MDX  and Filter or Where

Hello,
I have below query which gives me customer names from Cube, where Customer is dimension
SELECT
{ } ON COLUMNS,
{[Customer].leaves}
ON ROWS
FROM [Sales Forecast]
QUERY PROPERTIES flattenColumns="true"I want to add something more here and get those customers only where [Customer].[Channel] is "Distributor"
How my query should be?
Thanks,
Sumant

@matt
Yes I have referred many documents from the web, however couldn't find the suitable solution for my problem.
I might not have explained my problem very clearly.
if you see the query,
I am accessing customer dimension as my rows, and I want to have only those customers where [Customer].[Channel] has "Distributor" not the "InterCompany"
we generally don't have the same dimension used as rows and where condition, right?
thanks,
Sumant

  • Where is the "sort and filter" in numbers?

    I am trying to sort rows using Numbers for iPad. I can sort an entire table by using the Sort function when you highlight a column. However, I am now trying to sort only certain rows, i.e. a sort within a sort, and this is proving ridiculously difficult. I've read this can be done by highlighting and choosing "sort and filter" from the toolbar. However, I don't see this toolbar nor the "sort and filter". Where is it? I see 4 icons in the upper left: info, picture, wrench, and arrows. I'm very frustrated as it seems this should be so easy to do in a spreadsheet application. I appreciate any help!

    The text pop-up menu you read about may have been the Add Filter pop-up menu in the Query HUD (Cmd-F). You can use it to add additional text search boxes to the HUD. You already have one by default in the upper right corner of the HUD.
    That's for searching.
    Again, if what you're trying to do is overlay text on an image, you can't really do that except as I described the previous reply.
    If what you're trying to do is enter text to an image's metadata, you do that in the Metadata Inspector (I).

  • Problem with 'sort and filter' feature of embed codes in Excel Online Web App

    So my question has to do with the Excel Online feature where you can share a spreadsheet and embed it in a website with the option of allowing users to sort and filter the data. (The option is under the "Interaction" heading.)
    One of the options if you look closely is "Let people sort and filter" which is not checked off. In the embed code you can see "AllowInteractivity=False". The problem is that when I check "Let people sort and filter"
    the embed code changes completely - going from:
    <iframe width="700" height="900" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="https://onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=dontworryaboutitEDFD383&resid=6BAA9620AEDFD383%21107&authkey=AFj3X8xq2U3IfDE&em=2&wdAllowInteractivity=False&Item='Sheet1'!A1%3AI32"></iframe>

    If I manually change 'false' to 'true' that doesn't do the trick so I'm not sure what to try next.
    Any thoughts?

  • Interpreting Predicate  and Filter information from the explain plan

    Can somebody help in understanding how does the predicate and filter operation effects the execution plan.or how can I conclude the predicate or filter operation chosen by optimizer is not optimized.

    User445775,
    The paraphrase that I provided in my previous post was from page 74 of "Cost-Based Oracle Fundamentals".
    How to word the explanation...
    Assume that you have a database table which contains all of the phone numbers and addresses for people in a state. A query is executed to find user445775 in the city named "Redmond". Assume that the query looks like this:
    SELECT
      PHONE
    FROM
      PHONE_NUMBERS
    WHERE
      CITY = 'Redmond'
      AND FULL_NAME = 'user445775';Assume that there are no indexes on the table. The DBMS_XPLAN would show two filter predicates applied during a full tablescan - this probably indicates an inefficient access path, especially if there are a very small percentage of people matching the WHERE clause restrictions on the table.
    Now, assume that an index is created on the CITY column. The DBMS_XPLAN would show an access predicate applied to the index on the CITY column, and a filter predicate on the table access by index for the FULL_NAME. We eliminated a large number of possible rows by applying the access predicate to jump directly to the rows with the city of interest, and then filtered out those names which were not 'user445775'. This is not terribly efficient, especially if there are a large number of people in 'Redmond' that need to be filtered out.
    Now, assume that we drop the index on the CITY column and create an index on the FULL_NAME column. The DBMS_XPLAN would show an access predicate applied to the index on the FULL_NAME column, and a filter predicate on the table access by index for the CITY column. This could be a fairly efficient plan if there are only a couple rows in the table with FULL_NAME of 'user445775', as few rows will be discarded after the index access to find those with CITY = 'Redmond'.
    Now, assume that we drop the index on the FULL_NAME column and create a composite index on CITY,FULL_NAME. The DBMS_XPLAN would show an access predicate applied to the index on the CITY and FULL_NAME columns and there would not be a filter predicate on the table access by index - in this case, we will not discard any rows once retrieved by the index access.
    Page 211 of "Troubleshooting Oracle Performance" also shows a clear explanation of access and filter predicates.
    Think of access predicates (on indexes at least) as throwing out rows before they are retrieved from disk (or memory), and filter predicates as throwing out rows after they are retrieved from disk (or memory).

