Deployment of an ADF application with use's the JAAS

hi all,
i built an ADF application and used the JAAS based authentication and authorization and every thing works fine on the embedded oc4j for the Jdev, but when i deployed the application to the application server the authentication is apparently disabled since it's open the jsp pages without redirecting to the login page as usual on the embedded oc4j, so what should i configure on the AS oc4j ?
since i created all roles and users ans premissions on the application side how can i configure the AS oc4j to the system-jazn-data.xml?
i updated the security provider and it doesn't work.
appreciate any help

Hi
the login screen come up after deployment but i changed the security provider for my application to the system-jazen-data.xml file which i placed on the AS but it still doesn't read the users and roles and permissions configured on it..
my major problem is that i built the whole Application on the Jdev and it's internal OC4J, so how can i deploy it on the AS without repeating my work??
and a second question , with the ear file it self is the polices the i gave to each role configured in it??? can i just add the roles and users on the AS OC4J and i ll find the authorization i did already on the Application level??
thanx and best regards for help

  • Packaging ADF application with Libraries

    Hi Experts,
    I was exploring on packaging/ bundling an ADF application with all required libraries, so that this application can be deployed on any J2EE server.
    I have gone through another thread on similar topic - Error while deploying ADF application to a standalone weblogic server
    Above thread says that installation of run-time libraries are must. But I want to dig little deeper into the reasoning.
    What are libraries that can't be added into Application WAR file? (Normally J2EE developed application can be bundled and deployed on any of these servers (Weblogic/ tomcat/websphere)).
    Is it possible to bundle ADF application with all libraries and then deploy it to Websphere server directly (without installing 3rd party libraries)?
    Any help on this is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Randhir

    Timo / Frank / Shay,
    Thanks for your help.
    Websphere server is being used by other applications. So the intention of bundling libs was to check ADF application funcationality on Websphere server without installing 3rd party ADF libraries (installation may conflict other libraries and some application can stop working).
    I gave a try on bundling all libraries with ADF application, but still I can see some error messages about missing libraries.
    What is your suggestion on installing 3rd party libs on Websphere server? Will this impact any deployed application?
    Thanks,
    Randhir

    Hi,
    i'm using Jdev 11.1.1.3.0 to develop a fusion web application, with a model and ViewController Projects.
    When i try to deploy this application with the integrated server, i have any issues.
    The origin seems to be that it builds an application with 3 profiles. The model application is recognized and deployed as a webapp and not an ADF library as it should be..

  • Oracle ADF application with Teradata as Database

    JDeveloper PS5.
    Is it possible to integrate Oracle ADF application with Teradata as Database?
    If yes, can you please provide some information with respect to the same?
    Thanks,
    Navaneeth

    Does teradata have a JDBC driver ? and can it understand SQL92 falvor SQL ?
    If yes, then maybe you can do ADF on it.
    Take a look at this :
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/multidatabaseapp-085183.html
    A bunch of ADF features will not be available, primary key generation will be a bit sketchy(all keys for all tables will come from a single sequence of numbers) and you'll have to implement some stuff like the persistence collection manager.
    The one thing that doc does not mention is that you also have to make sure your adf-config.xml is set with the correct 'jbo.SQLBuilder' property (SQL92) in the <amconfig-overrrides> section.
    Happy hacking !

  • Uninstall deployment for an AppV5 application with Connection group fails if using a User Collection but works on Machine Collections.

    Hi,
    I'm having troubles to understand why my application in AppV5 that was sequenced with "MS. AppV Sequencer SP1" is somehow failing to be uninstalled properly only if this on is deployed with a
    User collection but on the other hand the same application installs & uninstalls perfectly if its deployed using a
    Machine collection?
    Here is an extract of the Appenforce.log:
    Remove-AppvClientPackage : Operation failed because package belongs to a
    connection group on the machine. Please ensure that package does not belong to
    any connection groups.
    Operation attempted: Remove AppV Package.
    AppV Error Code: 020000050C.
    Please consult AppV Client Event Log for more details.

