MDB deployed on a separate WLS/machine from where JMS is running

I'm trying to deploy an MDB on a separate WLS/machine from where
JMS is running. How and where to put the reference to the queue to read messages.
Also please share the versions of ejb-jar.xml and weblogic-ejb-jar.xml files that
are more practical and meaningful than they are in BEA samples.

If the MDB's WLS instance and the JMS WLS instance are in the same
cluster, then you shouldn't need to do anything. (The clustering will
present a unified JNDI tree and that's how it finds it.)
If they're not clustered, you need something like this in your
weblogic-ejb-jar.xml:

<provider-url>t3://jms_server:7001</provider-url>

Typically the Currency rates are stored in the "RATE" application. This application is what the script logic or Business rule will call during the conversion process. The rates are only stored by MONTH and by TYPE in a typical planning application. If you need more granular rate details, then you may need to make you time dimension by weeks or days, or add more "TYPES" that are assigned to ACCOUNTs in th ecorressponding account dimension.
But in a simple planning world, most companies will use a monthly rate, one for an AVG and one for END account types, enter this into the RATE application, and run the Defualt logic on submission of data to compile the FX value. Whne you wish to view the results, make certain that you select the correct REPORTING CURRENCY in the report. Many time users forget that data is "normally" entered to an ENTITY,, the ENTITY defines the currency it assumes data is entered, so the plan is loaded to the "LC" member, and converted to USD; or entered in LC, and converted to RS.
But the RATE application will store all the rates required and you may need to open the INPUT template in that application to load the data at the correct intersections.

Unable to identify from where the listener run

Hi,
In my env we have 2 oracle binaries&4 dbs. one listener is configured for all databases. I have modified the listener (Delete all entries) and start the listener.
Few minutes it is showing that no services added to the listener. After 3 minutes, automatically all database services added and went to ready state. I can't able to identify from where the services added.
Incase if i added any entries in the listener.ora file, that services went to unknown state. Then what could be issues?
OS-solaris
NO CLUSTER/RAC.
oracle 10g.
I am new to this env. so i cant able to find from where the listener file read ,from where the services running as ready?
Note:- if i check lsnrctl status,it shows the perfect listener file what i edit.
Please help me.

Stopping Time Machine from backing up when running FCP

Is there any way of stopping Time Machine from making backups when I have Final Cut Pro running?
Each time TM is about to prepare backup, FCP goes down in performance like an ant in maple syrup.
Quite annoying. And sure, I can live with no backups made during work. (I hit Command-S every minute instead... ;-))

You may have something else going on, that doesn't seem to be a problem at other times.
First, see if the size of the backups makes sense, given the changes you've made. If in doubt, Click here to download the +Time Machine Buddy+ widget. It shows the messages from your logs for one TM backup run at a time, in a small window. That will show the duration of each backup at the top, and the total size in the "Copied" messages.
If that seems large, see #D4 in the Time Machine - Troubleshooting *User Tip* at the top of this forum.
If the size seems reasonable, but the amount of time is not, see #D2 in the same place; any or all of the suggestions there may speed them up.

I downloadae firefox version 6.0.2 but after the download was complete i can't see it in my downloads list . so from where can i run the downloads so that my firefox can be updated?

But to update Firefox all you have to do is open Help/About Firefox.

From which node to run DataInstall

Hi,
After two node installation from where do i run datainstall. Is it from db node or application tier node.
$java oracle.apps.per.DataInstall apps apps thin server.domain:port:SID
And regarding applying the hrglobal.drv patch, I should apply it from application node right??.
I am confused becoz all the documents says run datainstall and to apply hrglobal.drv on database tier
And one more thing is what about the order in which i have to apply patches.
First datainstall, hrglobal.drv
Second NLS patch.
or the otherway around
First NLS patch
second datainstall, hrglobal.drv

It says to apply the patch to db node. But $PER_TOP is in application node. So how can i apply hrglobal.drv patch which in $PER_TOP on applicaiton tier from dbtier.
And moreover in a two node installation will there be adpatch utility on dbnode as well.
Say i have got two nodes
node1-->db node
node2--> apps node
First my doubt is will there be APPL_TOP, and other TOPs available in db node (node1).
If yes then it clarifies my doubt.
Regarding NLS patch, sorry i did not mean the hrglobal NLS patch but the main R12 NLS patch. (6678700_AR).
So do i apply this R12 NLS patch (6678700 for additional lang) first then datainstall,hrglobal.drv
of first datainstall,hrglobal.drv then R12 NLS patch 6678700
My apps version is R12.1.1

Not able to deploy windows kernel driver on target machine from visual studio

I have created windows kernel driver, and signed it with production certificate. Now I could install this driver on my target machine manually(copying inf, cat and sys).
I want to make use of the visual studio 2013's deployment facility to deploy the driver automatically. But when I try to add the target computer(with administrative account) it failed with error message "The account credentials used to connect to the
target computer could not gain administrator access to the target computer. Try using the built-in Administrator account".
what possibly could be wrong?

Pavel The host machine is on a domain(say ABC) and I am logged In as the domain administrator. On The target machine I am logged in as the local administrator. Now while adding the target computer from visual studio I am asked for the administrator account
credentials and I am providing the local administrator credentials there.
Pavel I found it is necessary to install "WDK Test Target Setup x64-x64_en-us.msi" on the target machine which I had not run. Once installing that I passed through the previously mentioned steps and after performing few installations target machine
got rebooted. And then the deployment process hanged on step a "Attempting to connect...". Tried this for multiple times but result in to the same problem.

