Materialized views are showing up under Tables in SQL developer  2.1.0.63

Please,
Is there any setting to not display materialized view objects under the Tables in sql developer 2.1.0.63 ?
This was not happening in previous versions.
Thanks.

Yes, right-click the Tables node, Apply Filter, select Exclude MVs in the listbox.
Have fun,
K.

  • How to prevent materialized views from refreshing if source table is zero

    any ideas?

    Probably not what you were hoping for but here are a couple of ideas.
    Your account shows - 113 (85 unresolved)
    1. How about helping to keep the forum clean by reviewing your 85 unresolved previous questions and giving HELPFUL or ANSWERED credit to those that helped you in the past.
    2. Read the FAQ at the top right of the page and post the information about your system and software so that we know what you are working with.
    3. Ask your question in the body of the thread. Don't just say 'Any ideas'.
    What exactly is your question? Is this an academic question or do you have an actual problem that needs to be addressed?
    If you have an actual problem produce the DDL for the materialized view and information about the type of refresh that has been set up for it. Is there a materialized view log on the base table(s)?
    The simple answer to your quest is to use REFRESH ON DEMAND and check the base table(s) before you do a manual
    refresh. The best answer depends on what version of Oracle you are using and what your actual setup is. Are your
    MVs in REFRESH GROUPS?. That can make a difference in the answer.
    How can anyone help with this question if you won't provide the information needed(FAQ)? Why SHOULD anyone help if you show you don't appreciate the help by marking questions answered once you have been helped.

  • Need some help understanding the way materialized views are applied through

    Hi, I need some help understanding the way materialized views are applied through adpatch.
    In patch 1, we have a mv with build mode immediate. When applying it PTS hang due to pool performance of mv refresh.
    So we provide patch 2, with that mv build mode deferred, hoping it'll go through. But patch 2 hang too on the same mv.
    How does this work? Is that because mv already exists in the database with build immediate, patch 2 will force it to refresh first before changing build mode? How to get over this?
    Thanks,
    Wei

    Hi Hussein,
    Thank you for the response.
    Application release is 11.5.10.
    Patch 1 is MSC11510: 8639586 ASCP ENGINE RUP#38 PATCH FOR 11.5.10 BRANCH
    Patch 2 is MSC11510: 9001833 APCC MSC_PHUB_CUSTOMERS_MV WORKER IS STUCK ON "DB FILE SEQUENTIAL READ" 12 HOURS
    The MV is APPS.MSC_PHUB_CUSTOMERS_MV
    This happens at customer environment but not reproducable in our internal environment, as our testing data is much smaller.
    Taking closer look in the logs, I saw actually when applying both patch 1 and patch 2, MV doesn't exist in the database. So seems my previous assumption is wrong. Still, strange that patch 2 contains only one file which is the MV.xdf, it took 7 hours and finally got killed.

    HOW TO OPEN MULTIPLE TABLES IN SQL DEVELOPER SIMULTANEOUSLY

    Use the 'pin' on your table editor
    http://www.thatjeffsmith.com/archive/2011/11/sql-developer-quick-tip-pin-query-result-sets-and-plans/
    Then open your 2nd table. If you want to see both at the same time, right-click on the table editor tab and select 'New Editor Tab Group'

  • Cannot view the tables in SQL developer

    Hi everybody,
    I just installed SQL developer and connected to my oracle DB but I am not able to see the tables..I can execute though any SQL statements...
    I thought of installing Oracle Client but nothig changed... what could be the reason ???

    What do you get by running:
    with tabs as (
    select t.*, rownum rn -- not merge
    from sys.all_tables t
    where owner = :SCHEMA
    ), objs as (
    select o.*, rownum rn -- not merge
    from sys.all_objects o
    where owner = :SCHEMA
    AND O.OBJECT_TYPE = 'TABLE'
    AND O.GENERATED = 'N'
    AND O.OBJECT_NAME NOT IN (SELECT OBJECT_NAME FROM RECYCLEBIN)
    AND O.OBJECT_NAME NOT IN (SELECT MVIEW_NAME FROM SYS.ALL_MVIEWS WHERE :SCHEMA = OWNER)
         AND O.OBJECT_NAME NOT IN (SELECT QUEUE_TABLE from all_queue_tables WHERE :SCHEMA = OWNER)
         AND not ( object_name like 'AQ$_%_G'
    or object_name like 'AQ$_%_H'
    or object_name like 'AQ$_%_I'
    or object_name like 'AQ$_%_S'
    or object_name like 'AQ$_%_T' )
    AND ( user = :SCHEMA or not object_name like 'BIN$%' ) -- user != :SCHEMA --> object_name not like 'BIN$%'
    -- RECYCLEBIN is USER_RECYCLEBIN!
    ) select * from (
    SELECT o.OBJECT_NAME, o.OBJECT_ID ,'' short_name, t.partitioned,t.iot_type, o.OWNER OBJECT_OWNER, o.CREATED, o.LAST_DDL_TIME
    FROM OBJS O , tabs t
    WHERE o.object_name = t.table_name
    union all
    SELECT OBJECT_NAME, OBJECT_ID , syn.SYNONYM_NAME short_NAME,
    t.partitioned,t.iot_type, SYN.TABLE_OWNER OBJECT_OWNER, o.CREATED, o.LAST_DDL_TIME
    FROM sys.all_objects O, sys.user_synonyms syn,sys.all_tables t
    WHERE syn.table_owner = o.owner
    and syn.TABLE_NAME = o.object_NAME
    and o.object_name = t.table_name
    and :INCLUDE_SYNS = 1
    and :SCHEMA = USER
    This is the underlying query in the latest version 1.5.4 with update 2. So if that works, just install that version. If not, use it to investigate where it fails.

