I want to say that all issues cannot be solved by troubleshooting.
There are times when the hardware of the device damage been damage or  and then is time to replace the unit. With that being said the majority of the problems that users face are fixable with troubleshooting and with steps that we can help with, is important that as a user you understand, most of the People that offer assistance here, are your peers users, most of them have 4 key common denominators
Experience,
Knowledge,
Desire to help,
Understanding on your necessity.
Believe me they do know, if you take the time to formulate your question is because you need help with your device and issue. In the same token they need help to understand the issue and more importantly what is causing it. For that we need some basic Information please take the time to read this suggestion on how to formulate your question in a way that will allow us to help you more promptly. I assure that will not hurt your chances but it will increase them exponentially.
Bear in mind these Great Folks are for the most part users like you, in less quantity professionals that devote their valuable free time to help you folks and in other instances are folks that work for or with HP that devote time to help all of those that are having issues.
These are some recommendations that will assist you getting quick and accurate assistance.
Do not do this;
Don’t include any personal information, such as phone number, email address, complete name and last name.  As this is not relevant to the issue you are having nor it will help nobody help you.
Do not include Printer, computers or any other device serial numbers. Because this information is completely irrelevant to the issue at hand.
Don’t feel that any statement is Dumb or irrelevant. The person in the other side on the communication is not psychic and the information that you are omitting can be the information that tells what the actual issue is.  This is simply impossible to know so include as much information as possible.
Do not rush to formulate your question.  This obviously is your prerogative to use it.  I feel obligated to disclose I do not feel incline to help people that are using offensive language or threads nobody might help you so unless what you want isto use this resource as venting mechanism.   Do not DO IT as is not productive and will limit the amount of help you get.

Use a compact and concise format in the opening of the message to include all relevant information.
Always include the Operating system of the computer you are using or if the issue is on a device such as phone, tablet, or any other mobile devices include this information as well.

All this information is important in most cases. Although issue may be with the printer only or least that is what logic tells you. The steps that you might have to take to fix it, are Operating system dependent or exclusive.  To do something in Windows it may be different that in Mac OS or Linux even between versions of this operation systems. I will suggest let us decide if is not.
Also very valuable information is to include if the Operating system is update the easiest way to tell this is if the operating system is automatically updating.  Include this information at all times.

Too many to list to let’s think about adding a new device to the network as an good example to explain the importance of this.
Most of the time this will be a flawless procedure and will not cause issues.
But for example let’s say you included iPhone to the current home network. You had to include or install bonjour to your computer to able to communicate with the phone and all hell breaks loose now nothing works.  It might be the fact that your router does not support the service (also known as mDNS) but let make a worst example it does support it but in a recent firmware update of the router and also Windows have issued several updates to improve support Again just an example. The person that is trying to assist you assume that all this is done but is not that might prohibited the person to help you with what it should be an easy fix.

this is where you include all the information that you feel is relevant do not leave anything this way we limit the possibility of lack of understanding from the person trying to help.

 This is optional I will use this to include other devices information that working or not working in the network or it I try in another computer or network.
This is a problem that a user had and I wish that would it explain like this it would save him and me 3 days of questions and back and forward to get to a fairly easy solution.

 The printer for past week have how in the control panel  an error message offline printer and the jobs are getting stuck in the print queue.
TS (Troubleshooting) steps taken by me.
Restart the printer disconnect the printer from the network.  Did not fix.
Other comments:
My wife computer are not having the same issue. Is printing fine.
This took 5 minutes to write this  and will help anybody that is reading understand the issue I am having and give me suggestions on how to fix it without having to comeback to and ask questions.
I truly hope that you subscribe to this or any similar formats as it will really help all parties involve to get a better and positive result in most cases.

    No. Just the student rate on a permanent or subscription license. Some places do include Photoshop and other products as part of the tuition, but it is a separate arrangement and most likely temporary.

    FormsCentral won't help with flattening a form. You could set up the form in Acrobat so that the fields are set to read-only, using JavaScript. Not quite the same as flattening but it's the best Reader can do.
    Note that when Reader is used to e-sign a document, it gets flattened, but this won't be possible if you need to Reader-enable the form and under certain other conditions.

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.

    Your best answer is to create a smart playlist. If you use ratings to flag the songs you like when you play them (the only way the iPod can know -- it can't read your mind), then you can create a smart playlist that includes songs either with ratings above a particular rating, or a playcount below a particular number.
    I have over 31,000 songs on my iPod. I have a play list of top rated, as well as last listened to over 21 months ago, unplayed, less than 6 plays, and less than 10 plays.

