Mass email/newsletter app - 2simplifi/Mailbuild- REVIEWS, SUGGESTIONS??

Hi,
I have been battling between creating a mass email/newsletter
app or buying one of the shelf. It looks like in the interest of
time the latter is the better option. I have been searching the net
for some solutions and came across Mailbuild and 2simplifi (Email
Contact Pro). Does anyone have any experience using one of these
solutions? Or if you have any other suggestions, they would be much
appreciated. Thank you.

I'm not familiar with the ones you noted but have used CF
Email Campaign. Not sure if it will meet your needs but it's free
and worth checking out at RIA Forge:

  • How to mass email a newsletter from Pages?

I will be creating a weekly newsletter for an elementary school & need to mass email it to about 500 recipients.  Can I do that directly from Pages or do I need some sort of service to do it for me (like where people subscribe to receive it)?  Also, should I convert it to PDF?

Note that most e-mail providers put limits on the number of recipients you can send mail to per day and in a single message, as a means to prevent spam.  500 is probably at or above that limit in most cases.  You'll want to talk to your school techs about this sort of thing, as they may be able to provide assistance for this sort of thing.  If not, you'll want to break this down into smaller groups and send them over time, or use the web-based interface of a GMail account, which will allow you a maximum of 500 recipients in one message.
Once you've worked out how you're going to send it, you just have to export to PDF and attach it to the e-mail message.

  • How can I send a personalized mass email with the mail app?

I need to be able to send a mass email where the "Dear So-and-so" is personalized for each recipient. Is it possible to do this with Mail? If so, how can I accomplish that?

you'll have to use a feature called "Mail Merge"
it works with either MS Word + Outlook
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-ca/mac-word-help/use-mail-merge-to-create-a-form- letter-RZ103895371.aspx
    or

  • Email newsletter creation in FW. Not previewing in Mail (mac app).Ipreface

I'm total newb to Fireworks (but have extensive print design experience) so apologies if this is a silly question. I am required to produce an email newsletter and am using the exercise as a way of introducing myself to FW and DW and web design. My idea of the easiest way to do this (for me) was to produce something I could get into Safari and then use it's (nifty) Mail Contents of this Page… command to create the email in Mail Application.
If I import the content to FireWorks, it previews in Safari AoK but when I use Mail Contents of this Page… I get an email message full of image placemarkers with question marks in them (plugin style icons).
I know this feature (Mail Contents of this Page…) works for a lot of content I've tried it with including Dreamweaver content. I've tried a dozen or so work flows including exporting HTML and images from FW and opening that in Safari.
My workflow was InDesign --> export as flattened PDF (with layers) --> open in Photoshop and cut into individual images and Save for Web… --> import images from PS or  whole flattened PDF direct to FW --> make slices over images (almost all the text is in spec fonts so is rendered out as images)
Any ideas for a sure-Fire(works) workflow to produce a glossy (X)HTML newsletter?
Any idea why the export from FW looks good in Safari but fails as a Mac Mail HTML message?
For now I'm emailing a link to the online PDF to ship on time but I very much wish to master HTML emails and an efficient workflow.
    Cheers and thanks in advance.

Fireworks is not an HTML authoring environment. Let me repeat that. Fireworks is not an HTML authoring environment!
The HTML export feature of Fireworks is so that you can produce a mockup of a Web design for approvals and such. The HTML is not robust. Couple that with the problem that email clients support a limited set of HTML and CSS and you have a recipe for disaster. When you write HTML newsletters you need to go about them in a slightly different way. But you still need to know your HTML.
HTML newsletters are tricky things. You can't expect a graphics program to produce something that's going to work. You can use Fireworks to design your newsletter. You can slice the design and export the items that will be graphics. But then, you should use Dreamweaver or a plain old text editor to write the HTML and CSS that will work well for email clients.
There are two HTML mailing services that also have lots of info on writing HTML newsletters. Check out the info they have on best practices and the limitations in clients:

  • How to - Varibale Data in a PDF for mass email?

I have a question for the Adobe InDesign community...
Is there an easy way to add variable data to an InDesign PDF document for mass emailing?
I am sending out a newsletter to over 500 emails and I'd like to add the client name to the PDF document and have it send to the appropriate email without having to do each one individually. We have Design Merge, however the only way to save out the variable data for the newsletter is to save them as post-scripts and then convert each file into a PDF. However...once all 500 records are made, is there a way to have the appropriate variable documents go to the right emails?
I'm thinking I either need to do each email one at a time (which is time consuming)...or just redesign the newsletter as an html email and use something like Mail Chimp to have it include client names in the email as "IFNames."
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    Thank you.

I don't understand what you want. Parts of what you want are possible, and it seems you understand how to do it (sort of).

