MDM Tuple Update using Auto ID field of Main table
Hi Experts,
I am getting an issue while updating the tuple in MDM.
The scenario is as follow:
We are using DEBMDM06, where one of the field of the XSD is populated with the Auto ID field of MDM.
This scenario is used for re-importing of data for updating the tuple.
Now, I have mapped all the tuple related fields and have mapped the Auto ID field that exist in XSD with the Auto ID field that exists in MDM and using the same field for Matching.
This matching works, but after executing import does not update the tuple, whereas it updates the rest of the fields of the Main table.
I am aware that Tuple does not support the Auto ID field, but I believe we can use this field ( belonging to main table) and execute import action for updating tuple.
Has anyone come across this issue? Can we use Auto ID as a matching field to update the tuple?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Parul Malhotra
Hi
Have you tried with "Updated Null Fields", as Auto id is a calculated field we can not import any data in it. Try importing with "update Null fields " and let us know the result.
Check the Tuple update options in configuration options of you import map and import manager.
I do not have a MDM 7.1 system to check, update null fields should solve your problem
Let us know the results
Thanks

Repository not loaded after creating images field in main table
Hi Experts,
I have added an Image field to Main table in Materials repository(by linking the images table).
after this I tried to load my repository, it is still loading. It is taking lot of time but no response yet.
It is showing message like "Loading Processing charecters indices for 'Products' under repositories list of MDM server.
I am using MDM build version 7.1.01.46. Please let me know what will be the problem.
Thanks,
RDNPrasadHi RDNPrasad,
Apart from verifying and repairing your repository, load your repository with update indices. SAP recommends that whenever you do some structural changes to the repository or modifying it through MDM Console, MDM cannot know precisely which indices need to be updated. And as in your case you are adding some image fields to your repository so at the time of loading repository, load it with update indices.
I hope I am able to solve your problem
Thanks & Regards

Creating an auto incrementing field with CREATE TABLE from Java
I'm using the "sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver" to get a connection towards an ODBC data source that's linked to a Access (.mdb) database.
I've tried various combinations in my CREATE TABLE statement execution in order to create a table with an auto incrementing integer but neither of them work, not even the most obvious one:
stmt.executeUpdate("CREATE TABLE mytable(uid integer AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY);");
I always get this runtime exception: *java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error in field definition*; and AUTO_INCREMENT is the problem. I've tried all variations like AUTO, INCREMENT, AUTOINCREMENT and such, but nothing works.
I've looked everywhere but couldn't find an answer to this. Thanks for the help. You used MySQL syntax. I think you agree with me that Access isn't a MySQL database. Either use MySQL with a real JDBC driver (recommended) or use Access syntax.
That said, creating databases and tables using Java is a bad idea. The database and table must be already there. With Java you just do the usual table operations like select, insert, update and delete. Nothing more is needed. -
How to update/copy into the fields of standard table
Hi all,
I have a piece of code in user exit, in which i have to populate the field atwrt (cntry of origin) in EIPO-HERKL in a delivery document..
but if i assign it directly to the field as i've shown in code, it wont take it.
moreover, it looks be a standard table(EIPO), but it is not.. its a work area..
READ TABLE i_val_tab WITH KEY atnam = c_cntr.
IF sy-subrc = 0.
EIPO-HERKL = i_val_tab-atwrt.
MODIFY EIPO.
ENDIF.
so kindly guide me how to do dat..do i have to populate it in some other standard table(for country of origin field) which will automatically put the field in EIPO-HERKL?Hello Pradeep,
Generally, in most of the User Exits, we'll find something called X and Y Structures. For example, XVBAK and YVBAK where the X Structure contains the Old Value and the Y Structure contains the New Value (meaning, the Value that is currently on the Screen before Saving). So, try to find out similar structures through which you can update the Value in the Standard Table.