    I know that SCCM 2012 does not uninstalls application prerequisites unless they are targeted by their individual uninstall collection or script an uninstall procedure on the main application. But if I try using the Machine collection the error is not appearing
    and the main application is removed and the Prereq will be left behind without causing any trouble at all !!
    So my question is: Why an APPV5 application with a connection group should be pushed in a Machine context ?
    Notice that I already tried to do the troubleshooting to remove the application manually with PowerShell.
    - set-executionpolicy unrestricted
    - Import-Module AppvClient
    - Get-AppvClientPackage -Name PackageName*
    - Unpublish-AppvClientPackage $PackageName
    - Remove-AppvClientPackage $PackageName
    And actually it was removed but the problem started again if I tried to re-install /remove the application.
    Will really appreciate your comments.
    Kind Regards.
    Joel E.G.

    Hi Paul,
    To be honest we already experienced many troubles after the SCCM console was migrated from R1 to R2, SCCM client was updated too in consequence, but our AppV5 client still remains on SP1.
    I'm afraid that any application that uses Connections Groups will have to be pushed on a Machine context and I just wanted to really understand more about this subject of why it was working that way and not by User is there something I missed with (Run Virtual)
    that for any reason is not perfectly implemented to run on a user context?
    Any way, we will be testing AppV5 Client SP2 really soon because we have no choice.
    Regards,
    Joel EG

    Whether u create HRconnDS in ur Weblogic server
    If not create it ...
    If yes just check it out whether u gave a correct connection string for it......

  • How to configure ADF application to use OAM Identity Assertion ? web.xml

    We have a web application developed using ADF (application development framework) and deployed on WebCenter 11.1.1.2 (weblogic 10.3.2)
    OID Authentication and OAM identity assertion is configured in WebLogic 10.3.2 .
    How to configure security in ADF application (web.xml or weblogic.xml) so that it uses OAM identity assertion (already configured as authentication providers in weblogic server)
    Any pointers or documentation so that application (developed using ADF) check for identity tocken and verifies it with one of identity assertion providers.

    John,
    I have to concur. With OAM you don't need this. OAM intercepts the calls and inserts a cookie for WLS to get user information from.
    I strongly advise to go through the above mention OFM Security Guide. Esp. Chapter 10 tells you in every detail how to implement OAM SSO with WLS (with or without OHS as a proxy).
    Reading this chapter saves you time and turnarounds on this topic...

  • Deploying a jdeveloper adf application to a desktop

    I need to create an interface to an oracle database system that I set up, and I need to do it posthaste. I got drawn into the offerings of jdeveloper by all the promotion and videos and tutorials that are available on the web page. It does indeed seem like a rapid way to create an interface. I originally liked the idea of creating an adf fusion webapplication, but I couldn't figure out how to get my sample application to run on Tomcat.
    So now, I'm interested in developing an interface that can be run on a desktop, in the meantime until I have more time to work on a web interface. My question is does a desktop application need an application server as well if it's using adf? In other words, I'd like to create an application in jdeveloper that I can deploy as a simple executable jar file and send to a user for them to use on their desktop, is this possible? Is web logic required to run on that other users desktop?
    I've tried doing this using a "Java Desktop Application (adf)" which creates two projects one for the model and one for the view controller. I created a simple prototype form that connects to my database and everything looks great when I hit the green play button. However when I try and deploy it as an executable jar with the entry point being the one and only form I can't run it. A jar file is created and it says its an executable jar file but when I double click it, the OS simply beeps (I'm using Windows XP).
    Thanks.

You should be able to execute the application packaged on the jar file as is. I haven't developed myself anything like it, but as long as your necessary ADF libraries are accessible you shouldn't have any problems running it.

    You won't be able to run the jar file that way - unless you package a manifest file with it and set its Main-Class attribute to point to your class containing the main() method. Try instead executing java -jar yourJarFile.jar from the command line.

  • Custom ADF Application with Process Instance Details Task Flow

    Hi,
    I want to use Process Instance Details Task Flow which is referred to in the doc below.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/user.1111/e15175/bpmug_ws_taskflows.htm#BACDBDJA
    But I could not find the task flow in the JAR files nor in the libraries described in the doc (Actually I could not find one of the JARs itself, adflibWorkspaceTaskFlows.jar).
    Does anyone know where can I find it and how to use it?
    It is more convenient if I can create a custom ADF application which contains information on process instance details using Java API for BPM.
    So I'd like to also ask whether such API is available or not.
    Regards,
    Kenji

