Master-detail jsp for bc4j using JBO tags

I have created a master-detail jsp for bc4j using JBO tags. However, I can not get the correct result. There are some examples on OTN, but they are about jsp programs. How to define the relationship of the master view-object and the detail view-object?

A Master Detail Page is a basically a game between two VOs(Master and Detail mostly connected through a View Link). You can also have a look at the View Link section in the Dev guide. Page Layouts is one thing which you can take a call yourself.

Using jbo tags in 10.1.3 release 3

I migrated some projects created in 10.1.2 to 10.1.3 as we have started using jsf but will also need to use some of our older code which uses jbo tags.
When I try to run a jsp page using the <jbo:ApplicationModule .../> tag I get the following error:

I tried just creating the application module using the Configuration class which then was able to create the app module but the datasources couldn't reference it and this would be too large of a change to make on all of our existing code.

You're encountering bug# 5880457
The workaround is that you need to create the additional JSP page by hand.

JSP for BC4J wizard not finding BC4J Views

I have generated a simple BC4J component against a table.
I am now trying to create JSPs for BC4J via the wizard, and when I am at the dialog that says 'Select data model definition' I select my BC4J component, but the view window is empty, I can't select a view.
There are views in my component, and the component tests ok with the test tool.
Any ideas where I am going wrong?

You need to edit your application module and add view usages to it. Using view objects is a two step process:
1. you need to first create your view objects
2. add references to your view objects to you application module.

Yes i did try the same ..

When i checked the mtest table it shos me the row inserted...
inside foolter .. Now this means everything did get execute properly
But still the vallue of off_city is null or emtpy...
i check the filed and still its empty..
while mtest had those records..seems like some process is cleaining the values...but cant see such process...
a bit confused..here..I tried on Load after footer...
tried chaning the squence number of process ..but still it doesnt help
some how the session variables gets changed...and it is changed to empty

Can I still build JSP for BC4J in 10g

Hi,
I recently downloaded 10g preview version and I was trying to build the JSP pages for BC4J as I did in previous 9i versions. But 10g doesn't give me that option in the File - New - Web Tier menu. There is only 1 option for plain JSP available in the menu. Is this because of 10g preview version OR did I miss sth?

Yes you can build JSPs for BC4J backend in JDeveloper 10g.
Check out the tutorials page (linked from the JDeveloper main page http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev ) to see how it is done (a little different than the 9i way).

How do I - MASTER -DETAIL JSP

How do I create a simple Master-Detail page in JSP like Oracle Forms type.
I want to show/enter one master record and multiple child records and let the users enter data. I DO NOT WANT TO CREATE SEPERATE MASTER AND SEPERATE DETAIL JSP PAGE. I want the basic Master-Detail Form like Oracle Forms.

In our current release, we dont generate a single-page master-detail editing page. You would are missing an editable data-grid tag for this to be possible. You can create this control yourself using the provided datatags.

Urgent! Simple master detail jsp without ADF.

We need to develop a master detail page. personal and detail process record for that personal.
This will work on the web so We are using jsp technology.
(We are using tomcad so We can't use ADF because of deployment problem. maybe the fallowing phase ADF will be used.)
We can't find these kind of sample java and web. Especially data grid type interface on the web.
This is very important program and we need urgently finish.

You can use ADF with Tomcat, you just need to install the ADF runtime libraries on your tomcat.
There is a toole->install ADF Runtime option for this.

Some dummies need help in master detail jsp page

We don't know how to use data control to generate a jsp master detail page in case of many-to-many relationships. We didn't find any info about this and our testcase never display the data of the last iterator.
We have
a collection that contains department object.
a collection that contains the relationship between department and employee (the many-to-many relationship)
an object that represent the employee
The structure is correct in the data control.
We are able the create our page for both first and second collection but it is not possible to display the detail of the corresponding employee in the detail table. When the table is generated from this level no data is displayed.
Is it somewhere described how to solve such problem ?
Does somebody know how to do ?

Hm, your requirements sound like homework assignment from classroom. If so, is itn't better that you find the answer youself? There are plenty of very relevant references for how to use jsp to handle html forms or talk to a rdbms through a jdbc connection. For example, for jsp and html forms, you can google "jsp html forms"; for jsp and sql query, search for "jsp jdbc".
Tell me if this is not helpful.

Though the above steps generates xml output while trying to generate in APEX it says unsupported datatype. Tried using DBMS_LOB as well no luck. Any inputs will be quite helpful. Should there be any other way to incorporate master detail report printing in APEX kindly advise.

    The Report Query itself generates XML data (in the required BI Publisher format). So, no need to generate it like this.
    As you are using table functions your query should be of the type:
SELECT EMPNO
            , ENAME

    FROM TABLE ( EMP_PKG.GET_EMPLOYEES ( :PXX_DEPTNO ))
    where EMP_PKG.GET_EMPLOYEES is packaged table function which returns the Object Table of type EMP_TAB mentioned above.
    When you test the above Report Query with sample DEPTNO, it will generate the sample XML, which you can use to generate Report Layout in RTF format using BI Publisher Desktop.

How to hide a column in master-detail jsp

My jsp contail a master view and a detail view ,and have a link between two,i want hide the column in the detail view as it was shown in master view,How can i do?

Assuming you are using BC4J - double click on the view object to edit it. Go to the attributes section and shuttle the attribute you want to hide back to the left.

Creation of Master-Detail Form for new record.

This is my requirements. Please help me to complete my task.
I have two tables Master and Detail. Detail have foreign key relationship with Master.
I want to design the page Master table columns are in header portion and Detail table columns are in af:table.
When i load the page, it should contain empty header portion and one empty row in the table and table should contain Create, Edit and Delete button.
I want to use one Save (Commit Operation) only. If i save the record it should insert first in Master table and then detail table.
I gone through lot of documents but not able to find anything related to my need.

Yes Frank, I am planning to create master and detail within one form and one submit action to save the master and detail values in the table. In detail table i want to have only create and delete operation for the rows.
Example:

PO ID -- input value
Name -- input value
Detail - table row.

<save> --- this is for entire master and detail. Need to save the master and detail after user entered in the screen.

3. I create a view link to create master-detail relationship for these 2 view objects.
masterview.SourceBlock (1)->detailview.SourceBlock (*).
4. I create a tree table using these 2 view objects with master-detail relationship.
When I set default value for variable bindings of these 2 view objects and the matching records exist, tree table can work well. I can expand the master row to display detail row in UI.
But I need to pass in dymamic parameter value for variable bindings of these 2 view objects, tree table cannnot work again. when I expand the master row and no detail row are displayed in UI.
I am sure that I pass in correct parameter value for master/detail view objects and matching records exist.

5. What's wrong in my implementation? I don't have no problem to implement such a tree table if using simple master-detail tables view object, but now I have to use such 2 view objects using complex SQL for my requirement and variable bindings are necessary for detail view object although I also think a bit strange by myself.

Now I have changed the JDBC to Sybase jConnect (jconn4.jar) and driver class is com.sybase.jdbc4.jdbc.SybXADataSource and other entries remains the same as it was before.