Auto Populate Field in One Table with Primary Key from another table.
Greetings all,
I have created two tables. One for Root Cause which will be the based description information of an analysis. Each Root cause can have many corrective actions.
My Table structure is as follows:
RCCA TABLE:
=====================================
Column Name Data Type Nullable
RCCAID NUMBER No
DESCRIPTION VARCHAR2(4000) Yes
SUMMARY VARCHAR2(4000) Yes
OWNER VARCHAR2(4000) Yes
DATEOFINCIDENT DATE Yes
STATUS VARCHAR2(4000) Yes
CORRECTIVE ACTION TABLE
=====================================
Column Name Data Type Nullable
CAID NUMBER No
RCCAID NUMBER No
CANUMBER NUMBER Yes
CACTION VARCHAR2(4000) Yes
DATEDUE DATE Yes
COMMENTS VARCHAR2(4000) Yes
So I have a form that creates the RCCA and then I have another form that I want to feed off of the first form. My thought was that when the RCCA was created, it would open a report of the RCCA and then in another region of the page I would add corrective action form. What I am looking to do is when I press the Create Corrective Action, it will automatically populate the RCCAID in the Corrective Action Table so that it is associated directly to the RCCA. I don't want to have to have someone know what the RCCAID is from teh RCA table because they are autogenerated.
There may be a better way to do this and since I am new to APEX and to Oracle Databases, I am just going with what my logic tells me. Any assistance or thoughts would be appreciated.
Assuming there would be some type of trigger?
I will have to be able to view each RCCA and CA in a report that customers will see.
Thanks in Advance

A field of the table in sql server db can't be updated with the db adapter
Hi all,
I am using db adapter to update data in bpel. The database is sql server.
But on the running time, i find a field which named 'JDBCT1' can't be updated. all the other fields of this table can be updated properly.
For the operation type, i have tried the update only and execute pure sql. None of them works.
The version of SOA is 11.1.1.6.
Can any one give some solutions?
It's urgent, thank you!Hi,
Pls check the data type in your mapping file and data type in table. It might be mismatched.

Nathan-
This is a bug. I've reported it at:
http://bugzilla.solarmetric.com/show_bug.cgi?id=910
I expect it will be fixed in the next release. In the meantime, if you
want to use a numeric wrapper for your auto-increment field, it will
need to be of type java.lang.Long.

Nathan-
Is the primary key field an Integer in both the application
identity
class and the persistent class itself? They need to both be the same
class.
If they are the same, and you are still getting the exception, could
you post the code for the classes (or else mail them to
[email protected])?

What type of generic delta to use and what field?
Dear BW Gurus,
I am creating a generic datasource based on a view BSAK and BSIK (Accounts Payable tables). I am not able to determine what type of generic delta (numeric pointer, calender day or timestamp) should i use and what field in the table should it that be based on? All or any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
RajCALDAY on field BLDAT (in both tables) seem an obvious candidate.
Added - You will need help from functional people (or you can try it in ABAP forum) to determine which date field is updated with the system date when these tables are updated with SAP txns (some hint can be had by looking at the data)- the fields of interest would be -
BUDAT
BLDAT
CPUDT
It is almost certain that CALDAY is the only option you have for delta type, and one of these three fields will have to be chosen.

Main table vs Look up Table in MDM 7.1
Hi All,
I was looking at major differences between Main table and flat table. My question is what stops me from using my lookuptable as the main table as I can do Syndication, key mapping etc even with my flat tables.(Unless I am wrong in my assumption).
Regards,
PremjitHi ,
Maintable will hold data for a particular maste. It contains primary information about a business object such as a product or supplier. Lookup table will be a field which describes the master. you cannot use lookup as a main table because:
1. The data model flexibility to accomodate different data types: such as hiererchies, taxonomies, QT wont be possible using flat lookup tables.
2. Storing such a huge amount of data(lacs of records) in lookup will have lots of performance related issues and will slow down your MDM instance.
3. During integration with Portal it'll be very difficult and will require huge effort to use MDM JAVA API's to fetch/enter data to MDM.
These are few reasons which makes the case of using lookups as MT very weak. There will be more reasons im sure.