    Incase you have not noticed Flash is not the only Adobe product.
    They have been making css, javascript, html editors for years.
    Adobe does not see HTML5 as a threat any more than they saw HTML4 as a threat when they created Dreamweaver and other HTML4 editors and tools.
    Do you expect Adobe to just stop making editors for all other languages all of a sudden?
    Trust me when I say Apple customers are far more worried about the future of Flash and HTML5 than Adobe is.
    When Adobe released Dreamweaver cs5 it was not the death of Flash, nor some sign of dropping flash. Adobe makes great tools for every language and avenue you want to explore.

    I can log into hotmail but cannot open my emails or go to Sent items or anything. I have gone on the Hotmail Help Forum and MANY people are having the same problem. Hotmail say we should use Internet explorer and they do not really answer about using Firefox.
    People using Firefox 3 and 4 are having problems.
    Also, i downloaded Forefox 4.0.1 and it was not fully compatible with Kaspersky - has this problem also now been resolved?

    Sorry, I can't help with Hotmail, beyond clearing the cache - I haven't used it for 11 or 12 years now. Surprising that a Firefox 3.6 version would have trouble there, as 3.6 has been around for well over a year and Hotmail problems are usually with a recent release of Firefox.
    IMO, if Hotmail support can't help you with Firefox issues on their website and can only recommend using IE, maybe it's time to change web mail service providers. My advice is to signup with a different web mail service, one that takes Firefox seriously. Then set up forwarding in your Hotmail account to have all your Hotmail emails forwarded to that new account. Then slowly transition your email contacts over to the new email address over time. As long as you log in to Hotmail every month or two, your account there should stay active and emails sent there should get forwarded to the new email account. I have done that three times in the last decade, and the first one I transitioned from was still forwarding email thru the two intermediary accounts to my current account until last summer when that service finally changed owners and they wanted all new accounts set up or transitioned to their new software - which I didn't do - and I hadn't even signed into my account there in over 4 years and "forwarding" was still working.

  • In Mavericks, every time I try to create a new folder on the drive I  get a prompt for my password. I checked Get Info on the main drive and under Sharing

    I got a new 27" iMac with 10.8.5 and migrated a 10.6.8 system and files.  It was working fine. After about 2 weeks I was looking at the Sharing & Permissions and saw an account "wheel".  I mistakenly (I NOW know it was a mistake) changed the permission to no access and subsiquenty could not boot the computer. I had an older iMac so I built a boot disk with the Mavericks installer on it. Booted the computer and restored from a Time Machine backup previous to the change of permissions of the "wheel" account. I went ahead and did a clean install of Mavericks
    The computer is now running with Mavericks installed and I am rebuilding.  When I go to create a new folder on the system drive I get prompted for a pasword.
    When I checked the permissions and sharing on the main drive it tells me "you can only read".
    I am logged in with an admin account. I have run Disk Utiltiy and Tech Tool Pro's  permission verify and repair. Given what happend last time I changed permissions I am reluctant to make any changes.
    Anyone have an idea as to what I should do.

    The decison for you "Verizon" to eliminate your unlimited data package feature was a low, low, low blow and in my opinion and appears to be the same of many people the worst customer service move you have made. I have been a very loyal customer since coming on and was happy with the service when my fiance at the time now my wife convinced me to join her with Verizon. Service, Plans, Phones, Tech Help were all top notch.
    However now with our wanting to upgrade our phones we have been slapped in the face with higher bills each and every month..... why is this? Well it is easy to pin point that answer it is due to the fact you eliminated the unlimited data packages we once had!!!!!! How the "H" "E" "Double Hockey Sticks" would you think this was the way to go? You basically don't understand "Customer Service 101" and why you should be grandfathering those on this plan into this plan!!! And not forcing them off the plan you pulled when we decide to continue our business with you and want to get new and better phones!
    I am in the process of actually picking up the phone and calling to know what it would cost me to severe my service with you and going to any of the other 3 cell services out there to just get the package again that they all offer. I currently have only 2 cellular phones in service with you at this time, but I will one day when my 4 and 18month old our old enough have 2 additional phones in service and well I can not imagine what our phone bills will be with DATA use when my current children our teenagers!!! I personally feel this was a poor choice on your end and one that I know is felt as a poor choice by your customers from the forums, chats, blogs, Internet and even your own discussion threads. Why don't you wake up and smell the coffee and know that you should be loyal to your current customers! Yes if you feel the plan should no longer be continued then don't offer it to your new customers out there. Just for crying out loud don't force your current customers to go with a plan that is not as good as their current plan when they want a new phone just so you can save a buck!!!

    Hi, Well I don't know about the wallpaper:-), but I'm sure that there isn't any computer that wont' support Flash Player!
    When you first set up your new computer, you set up the Administrator Account first. You will use that Account for Installing Flash Player. It is the one that gives you Permission to do so.
    Next, I need to know if you have Installed any version of Flash Player on your computer?
    Do you use any browser other than IE8?
    What Anit-Virus program do you have Installed?
    Use your IE browser and test at this site and let me know if you can see any animation of the Flash logo and what version of Flash Player does it say is Installed.
