MaxDB 7.6.00.18 Couldn't be Started on Windows 2003
Hi,
Because of problem "SAP DBTech JDBC: Cannot connect to jdbc:sapdb://LOCALHOST/PRT [Task limit]." i decided to increase the value of MAXUSERTASKS to 1000 which has default value 50. After setting parameter via Database Manager GUI, I restarted the DB. But the DB did not come up.
Although I've setted the parameter back to 50 result is same.

any idea?
Hi,
my colleague, Henrik, is correct, in these older MaxDB 7.6 versions an increase of the parameter MAXUSERTASKS will automatically increase other parameters too, but a decrease will not automatically decrease those same dependent parameters.
I'd also suggest you to change back the setting of parameter MAXSERVERTASKS to its original value.
Just fyi: with your current
TASK_STACK size (1024), every UserTask will use around 1MB of stack. If you increase your amount of usertasks from 50 to 1000, you increase the memory used by stack from around 50mb to a 1gb!

Roland

My ipod won't sync any thing in my iTunes library it always stop as soon as it starts backingup the Ipod a message appears that says iTunes cannot backup the Ipod "my Ipod" because a session couldn't be started withthe Ipod how do i fix this problem?
This is exactly what the message says: iTunes could not back up the iPod "austins ipod" because a session could not be started with the iPod.Try connecting your ipod to another computer and sync only 1 file or song just for isolation purpose only to see if it'll sync.
If still not syncing, then porbably you may have a bad iOS installed in iPod which is hard to see if it has a problem because you said nothing's wrong with iPod. I just saying is, it MIGHT have a bad iOS.
If you are unable to do a restore, put your ipod in DFU mode, then connect to iTunes and iTunes will detect your ipod in restore mode. Press shift key (PC keyboard) then click the restore button on iTunes. I hope you have your copy of IPSW file for restoration purposes. -

The OSX upgrade couldn't be started because the disk is damaged and can't be repaired.
I'm getting the above error message after trying many different "fixes" described on message boards. Here's the issue: I have a Macbook Pro that developed a problem with an endless boot cycle. The solution ended up being to wipe the drive using Disk Utility. I then reinstalled OSX from a Snow Leopard disk, and the computer appeared to be working normally. Then, when I attempted to upgrade to Mavericks from the App Store, I get this message when the computer tries to reboot and install the OS. I have tried verifying and repairing the disk, resetting NVRAM/PRAM, resetting the SMC...but always I get the following error message:
Install Failed
OSX could not be installed on your computer
The OSX upgrade couldn't be started because the dis Macintosh HD is damaged and can't be repaired
Curious if anyone has experienced this problem or has a possible fix. Thanks for your helpI did not verify/repair from Snow Leopard...simply reinstalled then attempted to download/install Mavericks from the App Store. Having seen this suggestion, I've now rebooted into recovery mode, and when I try to verify/repair, it aborts both processes and I get the respective errors: "The volume couldnot be verified completely" and "Error: Disk Utility can't repair this disk. Back up as many of your files as possible, reformat the disk, and restore your backed-up files."

Error in Netweaver installation with MaxDB on a 64-bit IA windows 2003
Hello all,
I am installing Netweaver CE 7.1 in Windows 2003. Out of the 35 phases , i am getting an error in the 13th phase. The name of the Phase is " Create Database Instance" . An error log is created and the details are as below :
Subprocess starts at 20091014155346
Execute Command : C:\Program Files\sdb\programs\pgm\dbmcli.exe -n SGPSRV011 -d SMD -u CONTROL,******** db_start
Execute Session Command : exit
Subprocess stops at 20091014155349
Subprocess call failedERR
-24994,ERR_RTE: Runtime environment error

This is the text of the error being displayed :
An error occurred while processing service SAP NetWeaver CE Productive Edition > Installation Options > Standard System > Standard System. You may now
choose Retry to repeat the current step.
choose View Log to get more information about the error.
stop the task and continue with it later.
Log files are written to C:\Program Files/sapinst_instdir/CE71_PROD_ADA/INSTALL/ADA/STD/AS.
I feel that this error has something to do with the settings in the MaxDB database. Can you please help which setting needs to be changed ? Both the Netweaver and the MaxDB are on the same 64-bit Itanium server and the OS is Windows 2003.
Thanks and Regards
VijayCheck your max db database build, [https://service.sap.com/pam] and apply a patch if available. Also, you may want to log a problem on SMP.

