Master Detail Multi Detail Form

Hello,
How can I create a master detail with more than one detail form.
Do I need to link this in the viewlink or view object?
Could someone provide some insight into this?
Thanks
Rgds

I have a big issue.
Let us consider : Item , SubItem relationship.
Component : Item VO , SubItemVO , Item can have many subitem.
1.Created ItemVO
2.Create SubItemVO
3.Create View Link based on ItemVo-ItemId that is FK in SubItem table.
4.Created JSF page and Dragged ItemVO from Datacontrol to JSF Pagen as ADF ReadOnly Table.
5.Expanded Item table structure in Structure window and open the detailstamp.
6.Dragged SubItemVO in detailstamp as ADF ReadOnly table.
Expected Result :
1. ItemVO First Row
1.SubItems belonging to ITEMVO First Row
2.SubItems belonging to ITEMVO First Row
2.ItemVO Second Row.
1.SubItems belonging to ITEMVO Second Row
Current Result :
1. ItemVO First Row
1.SubItems belonging to ITEMVO First Row
2.SubItems belonging to ITEMVO First Row
2.ItemVO Second Row.
1.SubItems belonging to ITEMVO First Row
2.SubItems belonging to ITEMVO First Row
Description: Second ItemVO when expanded shows first ItemVO SUBITEMS.

  • One Master with Multi Details on separate tabs

    Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out how to get a single master record on the main page and then below that 5 tabs with a separate detailed table on each tab.
I'm trying to modify the "page with 2 level tabs" template, but unfortunately I am not familiar with the syntax and everything keeps breaking. Would anyone be able to share the syntax to do this?
Also I am creating multiple detailed tabular forms - are there any shortcuts on how to do this? Or do I just have to manually create each detail after the first?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
Take a look at this example http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:55
It has inpage tabs based off of regions

  • Master-Detail Multi-Row Insert

Im still using Oracle forms 6i. How do we create here in ADF for the transaction in master-detail operation specially in inserting multi-row in detail. In forms we can use key-next item trigger next_record for new record transaction for drugs or we can use bar code scanning to insert new records & automatically go to next records waiting for another input...
pls help me i want to upgrade & pls sorry for my english...
just want this adf behave like forms in terms of master-detail transaction entry...
i appreciate if someone can help me or give me demo file to download & play with it...

    tnx for the fast reply..
im new with jdeveloper and no knowledge in java or html. im concentrated in pl/sql , forms 6i.We still using this until now in character base in unix environment but some module in gui mode.im working in hospital which is complete informations sytem (stock,pharm..etc...gl...) which in bulk transactions specially patients outclinic & inpatients charges.now we have also this reservations system for out clinics thats the reason im like to develop for in a web that a patient can reserve on line and i dont like running our application in different front end (forms 6i &jdeveloper).
(now currently checking form10g & just set up AS10g which is working.can deploy and connect,LAN). but im very interested in ADF when i see the demo on Oracle website.
now our company pplanning to change our application to power builder whiich is not good in performance regarding in hadling big databases (slow query, needs burst AS...) thru to the demonstration of the
    apllication vendors.
im very glad if you can help. can you post a links or demo file to do this as you said....(You can replicate the code in the button in some other event on your page, for example when the value of the last field in the row is changed.
It all comes down to the question of when you actually want to create a new row, and in that event you call the createInsert method.)
this is my only problem now to make this master-detail multi-row insert like ora form.
    again sorry for my english...

  • Master-detail page with form layout -- insert only -- not in create mode

    JDeveloper 10.1.3.1 with JHeadstart
I have the following master-detail structure in JHeadstart:
    Group 1, Table a, Layout: table-form
    Group 2, Table b, Layout: table-form
Group 3, Table c, Layout: form
Group 4, Table d, Layout: form (on same page as master table c)
Table a, b and c are updatable (insert, update and delete).
I have problems with the last page, tables c and d, master-datail both in form layout.
The master-table (c) is not an insert-only table, the detail table needs to be an insert-only form on the same page as the master table c.
    Settings Table d:
Advanced search and quick search: none
    Autoquery: disabled
Single row insert allowed (other options in Operations disabled)
In my view object I have used the settings in the JDeveloper guide 8.1.2 ('no rows...' in tab Tuning).
I run my application in JDeveloper (with the option run in my ViewController-project, which means that I am not running my detail page directly in JDeveloper??) and when I open this last page, the detail form is not in create mode (I see no rows found and a create rows button).
I have read several threads in this forum, but I do not know how to solve this problem.

