stacks are configured same as "other working apllications" (since their technical architectures are the same)
--> Checked application datasources; database connections of this application automatically create datasources, for connection dbconn1 there exists a datasource named dbconn1DS as a module in the deployed application. Other working applications had datasources with same name; to prevent a possible conflict in JNDI names of these datasources I changed the name of the db connection to a unique name, deleted the old connection and datasource. But still no luck, error is still SAME.
--> Test applications (which have trinidad components 1.2 as tag library and there are references to it from page files) run on standalone wls, removing this taglib and the references does not make a difference. But the real application gives error when trinidad is removed from the tag libraries (java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: resetADFContext)
--> Created new jspx pages which are not using backing beans and tried to access these, but I received the SAME error for these pages as well. Removed all jspx pages except the dummy test pages, and still no change.
One final note; html pages in the project open without problems, as their url are different from the jspx files ( "host/appName/Test.html instead" of "host/appName/faces/Test.jspx" ) and when these pages open, the server log and console indicates new sessions created by this request.
This is the famous error I get on the server log every time I try to access a jspx file:

Could anybody please help, where to focus to see the REAL indications and solutions of this annoying error? Soon I will get this application to production environment, so any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance...

    Ok, I think I should give the update, on how I struggled to solve the problem;
--> I did NOT update the wls, since it is the production server and has many applications and services running on it , I could not take the risk of breaking those.
--> I migrated, or rewrote the application on JDeveloper 11.1.1.1.0, rewrote the toplink map file, descriptors, pageDefs bla bla, to make it compatible with wls 10.3.1.0.
--> Then I tested the app on JDev 11.1.1.1.0 ok, then opened the same application on JDev 11.1.1.5.0 then tested ok....
--> And I deployed the application from JDev 11.1.1.5.0 to the standalone wls, and this is where the magic happened, the app worked without error on standalone wls 10.3.1.0
+( Just a note: I really wonder, where is the backward, or forward compatibility of ide and server runtimes? )+
Anyway, it is a big lesson for me about choosing the ide version for a specific server.
    Thank you...

  • ADF application deployed on Weblogic..access denied error

I have deployed an ADF application on WebLogic Server. My ADF application is using multiple application modules. I have also created a datasource using Oracle XA driver to connect to the database. Now I am able to login to my application and on one page getting the details from the database. This makes sure that there is no problem with database connectivity. However, when I click on a hyperlink I get a jspx page which only shows the field names. I am not getting any field values and ADF BC table row shows "Access Denied" message. This did not happen on Oracle AS. I am using examplesServer (Admin) server of weblogic. I have deployed my application on other machines and also tried to connect to different databases but all leading to the same problem. Also, If I click on any link after that, I get this error:

    Also,
I checked the "monitoring" window of my datasource on weblogic server and saw that there are no failed database connections. So, the problem of a broken database connectivity can be ruled out.

  • Problem with CORBA application deployed using Java Web Start 1_6_0.

Java Web Start fans and experts:
We have been using Java Web Start to deploy the client side of a CORBA-based application since the inception of Java Web Start ... including Java Web Start 1.0 right up through the present.
With Java Web Start 1_6_0, we see evidence that Web Start is "tinkering with" the IOR that CORBA uses to communicate. In all previous versions of Java Web Start, independent of the JRE which the application uses, the stringified IOR have been the same size regardless of whether the application is deployed locally or via Java Web Start. With Java Web Start 1_6_0, the stringified IOR is much longer than the "real" IOR (again, regardless of the JRE used by the application itself). To me this smells like a bug in Java Web Start 1_6_0. Has anyone else observed this behavior?
Here are some specifics .... I've run the same client application with various JREs both with and without Java Web Start as the deployment mechanism. The application was compiled and runs against servers that are running JDK 1_5_0_09.
Here is the summary of my results from a Linux box running various JREs, various versions of Java Web Start, and also running as a non-JWS deployed application. I've listed the length of the stringified IOR in each case.
    JRE 1.5.0 non-JWS client: stringified IOR length = 344
JRE 1.6.0 non-JWS client: stringified IOR length = 344 ... this, I think, excludes the JRE as the cause of these problems.
Java WS 1.5.0, JRE 1.5.0 JWS client: stringified IOR length = 344
Java WS 1.5.0, JRE 1.6.0 JWS client: stringified IOR length = 344
Java WS 1.6.0, JRE 1.6.0 JWS client: stringified IOR length = 1568
Java WS 1.6.0, JRE 1.5.0 JWS cleint: stringified IOR length = 1568
In all cases, the stringified IOR length is determined by the service receiving the message and is always running JRE 1_5_9_09 and is
always the same 344 characters in length UNLESS it was deployed
using Java Web Start 1_6_0, in which case it in nearly 5 times as big!
To me, it sure looks as if there is a problem with Java Web Start 1_6_0 to be adding so much to the stringified IOR. Note: it's hard to tell how different the underlying IOR is in the JWS 1_6_0 case because, unlike most other ORBs, the Sun ORB doesn't have a tool to extract the IOR into a human readable structure. However, I can think of no good reason why the identical application deployed using Java Web Start 1_6_0 should have a stringified IOR length that is different than that of the same application deployed in non-JWS form or should differ from the behavior seen in all previous releases of Java Web Start.
Any clues or suggestions? Has anyone else observed this behavior?
    Thanks,
    John