"Purchase couldn't be completed" on Windows RT 8.1 tablet. Error 0x80240017
I'm trying to get Revel installed on a Nokia Lumia 2520 (Windows RT 8.1 tablet), and it keeps throwing the error message "Your purchase couldn't be completed: Something happened and your purchase can't be completed. Error code 0x80240017."
The tablet is fully updated as of 11/28. I checked UAC and that's turned on, as well as automatic updates, and I even wiped the device out and reloaded everything. No dice.
Also checked, and KB2887595 is installed, so it's not that...
Any ideas?Revel is supported on windows 8 tablets and compuers, but is not currently supported on Windows RT.

Hi,
It looks like iCloud has a problem with Outlook 2010 - when syncing calendars. I repeatedly get the rather vague error message above when I launch the set-up, then the iCloud control panel hangs. If I wait long enough I get "The operation could not be completed".
Anyone else getting this? Seems to work find for contacts, BTW.
CodfishpieHi,
This was happening to me with Outlook 2007 and the iCloud Control Panel (CP). I spent days trying to get it sorted out and as usual once it worked I wasn't completely sure what exactly fixed it.
This is what I did:
1. Ensured Outlook 2007 was completely up to date with Windows Update.
2. Unchecked everything in iCloud CP.
3. Logged out of iCloud CP and when asked I removed all contacts, calendars on my PC.
4. Uninstalled iCloud CP.
5. Redownloaded and reinstalled iCloud CP.
6. Logged into iCloud via iCloud CP.
7. Checked Mail, Contacts and Calendars.
8. Didn't get the error message and now I can see all my contacts and calendar stuff from iCloud in Outlook 2007.

hi,
I could not log on my Windows 8.1 because it was telling me the password is not correct while the passwoord was correct.
so I serached IN Google and found how to work some security files like Ultiman en CMD to clear the password and log again.
but It didn't work because I think I had Microsoft account . I had used this techniek before whit a normal user account and it had worked .
now as a computer man I like to know why changing some keys in config didn't help to clear the password with windows account on windows 8.1.
2- second I want to know if there is other ways to solve such a problem because my work is to solve computer problems!

h.davidHello h.david,
It is not recommended to use the command to clear or break the password.
Breaking password will create safety risks on Windows security.
It is recommended to follow the step provided by T. Kujala.

I encountered this on and off, sometime the dbconsole can be started successfully, but sometime the above error will shown in the trc file.
When this problem occur, I always check on the port 1158 and the agent port 3938 to confirm that no process is occupying the port, but unfortunately it's still not working.
I loged a SR in metalink and the engineer also suggested the same thing to check...and the last resort, to reboot the server.
Normally reboot the server can solve the problem ..but I don't think it's a best way to solve the problem.
My Oracle 10 R2 10.2.0.4 install in Windows 2003 server SP2.
Anyone have the same experience to share?
Thanks

ORADC problem on Windows 2000 with Service pack 1 and service pack 2
Hi,
I have a VB application running on NT4.0 workstations. It uses
ORADC control to talk to ORACLE 7.3 When I load it on Windows
2000 with service pack 1 or service pack 2, I encounter some
problems.
The ORADC control is used in most of the VB forms and the
Refresh method of the ORADC conrol is used to refresh the APEX
TRUE DBGRID PRO control. When this action is executed, I receive
a run time error
"Method Refresh of object '_DORADC' failed Err#: -2147417848
It works fine when no service pack is applied on Win2K.
Can anyone tell me what's going on?