  • Difference between Restricted KeyFigure and Filter

    Hi Experts
    Could anyone tell me what is the main difference between Restricted Keyfigure and Filter.. Normally in which scenario we will use Restricted Key Figure and when we will use in Filter...
    Thanks
    Ajay

    Restricted Key Figure
    In your sales analysis report you have customer,material,sales qty,value for an year..You want to show current month sales one more column.You will create a restritcted key figure based on the current month and show it in the report.You will end up with a report
    customer,material,sales qty,value,Current Month Qty,Current Month value.
    Filters
    The above report you want to show only the current month sales.You will create a filter where the 0CALMONTH = current Month with customer,material,sales qtym,value for the current month only.

  • Enable Profile (ACR) and Filter Lens Corrections does not recognize Lens

    I did several searches and couldn't find this so it may be a new question. I'm running into it in both CS5 (Camera Raw and Filter > Lens Corrections) and Lightroom 3.3 (Develop- Enable Profile). I'm asking here since I figure if I can fix CS5, I'll know what to do in Lightroom.
    I have a Canon 1D MK IV. ACR recognizes the camera and processes the raw file. I check updates and everything is current. With Enable Profile checked, some lenses like my 24-105 L are recognized but my 17-35 L seems to be a complete mystery to it. I'm assuming that this is due to a missing profile.
    Am I correct in thinking that the process is, download, install and run the Adobe Profile downloader. If I do not find any hits for my lens, I am then in the spot of having to use the profile creator to build one (or go without).?
    Are there any other sources for camera / lens profiles that can be imported into the enable profile process?
    Once you have a new profile where do you store it?   under Users> Owner > AppData > Roaming > Adobe > Lens Correction ?
    Thanks
    Rick

    Just to make sure:  Have specifically checked to ensure you have the latest Camera Raw update (6.3)?  I know you said you checked updates, but it never hurts to do a Help - About Plug-in... in Photoshop and double check.

  • Sorting query in MDX query filter in PPS

    Hi,
    Iam new to the PPS world. Iam using MDX query filter and I need to create a filter field using the [BusinessLine].[Department] dimension. I need to sort the display value of Department in descending order in the filter and Iam using the following
    Order([BusinessLine].[Department],[BusinessLine].[Department],DESC) in the query window while creating the filter. But Iam getting 'No value found'! result.
    Please let me know Iam doing any mistake in this

    Hi Umair,
    Thanks for the reply
    The department here is Attribute and BusinessLine is dimension in my cube.For other requirement(the department has to be sorted based on the creation date attribute) purpose I have kept department as composite key with other attribute called CREATE_DATE
    with named column as department
    Order (
    [BuisnessLine].[Department].[DEPARTMENT],
    [BusinessLine].[CREATE_DATE].Properties("Name"),
    DESC
    Iam just replacing the above query as it is in the Enter MDX formul? page
    Is it correct.

  • How to access sort direction and filter value of columns?  Can I catch the 'filtered' or 'sorted' event?

    We have some columns being added to a table.  We have set the sortProperty and the filterProperty on each of our columns.
    This allows us to both filter and sort.
    We want to be able to access the columns filter value and sort value after the fact.  Can we access the table and then the columns and then a columns properties to find these two items?  How can I access the sort direction and filter value of columns?
    We would also like to store the filter value and the sort direction, and re-apply them to the grid if they have been set in the past.  How can we dynamically set the filter value and sort direction of a column?
    Can I catch or view the 'filtered' or 'sorted' event?  We would like to look at the event that occurs when someone sorts or filters a column.  Where can I see this event or where can i tie into it, without overwriting the base function?

