Mass hysteria,Customer loyalty and New every two canceled

I have been with Verizon for around 7-8 years now. I love Verizon. We all can agree when the I phone came out, switching carriers was very temping. The I phone is pretty dang awesome. I personally have wanted one since they came out but I figured what is a little patience  gonna be worth when Verizon comes out with it. Well now it is here, GREAT! New every two, gone, SUCKS. Well although I would love to be able to get an I phone for the 199 - 299 price. If I was going to get any other phone I would be able to get it at the nice price with an early upgrade. I have been reading all these blogs and all I hear is Verizon is not loyal to its customers and those of us who waited are being left behind since we are not eligible for an early upgrade at the launch. Well yes that sucks, if we want the phone before our contract is up, we will have to pay full price. Why won't Verizon take a massive financial hit in subsidizing cost for its "loyal" customers. Come on people. Be happy Verizon finally has the I phone, suck it up and get it, don't get it, who cares. For the record, there has been no official word on how the I phone sales will be on the 3rd and then the 10th. Lets all grow up, wait our turn and get all the facts first. Yes I am sad that I will loose my upgrades now, (or not, who knows?). Maybe Verizon will give everyone with less than a year on their contracts for an early upgrade should be able to use it on the I phone. Well maybe it will be that way? As I said we wont know till Verizon officially announces it to us. My point here is please stop bashing Verizon and wait for a more official word on whats going to happen. Even the employees have no clue how it will go down. So please lay off the speculations and crazy math antics going on. Really?? As the most used phrase on these forums, lets be 'loyal' Verizon customers and stop bashing a company who has been good to us and has finally brought us the I phone. Thank you Verizon, I am looking forward to the I phone launch and here is to wishful thinking on the early upgrade for current customers. If anyone feels the same way as I do, reply and let us and Verizon know it. If you disagree write about it too. Thanks for your time.

Well they are giving us our upgrades that we have, they never were planning to take those away.  So they never took it away, they just aren't giving it to those with new contracts.

  • How many  Exchanges allowed  with  New Every Two ( NET )- Upgrade Program ? Policy change?

Was I just lucky to get 3 phones before they 'cut me off'?
Read if you're bored (obviously I am):
I was eligible in Oct. '09 for my NET uprade. I got a phone, didn't like it better than what I had so I called Verizon to return it.
They told me the procedure and before I hung up I asked, "How many returns/exchanges are allowed in the NET program?" I SWEAR she said, "As many as you like - Verizon wants you to be happy w/your purchase"....and NO RESTOCKING FEE.
Fast Forward to June '10. My trusty ol' VX8350 finally cracks @ the hinge - still useable, but not long for this world. I check my online account as I'm still eligible for the NET....i order up an LG Acccolade phone (the brand has treated me well), but the phone is too basic (kinda jumped the gun on ordering it). So back it goes..
I check my Verizon online account about 2 weeks later, and see my account has NOT been updated to reflect the Accolade was rec'd and I'm still eligible for the NET. I call Customer Service (CS) and after a few minutes, they let me know the phone is rec'd and they can update my account to make me eligible for the NET....and NO RESTOCKING FEE.
So. after a couple of days, I go back online and order up a CASIO EXILIM - It is the ONLY 'multimedia' phone that doesn't require a 'data plan' for an extra $9.99/month. Verizon changed it back in Jan. '10, IIRC - I was told by a Verizon rep during a 'chat' session(and WTH happened to the online chat??).
After living w/the phone for a couple weeks, I'm not liking it. Back it goes to Verizon. I look online a couple of days ago, and don't see that I'm eligible for the NET so I call Verizon. After spending a few minutes going over my account the rep verifies that the Casio has been rec'd and that he will transfer me to the department that handles updating my NET status.
He also notes that I HAVE BEEN CHARGED a RESTOCKING FEE, which he kindly waives. ( I hope!)
HE VERIFIES THAT I HAVE REC'd and RETURNED 2 PREVIOUS PHONES - and says NOTHING about losing my NET eligibiltity. He even states he's worked w/Verizon 'for quite a while' and defends/explain the reasoning for adding the requirement for a data plan w/most/all the multimedia-type phones, "Due to a bunch of people having huge data bills, we instituted this to make sure the customer doesn't have unintended charges. Verizon had their biggest 'write-off' due to this, as customers had these huge data bills and weren't able to pay them". (OK, riiigghhht) After being on hold for awhile he states their's a Tornado warning @ the office he wanted to tranfer me to, so I just agree to be put in the 'queue' .....after 10 minutes I have to get back to work so I hang up.
Today, I call and talk to a gal (nice enough) who after reviewing my account AND TALKING TO HER SUPERVISOR tells me her supervisor will not authorize me receiving the NET eligiblity as their policy is only 1 Exchange allowed, per their Return Policy. I argue that I was told differently in the past and I'm not happy w/their CS (for which she aplogizes) - being in CS my self, I don't take it out on the rep...they're just the messenger.

