Max Time Out of JDBC adapter?

Hi Experts,
                In one of my scenario i need to get the acknowledgement after  the records have been inserted in the database. Can i increase the timeout of JDBC channel in case of synchronous scenario ?
Or else how can i get the acknowledgement if the data to be inserted is huge (Inserting 1 million records) and takes 30 min to 1 hour time.
Thanks
Ajay Garg

Hi,
You can increase the timeout in case of synchronous scenario but is never recomended to do so. 30 minutes to 1hour is too much time.
You need to change your scenario from Sync to Async. What you can do is create a temp table wihich will update the status each time after all the rows get inserted in database.
Have another JDBC Sender chanel which will keep querying the temp table to see if the new records are inserted or not and based on that you can send response back to the Calling System.
Thanks
Amit

  • Time out for JDBC

    Hi experts,
    How can we set the timeout parameters of the JDBC adapter for an Oracle database?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,

    hi for timeout error
    in JDBC RECEIVER ADAPTER
    Run Operating System Command
    ·        Command Line
    Specify an operating system command that is to be executed following successful database operations.
    ·        Timeout (secs.)
    This specifies the maximum runtime of the executing program in seconds. When this time interval is exceeded, the adapter continues processing. The executing program continues to run in the background.
    ·        Terminate Program After Timeout
    Set this indicator if the adapter is to terminate the executing program in the event of a timeout.
    The adapter writes the output (STDOUT and STDERR) for the operating system command in the system trace.
    Set this indicator if the database connection is to be released and reestablished before every poll interval.
    In your Receiver JDBC adapter there is an option Disconnect From Database After Processing Each Message.
    Select this option and you will not face the issue further.

  • Socket connection time Out - Sender File adapter (Intermittent Issue )

    Dear FrIends,
    In our sender file adapter i am getting the following issue:
    I have already places timout : 120 secs.
    This isssue is occuring intermittently.
    Error occurred while connecting to the FTP server "100.142.131.30:21": java.net.ConnectException: Socket connection timed out: 100.142.131.30:21

    Hi Renu,
    You need to increase the timeout Seconds and check.
    Run the report RSFTP002.
    and check whether the connection to FTP works. Provide the below parameters:
    user = <your ftp user>
    pwd = <your ftp pwd>
    host= <your ftp host/ip>
    command1 = <ls>
    RFC Dest = SAPFTP
    Compress = N
    If the issue still exists, then check  with your BASIS Team.

  • MAX times out when exporting data to TXT

    We are having trouble getting the data out of Lookout.
    We have to send clients the tabular data of the temperatures each week. We have the database connected to an Access database and until this week this method worked wonderfully. We get an error stating that the ODBC connection failed. I tried to disconnect the tables and link them and still nothing. I even created a whole new database and started all over again and still nothing.
    So I tried to get the data out of MAX and export the data to a .TXT file, it gets to 1% and then says "Operation Timed Out" and will not go any further. I get this message only about 1 minute into the export.
    I have tried getting the data out through Excel also, but to no avail.
    Are there any other methods of obtaining the data? It is vital we be able to extract this data.

    Create a new database, and try to archive 4/17~4/19 data, and see if the archive will succeed.
    One or more database files are corrupted, which may not generate error in event viewer.
    What's your lookout version? If it's 4.x or 5.x, take a look at this kb. Follow it to fix the database.
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/6FC62F75B74D706D8625694900768F69?OpenDocument
    But if the file is corrupted, I think you have to lose some data.

  • Sender JDBC adapter slow processing in Production

    Hi All,
    We are facing an issue with processing time for Sender JDBC adapter.
    We tested a scenario in Quality for JDBC to Proxy. In quality the Sender JDBC adapter is taking around 30-50 sec. to send data to PI, but in production the JDBC adapter is taking more then 7 mins to send the same amount of data from DB to PI.
    We have checked the setting in PI; it is same in both the systems (Q and P).
    Even the parameters for both the servers maintained same.
    Can any body please suggest the reason of this behavior and any workaround?
    Regards,
    Rahul

    Based on my experience, these are the things that could be used to improve JDBC performance
    1. You may increase the thread count for JDBC related queues. This has to be done in accordance with SAP Note 1084161.
    2. There is parameter in JDBC communication channel called Maximum Concurrency. It signifies that one communication channel can make how many connections to database. This is 1 by default and could be increased to some values like 3-4.
    3. In the Visual Admin/ NWA, there is a parameter called as queueParallelism.maxReceivers which defines the number of parallel worker threads for one receiver channel instance. This should be done following SAP Note 1136790. This can be done along with the first point.

