MediaPlayer broken with Java SE 7 Update 9

Me and a few others are working on a project together that contains a MediaPlayer/MediaView.
After updating to the latest version of Java the MediaPlayer/MediaView stopped working in browsers.
Is there anyway to fix this or is this a problem with Java itself?

Oh sorry you're right.
The only thing that gives anything resembling an error is the console and it lists this

  • 2x java.exe and j2launcher.exe !! with Java 1.7 Update 17

    Helo,
    Forms 10.1.2.3
    Java 1.7 17
    Windows 7
    I know Forms 10.1.2.3. does not support Java 7 !
    Still my question.
    I have provided the workaround with the parameter java.vendor = "Sun .....".
    Thus, the application works. With Java 1.7 Update 03 I had no problems.
    Now I've switched to 1.7 Update 17 and have the following behavior:
    The Java console is opened twice. Likewise, I see in the taskmanager suddenly two jp2launcher.exe and two java.exe processes.
    with Update 03, there was only one process !
    Can anyone tell me why?

    7u21 with medium security is better than 7u17 with high security. This is because u21 has fixed 42 security issues. So even with u21 on medium, you're less exposed that the high level of security on u17.

  • Java 1.6 update 7 with Java 1.6 update 10 Next Generation Plugin, possible?

    Hello,
    I have a quick question. A client I work with has a need to use Java 1.6 update 7 to access their Oracle applications. We need to have the plugin (Next Generation) work with this version, even though I am aware that it does not come with it. I tried moving the npjp2.dll plugin in to the Firefox plugins, and although it shows up as the plugin inside Firefox, Java never loads.
    Is there a way to force upon Java 1.6 update 7, the Next Generation plugin for it to be compatible with Firefox? I am currently trying this on Firefox 10 due to browser security features that killed my testing in later versions.
    Disclaimer:
    1.) I understand Firefox 10esr is old, and prone to security vulnerabilities
    2.) I understand Java 1.6u7 is also old and prone to security vulnerabilities
    Please advise. Thanks!
    Dan

    You would have to create a registry key that points to the other Java version, just like there is one for the current Java release.
    64 bit Windows:
    HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\MozillaPlugins\@java.com/JavaPlugin,version=xx.xx.xx
    32 bit Windows:
    HKLM\Software\MozillaPlugins\@java.com/JavaPlugin,version=xx.xx.xx

  • L7780 scan not compatible with Java 6.0 update 26

    FYI - Recently my computer updated to Java 6.0 update 26. It killed my scanning capabilities. After hours spent both with desktop and with printer troubleshooters with no solution, I decided to uninstall Java from my computer. Don't know why they didn't suggest this as I told them I thought that may have caused the problem. Updated to 6.0 update 27 fixed the problem. (available currently on the Oracle site.)  This was the 2nd time I think a Java update adversly affected my scanning. Hope this helps someone else.

    To answer your question mha007, no, those links did not provide any helpful information. I had already read up on any information regarding Java and their compatibility with Firefox.
    I already knew that this was not an issue with either Java or Firefox, since my Java was working normally albeit unable to display certain Java applets. My question was ''why'' Java was not able to display those certain applets.
    Apparently many other people had been experiencing the exact same issue that I was experiencing with that Java applet. The website released this statement explaining the issue with their Java applet:
    ''"Sun/Oracle basically pulled the rug out from anyone using this version of JOGL (the OpenGL library we use) by replacing their specially signed JARs with unsigned versions."''
    This issue has officially been solved as I now understand the reason for my issues with Java and Firefox.
    Although it should be noted that it is the responsibility of the Java applet's website to update their applet in order to be compatible with the current version of Java. The website I was experiencing the issue with is currently doing exactly that, which effectively resolves my issue.

  • Clientless SSL RDP Plugin Issues with Java 1.7 update 45

    Hi All,
    It appears the latest Java update (1.7 Update 45) has caused some issues with the Cisco RDP plugin for Clientless SSL VPN.
    When attempting to run the plugin to connect to a host, the following error message is receieved:
    I believe this may be because the plugin is unsigned which on the previous version of Java seemed to cause pop-ups prior to running. This error seems to occur in both IE and Firefox. The OS is Windows 7.
    I can confirm that the previous version of Java (1.7 Update 25) worked OK with this plugin apart from the warning mentioned above.
    Does anybody know of a work around or a fix for this? Does Cisco have to update their plugin for this to work on the latest Java version?
    Regards
    David

    Hi Jouni,
    Thanks for the reply. From the thread you linked:
    The workaround posted in the Cisco  Bug is to uncheck the setting "Keep temporary files on my computer"  which is found in the Java Control Panel under the General Tab /  Temporary Internet Files / Settings ...
    This workaround has worked for me with Jave 7 Update 45 on both PC and Mac.
    I've just tested this and it has resolved the issue for me.
    Thanks!

  • Problem with Java Dates and UPDATE for SQL2000

    I am having problems with the date formats for Java. I am trying to put the current date time into a SQL table, here it the code I am using:

  • Slow, not responding, and not compatible with java etc since updating to 6.0.2. Love Firefox normally but am not happy.

    Since updating to Firefox 6.0.2 i have not been happy with the way it is running. It is incredibly slow, keeps telling me its 'not responding' and looking at my add-ons, seems incompatible with the java console, with skype click to call, etc. I also seem unable to look at complex 3d graphics online, which used to work fine. Now they end up crashing the system.
    This is a big problem for me, and i have noticed (on your other forums on this website) that others are having similar problems.
    Is there any thing i can do before this problem is eventually fixed by firefox?

    i tried. like i said, only when i disable all i can watch youtube. i have not checked settings of extensions but i am not an it specialist. i probably would not know what to look for.