  • Upgrade Before New Every Two

This may be a redundant question:  I have 6 months to go before I am eligible for a new every two discount. I want to upgrade now to a smartphone.  Two questions?
1.) Would you get a Droid or wait for the iPhone to come to VZ?
2.) If I upgrade my phone and plan, is there a termination fee?  On the website, it will say that a plan upgrade is required and then states that there is a $350.00 termination fee insinuating that if I upgrade plan as well as phone, I will have to pay the (outrageous) fee.

1.) Would you get a Droid or wait for the iPhone to come to VZ? I would read reviews of each device and choose the one that met my needs.  If I had further questions after reading the reviews, I would go to a store and handle the items on my "short list" personally to make my final decision.
2.) If I upgrade my phone and plan, is there a termination fee? No, you can change your plan at any time with Verizon.  You can also change your phone at any time.  If you purchase a new phone before you are eligible for an upgrade, however, you will have to pay full retail price for the phone if you buy from Verizon.  On the website, it will say that a plan upgrade is required and then states that there is a $350.00 termination fee insinuating that if I upgrade plan as well as phone, I will have to pay the (outrageous) fee.  The ETF is probably referring to the new contract you would have to sign to get the smartphone at a reduced price.  The ETF for smartphones is $350 less $10 for each month of service completed.

  • Verizon customer service and new direction company has taken...?

    November 15, 2013
    To whom it may concern:
I will make this letter brief, knowing I will not get a response because of the lack of Values Verizon holds!
Most recently, your company has deliberately failed to honor previously made guarantees with their unlimited plan.  I have fought this issue for about a year but I have recently accepted this and attempted to give Verizon another opportunity to show they value their loyal customers.
I had set up a third line two years ago for my paraplegic brother, whom I care for.  Due to unexpected circumstances, the line has not been used.  I attempted to restructure my contract ONE-month early without a greedy penalty from Verizon.  Again, I was disappointed with a total disregard to customer care.  Verizon representatives were not willing to waive a ONE-month early cancellation fee for an unused third line, even when I was going to upgrade my phone and give-in to Verizon's greed with the restructure of my unlimited plan.
I understand that my contract is just a "Speck of Dust in a Vast Desert", but I thought that just maybe, Verizon still valued their loyal customers to eat a greedy fee in that same vast desert.  I was wrong, again...
You will lose a loyal customer on 12/19/2013, when I will only have to pay for one cancellation fee.  Thank you Verizon for your new direction with no values or customer care!  Better yet, especially with your company's treatment of a loyal VETERAN customer!
    Respectfully,
    Dan

It is sad when greed is the leader in corporate operations.  That we pay all the fees incurred by the companies operating cost and taxes and upper management bonuses and profits with nothing passed down to us who supply the reason they exist. All companies have went this route and continue the cut the hands that feed them. Customers do have a voice..... Your money.  Take it elsewhere when you are not satisfied with service. Any company whom isn't providing adequate service should feel that pinch. But we see large entities conspiring together to lock in high cost by raising it across the board. It's basically picking which pineapple you prefer to crammed in our backside.  Given less products and service for higher rates has been the trend since 2008 and looks to continue until there is nothing left to take from the consumer.

  • HUGE 2.0 software problems on both a 1st gen iPhone and new 3g TWO BRICKS

So I waited in line for several hours for the new 3G yesterday like most people get it home and it had the occasional random program crashes etc. No big deal par for the course for being first on the block with a new device - even a Apple product.
My headache started with turning my "old" 1st Gen 16gb phone into a iPod. I installed the 2.0 software through iTunes and all went well until I was testing it out and it restarted. Weird since it gave no problems before. No big deal since I could go back to iTunes and restore it right?
    Wrong.
    Dead wrong.
It will not get beyond the Apple logo restart screen (yes I left it alone - even over night). I tried different computers, restarting the computer and iTunes. Also tried reinstalling iTunes - nothing works. Okay no big deal since it just going to be my extra iPod.
EXCEPT A HOUR LATER MY 3G IPHONE STARTED DOING THE SAME THING!!!!
Now I have two 16gb iPhones that will not restart or restore - AND NO CELL PHONE SERVICE.
Very, very frustrating. Even as a huge Apple fan I can't recommend this product until it's bit more fully developed.
Now waiting for technical support for well over a hour . . . Thank god I didn't go ahead and cancel my home phone like I have been meaning to.
Any one out there have any ideas?

