Mathematical expressions are converted to gibberish

When feeding a pdf with text and equations into ExportPDF, text is correctly converted in the resultant docx but equations or mathematical expressions are returned as gibberish. Is there a way to get correct this?

Yes, but as far as I know, you have to do it yourself. It just boils down to string parsing. I'd rather not give you too much advice for fear that it's a school project. Try it out and post any specific problems that you're having.
Some minor advice... you'll find the String and StringTokenizer classes helpful, along with the java.math package.
I did it by taking the string and converting it to chars and
pushing all the chars on the stackYou deal with stacks but not the stack in Java. Anyways, why use a stack? How will you be able to deal with order of operations if you use a stack and pop them one at a time?

Some CGM graphics do not appear when FrameMaker files are converted to PDF

CGM files are exported from ISO (Arbortext Isodraw 7.0 CadProcess) files. Then they are imported into Adobe FrameMaker 7.2, where all elements of the illustration are visible and can be printed. The FrameMaker FM file is converted to a PDF file using the Adobe PDF converter function of Frame. When the PDF file is opened by Adobe Acrobat 8,0 Professional, some, but not all of the illustrations in the file exhibit this problem (The callouts and other text may appear, but the lines, curves, etc. do not). The illustration prints the same way it appears on the screen. When exporting the ISO file as a CGM, the following selections are made.
When importing file into Frame, "Import by Reference" is selected.
When creating PDF in Frame, the following selections are made.

First you should update to the latest version of Acrobat 8, since you say
you are running Acrobat 8, you should update to 8.2.5. Update your
FrameMaker to 7.2p158. Those two steps might do the trick. If that fails
try using a different settings file. Perhaps High Quality or Press
Quality. I would never use Standard for anything where fidelity is
important.

Links in Reflow are converted to lowercase

URL links in Edge Reflow are converted to lowercase and attempts to restore upper and lower case are overridden by the program. Other than changing the html code in Dreamweaver is there a fix for this or is it a bug?

This is a bug in Reflow. We've fixed it internally and you'll get it in the next release.

If you have a problem with display of fonts in Firefox, you can try to change font setting in Tools menu, Options window, Content panel, fonts section.

Why summaries are converted to character when exported to excel??

When i export my discoverer workbooks to excel, all of my summaries are converted to character type and excel gives error messages for each cell and asks to convert them back to numbers. Its not possible to do so because Discoverer plus is a client tool and no client would prefer rework. They'll simply say why to use Discoverer then?

Using Acrobat DC and the acrobat arrow tool. By right clicking on an image a submenu pops up. One of the items in that list is "Edit Image". Ordinarily or historically this would then open the image in Photoshop as a temp file. Edits could be made and saved and the image would be auto updated back into the PDF. In DC when selecting edit image, the document goes into a edit mode and the entire file gets converted into RGB color. From here one could again right click on the same image and get the option to edit using another program, (like photoshop). When returning back to document mode, the RGB conversion remains.
I determine the files are converted to RGB by using the inspector tool in Acrobat as well as looking at the colorspace in Photoshop
I determined the files were CMYK by building them that way and again verifying using Pitstop inspector.

Which Forms Item properties are converted to APEX?

Has it been documented which Forms item properties are converted to APEX with the Application Migrations tool?
For instance the 'required' property will be converted, but item properties like 'format', 'initial value', 'hint', 'tooltip', 'auto hint', 'justification', 'case restriction' and 'max length' are ignored
I hope more Forms item properties will be converted in a next APEX release.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have read that piece of paper, but it doesn't tell you in detail what item properties are converted.
I would have liked for instance that the "hint text" property is converted into a help text for a page item.
If the auto hint or tooltip is set in forms, than the Template label of a page item should be set to optional/required with help.
and so on...
There are more item properties which could have a destination in APEX, I reckon.
Now it's difficult to tell which are and which aren't converted.
As soon as you have this kind of list you know which post configuration actions you have to perform.