    This does not work.
In my first post I made an mistake in describing my application, it is not a table-form, but a tree-form application:
    Group 1, Table a, Layout: tree-form
    Group 2, Table b, Layout: tree-form
    Group 3, Table c, Layout: tree-form
Group 4, Table d, Layout: form (on same page as master table c)
If I override the executeQueryForCollection method in the ViewObjectImpl of table d I get a message ('JBO-27122: SQL-fout tijdens voorbereiding van statement' and 'java.sql.SQLException: OALL8 is in an inconsistent state').
while clicking on the tree (with table b and c). It seems that the QueryForCollection method is being executed to early.

  • Implement Master Detail type of form

Does anybody have tutorial or sample code to implement a master-detail kind of form?
    I am really stuck here.
    Could anyone please help?

I have looked into that topic, but still i could not figure out.
When we query display the form in Update mode, by just querying the Master record, the Detail records don't show up.
I have used a Simple table for my detail records, but the master record is just some text field.
The rows dont appear in the Simple Table.
This is the problem that i am getting.

  • Problem in implementing Master-Detail-Detail design in Forms 6i

    Hi, all technocrats!!
Here i've problem in Master-Detail-Detail sort of design in
    Forms 6i..
This thing i've implemented earlier in one form...and that is
fine...and i could not track the root when i've got a problem in
a new form...which of the same manner...
    The problem is that...
When i enter data into the 1st detail block and navigate to the
2nd detail which is a detail block to the 1st detail...and enter
data, there is no problem, but when i navigate back to the 1st
detail block and that to a new record in the 1st detail...form
is showing indefinite behaviour( Hanging )...
But when i navigate back to the same record in the 1st detail
from the 2nd detail...there were no problems and it is working
    fine...
And whenever i shift to a new record in the first detail it is
asking to save that record...to solve this problem., i've used
POST in the new block instance of the 1st detail...and i'm
comfortably managing it...if i dont use this POST method...it is
clearing the details in the 1st detail itself when i traverse
back to it from 2nd detail after inserting records...
But this hanging problem is really driving me to Hang myself...
Plz do suggest me to get rid of this problem...

Developing proper transactional behavior with Oracle Forms
in Grandparent-Parent-Child case is a problem.
We must use some 'container' for 'non-visible' Child records
(Child records with Parent different from current record in
    Parent block).
I try to solve this problem in 2 different ways:
    1. Using POST built-in. In this case 'container' is Child
database table. But, problem can be because POST built-in
actually executes DML statements (this locks records and fires
database triggers - so a deadlock can occur) before COMMIT_FORM.
    2. Using a 'temporary container'. 'Temporary container' can be
(for example) temporary database table, PL/SQL table of records
(defined in Forms package or database package), Forms record
group. This variant has not problem with record locks/database
triggers, but is much more complex for programming than 1.
    variant.
In my development, when I haven't problem with record locks or
database triggers, then I use POST. In other cases, I use 2.
variant, with PL/SQL table of records (defined in Forms package)
    as 'temporary container'.
Further, when we use POST, we can do this in more ways.
One method is to use POST in Forms level WHEN-NEW-RECORD-
    INSTANCE trigger.
Different method is to change code in CLEAR_ALL_MASTER_DETAILS.
    Instead of:
    CLEAR_BLOCK (ASK_COMMIT);
    we can write:
    IF mastblk = "name_of_master_block" THEN
    CLEAR_BLOCK (ASK_COMMIT);
    ELSE
    POST;
    END IF;
    Which method you use?

  • How to create a JClient form with one master block & multiple detail block?