It looks like a 3rd party application might be the problem.
The good news is tech support got me back on track. The secret? Power down the iPhone, then press and hold down the home button while connecting it to the computer with iTunes up and running. This will get you to the recovery screen. You should be able to then restore the phone. I would say be wary of some of the applications out there.

  • Customer service and new ipod issues

i have called customer service 3 times and have been put on hold for about an hour in total, all asking me to wait for the senior adviser. i was told in my last call yesterday that the senior adviser will call me when he has time. from the service i've gotten so far, i won't be surprised if i don't get a call. why can't apple just add email support?
basically my problem is that the top portion of the touch starts to get warm within a few minutes of using it, even if im just surfing the web or looking through the app store, and after about 20-30 minutes, it gets noticeably hot. not burning but just hot. does this happen with anyone elses 4g touch? ive been to 2 service providers and they say its cos of the wifi or some sort of app ive installed. ive restored to factory settings already but surely the wifi component shouldnt get so hot? this never happened with my 2g touch.
i also noticed scratches on the back already on a week old touch just like my 2g and i am VERY careful. i got a replacement just because of scratches last time for it and i basically sent a photo through email which was about 2 years ago so im guessing apple removed the email support since then? apple support has gotten a lot worse and i would've probably been better off just buying off a third party for cheaper than from the online store.

I noticed that my iPod gets hot occasionally if I use it for more than 30 mins, I mainly use it while it's in it's case, so it heats up a little.
As for the scratches, that just seems to be the fate of most things that apple makes. Best is to try to protect it as best as you can. I have a red leather case that closes like a day planner to protect it all the way around, a plastic cover that protects it's back and a screen protector that protects it's front. Bit of overkill I know, but at $300 I don't have the money to replace it if it gets damaged.
I bought the case from Amazon.com for about $15, Apple wanted twice that for the same kind of case.

  • Business processes in Customer loyalty and campaigns

    Hello folks
I am supposed to contribute towards planning a workshop focussing on business processes in campaigns and loyalty management. And am I having difficulty to keep it focussed on business side then technical configuration. Please let me know on what points should I focus? What are the likely processes involved and how to put together them in documents before the start of the implementation. Assuming the sector to be retail or manufacturer of appliances.
    Thanks,

  • Power oscillates between 99% and 100%  every two seconds;

The MagSafe adapator flashes from green to orange and back 30 time a minute. The menubar percentages changes in sync from 99% to 100% and back. This has been going on for a couple of weeks. No other unusual behavior has been noted.
I have done an SMC reset and calibrated the battery (charge completely for two hours then discharge completely and allow to rest for over five hours then charge completely again). Flashing behavior is still there with both of my two MagSafe adapters.
    What's going on?

I had some kind of weird issue going on with charging and computers getting hot and turning off, etc., and I did the re-sync thing with the battery...it seemed to fix it and I haven't had an issue yet. I don't know if you said you already tried this or not, but this was handy:
    1. Calibrating the battery: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.4/en/mh2339.html
    2. Re-setting the SMC (only do if restarting doesn't help--read the article) http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411

  • What happened to Customer Service and Loyalty!!

I had been a VZW customer for about 7years and i have always had a good relationship with them until 12/26/13.(guess cuz i never needed help with anything) long story short, I dropped my phone and needed a replacement.. i had insurance but was due for an upgrade in early feb.. so i went into the store to see if it was possible to upgrade now that way i wouldn't have to pay the 100 dollars for the insurance claim on a phone i no longer wanted, just to turn around a pay another 300 to upgrade in another month and a half.. the sales person who happened to be the manager at the store (arroyo crossings las vegas) totally blew me off and was not interested in helping me or keeping me as a customer even after i explained my situation..Left the store and went straight to sign up with AT&T .. i guess im just a customer that pays her bill on time and has been loyal to a company who could care less about being loyal..

