MC.1 report date format to be changed.

Hi,
In MC.1 report the default formate of the date is MM.YYYY is this format cn be chaned to DD.MM.YYYY based on the posting date.
I want to see the MC.1 report based on the posting dates.
Kindly help me.

Hi,
MC.1 report is standard TCode used for the monthly report.
For posting datechange, need to discuss with the developer for adding field date.
Check for other tcodes available depending on posting date.

In the advanced tab of languages and Region the time and date formats will not change

For a certian Application I am using I need to change the format of the Time and Date. I had no problems in Mountain Lion. In the advanced tab of languages and Region the time and date formats will not change. I need the date format to read as 01/01/14 and time format to read 13:00. As I said this was easily done in Mountain Lion and all previous Apple OS. I suspect it's an issue with in the OS.

You're right, it has been that way for a long time. I've never bothered reporting it as a bug since it's simple enough to deal with, but reporting it would be a reasonable thing to do.

The langauage is set according to this priority:
1) Language assigned to the user (in the portal)
2) Browser's Language
3) System's language
4) JVM's Language

ABAP report date format

Hello friends,
In my report I have to display the details of the selection screen.
I am having some problem with the date format
HOwever when the user changes the settings in the user profile the data
format on the report should display as what the user profile settings are.
for EG -
if the user has the settings as YYYY-MM-DD
the output should be 2007-12-11.
If the user changes the date format as MM/DD/YYYY
the output should be 12/11/2007.
Any suggestions.

The data maintained in the cube is 01/08/2008.

Hi,
Is the requirement to change the date format for one date (text item) or to change it in the table item.
1. Text Item
Use a div tag for the text item and give it an id which can be used in the javascript function.
On body load call a javascript function and change the format of the innertext of the div tag as if 1 then Jan, 2 then Feb etc..
2. If used in Table item.
Then you can the entire contents of the date by using the Table interface class by adding the approproate code in the Characteristics Cell/Attribute Cell method.

XML Publisher to Excel Report : Date format problem

Hi,
I am trying to create an Excel report with XML Publisher. I have an issue with the Date Fomatting.
In the XML template, I have set the "Date" column in date format. But the excel output report "Date" column returns as "General text" (string) and it is sorted as text, not as date.
Can anyone please help me out?

Did this post solve your problem? I have the same issue that I need to solve.
I have an xsl-fo template with dates in it.
The dates are in english.
My excel is setup to use danish.
When I export to excel it knows the month jan, feb, mar, apr, ... which are the same in danish and english.
But months where it differs like may (danish maj) the cell is a general text instead of date.
Is there anyway you can set/transform the date in the xsl-fo template so it does not care about the language in excel?

I was created one RTF format file. In this i have to display date format as (dd-mon-yyyy) in the excel output and also some data in the column have varchar2 and numbers. When i generate the output in html, pdf format using the xml file its coming fine.
When i generate the output in excel format then date format is changing to dd-mon-yy and who have data in number format is automatically going to rtight alignment.
But client need all the date output in the left alignment (dd-mon-yyyy) ..Please advice me ..

Thanks for giving reply. We are using 11.5.10.2 Application . We are not using any ADI..I just run the xml file in my local system itself in excel format..Date format is coming dd-mon-yy.Not in Apps environment.

Interactive Report - Date Format

Hi,
I created an interaticve report, in which one of the column is date picker data type. However, it's not showing the hour and minutes even though I chose the "DD-MON-YYYY HH:MIPM" format mask.

I tried to replicate this, but could not. Now granted, I tried this using the new "modern" method of controlling the default application date format via the new application Globalization attribute "Application Date Format". I set the Application Date Format to fmMM/DD/fmYY and my IR on EMP worked just fine.
If you can replicate this on apex.oracle.com (using Application Date Format), I'd be happy to take a look at it.

Date format does not change with the Regional and Language Options in 2008

I have a one-column report that was created using the SQL "select current_date" in postgres. (Thinks select getdate() ).
In Crystal Reports XI when I change the "Standards and Formats" of Regional Options to:
English (United States) the date is in the format mm/dd/yy
English (Canada) the date is in the format dd/mm/yy
Japan the date is in the format yyyy/mm/dd
In Crystal Reports 2008 when I change the "Standards and Formats" of Regional Options to:
English (United States) the date is in the format mm/dd/yy
English (Canada) the date is in the format mm/dd/yy
Japan the date is in the format mm/dd/yy
It doesn't change. Is this a bug?

hey Jason,
i am going through some of the old forum posts and saw that no one replied to your language options post.
for cr 2008, there are language packs for the applicable languages. there are advantages for this as you can save installation space with the option of installing language packs for each language that you want the designer application to be in.
you have seen the disadvantage as it doesn't work the same as before.
you do not need the language packs for testing though. in the crystal reports View menu, switch up to the Product Viewing Locale to test objects which are using "system" settings such as dates.
if you do wish to install any language packs so that you can change up the actual language in the designer, go to your install media. in the install files "\package\langs\" directory, you will see a folder for each language that you need. install the desired language(s).
once you have installed a language pack and then restart the cr designer, you will now have the additional language in the View > Product Locale.
so in summary...Product Locale will change the language of the whole designer...language packs are needed for this.
Preferred System Locale can be used to test languages without having to change your windows system settings.