  • Reconnect opening an Oracle Table using SQL Developer 3.0 in Windows 7.

    Downloaded SQL Developer 3.1.07 and placed a copy on both Windows XP Pro. and Windows 7 Pro. No issues using SQL Developer under Windows XP, Oracle 10g client driver. However, under Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit PCs), Oracle 10g or 11g client driver, when I click a table name to display the 'Columns, Data, Constraints, ...' fields - I receive a Reconnect message: Your database connection has been reset. Any pending transactions or session state has been lost." I am able to view the Data, Contraints, Grants, ... fields, except for Columns field (no data). Also executing SQL statements to query any of the tables returns expected data. Right-click on database connection shows 'Connect' and 'Reconnect' greyed out, so appears connection exists. So why is the Reconnect message happening? And why can I not see my field definition under Table Columns?

    Thanks, I'll survive. Just my luck, the first item I try to anon. debug didn't work! :)
    thanks, hopefully this problem will be few and far between

    Hi Kamal,
    Some of the comments in this earlier post may be of help:
    Can't view database objects
    Bottom line: the missing method is found in jdbc jars like ojdbc5.jar and ojdbc6.jar, but not in earlier versions. Not sure of exact names, but probably something that came with an Oracle 8i client (maybe ojdbc14.jar?) or even a (much older) jar like classes12.jar would not have that method.
    If you would rather not clean up this probable ORACLE_HOME conflict, you can try a common workaround noted again today in the forum to force use of the ojdbc6.jar that ships with SQL Developer:

  • Function will not run (and shows with red cross in SQL Developer)

    I have created the function below by typing into the "Enter SQL Statement" box in the SQL Developer tool and running. I see the message "create or REPLACE FUNCTION Statement Processed". I see the Function in the tree view, but it has a red cross icon next to it, so I guess somethings wrong with it. When I try to run it I get the message "The selected program is in an invalid state for running. Recompile the program and try again." If I right-click the function and compile then I get no errors but the red cross remains and I still can't run it.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Also, I am planning on supplying a SQL script to customers that will have this function at the top of the script, and then I will use the function throughout the rest of the script to decide whether or not to drop a table before re-creating it. Will that be ok? i.e. will the function be available to the rest of the script, or would the function creation need to be followed by a commit/grant/other?

  • Cannot see table in sql developer or sql plus

    I have created a record in application designer. I have then built the table. I can close the record and then find it again in application designer. But if I go to sql plus or sql developer, I cannot see it. Am I missing a step?

    You probably can see all the tables of sysadm because someone else give you proper grant for that on existing sysadm's objects.
    For the new or modified object (drop+create) you should :
    1. connect as sysadm and run
    grant select on new_table_name to your_own_user;2. connect with your own user and run
    create synonym new_table_name for sysadm.new_table_name;Then you'll be able to query that table without using schema name alias.
    Some admin have also a ddl trigger to make it automatically.
    You could also work through a role and public synonym if more than one user needs to access sysadm's objects.
    Nicolas.

  • Using REF with object table in SQL Developer

    When i create object tables and fill them with data, then in SQL Developer de REF value isn't displayed.
    I did the following:
    CREATE TYPE adres_type AS OBJECT
    (straat VARCHAR2(20)
    ,nummer VARCHAR2(10)
    ,postcode VARCHAR2(6)
    ,plaats VARCHAR2(50));
    CREATE TABLE adressen of adres_type;
    CREATE TYPE locatie_type AS OBJECT
    (nr NUMBER
    ,naam VARCHAR2(20)
    ,adres REF adres_type);
    CREATE TABLE locaties OF locatie_type;
    CREATE TABLE locaties OF locatie_type
    (SCOPE FOR (adres) IS adressen);
    insert into adressen values (adres_type('Arnhemsestraatweg', '33','6881ND','Velp'));
    insert into locaties values (1,'Directie', (select ref (a) from adressen a where a.plaats = 'Velp'))
    Then in SQL Developer de REF(A) column is empty, while in SQL*Plus it displays the REF value:
    In SQL Developer: SELECT a.*, REF(a) FROM adressen a;
    STRAAT NUMMER POSTCODE PLAATS REF(A)
    Arnhemsestraatweg 33 6881ND Velp
    In SQLPLUS: SELECT a.*, REF(a) FROM adressen a;

    Is this a bug or is there another reason why the ID doesnt display in SQL Developer.

    Hello everyone.
    This will be my first time to post something in this forum. I have used SQL Developer for quite sometime already and it has really helped me in my daily tasks. I am looking after multiple databases. I have no problem in moving around in most of them except one. I always encounter this ORA-600 error when I try to click on Tables from the tree on the left-hand side of the screen to list all the tables in the database. The suggested action is to "Report as a bug".
    Hope anyone can help with this.

    Nobody can help without details...
    What DB? What version? Connection details? Can you connect with other tools?

  • Journal tables in SQL Developer Data Modeler

    In my database I use journal tables, which can be generated automatically by Oracle Designer.
    Now that I'm trying to start using SQL Developer Data Modeler, I can't find how to make journal tables with it.
    Does anyone know whether Data Modeler supports journal tables or not? And if it does, how can I generate one?

    No automatic generation you have to create them manually - use copy/paste to speed up the process.
