Maximum Connections required per Application instance?

Hi,
I have an application consisting of 20 BAPIs in its model DC. There is only 1 single JCO connection, implies onyl 1 backend. How do I determine the maximum connections per instance in this case.
Or is it something like this value is mostly 1?
Regards
MK

MK,
all your BAPIs can share the single JCo-Connection. How many instances of this Connection are created during runtime is editable in the WebDynpro-Content Administrator (http://<host>:<port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcwdtools/Explorer)
there you can change "JCo Pool Configuration" of your JCOs (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/3a/3b1b40fcdd8f5ce10000000a155106/frameset.htm)

  • Application instances and events

If I'm streaming three related events such as football1, football2, football3 is it best practice to create a unique application instance for each football event?
Or should all 3 events just be grouped under a single application instance?
    Example: C:\FMS\applications\football1\_definst_\football1, C:\FMS\applications\football2\_definst_\football2, etc...
I was asking because the FMS Admin Console breaks down the connection information by application instance and then I could just pull it up and see how many users connected and total connects to each event without making a bunch of admin api calls.
    Does this make sense?

Should we require the users to install Java(FX) AND THEN WebFX AND THEN type the URL of our appp AND THEN it will deliver the app to them ? why ? WHY ?
    Hi,
I'm Bruno, the creator of the WebFX project.
About the questions above, I would say first that this is just a concept, but instead of thinking about the "browser", it could actually be used by real projects today that want to provide a JavaFX experience, without having to push big JARs for clients that might be in a very distant location with really poor connectivity. Also, it would make it even easier for the developer to update the application "on the fly", and his users would have access to the new version instantaneously.
Consider wrapping the "WebFX" concept in your "base" desktop application, and instead of using WebView to load parts of your app using HTML+JS, why not using a FXView (based on the WebFX concept) to render remote code?
Again, it's a concept, but I'm sure it can be really useful :-)
Hope I could clear all the questions!
    Thanks,

I would like to be able to size images by kilobytes instead of pixels--is this possible?  I use I-Contact which requires a maximum of 70kb per image.  For best quality I want to make the images as close to 70 as possible.  Currently I choose a size of 300 pixels on the shortest side but sometimes this gives me an image of slightly greater than 70kb and sometimes the image is just 30-40kb.  Is there a way to be more precise in reaching but not exceeding 70 kb?

When trying to use my banking apps I get the error "Network Required  This application requires an active Internet Connection.  Please try again".  This happens with two different apps from two different banks.  One of them works occasionally and have not figured out why.  I have cell signal and I am on a strong WiFi network.  Same thing happens when I turn off the WiFi too.    I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the app with no improvement.   I can't seem to find any setting that would cause this.   Does anyone have any suggestions?

I can access the internet just fine in the browser and i can use any other app i have.

  • Deploy one Application per OC4J instance or multiple

    Hello,
I have the following questions on deploying applications on OC4J:
    1. What is the best practice for deploying applications on OC4J?
    2. Should I deploy only One application per OC4J Instance or multiple applications per OC4J Instance.
    3. If I decide to deploy more then one application on one OC4J Instance, for this OC4J Instance, should I increase default_island property to add the number of processes within an OC4J Instance
    Thanks,
    Manish

You really should read the 9iAS Performance and Tuning Guide. There is no specific recommendation. It is
highly dependent on your specific applications.
You can deploy more than one application per OC4J instance and if you have a high performance machine you will probably want to run more than one JVM per OC4J
instance. If you are running applications which create sessions and replicate state across JVM's then
you may want to create multiple islands to limit the scope of replication.

  • Maximum number of applications per application set

    Hello,
I know maximum number of dimensions per application is 20 in OutlookSoft 4.2.
What about maximum number of applications per application set?
    Regards,
    Hiroshi Yaji

Hiroshi - I have not encountered a technical limit on the number of applications in an appset.  As a practical reality, performance and system administration will dictate how many apps an appset may contain.
On a related note, you could theoretically have more than 20 dimensions in an app.  However, I have only worked with one client who asked (needed?) an app with more than 12 dimensions.  In that case, usability was an issue due to the complexity in submitting data to an app with that many dimensions.
    Hope that helps,
    Jeff

  • How to connect application instance to new DB2 database instance

    Hi,
Recently we want to transfer the DB2 database instance from old host( db 9.1.7 under windows 2003 r2) to new host( db2 9.7.9 under windows 2008 r2).
    Currently system is:
    * ECC 6.0 under NW 7.0 SR3
    * DB2 9.1.7 running on windows 2003 r2 64bit.
    * Kernel : 7.20
*application instance connecting db instance via DB2 CLI
Refer to below steps when doing the migration:
    1) backup the db2 9.1 database using offline methods in source system
    2) Using the system copy db depending method to restore the db in target system.
3)Running the db6_update_db script on target system for post-upgrade activity.
    4) Running the db6_update_client script on source system to update the cli version.
    5) Update the parameter SAPDBHOST to new host in default profile in source host(application).
When i try to restarting the sap system services , it still connected to old host.
May i know any other setting i need to do and then this application server can connect to new db instance.
    thanks.