    Hello,
    I am using Jdevelopver 10.1.2
I want to have a JClient Form with one master table A and two detail tables B, C.
But in the JClient Form wizard, I can only create a one master with one detail relationship. Can I create multiple details in that wizard ?
    Thanks

Create a JPanel based on the second detail table with the wizard and add manually the JPanel to the Master-detail Form.

  • ADF BC - One Master and Two Detail pages How To?

I have an existing ADF BC .jspx master-detail page that works fine. It shows one product as the master (read-only; no navigation controls) and assocatied customer feedback as the detail (multiple records; read-only.) Now I also want to compute some averages from the same table used to create the detail view object. I have created a second view object because this requires a separate query that calculates aggregate values. I want to take advantage of using view links so that this 2nd view object is automatically linked to the master record via the primary key.
My question is how can I link this into the existing master-detail data control so that I can drag/drop it to include id on the existing .jspx page and the primary key linkages will be handled automatically?
    Tables
    Product
    Feedback
    View Objects
    ProductView
    FeedbackView
    FeedbackAVGView
    Current ViewLink
    ProductFeedbackViewLink = ProductView + FeedbackView
    Current DataControl
    ProductFeedbackViewLink-Instance
Data Control is displayed on .jspx page; want to also include 3rd View Object, FeedbackAVGView, in the Master-Detail relationship and display on the .jspx page

Thanks for the reply. The existing customer feedback view object displays the customer's text feedback (testimonials) - these will be displayed in a read-only table with multiple records.
The new view object aggregates the ratings score from the customer feedback (same FEEDBACK database table) and will use a form to display the results (not multiple rows.) The PK is included in the aggregate view object query.
Note there is already an existing viewlink between the PK (Master) and FK (Feedback) - in the data control, this viewlink is an instance of the Master View Object and the Customer Feedback View object. Now that I have created a third view object, should I create another View Link between the Master View Object and the Customer Feedback AVERAGES View Object? If I do this, how do I include it in the existing .jspx page? If I add this new View Link to the Application Module I will have two different Data Controls:
Data Control #1: Master (Product) View Object + Customer Feedback View Object #1 (implemented as a master-detail read-only form/table on a .jspx page)
Data Control #2: Master (Product) View Object + Customer Feedback AVG View Object #2
I'm confused as to how to integrate the second customer feedback view object into the existing Data Control / Master-Detail read-only form/table on my .jspx page?
    thanks

  • Master with multiple details

(JHeadstart release 10.1.2.) I can make a master with multiple detail pages work (displayed on the same page or different pages), except under one condition. Assume the following situation:
Master: View object A based on entity A
Detail 1: View object B based on entity B with a modified WHERE clause
Detail 2: View object C based on entity B (yes, same entity object as view object B) with a WHERE clause different than the one for view object B
A one-to-many view link exists between view object A and view object B, and another exists between view object A and view object C. The query for each of the view objects is standard (i.e., no expert-mode queries). The master and the two detail view objects (via their respective view links) are assigned to an application module.
I created a JHeadstart application structure file for the application module with Struts and UIX. I added view object A as the top group (table-form layout). I next added view object B as a detail group (form layout, same page) beneath view object A. I finally added view object C as a detail group (form layout, same page) beneath view object A (i.e., parallel to view object B). The module generated and built cleanly.
I ran the application, entered a master record, and saved the data. When I pressed the button to create a new record for detail 1 (view object B), fields appeared for the pages for detail 1 and detail 2 (view object C), not just detail 1. Also, the value of the Descriptor Attribute from the master record that linked it to the two detail pages populated the corresponding field in both of the displayed pages for the detail records.
This behavior does not occur if view object C (detail 2) is based on an entity different than view object B. Will JHeadstart allow a master to have multiple details where the details are based on the same entity object? Thanks.
    Ray

    Ray,
Unfortunately I cannot reproduce the problem. I filled in the A, B and C using a scott/tiger schema as follows:
    A: Departments
    B: All employees having a salary < 1000
    C: All employees having a salary >= 1000
Then I created an application module with one group having two subgroups everything same page, just like you specified. Everything seemed to work fine. Do you have any idea what's different in your situation.