    Hey everyone,
    Just wanted to share how I implemented this:
    Attach a sort event handler to table - statusReportTable.attachSort(SortEventHandler);
    In this event handler, grab the sort order and sorted column name then set cookies with this info
    function SortEventHandler(eventData)
        var sortOrder = eventData.mParameters.sortOrder;
        var columnName = eventData.mParameters.column.mProperties.sortProperty;
        SetCookie(sortDirectionCookieName, sortOrder, tenYears);
        SetCookie(sortedColumnCookieName, columnName, tenYears);
    Added sortProperty and filterProperty to each column definition:
    sortProperty: "ColName", filterProperty: "ColName",
    When i fill the grid with data, i check my cookies to see if a value exists, and if so we apply this sort:
    function FindAndSortColumnByName(columnName, sortDirection (true or false))
        var columns = sap.ui.getCore().byId('statusReportTable').getColumns();
        var columnCount = columns.length;
        for(var i = 0; i < columnCount; i ++)
            if(columns[i].mProperties.sortProperty == columnName)
                columns[i].sort(sortDirection);

  • Unable to run XPSDrv Driver and Filter Sample

    Hello
    I'm facing to a problem with XPSDrv Driver and Filter Sample on my Windows 7 x64 machine
    I installed Visual Studio Ultimate 2013
    I installed WDK 8.1
    I installed WDK 8.1 Test Pack
    I installed everything from this
    site and I think that's all what I need for building the sample.
    Next I downloaded XPSDrv Driver and Filter Sample from
    http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowshardware/XPSDrv-Driver-and-Filter-980d24bc (btw. there is a step-by-step tutorial how to build the sample)
    1. Open the solution file in Visual Studio 2013 (I opened solution C++\XPSDrvSmpl.sln)
    2. Add all non-binary files (usually located in the \install directory of the sample) to the Package project
         a. In the Solution Explorer, right click
    Driver Files (HERE IS THE PROBLEM, WHAT IS DRIVER FILES ??? SEE PICTURE BELOW)
         b. Select Add, then click Existing Item
         c. Navigate to the location to which you downloaded the sample, and select all the files in the install directory, or the equivalent set of non-binary files such as INFs, INIs, GPD, PPD files, etc.
         d. Click Add
    Look at the picture how does my solution look like:
    Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong?
    Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.

    So after I add the InstallPackage, I added all the files in the install folder to the driver files. Than I added all the files of the install folder to the package files in the properties of the driver package. I also added all the dlls of the sample to
    the package files. Then I edited the inf file:
    Change DriverVer to a new date,because the old one is not working.
    And this under the driverver:
    CatalogFile=xdsmpl.cat
    Add this to each Microsoft.xx sections: {GUID}
    Should look like this:
    [Microsoft.NTx86]
    "XPSDrv Sample Driver" = INSTALL_XDSMPL_FILTERS_PRE_VISTA,{GUID}
    [Microsoft.NTia64]
    "XPSDrv Sample Driver" = INSTALL_XDSMPL_FILTERS_PRE_VISTA,{GUID}
    Change the location of the dlls under SourceDisksFiles to 1 or leave it to 2 if you have subfolders for architecures.
    So my inf looks like that:

    Reinstalling MacOS does NOT fix the problem for me.  I'm still searching a solution !

  • How do I get my iPad and IPhone synced where if I delete an email off one it is deleted off the other device?

    How do I get my iPad and IPhone synced where if I delete an email off one it is deleted off the other device? I can get all the Apps and music from one to the other but why won't the emails I delete off one not delete off the other? Is there anyway where I can make this happen?

    As James says, make sure that you are using the IMAP servers for your email. You will need to check the help pages for your email provider to get the correct settings in all your devices. POP really doesn't fit the needs of todays mutiple access, always on internet, so you are better off moving to IMAP.

  • Whilst playing a selection from a CD I've put in my CD drive, I select Controls and then wish to increase the volume.  It tells me to Press Control and then Up.  Where is the Up button please ?  Thank you.

    My question is how do I increase the volume when playing a CD in iTunes.  The volume slide is at full, but when I press Controls, it tells me to press Control and UP.  Where is the UP on my PC or is it on the screen ??
    Thank you.

    It means the UP arrow on your keyboard. Depending on your keyboard, it is usually located on the right hand side of the keyboard, either with the numbers keys or below the Enter (Return) key.
    However, Control/Up will simply attempt to move the slider in your iTunes programme further up. If the slider is already at the top, then those keys will have no effect, since the iTunes volume is already at maximum. Perhaps your computer's volume controls need adjusting.
    In Windows XP, I believe (if I recall correctly) that the volume control is in Start/Accessories/ and either Volume or Mixer. In Windows 7, it's in Start/Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Adjust Sytem Volume.