Instead of dragging and dropping ACCOUNTING_DT field follow the given steps
1. Create a new expression
2. Select expression type as charactor
3. type the following expression TO_CHAR(A.ACCOUNTING_DT,'YYYY-MM-DD'), if you are using oracle database
4. Drag and drop this expression in the select list
You will see date in YYY-MM-DD

Report Date formatting

We are using the Add Command feature to use queries to provide data to our reports. The date parameters from the query are then set in Crystal to datatype DATE. When setting up the parameter in the Designer, todayu2019s date appears in the default dialog box. However, if we leave that date, it stays the same when the report is run. In other words, if I build the parameter on Monday and leave Mondayu2019s date in the default box, when I run the report on Wednesday, the default date displayed will still be Mondayu2019s date.
How can I get the date parameter to default to the current date? My user would like leave the parameter alone sometimes (in order to get the current date), and select different date values at other times.

unfortunately there's no way to have this changed automatically.
there is a workaround though...
1) change the default date of the parameter to something like 1888,08,08
2) change your record selection to something like
{yourdatefield} = (if {?your parameter} = date(1888,8,8) then currentdate else {?your parameter})
3) now if the end user doesn't enter a new value for the parameter the report will use the current date.

If your location is equivalent to the parsing schema you can use the APEX built-in substitution string *#OWNER#*.
You still need to resort to Peter’s advices where dynamic table names are concerned. Bear in mind that in this case, you won’t be able to use the APEX built-in DML processes, and you’ll need to write your own fetch/insert/update/delete processes, which might be a lot of work. Working in a multi-user environment adds the complexity factor of concurrency control (lost updates).

We have a requirement to display dates in DD/MM/YYYY format in the Create User, Modify User and My Information pages. Please let me know how UI date format could be changed.

However, changing the DefaultDateFormat will impact application wise while your requirement seems to be regarding MY information page of the identity console only. So, I won't recommend changing the Default Date Format...

Column in DATE format

I have a report did Apex, this report has a column which data type is DATE but by default the Apex put it in the format : DD-MM-YYYY HH:MI:SS
But I only want that his column has the format DD/MM/YYYY
I know that is posible convert this field using the function TO_CHAR(date, format) but in the report I want to sort this field considering that this filed is in date data type not in char.
Also I know that I can use the function EXTRACT for concatening the day, month and year and after convert to date in the format 'dd/mm/yyyy'; but I don´t want to write many code.
I don't want to do some like this:
TO_DATE(
EXTRACT( 'DAY' FROM DateFiled )||'/'|| EXTRACT( 'MONTH' FROM DateFiled )||'/'|| EXTRACT( 'YEAR' FROM DateFiled ), 'DD/MM/YYYY' )
Do you know how to convert to this date format (DD/MM/YYYY) preserving the format?

Hi Eric
One of the really cool features of the later versions of APEX is the ability to set a default "Application Date Format".
This is done in the Application xx>Shared Components>Definition then select the "Globalization" tab.
You can select from a list of pre-defined date formats, or enter your own.
My preference is "DD-Mon-YYYY" which is not in the list.
Just leave your date fields as regular DATE type in the select (no formatting in the select).
This Application Date Format is then used as the default for ALL dates for which you don't specifically set (another) date format
This is also selecable in the Display options of a "Date Picker (Use Application Date Format)" LOV - for any date page items that you want to provide a date picker.
This really simplifies the effort in getting a consistent look and feel - and keeping a constant standard throughout the application.
The other benefit is that you can make a change in one place, and ALL the dates (without a specific date format specification) will change format - just like that.
This is just one of the features that makes APEX the most productive - and cool - systems around.

Date format is not working properly for Calender value help

Hi Experts,
We have two problems.
1. We want to change the format of date displayed. We want format of dd-MMM-yy. For that we have created one Simple
Type Dictionary Object with Displaying format dd-MMM-yy. It is working
fine for the non editable UI. But once I apply the dictionary type
object as data type for an input field, probem happens. Once the user
choose a date from calender value help the value in the input field is
coming like 01-011-12 not like 01-Jan-12.
The date format is not changing from the calender. But if we set the
display format of the dictionary object to MM-dd-yy or MM/dd/yy or
dd/MM/yy or dd-MM-yy the format conversion from calender to input field
is happening properly.
The only problem once we put MMM in place of MM for the input field
where user is selecting from a calender value help.
2. We want to restrict users from entering the value manually for date input field. The user
should be able only to enter value by selecting from calender value
help.
Please give suitable solution for these problems