  • JDBC receiver adapter for AS400-query time out due to Escape Symbol

    Hello,
    I am uisng JDBC receiver adapter for AS 400, When I execute query, the query needs to have arguments in the open and close single ticks ('    12345' )
    My XML pay load looks like this, which is RFC sender. Look at dcudcstmr in <i><b>(' 838912')</b></i>.  When receiver gets this message the ' (single quotes are disappeared.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <ns1:MT_Cma_Customer_Select_Request xmlns:ns1="http://freemanco.com/xi/Get_Customer">

      </LawsonCustomer>
      </Statement>
      </ns1:MT_Cma_Customer_Select_Request>
    On the Receiver JDBC adapter I have tried with different combinations of Escape Symbol for Aposrophe as follows
    <b>   \
       '</b>
    As you know this is related to epcape character, I get following error all the time. Looks like the query is not able to execute in the specified time. My question is how do I get single quote as part of query.
    <b>select f1.DACMCMPNY from sap.sapcustvew f1, sap.sapcustvew f2 where f2.dcudcstmr in ( 100001) and (f1.dcudcstmr=f2.dcudcstmr or f2.komaster=f1.dcudcstmr) 2007-09-20 15:56:42 Error Unable to execute statement for table or stored procedure.     Raj,
    Thank you for the reponse. I am using UDF on sender to generate sql statement as you see in sender XML message. After the message reaching receiver, gets executed but no response from AS400 becasue of missing single quotes in the sql query executed.
    Sender XML sends
    <access>select f1.DACMCMPNY from sap.sapcustvew f1, sap.sapcustvew f2 where f2.dcudcstmr in <u><b>(' 838912')</b></u> and (f1.dcudcstmr=f2.dcudcstmr or f2.komaster=f1.dcudcstmr)</access>
    Receiver executes as
    select f1.DACMCMPNY from sap.sapcustvew f1, sap.sapcustvew f2 where f2.dcudcstmr in ( <b><u>838912</u></b>) and (f1.dcudcstmr=f2.dcudcstmr or f2.komaster=f1.dcudcstmr)
    As you see the single quotes are missing. Like I said in previous posting I tried with following Escape Symbol for Aposrophe.
    Let me know if you need more information.
    Thank you,

  • JDBC connection to Oracle 10g RAC periodically times out

    I've been banging my head against the wall for months now and can't figure out why this is and what's causing it.
    We have 6x CF8 servers in our environment. 3 of which work perfectly and the other 3 have the following problem. All 6 machines were installed at the same time and followed the exact same installation plan.
    When I configure Oracle RAC data source, some of the machines time-out connecting to Oracle from time-to-time.
    Config:
    Solaris 9 on both CF and Oracle
    CF8 Enterprise with the latest updater.
    Apache 2 (not that it's relevant)
    6 machines, load-balanced (not clustered), identical install and configuration.
    data source config:
    JDBC URL: jdbc:macromedia:oracle://10.0.0.3:1521;serviceName=dbname.ourdomain.com;AlternateServers= (10.0.0.4:1521);LoadBalancing=true
    DRIVER CLASS: macromedia.jdbc.MacromediaDriver
    The problem:
    Every few minutes, CF starts hanging requests that deal with a specific RAC only data source. After about 30 seconds, all requests bail and generate this error in cfserver.log:
    A non-SQL error occurred while requesting a connection from dbsource.
    Timed out trying to establish connection
    This happens with any RAC data source on the "bad" servers while the "good" servers don't have this problem. The "bad" server doesn't have any problems with direct (non-rac) Oracle data source.
    Already tried:
    Moving server connections around on a switch (rulling out bad switch port)
    Copying driver from the healthy server (but it's the same installer anyway)
    Changed from RAC to normal Oracle type data source - works perfectly. So at the moment I have 3 servers connecting to a specific oracle instance and the other 3 connecting to RAC.
    Tried googling and searching forums and even Oracle metalink - nothing I could see relevant to this.
    It's a shame that after spending a ton of money on CF8 upgrades and Oracle RAC, we can't really utilize fail-over on the database connection.
    Any takers?
    Thanks,
    Henry