    +1
    I also can't find the adflibWorkspaceTaskFlows.jar from the specified directory in the [ BPM Users Guide|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/user.1111/e15175/bpmug_ws_taskflows.htm#BACBBDCE] : "$FMW_HOME/AS11gR1SOA/soa/modules/oracle.soa.worklist_11.1.1"
    When I tinker the OracleBPMWorkspace.ear from the $SOA_HOME\soa\applications, it has the OracleBPMWorkspace.war that contains the adflibWorkspaceTaskFlows.jar in its WEB-INF\lib directory, but the adflibWorkspaceTaskFlows.jar does not contain the "processApplicationsTaskflow.xml" or the "processInstancesTaskflow.xml". Those task flows were present in the WEB-INF itself of the OracleBPMWorkspace.war itself which is not deployed as an ADF library.
    Please advice,

  • Problem when deploying on tomcat two applications with same appmodule name

    We have deployed two different adf-uix applications to a tomcat application server.
    Each of the two applications has one application module, the two application modules have the same name. This seems to cause a conflict between the two applications.
    After starting the application server, we can run first the application 'A' and then the application 'B' or viceversa, every time the first application works and the second doesn't. When running the second application we get messages like 'table or view doesn't exist'.
    Having the application modules with different names seems to solve the problem, but it seems not so easy to change the application module name on an existing and rather complex application.
    Any suggestion? Please help.
    Thanks, Mauro

    I had the same problem and the only way to solve it was to change the app module name.

  • Deploying a jdeveloper adf application to a desktop jar file

    My Manifest.mf looks like this
    Manifest-Version: 1.0

    When I change it to run a none .adf form like
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Main-Class: dfg.model.Form1
    it runs with no problems.
    At both cases I use commnd line like this:
    java -jar  dfg.jar
    I have also a libs folder in my jar (including all adf jars) and also tried using the following Manifest.MF
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Class-Path: \libs

  • Passing parameters through URL in ADF Application with UIShell

    Hi,
    JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.6.0
    The UI in our application is developed with UIShell pageTemplate.
    We have a Home page created with PageTemplace "UIShell.jspx" and this page is placed as a view in adfc-config.xml (the Unbounded Task Flow).
    The other pages for our application are created using Page Fragments and these pages are called from Home_taskmenu.xml through Bounded task flows.
    With this setting, the URL(after SignIn) will look like,
    http://localhost:7101/OperationalPlanning/faces/Home?_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.no-new-window-redirect=true&_afrLoop=6811862222491857&_adf.ctrl-state=29wus7giw_19
    We have a requirement to build the URL which should open a Page Fragment directly after Signing In to the application. And we have a id to be passed as a parameter, so it should open the page fragment with the details based on the id value that we pass.
    The parameters are already registered in the Bounded Task Flow(which has the page fragment) and I could open in the "localArea" using a link in the Home Page.
    Now, I want to directly launch the Bounded task flow by passing a parameter, so that it opens the Page Fragment as a tab once we signIn.
    Let me know if there is any solution for this requirement.
    If there is any document to follow for this kind of requirement in an application which is created using the UIShell, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Tamil

    hi Frank,
    Thanks for the response. We followed your suggestion and managed to capture URL parameters in afterPhase(LifeCycle.PREPARE_MODEL) and save parameters to ViewScope.
    Then in beforePhase(LifeCycle.PREPARE_RENDER), we retrieve parameters back and invoke FndUIController.openMainTask method to launch the correponding taskflow but nothing happens.
    public static void openTaskflowOnNewTab(String taskflowId) {
    try {
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ELContext elc = fc.getELContext();
    ExpressionFactory ef = fc.getApplication().getExpressionFactory();
    ValueExpression valExp = ef.createValueExpression(elc,"#{bindings.openMainTask}",Object.class);
    JUCtrlActionBinding methodBinding = (JUCtrlActionBinding)valExp.getValue(elc);
    Map params = methodBinding.getParamsMap();
    params.put("label", "Some Title");
    params.put("taskFlowId", taskflowId);
    params.put("reuseInstance", true);
    methodBinding.invoke();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    To prove that this method works, we create a UI button on the page (which binds this method in PageDef.xml), and associate this method to onclick event. At runtime after page is opened, clicking on the button does launch the taskflow on new tab successfully.
    Do you happen to know what I do wrong in the beforePhase() method?
    Thanks
    -Phi

    Your reply is most welcomed. I am working for 2 days, if you know just give few minutes to address this issue.

