Does the iPod connect to other networks OK?
Do other devices now connect and work OK?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

When trying to connect to internet, my i6 phone says "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding." However, our house's wi-fi is on. Any ideas why this is happening?
Settings → scroll down to Safari → in Safari settings, I selected both Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.
IF that does not work -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Finally - if problem still present -
Go to Settings>General>Reset
Reset the network settings - you will need to add the password of your home WiFi in your phone once more
The device should turn itself off & back on then go into Settings>Wifi and join your network -
My iPad2 will not connect to the internet, "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding". I've run the AirPort utility and it shows that I'm connected to my Wi-Fi. The connection works with both my iMac and iPhone. I'm concerned that the problem is with hardware rather than software.
Try the following:
1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again
2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
3. Reset iPad; hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo -

This is happening to only certain websites. Unfortunately, the work ones that I need to access. I appreciate any help.
Error message:
Cannot open page
Safari cannot open the page because the network connection was lost
I reset the wifi and the password, I also rebooted several times.Do you have any other browsers on your iPad? If you don't have one, why don't you try downloading one of these free browsers - they will all be "lite" versions (not full featured) - but if you can access these websites with one of those - then I assume that we can point to Safari as being the culprit. That will not solve the Safari problem, but it will give us another point from which to work.

I have Mercury, iCab Mobile, Opera, Dolphin and Atomic. iCab Mobile - the paid version is great.
BTW ... have you tried to access these sites from another WiFi connection - like a library, a friend's house - any other WiFi network? -
Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding, why? WiFi is connected.
It could very well be the the server holding the web page you are trying to access has stopped responding. Just because you are connected to your Wi-Fi network does not mean that every possible web page will be available.

Hotspot login cannot open the page because the network connection was lost. Why?
Everyttime I try to connect to the wifi, all I get is about a second of the phone saying it is connected, before I get a login page, with the web adress of "captive.apple.com".
The login page is black, and after about a second I get the message,
"Error Opening Page: Hotspot login cannot open the page because the network connection was lost"
I've tried restarting the phone, resetting the network data, everytihng I can think of but no luck.
How can I fix this?Good day everybody. I had the same issue and I got crazy but keep up work on it about 1 week to have the resolution.
Here is the simple steps to overcome this problem:
1. Choose your Wifi and get connected
2. On Wifi page at the bottom Turn On 'Ask to Join Networks'
3. Connect to your Wifi,
4. After connecting, you will see a blue next to your selected Wifi
5. Press the blue and get into the connection detail of your wifi
6. Turn on Auto-Join
7. Turn Off Auto-Login
8. Close settings
9. Go to Safari log with Hotel, Business wifi page
Trick is the Auto-Login must be turned off -
When I try and use a click and collect service via a popular electrical retailers website in the UK I get " safari cannot open the page because the network connection was lost"
I have a superb WIFI connection and have tried it via 3G.
I am not getting this on other websites, however have recently updated Safari.
Any ideas?Install Chrome and see if the problem lies with Safari...that's where it was with my mini.

Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding. What do I do?
Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding.
Sometimes its working but mostly not. My iMac, MacBook and iPhone, which are comnnected to the same wi-fi network, have no connection problems whatsoever.
I have:
turned off and on the wifi
turned off and on the device
turned off and on forget this network
reset the network setting
reset all settings
Nothing works.Nothing works except if I use a different wi-fi so it appears that this is not a problem related to my iPad but to my wi-fi.
Any suggestions? -
Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found, what is? keeps coming up on my IPAD!
It may be the on-line newspaper server went off-line because of power failure or other problems.
If other sites are working no problem --- if your internet carrier is off-line (happen to me during hurricane Sandy - I had power, my internet company didn't so no internet until it did>)