I am bitterly disappointed in Verizon......they did use to be a decent company....sort of.  now they are greedy and arrogant.  no customer loyalty and bending over backwards to keep customers, much less to keep customers happy.  I moved to a new home recently, and who knew you should check out your (removed) cellphone's signal in addition to checking that all drains and electrical switches in the house work?  so in this new place, I have NO signal inside the house and very little outside the house.  it's not my fault Verizon's towers don't friggin' work here...and again, who knew?  so they want $175 plus 75 before a "discount" for a "coverage extender," and I can't pay that.  great.  they are willing to let me out of my contract for free.  is a stupid Catch-22 for both of us. not only that, but I have other family members on this plan.  so the (removed) with Verizon.... I'll check into CREDO who operate under Sprint.  yech.....this is sickening....

  • Customer Service and Upgrading.

I am use to going into the Apple Store and purchasing Apple products that way.  I have an upgrade and my 2 contracts are expired.  There is an icon in My Verizon under upgrade this device (which is the Moto cell phone) to an iPhone.  Is this a safe way to get the best deal from Verizon, know if I can get applecare, if they have any classes that teach how to use the iPhone, and gives me the ability to use the discounts I should have coming?  Like the New Every Two (I know  this is not around anymore but I still have it coming to me), what packages they have for this phone?  How to avoid being overcharged or going over with calls, texts, data usage, etc.  In other words, even if I hve a $30 NE2 and a $50 NE2 for the MIFI2200 that has not worked this past year with tech agents that tell me they have no idea what the problem is?
I am trying to get a supervisor before I run away from this company.  It used to be so easy with this one page that I pull down "I get a monthly statement" and the next web page I just sent the email but now why have they made it nearly impossible to find out how to send customer service an email?
Does anybody know a good company to go with if they want to get an iPhone and still get a mobile hot spot?  I am hoping the 4G hotspot will work where I live, but the 3G has not worked since I moved to this address for the past year and  I still have been over charged and paying the $49.99 for a service that has not worked and the tech agents have no idea why it is not working.

With your questions, it would be best to just go into a Verizon store and talk to a rep there. What you're asking is exactly everything they go over with you in-store.
As far as classes that teach you how to use the iPhone, you won't need that. The iPhones are made to be SUPER user friendly, and they are. Everything is very plain and self explanatory.

  • Why do i have to pay $100 more than a new customer for the new 3gs

im 1 yr in to a 2 yr contract on my iphone 3g. when i go to preorder my new 3gs phone the price is $100 more than a new customer. this isnt really a question but a complaint that im afraid niether apple nor att will give a hoot about. how bout some love for customer loyalty?

This has nothing to do with customer loyalty and has everything to do with subsidized phones. You must fulfill your existing contract requirement for an existing subsidized phone before you are eligible for upgrade or the fully subsidized price with a new phone. The same applies with every carrier in regards to subsidized phones. The has been standard policy with every carrier in the U.S. in regards to subsidized phones for the last 10 years plus.

  • What happened to New Every 2?

I'm past my upgrade date and the site says I can upgrade with discounted pricing.
But when I start the upgrade process, I'm offered a HTC One at $199 which is the standard 2 year pricing.
Verizon used to have a $50 discount on phones if you waited until your contract expired. Is that gone? (I was expecting to see a price of $149 for this phone).
Does Verizon offer any incentive/reward for loyal customers anymore (10+ years now)?
    -tomas

The New Every Two program was retired in the first half of 2011. Around January 16, 2011 I believe. If you upgraded and renewed  prior to that date, you were allowed one last discount. However the discount also had an expiration date attached to it as well. You had to use it within six months of becoming upgrade eligible. Verizon Wireless later cut it off completely in April 2013. http://news.verizonwireless.com/news/2013/04/verizon-wireless-upgrade-statement.html

  • I added a calendar event to repeat every two weeks, but it repeats every day.

I've added a calendar event to repeat every two weeks, but it repeats every day.  The original event was set up for all Day on Wednesday, Nov 5.  Setting up for a single  day worked fine.  Add the repeat option and select every two weeks...and it shows up every day until the end date.  I've re-booted the phone and tried other start dates.  Same result.  This is in the base iPhone calendar.  No other calendars have been installed.   iPhone 6  iOS 8.0.2.  Any suggestions?

    Found a workaround:
Just change each attribute 1 item at a time.
Create the calendar entry for one day only with no other settings.
Go back in and edit it so that its every two weeks, then leave and confirm this worked.
Open calendar back up and add in the end date.
That's the only way I could get it to accept those settings, one attribute at a time.
Misc. bug I suppose.  I miss the "It just works" days.  Living in silicon valley, the QA engineering buds I have at apple go on rants about the undisclosed/undiscovered but known bugs in ios every time we're having drinks.  From what I hear, internally IOS8/8.1 weren't ready for prime time push just yet.