    hi thanks for reply,
    I am using 10.1.3.3 version
    Steps followed are mentioned in one of the PDF
    Oracle WebCenter Framework Tutorial, 10g (10.1.3.2.0)
    B31072-02
    Here I am tring to secure some page of application as per user role usinf ADF secuiry feature.
    The application runs fine in "stand alone" mode.
    While tring portletise i am getting portlet unavilable. So i think i need to modify my portlet.xml OR web.xml
    From Welcome Page:
    I have login and logout link displayed to user not loggged in and logged in user respectively I have done using golink propery.
    Also i have some command button as:
    On clicking: Go To MyWeather Rendered to #{backing_Welcome.authenticated &&
    bindings.permissionInfo['MyWeatherPageDef'].allowsView}
    On clicking: Go To MyContent Rendered to #{backing_Welcome.authenticated &&
    bindings.permissionInfo['MyContentPageDef'].allowsView}

  • Start and ADF Application with a non-View Task

    I would like my application to start with a non-View task from within Unbounded Task Flow.
    For example, I would like a single "Task Flow Call" in the Unbounded Task Flow which will call the first Bounded Task Flow. The first BTF will expose the main application page. The main application page will contain a dynamic region to handle all other bounded task flows.
    Is there a better task type to use than the Task Flow Call?
    Does the first task in an unbounded task flow need to be a view task?
    If so, is possible to simply use this page to redirect to a non-view task (such as a Task Flow Call)?
    Any ideas on the best approach for this? The point is that I do not want to start the application with a view task.
    Thanks,
    Vince

    Hi,
    you can't start with a non-view acticvity in an unbounded task flow. In your case I suggest to use a bounded task flow that you enable for browser access (property setting) and have it using JSPX pages. You don't need to start with a view in the unbounded task flow to achieve what you want

  • Dealing with a turn based application with using a global static variable

    Hi there. I read some articles about JavaFX concurrency,so as a newbie i have to practice on it. Now i'm trying to implement a turn based application that can be played among 3-6 players. Moreover, i use a scene imported from a .fxml file and i have to update it correctly depends on some calculations of each thread (in other word players ). My main issue is, i don't wanna use a while loop which checks the state of game like;
    while( GameState != State.GAME_OVER ){
         currentPlayer = GameBoard.getNextPlayer();
         // do some actions,calculations etc.
    So, i want to use worker threads instead of this while loop. I guess using Service class for iterating and assigning the next player will be suitable instead of using the while loop and Tasks for doing each player's calculation,or waiting for some responses from Human players on UI based,however, i'm struggling with two problems.
    There should a global static variable ( like GameState which is an Enumarator ) determines the state of the game,so it should be updated and should be checked by each turn. Is there any way to do this ?
    How can i get rid off this while loop ?
    I will appreciate for every answer. Thanks anyway.

    It shouldn't make too much difference. The basic idea is that you have a model class representing your game state (the Game class in jsmith's example). When a player makes a move, you update the state of the game. Since this will result in changes to the UI, this update should be performed on the FX Application Thread.
    If the player making the move is a human player, the move will likely be made by a user action (button press or mouse click, etc); this will be handled on the FX Application thread anyway.
    When the state of the game changes so it is the turn of an "artificial" player to make a move, have the object representing the artificial player calculate its next move, and then update the game state. Since this is a response to the game state changing (it's now the turn of the artificial player), this will also be on the FX Application Thread.
    The only (slight) complexity comes if the calculation of the move for the artificial player takes a long time. You don't want to perform this long running calculation on the FX Application Thread. The cleanest way to manage this is to launch a Task which calculates the desired move, and then updates the game state when the move is ready. So, something like this:
    GameState game = ... ;
    // UI is bound to the game state.
    ExecutorService executorService = ... ;
    final Player currentPlayer = game.getCurrentPlayer() ;
    final Task<Move> calculateMoveTask = new Task<Move>() {
         @Override
         public Move call() {
              Move move = // compute next move...
              return move ;
    calculateMoveTask.setOnSucceeded(new EventHandler<WorkerStateEvent>() {
         @Override
         public void handle(WorkerStateEvent event) {
              gameState.makeMove(currentPlayer, calculateMoveTask.getValue());
    executorService.submit(calculateMoveTask);
    If you're doing more threading than that, you're probably doing it wrong... . There should also be no need for anything to be held as a "global" static variable (the idea above is the only structural modification you need to the example posted by jsmith).