  • JDeveloper installation not working with Java 1.7 Update 11

    Hi,
    I am trying to install jDeveloper (11.1.1.6.2) for Fusion Applications Release 4 using Java 1.7 and its failing with a fatal error. I am on Mac Lion Version 10.7.5. Any ideas how to overcome this !?

    I am afraid that's a configuration that isn't certified (and presumably for the reason you discovered). See

  • Deployment Rule Set broken with Java 7u55

    Hello!
    I'm using Deployment Rule Set in my company environment, its signed by code signing certificate that is given out by internal CA. After I upgraded to Java 7u55, the Deployment Rule Set does not recognize older statically installed Java version.
    Versions I have:
    7u45 - install directory: C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.7.0_45
    7u51 - install directory: C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.7.0_51
    7u55 - install directory: C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.7.0_55 or C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\ - neither does not work
    When I go to site described in Ruleset and that has to use Java 7u45, then I receive an message "Deployment Rule Set required Java version 1.7.0_45 not available. In the same way it doesn't recognize 1.7.0.51 or even Java version 6.
    When I uninstall Java 7u55, everthing works fine again.
    My ruleset looks like this:
    <ruleset version="1.0+">
         <rule>
              <id location="first.site.com" />
              <action permission="run" version="1.7.0_45" />
         </rule>
         <rule>
              <id location="second.site.com" />
              <action permission="run" version="1.7.0_51" />
         </rule>
         <rule
              <id />
              <action permission="default" />
         </rule>
    </ruleset>
    Anyone knows what's wrong or is it a bug?

    costlow - I disagree.  If I'm using IE, then I only need the internal certficate used to sign the jar to be also insalled on the machine in question in the windows CA Certs store.  If the cert was the issue, why does it work with 7u51.  If it was a bad cert, it should fail with every version.  Plus, I think the pop up has a different error message if it has a cert issue.
    I'm having the exact same issue as the OP described and it all started with 7u55.  Here's what I've found:
    - With 7u55 or 7u60 installed, the error will come up rergardless of what prior version is being requested.
    - If 7u51 is the latest installed, it works
    -  If 8u05 is installed with 7u55 and/or 7u60, it works
    - If I install the 7u60 EA b15, it works
    Something in the final release is being added that blocks this functionality, but for some odd reason only in the 7 family starting with 7u55.
    Any insight you could give would be very helpful.  In the meantime, I am deploying 8u05 to cover this up, but it does pose issues for some apps that don't work with the new 8 family plugin.

  • Font Scaling Broken with 11.0.07 Update

    I am using Adobe Acrobat XI and since the update to 11.0.07, font scaling is broken.  The menus use to obey the Windows setting for font scaling.  I have my font size set to 125%, so in previous versions, the menu fonts were 25% larger.  Since the update the fonts are always small.  This problem appears to be caused by a new feature (bug?) called HD DPI where instead of matching the Windows font size it will either be 100%, which is my case is small or 200% which is obnoxiously large, and nothing in between.  Can this please be fixed in the next update?

    Hi Luc,
    The drop down menus are no longer following the PPI setting in Control Panel, since the update to 11.0.07.  It looks like the menu bar may be the correct size but when you pull down the menu the text is smaller.  Here is a screen shot of the menu vs the one from Notepad.  The menu text in Acrobat is much smaller.  The menu text was a similar size prior to the 11.0.07 update.  The same problem occurs in the Tools and Comments menus.
    Thank you,

  • I need help with java Time Zone Updater for Venezuela Time Zone

    Hi,
    I've run the latest Time Zone Updater (1.3.5) on JRE 1.4.2. It is supposed to support the time zone changes for Venezuela. The problem is that when I set my Windows time zone and run java.util.TimeZone.getDefault() it says that I am on GMT instead of GMT-04:30.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    I have found the solution for cases in which you cannot update your JRE to anything further than 1.5. You will have to create an extra entry in the Java tzmappings file as follows:
    Venezuela Standard Time:90,90::America/Caracas:After doing this, you will have to create a new String Value in your Windows registry for the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones\Venezuela Standard Time Key as follows:
    Name: MapID
    Value: 90,90
    Best regards.

  • Java Step Types with Java Virtual Machine higher than java-6u16?

    Documentation of Java steps says, that these steps are tested with java version 6 update 16. I am talking about the java step types that can be found in directory <TestStand Public>\TestStand 2010\Examples\Java.
    If I install another java version, e. g. java 7, step "Start JVM" will exit with an error "-4" and error message "Could not launch JVM.". While Debugging source code of JavaCall.dll, I figured the failing code line out:
    "fpCreateJVM(&jvm,(void**)&env,&vm_args);" is the execution of function "JNI_CreateJavaVM" and returns error code -4.
    Till now I could not find out, why the jvm does not start. I guess -4 means "Insufficient memory to create the JVM." (http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370052J-01/tssuppref/infotopics/java_steps_errors/)
    Has anyone an advice for me?

    This post gave me a hint: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3400292/jni-enomem-from-jni-createjavavm-when-calling-dll-that-us...
    Though my development computer has enough ram, jvm is started within the Teststand process which offers limited memory. I changed JavaCall.c and added parameter "-Xmx64m" to the jvm creation call. Now it works with jre 7.
    Because memory space Teststand offers to the jvm is different on different computers, an implementation would be nice that checks how much memory is available and then passes the calculated <MEM> as parameter "-Xmx<MEM>m". Here is an example implementation: https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=1546540