  • Master with many details

    Hello Marvel team and Others,
Is it possible with thee html db wizard to create a page contaning a master with more than one details ?, I think no , please if No, can I do it manually ? Any ideas are welcome.
    This is my need :
The same page mmust contain :
    udpatable items for the master
    updatabee report for each detail
insert details for an existeing master
delete details from an existing master
insert a new master with his details
deletee a master, of course with his details
    Jina.

The Add Rows button submits the page and re-renders it with additional N rows in that region. Any changes made in that region will be saved.
Perhaps what you need is some client-side DHTML/Javascript to dynamically add some rows in your tabular form.
    See
Re: Copy Values From Tabular Form for a discussion about that and an example at http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=24317:227
But all this is straying far outside the out of the box functionality and you have to write everything yourself. You should re-evaluate some of your business requirements before going down this path.
In other words, having a master-detail-detail, all of them editable, one global SAVE button for all of them, client-side Add Rows functionality, and all on the same page...is a highly unusual UI.
    Good luck.

  • Examples of Master with multiple details

    Hi Leo,
I want to create Master with multiple details
I have been trying for the similar example (Master with multiple details) for long time.
It seems in the following link, you have mentioned that you have done such examples.
Examples/Demos of APEX applications with Master with Multiple Details.
Can you please share the solution to my emaid address [email protected]
Or can anybody help me to get such solution with examples step by step.
I would highly appreciate for any help.
    Thanks.

    Ok, so here's the rundown.
Create a page with one "master" html region. In that region create your standard text/date/etc. items. Make sure that one of these is a hidden key field that is the key linking the master and details portions. Use a calculation to pre-populate the field from a sequence (or whatever uniqueness generator you choose). It is important to generate this key up front for the processing.
Next I created one report region for each detail table I wanted to link in. Make sure to count the total number of fields you want to work with and that the total is LESS than 50. This is critical. The report should be selecting the columns from APEX_COLLECTIONS for display and manipulation on the screen. It is best to explicitly associate these to the Javascript column numbers now. I used a process to pre-populate my detail entry areas with default values for ease. I also included a button to add a row to each area, but you have to be careful here to use a good combination of form attributes so that the page refreshes don't SUBMIT yet.
Once you have a report region generated from APEX_COLLECTIONS, you have to create the update processes that pull the information from the user modifications into the collection. This is the trickiest part of the whole thing. You have to use the APEX_COLLECTION.UPDATE_ITEM method, and you have to refer to the JavaScript column numbers for the source value and the collection column number for the destination. It is really easy to get these confused - I advise putting this all into a document or on a whiteboard for reference.
Once you have the update processes written (I prefer writing one update process per detail section), write your processes to write the data to the database. Again, I suggest one process for each detail table. Trigger them to fire on submit.
I also suggest creating a debug page to display all of the various collections and to help keep things straight. Once you have one detail area working, it is easier to get the others working.
If you need actual code snippets, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

  • Master with two details(child) relation?

    Hi guys,
I 'd like to have a Form with one master table and two detail tables.
The business component wizard doesn't allow
    me to create this relation.
Although these two details table are logically children of the master but have not defined specifically Foreign key for them on table/database level.
I created Associations via JDev3.1 to join
these master with details, but still business
component wizard didn't allow me to have
    one master and two details.
Do i have to create foreign keys to join children to master on database level or
I can create an association with JDev? How?
    Thx

You could use "New"/"BC" and create a ViewLink with the same name as the FK Assoc. If you edit the PackageModule, you should be able to see your FK link in there.

  • ADF 10.1.3: Simultaneous insert of Master and Multiple detail records

    Hi,
I'm trying to implement an Insert page (JSP document) having a Master table form and Multiple detail records grid with a Pop up to insert Detail records into the grid.
The user should be able to input Master record details, then Detail records one by one, and finally insert all into the database.
I'm wondering how this could be done using the Drag n drop feature of ADF (with ADF faces, JSF and Toplink) to the maximum extent.
Please give me a rough guideline on how this could be done.
    Thanks in advance