With the Mail Merge function within InDesign, you can take your (let's say four-page) newsletter and add 500 client names and email addresses, but it would result in a 2,000-page InDesign document (with 500 consecutive copies of your newsletter, each with a different name and email address, or what ever other data you need). That document can easily be exported to PDF, and the PDF can easily be broken into 500 four-page PDFs with Acrobat. If the page counts are an issue, you could break your data file into smaller chunks, and do several merges.

Here's where I don't understand you. Are you looking to make one email with 500 recipients, and have the appropriate PDF be attached automatically, without you having to choose the appropriate PDF with the cooresponding email? If so, that sounds like an email issue, more than an InDesign one. It may be (and probably is) something that can be automated, but I don't think InDesign is the step that is getting in your way.

I don't know anything about Design Merge, but Data Merge doesn't require this step. You can export to PDF directly from the InDesign document that is created by the Data Merge process.

  • How do I remove a suggested email address on iPhone when the suggestioned address DOESN'T have a blue i next to it?

I want to remove some email addresses from the list of suggested email addresses which appear in iPhone's Mail app.
All of the ways I've found so far to remove suggested email addresses involve clicking on a blue arrow or i next to the suggested name. However, the suggestion(s) I want to remove have nothing on which to click. How can suggested addresses be removed without something to click?

Here's the solution (it's what you suggested):
If the old email address is in the contacts no blue circle i  appears. The blue circle indicates it is in recent but not in contacts.
    You need two step procedure:
    1. remove email from contacts (try doing a Search for it if necessary);
    2.  and then remove from recent by starting a new email, starting to enter email address (which brings up the Recent suggestions), then click on the blue circle i (which should now be there because you removed email address from Contacts), select Remove from Recent).

  • Mass email program for iMac?

I apologize for posting this here. I could not find an appropriate category for this question. If you have a better idea of where I should post this, please let me know.
On my old PC I used Groupmail to send out mass e-mails. Since I've recently switched to an iMac, I want to find a similar mass email program that I can use on my iMac. (There is no Groupmail for Mac.) Any suggestions?

    Hi,
I apologize for posting this here. I could not find an appropriate category for this question. If you have a better idea of where I should post this, please let me know.
[Using Mac OS X Leopard|http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1225] might be a better place (or [Leopard Mail and Address Book|http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1223] but those refer to the built-in OS X applications, rather than the email topic in general)
    Good luck!

  • Email newsletter manager in iWeb?

Does anyone know of a way to integrate an email newsletter manager into iWeb? I'd like one that is free, if possible. I've found phplist, which a friend uses, but I don't even know which version to download. It looks pretty intimidating. My friend paid someone to put it in her site, but I don't have $400 which is what he would charge me. He said it would work on a Mac.
Here is the link to phplist:
    http://www.phplist.com/download
Once I've downloaded it, how do I integrate something like that into iWeb?
I realize that this is a complicated question. I will appreciate any guidance you can give me. Thanks!
    Satya

    Hi,
    no problem, I'm still here
    1. Register to Bravenet
    2. Register for the MailingList
    3. Under Web Tools => Registered Web Tools, click on mailing list
    4. Under utilities you have "Copy-paste code" click and then copy the code
    5. Go to iWeb and paste the code into an html snippet on any page you'd like to have it to appear. (Go to the end of the page post for html in iWeb '06). As soon as you click apply you will see the field.
    See how it looks here:
    http://alyeska.altervista.org/test/Welcome/Blank_3.html
(just a website for testing so it will not stay on server for ever)
Now people can subscribe to your newsletter.
For sending Newsletters go to your Bravenet account and select "Send plain text" or "Build/send HTML" where you can play around and customize your newsletter for having it to show how you want.
On your Bravenet account you will be able to see who joined your mailinglist and so on.
PS: you don't have to leave your hosting to get a counter on your website... You can use Bravenet's counter or better have a look at this:
    http://alyeska.altervista.org/en/iWeb_Statcounter.html
(this page will soon be updated with a freeware alternative to iComment you can find here http://guimkie.com/projects/iwebexpander )
Bravenet offers a lot of useful other stuff like guestbooks, polls, and so on (the only downside is that they include Ads on their free stuff). I actually don't use anything of Bravenet myself but I used to some time ago.
Regards and welcome back from traveling around the world, hope you enjoyed the journey
    Cédric
PPS: I just noticed this is posted to iWeb '06 so there are no HTML snippets in there. Here's a freeware app do add html in iWeb '06 http://guimkie.com/projects/iweb/basic-html-editing-with-iweb/

It seems that his is a rare case according to the majority of users on this forum.
It was a review by a user name Parakhodnik on the 20 July 2011 on the App store feature of the OS X Lion scroll down to reviews and its there.
I will upgrade shortly and if i have any issues with it il post em asap. Hope i dont.

  • Sending mass email

I have a document that has an email address field. I'd like to send a mass email to everyone at one time. Is there a way to do this?