Depending on the kind of app you try to deploy you can't just delete these entries. They needed by the framework.
You need to make they libraries available on the server you try deploy to. That they are present is not enough.

  • ADF application deployment and Data source configuration

Hi, we are developing an adf application . This app accessing the tables from a data base and i can run it in the integrated WLS of Jdeveloper. Now i would like to run it in a standalone WLS server. I can create a Data source in the server.
How can i tell the application to use the data source configured in the stand alone server. My understating is i have to configure it in the deployment descriptor. May i know how to this in Jdeveloper for an ADF application . Thanks .
    ganesh

First of all make sure that you use jdbc data source in your application module configuration (right click on the application module and select Configurations, then edit). It should look something like 'java:comp/env/jdbc/hrDS'.
On your stand alone server you create a data source with the jdbc name of 'jdbc/hrDS' pointing to the db you like to use.
When you deploy the app, the server should pick up the defined data source.

We have a web application developed using ADF (application development framework) and deployed on WebCenter 11.1.1.2 (weblogic 10.3.2)
OID Authentication and OAM identity assertion is configured in WebLogic 10.3.2 .
How to configure security in ADF application (web.xml or weblogic.xml) so that it uses OAM identity assertion (already configured as authentication providers in weblogic server)
Any pointers or documentation so that application (developed using ADF) check for identity tocken and verifies it with one of identity assertion providers.

    John,
I have to concur. With OAM you don't need this. OAM intercepts the calls and inserts a cookie for WLS to get user information from.
I strongly advise to go through the above mention OFM Security Guide. Esp. Chapter 10 tells you in every detail how to implement OAM SSO with WLS (with or without OHS as a proxy).
Reading this chapter saves you time and turnarounds on this topic...

  • ADF application deployed but not able to process any events on Tomcat

    Hie
Somehow i m able to deploy an ADF application on tomcat 5.5. I am able to see the pages. But nothing is working. That is on click of submit button it does not call the the method written in the bean (assigned to action property of the button).
All is working fine when run withi jdev. Also i dont see any kind of log messages while clicking the submit.
So i m not able to figure out wht is really going wrong. In my apps i have used just ADF faces. There is not ADF-model..
    regards
    Vik

    Hello Praveen,
If I understand correctly the scenario is File -- XI -- RFC and you do not see any message in SXMB_MONI.
I would test the Sender File Adapter first before going to RFC. If the file is picked up and sent to Int Server you would see a corresponding message in SXMB_MONI.
I would first check the Sender File Comm Channel in Comm Channel Monitoring and ensure the file id being picked up.
In case this is not working you would get the exact error in the File Comm Channel. If this channel is working fine and you see a message id for the picked up file but the corresponding message Id is not available in SXMB_MONI, I would have a look at the queues if they are registered properly in SMQR or check if messages are stuck in any queue using SMQ1 and SMQ2 transactions. Please do the following steps and I am sure the scenario would work.
In case you find the problem and are not able to resolve it please post it here and I can suggest something.
Please award points if this post helps you.
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Kanwal

  • ADF application deployment issue

    Dear All,
We have installed Weblogic server 11g with version 10.3.2.0 in UNIX machine.
We are trying to deploy an ADF Application using .ear file, but we are getting an error:
    *weblogic.management.DeploymentException: [J2EE:160149]Error while processing library references. Unresolved application library references, defined in weblogic-application.xml: [Extension-Name: wlp-tools-custom-app-lib, exact-match: false], [Extension-Name: wlp-tools-analytics-app-lib, exact-match: false].*
Can we get any help regarding this.
    Thanks,
    Harsha

The error points to a missing library in the WLS. In your ear file you reference a lib 'wlp-tools-analytics-app-lib' which is not deployed on the target WLS or not wired up correctly in the managed server you deploy to.
Normally library references are defined in the META-INF\weblogic-application.xml inside your ear. Check this file for the reference. If you need the lib you must deploy it to the WLS instance and target it to the managed server you try to deploy to. If you don't need the lib you can remove the reference.
