Hi All,
I want to fetch ITS related information (SITSPMON Tcode) in my JAVA application. But i didnt find much BAPIs for the same. While debugging I came accross few class methods with help of which I can get the required information. So is there any way we can call and execute methods of ABAP classes through java application?
for e.g. I want to call GET_VERSION method of CL_ITSP_UTIL class.

Hi,
Yes, as per my knowledge the only way to interact is using BAPI exposed as RFCs. So try to invoke those class methods in one CUSTOM BAPI and expose that BAPI as RFC and consume that RFC to get those details.

it looks like it's not possible to call this BAPI wihtout material number. Here is a quote from BAPI documentation.
When creating material master data, you must transfer the material
number, the material type, and the industry sector to the method. You
must also enter a material description and its language.

Yes,
Click patterns.
Then choose Abap objects patterns.
Click on the Tick
It will give a new screen
Here Give the name of the class first.
Then the object (instance of the calss)
And finally the method ..
it will give you the pattern

There are two types of componenets in a class
1)Static components
2) Instance components
Instance components exist for every instance of the class, while static exist only once for any number of instances of the class.
Components of the class are methods, attributes, events etc.
static attributes are represented by CLASS-DATA and instance attributes are represented by DATA.
static methods hence are done by CLASS-METHODS and can access only static attributes.
Instance methods are done by METHODS and can access any attribute.
For eg: supposing that in a class, there is a static attribute. Suppose after one instance is created, we are setting this static attribute value as 10. Now we are creating another instance of the same class. Now when you try to display the value of this attribute, it will be 10.ie. it needs to be initialized once and can be shared between instances.

ABAP class method with dialogue

Hi all,
I want to use a ABAP class method within a Workflow definition with user interaction. The SAP help says, that is possible, but I couldn't find a way, to mark the method as "with dialogue".
For BOR-objects there is a checkbox in the details for the method definition. Can anybody tell me, how it can be done?

Hi Nicolas,
When you create the Task with the ABAP OO Method, you can select it as "Background Processing" else it will be a "Dialog Process".
If you notice here, "Background Processing" checkbox will be editable if ABAP OO Method is used, whereas in case of Business Objects it directly comes from method definition.

Hi,
You can correlate ur class mthods to webdynpro by declaring the reference variable for the class under the Atticbutes tab of the Component controller in se80 as
Attribute : <ref_variable>
Asssociated type : <class_name>
and tick the Public and RefTo checkbox.
Now using the reference variable,one can access the class methods .

In webdynpro ,Passing field symbols as values to class methods

Hi
Please tell me the ways of accessing database in webdynpro abap(not directly). I am calling Class method for accessing database. As currently I am directly accessing database in my webdynpro application. I have created a class and method for the same.
In my method I want to use select statement which will return table with values to webdynpro application. So for select statement(Calling Method) I need to use my field symbol values as where in clause .
Could anyone please help with example code?

data: in_line type ref to data.
CREATE DATA in_line LIKE LINE OF <dyn_tab>.
ASSIGN in_line->* TO <dyn_wa>.
You can create a data reference and assign it to a field symbol and change the values. direclty passing field symbols is not possible.

You cannot nest class declarations, but there happens to be a way of implementing the functionality you desire, though too tedious to be useful practically. You can use a combination of a "CREATE PRIVATE" class and the Friendship idea to do this. A quick and dirty example is :

Query related to replication method supported by ORACLE in 10g...

I have few question related to ORACLE replication methods. I have two database on different machine and I want to copy at schema level from source to target database.
for this I have few queries related to Replication method as stated below:
1- I have two option one is Materailized view and another is Stream.
2- if I go for Materialized view then what it's advantage in compare to Stream?
3- if I go for Stream replication then what it's benefits?
4- For stream replication I have read that its require to set "global_names=true", with out this can we able to setup stream replication?
Please suggest me optimal solution.

By that way you enforce that a dblink has same name as the DB it connects to.
Else about Stream the both (Source and Target) databases should be in Archivelog mode.
More over, Stream Replication allow to replicate DDL change (for instance you add a column on a Table), and have much more features than Materalized Views. If you want to share datas among several databases, Stream is an interesting technology.
Materialized view is more suitable on DSS database.

The application name is not necessarily uniqueue! Customers may create two applications with same name in different systems/clients and transport them into the same target system/client!
You do the mapping with the query:
CL_FDT_FACTORY=>GET_INSTANCE( )->GET_QUERY()->...
There are two methods. One for mapping ID to name and one for name to ID.
There is also a sample report in package SFDT_DEMO_OBJECTS.

How to call a Screens modules inside class methods in ALV of OOABAP.

I have a urgent reruirement to call a screen's PBO and PAI module inside a class method. I really dont want to create a function module and call the the screen inside that. Please revert if anyone have a solution as it is really urgent!!

There are only two purposes for which procedural ABAP is essential:
· Encapsulation of classic screens in function modules.
· When you want to make functions available to other systems, but are not able to make class methods available externally using XI server proxies. In this case, you have to use function modules.