  • Connection leaks and application is running out of connection

    Hi All,
We have configured the SQL Database external resource for OBPM specific connection pool. All the business processes are using the Fuego.Sql package for the data base transaction calls. I have no clue how this package is managing the database connections. If more than 25 users perform concurrent testing, the application is running out of connections. Connection pool configuration details as below.
    Maximum Pool Size : 500
Maximum connections per user : 50
    Minimun Pool Size : 0
Connection Idle Time (mins). : 5
    Maximum Opened Cursors : 1000
Please share your thoughts on how I can track and fix this issue. Also please let me know the answers below.
    1. Is there any way to find out the stats about the connection pool
    2. If I configure the remote JDBC that points to J2EE datasource, would that fix this issue.
    I appreciate your help.
    Thanks,

Can anyone please share your ideas?

  • Maximum connections allowed for AMS 5.0.1

How can I find out the maximum connection allowed for adobe media server 5.0.1 standard license?

...that would depend on your application.
For a one-way video-on-demand system that streams recorded video at the user's request. Adobe Media Server serves only one stream to each user.
Here are the bandwidth calculations you would make:
    Calculating server bandwidth needs (BWs):
    BWs = N × S
where N = number of simultaneous users (subscribers)
and S = average bitrate of encoded A/V content
For example to calculate the overall server bandwidth needed to stream video encoded at 500 Kbps to 1000 simultaneous users:
    500 Mbps = 1000 × 500 Kbps
The above assumes that content is encoded at a constant bitrate. Most often, however, you will vary the bitrate of the content to suit the viewing audience. This affects your bandwidth needs at both the client and server level.
For example, suppose you estimated that half of the 1000 simultaneous users were going to connect via 350 Kbps DSL modem and the other half via 3 Mbps cable modem. Suppose further that while the video encoded at 500 Kbps was appropriate for the cable viewers, you wanted to encode a separate video at 150 Kbps for the DSL modem users.
In this case, the total bandwidth required of the system is lowered to 325 Mbps:
    325 Mbps = (500 Kbps × 500) + (150 Kbps × 500)

  • Connect to a specific instance

    Hi all,
How to connect to a specific instance in RAC, with out using services and load balancing.
our requirement is such that, the load balancing is of and my application has to connect to a specific instance at runtime.. where i can specify the SID of the instance or Instance number at runtime.
Is this possible in RAC, if Yes, how should the connect string should look in the tnsnames.ora

You can also specify services (using dbca it is very easy)
When you configure your service define it as prefered on instance1 (if you need HA, you can make it available on instance2)
Then copy the section from the tnsnames.ora file for the service that you just defined.(dbca automatically updates tnsnames, and crs with the new service definition)
Just remember that services do not restart automatically after a clean shutdown of the environment. (If it was a crash, they will resume their last state) You will need to script a service restart if you want it to be automatic.

  • Datasource Connection Pooling - Per environment or per J2EE node?

    Hi all,
I have a question about the JDBC service regarding the connection pooling.
For external datasources, we have specified a max. pool size of 25.
Now, is this value per J2EE server node per Dialog Instance, or is this a global setting?
In other words, say we have 5 dialog instances each with 4 server nodes, do we have pools with a total size of 200 maximum connections, or just 25?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Populating the request attributes in Application Instance forms of OIM11gR2

    Hi,
We have configured request based provisioning for the 3 target applications. As a process
    1) Manager is log in to OIM Identity console and selects the one user and provision the application Instance after selecting the required roles in the Application instance forms of Catologue page.
2)With in the same login session, if manager selects another user and tried to provision the same application instance, details of first user is displaying in the application Instance forms.
Actually differrent data need to populate in the application instance forms for each user.

    Hi,
Whats  your exact version of OIM and BP? It can be issue with particular version.
Also, it looks like your request form pre-pop may not be working properly. Can you put some sysout and try to check in your logs about what value is getting printed when you are selecting another user?
We have used this scenario in OIM 11.1.2.0 + BP7 and it was working.