  • JDBC adapter taking too much time for inserting

    we` have given a "update insert" query to be used in the JDBC adapter to insert these records into the database. Consists of 3 tables with 29fields in first, 4 fields in the other two.
    While message in XI gets processed in just 1-3 secs, the database processing time goes up to as much as 8 minutes for one record to get inserted.
    As immediate solution, is there any way we can have the JDBC adapter process these messages faster? These messages get queued up and hence all the other messages also get queued up delaying the other interfaces. We have a central adapter engine...
    Also is there any way we can get alert when the status is in "Processing/To be delivered/Delivering" and the message count exceeds a certain number say 1000

    I am using only one receiver JDBC channel
    We have been inserting three different table by using 3 different statemets tags(i.e) statement1(for table1),statement2(for table2),statement3(for table3).
    My structure is,
    <messagetype Name>
        <Statement1>
                 <tag1>
                          <action>UPDATE_INSERT</action>
                          <table>Table1</table>
                           <access>
                                        <field1>
                                         <field2>
                                          <field28>
                            <key>
                                   <MatNumber>
                 </tag1>
        </statement1>
       <Statement2>
                 <tag1>
                          <action>UPDATE_INSERT</action>
                          <table>Table2</table>
                           <access>
                                        <field1>
                                         <field2>
                                          <field4>
                            <key>
                                   <MatNumber>
                 </tag1>
        </statement2>
        <Statement3>
                 <tag3>
                         <action>UPDATE_INSERT</action>
                          <table>Table3</table>
                           <access>
                                        <field1>
                                         <field2>
                                          <field4>
                            <key>
                                   <MatNumber>
                 </tag3>
        </statement3>
    You can see we are also using key as well.In the first table we have 28 fields,second & third we are having 4.

  • Time Limit Exceeded. JDBC Adapter

    Hello guys,
    we have problem in an interface in production.
    The interface is asynchronous and is File -> PI -> JDBC
    Some messages have sometimes an error in PI monitorization, and we can see the next error:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    - <!--  Receiver Grouping
      -->
    - <SAP:Error SOAP:mustUnderstand="1" xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
      <SAP:Category>XIServer</SAP:Category>
      <SAP:Code area="INTERNAL">SYSTEM_DUMP</SAP:Code>
      <SAP:P1 />
      <SAP:P2 />
      <SAP:P3 />
      <SAP:P4 />
      <SAP:AdditionalText />
      <SAP:Stack>XXXX : XXXX___0000 : Time limit exceeded.</SAP:Stack>
      <SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
      </SAP:Error>
    It seems there is an error when sending to the JDBC adapter? The concurrency of the adpter is set to 1 and we send 7 messages to the same adapter and the messages are executed more or less at the same time.
    Could we have to do some PI configuration about queues? or maybe is about the concurrency of the adapter?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Xavier.

    You might need to increase MAXIMUM CONCURRENCY > 1 and set poolWaitingTime > 0 as per SAP Note 831162. By doing this will alow JDBC Receiver to process concurrency the request from Integration Engine.
    or you also can try to increase "Recv.maxConsumers" for JDBC Adapter. The current value is 5
    In addition above, since more messages are concurrently happening more or less at the same time, I would recommend also to use this parameter setting.... Go to advanced tab in the jdbc receiver channel.
    check the option "Disconnect from Database After Processing Each message".  This would help if the connection is not immediately return to the other thread after serving the first thread.  Plus it is a best practice to follow up.

  • Only 5 messages at a time being delivered thru JDBC adapter

    We have an XI interface that is delivering updates to a SQL Server database through the JDBC adapter.  Our problem is only 5 will deliver at a time, and we have thousands to deliver so it takes forever.  The messages queue up in 'To Be Delivered' status and eventually get through. Is there a parameter to set which controls how many messages can be delivered through a JDBC adapter at one time ?
    Thanks in advance.

    How do you deliver these updates? I mean, with a single message or one update per message?
    I think that you should try to put all the update in a single JDBC message in order to have them delivered at the same time.

  • Portal time out with large jdbc query in JSP bean

    Hi,

    Is there some particular settings I can modify to prevent the content fetcher from timing out? Cheers

    Thanks. The charts portlet now can be delayed up to the required ~10mins before returning data from the large query. This works in conjunction with changes in the directives/parameters for Jserv and httpd(Note:180548.1)
    Shankar,
    Normally, you can increase the time out in the portlet tag of the provider.xml file. The timeout is in seconds, you should also increase the provider timeout. This is done in the provider registration screen.
    <timeout>60</timeout>
    <timeoutMessage>My Portlet Timed Out</timeoutMessage>
    Please note that if you set the timeout too high and your portlet is really not coming up, you page will wait the 60, 90, 120, etc seconds for the portlet to timeout, so be careful will portlet and provider timeouts.