How to deploy jar file in WLS using ant script

Im trying to deploy a jar file in weblogic 10.3 using ant script and am running into the below error.
+[wldeploy] weblogic.management.DeploymentException: [J2EE:160177]The application at "/u01//RSJBObjects.jar" was not recognized as a valid application type. If this is an EAR file, please ensure the META-INF/application.xml exists. EJB-JARs should have a META-INF/ejb-jar.xml or corresponding annotations exist. If this is an exploded WAR, the name of directory must be end with ".war". RARs require a META-INF/ra.xml. A JMS deployment should be an XML file whose name ends with "-jms.xml". A JDBC deployment should be an XML file whose name ends with "-jdbc.xml". For other application types, please consult the WebLogic Server documentation.+
When i try to deploy the same manually from the console, i get a warning stating that WLS thought this as a library and hence proceeding to deploy as a library. After this warning the deployment continues and completes.
Problem is when i try to deploy using ant, it breaks at this point.
Is there any means that we can deploy a jar to WLS using ant script. This has to be deployed as a library as other apps would be using this jar.
Im unable to create a ear file for this single jar file.
If there is any suggestion on can this be done, please share.

Thanks for the reply, it worked.
Another doubt on the same lines. Now that the jar has been deployed as a library in WLS, when i try to deploy a WAR which refers to this deployed jar library, im unable to. I run into and error stating that the library is inaccessible.
I have to bounce the server and before doing that, i have to manually copy the library.jar from <WLS_domain>/servers/AdminServer/upload/ directory to <WLS_domain>/lib/ directory, once copied i then try to deploy the WAR, then the deployment goes fine.
Is there any means that this deployed library jar be made available soon after deployment and also to avoid copying the file.

How to start the admin server on another WLS machine?

          I have a weblogic cluster with 2 weblogic machines: machineA and machineB.
          The cluster contains 4 managed servers (2 on each WLS machine)
          The admin server runs on machineA (standalone).
          I have a file backup of the domain directory on machineA.
          Suppose machineA crashes.
          How can I start the admin server on machineB?

          The documentation says:
          Restarting an Administration Server on Another Machine
          If a machine crash prevents you from restarting the Administration Server on the same machine, you can recover management of the running Managed Servers as follows:
          Install the WebLogic Server software on the new administration machine (if this has not already been done).
          Make your application files available to the new Administration Server by copying them from backups or by using a shared disk. Your application files should be available in the same relative location on the new file system as on the file system of the original Administration Server.
          Make your configuration and security data available to the new administration machine by copying them from backups or by using a shared disk. For more information, refer to Directory and File Backups for Failure Recovery.
          Restart the Administration Server on the new machine.
          Simply starting the admin server on the other machine does not work because it tries to start the admin server on the ip address of the old machine.

Question about deploy the scenario to another machine

I am trying to deploy the scenario to another machine, since I want to keep the version same, what I did is: 1. export the scenario from source machine designer 2.import the scenario in target operator.
The import is successful and it is running fine, but for each scenario I get 2 scenario in the target machine operator, one is like scen1, another is copy of scen1. why does this happen? did I miss anything during the process?

I believe that you are importing it in "Duplication" mode, in cause of that it is creating a copy.
Please, try import it in Insert Update mode

MDB deployment issue

I am developing j2ee application, my MDB needs some helper code which was loaded in the init of a load-on-startup servlet. If the queue has some accumulated messages, when I restart the app server(weblogic), the MDBs are pretty quick get deployed and starts hard wroking, but the servelet takes a bit longer, so the helper code is not available yet, that caused problem. Tha same thing happened when shut down the server. Any suggestion? How can I prevent the MDB to work until the servlet is fully loaded?

You could try and move the 'helper code' from the servlet into the MDB. If you put the code into the ejbCreate() method of the MDB, you can be sure that the code gets executed before the MDB tries to process any messages from a JMS destination.
As far as I can see, this amounts to about the same thing as putting code that is required to run before a servlet's doGet() or doPost() method in the init() method of that servlet. I've done this before with good results.

Can I have 2 Separate Time Machine backups on one Mac?

I have a Mac running Snow leopard which I keep connected to an external USB drive. That drive is set up to automatically back my machine through Time Machine and it works great.
I would like to also do a backup of my machine and all its files onto a portable USB drive that I can then take to the office (i.e. remove it from the house) for security purposes. Once every couple of weeks I would plan on bringing the portable USB drive back home, plugging it into the Mac, doing another Time Machine backup and then removing it again.
Can I have 2 separate Time Machine backups onto 2 separate hard drives (as described above) on a single Mac?

MDB deployment in cluster

i have an MDB deployed to a weblogic cluster(weblogic10).
My requirement is i need MDB failover in case one server goes down. so i have no choice of deploying the MDB to any of the manged server. i ahve set the maximum pool size as 1 for MDB,but the MDB is instantiated from each managed server. I need only one MDB to service the queue ,but needs failover in case the any of the servere fails. Any option to do this in weblogic server.If not possible by waht way i can accomplish this task.

Is there any special reason why you only want one MDB to consume messages fro the queue?