Japanies characters are converting to # in output file in open dataset

Hi Experts,
I am trying to transfer data from my internal table to application server. When i use
Open Dataset e_file for output in text mode encoding NON-UNICODE ignoring convertion errors.
All Japanies and chines characters(double byte characters) are converting to "#" in output file. I have used set locale language commend also.Still same problem is there.

Use the class CL_ABAP_CONV_OUT_CE and use it to convert file from unicode to ascii.
After that you should call OPEN DATASET IN LEGACY MODE and write the file.
you have to find the Code Page format for japanese here..
Is your system Unicode enables, if not please check whether you have japanese installed on your system.
Run the program RSCINST in SE38 which throws a pop up if u work on a Unicode system and also shows what are the language packs currently installed on ur system.... if u dont have Japanese installed then u need to contact Basis People for installion of that language pack

Airport Extreme and Airport Express are not found on the Airport Utility. Internet still works. Huh?

I have an Airport Extreme serving as my wireless router with an external hard drive connected to it. I also have an Airport Express in another room connected to a stereo for Airplay. Neither can be found on the Airport Utility (v5.5.3), but wireless internet still works. This happens often, with both reappearing in Airport Utility for short amounts of time periodically. What's the deal? Both the Extreme and Express are less than 6 months old. It's a bit frustrating not getting tunes when you have everything set up right and not being able to use Time Machine consistently.
All recommendations appreciated.

I've once had the same problem.
The reason for that issue is the frequency (radio band) hopping of the station.
On your AP-Extreme
Enter the manual setup
Disable Guest Network if not desperately needed
Set a dedicated name for the 5GHz wireless (wireless -> wireless options)
Eventually change the radio mode (if no 802.11b/g systems in your home) to "only 802.11n (5GHz) - only 802.11n (2.4GHz)" by holding down the option key *alt* while clicking on the drop down.
On your Mac
Disable (switch off) wireless
Enter system configuration -> network -> wireless
Uncheck "Ask to join new networks"
Enter advanced options and check that your wireless name is in the first position of the list. If not, drag it with the mouse to the first position.

Eventually you might change the settings on the Express too.
Check the location of the AP-Extreme.
It should NOT be placed: On the floor, in a corner, behind furniture, near metal objects, life high voltage wire or cordless phone bases.
It should be placed: As high as possible (up on a shelf or ceiling mounted) with a maximum line of sight to all stations, even thru walls.
If your home situation allows that, try to use the 5GHz band only. If you own a iPhone this must use the 2.4GHz radio.

How to define mathematical expression from the GUI textfield?

I would be very grateful if you could advise in the following problem. I need that an arbitrary function, say f(x)=x^2+sin(x), was entered in the GUI textfield and then this function could be placed, e.g. in a loop for other mathematical calculations. The java program should understand that this is not a text but a mathematical expression. How can I achieve this? I would like to make an online java solver for ordinary differential equations (ODE) system in my university. Therefore the student should define somehow this ODE system, i.e. mathematical expressions, in my Java program.

Hi one pressing enter the fields are converted to upper case

in table maintiance module pool program i have created thre are three fields
kunnr name1 and email id
now on pressing enter on maintiance screen the all the theree fields are converted to upper case i want to avoid this conversion to upper case....
pls suggest
and on pressing enter PAI is callled i want to avoid pai being called at this point of time

yes i have activated the table
for tabel mantiance generater it is coming as disble so i suppose no need to gernereate table mantiance gerneartor again/
ys in dynpro for shp to name uppe or lower case check box is checked but it is coming as disabled.
pls suggest how to delect it and wht does upper/lower case check box in special attributed means?

wheni press enter the fields are converted to upper case i want to avoid this as i dont want to have the upper case
i need to save in table as waht user has inputed not in upper case
so i dont want the fields to be automatically converted to upper case whne pressing enter on screen