    Hello
may you explain with more details?
At this time I'm not sure of what you want.
I guess that the Numbers document contains a list of email addresses and that you want to send mails to the stored addresses.
You don't tell us if the contents of the mail is defined from an other tool or if it must be built by Numbers.
Assuming that the mail is defined and that a sheet contains the mail addresses.
    I give you this AppleScript:
    --(SCRIPT)
    try
set theDatas to the clipboard as text
    on error
    return
    end try
set theListe to every paragraph of theDatas
set AppleScript's text item delimiters to ", "
set theDatas to theListe as text
set AppleScript's text item delimiters to ""
    set the clipboard to theDatas
    --(/SCRIPT)
Select the column of mail addresses
    copy to clipboard
call the script to arrange the addresses as they must be for Mail.app
Paste in the field To: of mail.app
    pclick on "Send"

  • Personalized Mass Email

I've read some forums, but in short...
I'm trying tos end out personalized mass emails wtih "Hi Mr. Smith" and other personalized keywords in a bulk message.
Here's a similar article I read on the subject, but I'm not sure what app or program I need to buy.

It sounds like you may be trying to build a mailing list. If you want to have the computer add to and maintain that list as well as having easy to use placeholders in your email, I would recommned a professional system that is managed online. I have one that deals with online marketing, autoresponse, Atom and RSS etc on http://www.aweber.com/
If you simply want to use placeholders to create personalized mail, without a mailing list or one-click cance, you can buy something like SerialMailer (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/serialmailer/id431463949?mt=12) from the app store.
Mail cannot AFAIK do personalized group emails.

  • Mass email delete? Samsung Nexus

Is there a way to delete mass emails < like the 2000 sitting in "trash" folder on my buddies Nexus>? I played with it for awhile but could not seem to find an easy answer or any answer other than to delete them one by one. I'm not ICS savvy in the least bit, can anyone help here? I'm hoping for a stock fix not an app, but all recommendations will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

One way would be to delete the email account from the phone and then set it up again.

  • I have BIS but can't surf, send/receive email, use apps

i have BB Curve 8520. My BIS was running smoothly (sending and receiving emails real time and surfing the net through BIS), until i noticed when i tried to reply to an email that came in, it won't send. i noticed that it's fluctuating. i was able to send the email after a few minutes... then a few minutes later, i received a replied email from my friend, and when i tried to send my reply, i wasn't able to. also, i can't surf using the browser with the "internet browser" as default. i tried using my wifi and then suddenly all my emails started coming in, all emails that were not able to go through hours ago. my big question was why do i need to turn on wifi just to receive emails. but since i had my BIS for 2 months now, i can send and receive emails and surf through BIS itself without turning on the wifi.  also, i can't use any of my apps like facebook, twitter, yahoo messenger, etc.  They used to work fine with BIS... but now, i have to turn on the wifi connection, so i could log in with them.  aren't these supposed to be running through BIS only?
I have GPRS on top, not gprs. my carrier says i have active data plan/BIS. but under Services Status..it says Blackberry Internet Service:  Connection:  not connected...
so, i wiped out my BB and deleted all third party apps. when this was done, i received emails telling me "Your handheld has been registered with the wireless network" and even got "Activation Server" emails telling me that the emails that i have previously set up are now up and running. so i thought my BB is now ok.. i tried surfing, it was okay. after like about 5 minutes, it was down again. tried sending email but can't... i turned on the wifi and boom! the emails started coming in again.i have the Host Routing Tables and my Service Books in my BB. I have GPRS (not gprs) on top which means i have active BIS.  i have registered my HRTs several times... and resending my service books... same thing...
the big mystery is when i turn on the wifi, the emails suddenly go through and i can send emails. i can open apps that used to only run on BIS. this is ok i guess, but i could never do any of these if i'm not connected to wifi.
my sister and i have the same BB... i removed my sim and inserted it to her BB and the BIS worked fine... i was able to surf and use apps.. but when i put my sim back on my phone, the problem still exists.  i even used a different sim card that is also subscribed to BIS/data plan, and it still has the same problem... my guess is my carrier is right that my data plan is working ok and that my handheld itself has the problem...
i updated my OS, same problem.. wiped it out... used BBSAK, reinstalled OS... numerous battery pulls... same thing... i can receive the HRTs and service books, but after that can't do anything else like i used to... (send/receive emails, use apps like facebook, twitter, ym, etc., can't surf with internet browser - except when wifi is on everything else work fine even emails and apps)..
i would really appreciate your help guys.. thanks!

  • After updating to iOS 6.1.2, neither my iPhone or iPad will update apps thru App Store. Any suggestions?

After updating to iOS 6.1.2, neither my iPhone or iPad will update apps thru App Store. Any suggestions?

    What happens when you try?
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.
