Meeting invite has UTC time zone info (Exchange 2010)

In .NET C# I create a Meeting for September 9, 2013 2:00 PM-2:45 PM. The Time Zone is correctly booked in meeting organizers' Calendar.
Next I invite someone, and the invitee is sent an email that will display this info below the calendar picture:
When: Monday, September 09, 2013
6:00 PM-6:45 PM. UTC
Note that above the Calendar, the info is correct:
When: September 9, 2013 2:00 PM-2:45 PM
Why is this happening when using EWS?
It is not happening when using Outlook client to invite someone to a meeting.
This is the code (.NET C#) that we use:
Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ExchangeService service = new Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ExchangeService("2010", TimeZoneInfo.FindSystemTimeZoneById("Eastern Standard Time"));
service.Credentials = new Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.WebCredentials(sUser, sPassword, sDomain);
service.Url = new Uri(sEWS);
appointment = Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.Appointment.Bind(service, new Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ItemId("AAA"));
appointment.RequiredAttendees.Add("[email protected]");
appointment.Update(Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ConflictResolutionMode.AlwaysOverwrite, Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.SendInvitationsOrCancellationsMode.SendOnlyToChanged);
Thanks,

Hi,
According to the code (.NET C#) used to create the meeting, I noticed that your time zone was set on
Eastern Standard Time(EST).
With my consideration, the reason why the time in invitee’s calendar is different from yours is because the invitee is on UTC time zone which has
5 hour offset with EST.
Additionally, from the last Sunday in March through the Last Saturday in October
daylight savings time is noted as Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), (CDT), (MDT) or (PDT) which is
one hour added to standard time. Therefore, there is 4 hours offset from your time.
To avoid this issue, just set the same time zone in Outlook File > Options > Calendar > Time zones.
If there is any question about daylight saving time, please go to the following forum for more helps:

  • OS has wrong time zone, so db has wrong time zone after RAC db installed

hi Guru, after the RAC db installed, and it is a alive production DB, then I realized that the os has wrong time zone which is MDT (mountain time), I want it as CDT, so I am planning to ask sys admin to change os to CDT, then I just need to bounce the db once os time zone changed? Is that right? that won't corrupted the db after os time zone change right? And this is 2 nodes RAC db, anything I need to be aware before os level timezone change?

    Hello;
Fix the time on the OS and restart the database and you should be done. Simple as that. So to answer your question Right.

  • How to change  PDF comments time in utc time zone*

Currently the eReview PDF time stamp uses the system time for its timestamp.
If there are two reviewers for a eReview packet, one in some X location and other in Phoenix and the reviewer in "X" reviews the packet first on a particular day evening and reviewer in Phoenix reviews the packet in their same day morning then the timestamp shows that Review in Phoenix is done first and "X" is done later.
The same is the case for comments from authors and the reviewers if both are different location.
So I think this time stamp looks inconsistent and does not give the desired information.
so its taking system by default, how to change it from system time to UTC time zone
    Thanks&Regards
    Sam rome

you could use the elapsed time function and hook it up to a case structure so that every .1 seconds you write your data to a file.
    hope this helps:

  • How do I stop iCal from changing my gCal events to UTC time zone when entering new events?

Within the last week, iCal has begun automatically changing the time zone of new events I enter via Calendar on my Google calendar to UTC. It does not do this for items entered on my iCal calendar.
I enter the date and time (Pacific Time)  and as soon as I add an invittee or click "Done" it changes the time zone to UTC.
    Prefs:
iCal time zone support is on
Mac time zone is set automatically (and its correctly finding PDT)
gCal time zone is also set for Pacific
    Calendar reads 11-1 pm...
Yes, one solution would be to not use Calendar. Barring that, what do you suggest?

I was having the same problem and spent some time on the phone with apple today.(new computer is under apple care). Tried a ton of stuff with different folks and ultimately I (well, me and 3 apple specialists) was able to solve this issue.
    Here's the break down:
    1. Quit Mail, Calendar and Messages.
    2. Open: System Preference -> Mail, Contacts & Calendars
    3. Delete all your google accounts (using the little minus button below your account list)
    4. Restart your computer.
    5. Re-add your google accounts. (Obviously, keep the calendar box checked).
    6. Open calendar and wait for your google info to populate.
    7. Attempt to add an event with correct time zone.
    IMPORTANT NOTE:
Events I created while I was having the problem still had the problem.
I simply deleted those broken events and recreated them with refreshed settings.
I've only had this working for a few hours so I'm not certain it will stay working forever.
But for now it is a relief.
I realize deleting and re-adding the accounts is annoying but it's a lot less frustrating than seeing UTC every time you add an event.
Hope that helps everyone else having this problem.

  • How to set a meeting at a different time zone

I have read several letters of users. all try to "trick" the time zones or the meeting times.
This is something to be taken care by Apple.
I live in Israel. When I set a meeting in NYC, I do not want to think on time zones.
I set the meeting to 09:00 and expect to get buzzed at 09:00, in NYC. No matter the time zone I am in.
I want the time zone be updated automatically, as I use the clock of the iPhone for checking the time. I leave my hand watch with the Israeli time zone.
The change of the time in the iPhone, should NOT effect the calander.
I expect that the time zone will be changed automatically and the iPhone to show me the local time, e.g. NYC.
I expect my schedule to remain 09:00. It has nothing to do with the time zones.
Same on the way back to Israel.
I expect Apple to take care about this issue.
    Thanks in advance.

  • UTC Time Zone Impact to Sales & Distribution

We've decided to set out time zone for UTC within the system, while the individual users will set their time zones accordingly.  However, we feel this may lead to some issues with the 6-7 hr time zone difference as most of the users are in Eastern Time or Central Time.  Orders which are created after 7pm Eastern time are recorded as created the following day.
I'm sure some of you SD gurus have came across and discussed this same problem during the course of a project.. just looking for some specifics to look for when it comes to time zone issues with SD processing.  (example: batch jobs, variants, time stamps, inbound sales IDocs from different time zones, sales orders data conversion time stamps, date extracts to BI)

Keep the user time zones in the user profile (t.code SU01). By this way, user transactions will reflect the user time zone -time stamps. For example check this thread Is PGI date beased on system date or user profile time zone date?
Most of the time the basis team can help you to over come the issues. You can also do some testing related to background job running, IDOC receipt/send etc in the test system for clear understanding.
Related OSS Note 481835 - Analyzing the time zone settings for basis team can also be a reference.

  • Create an app for update the time zone info

    Hello,
I would like to create an app for update the zone info region of the iphone, because all the zone are not updated with the last version of DST (Daylight Saving time), for example in my country (Chile) the zone info file is different beetween the official website (IANA.org) and the current firmware of the iphone.
    My question :
What is the posibility for an app to modify the content of the zones ? (here : /private/var/stash/usr/share/zoneinfo/)
it's legal to submit an app with this customization ?
thank you very much for your help.
    Gilles

    ok !! so it's a technical problem ...
sorry for the question, i have only an iphone with jailbreak and i can manipulate all the file, I thought there was the same posibility for an official app without rooting.
    thank Michael.

  • Same user has different time zone setting in Analytics & BI Publisher

    Hi All,
i am using OBIEE 11.1.1.3.0 now,
    1) when login to http://localhost:9704/analytics, the time zone setting is (GMT+08:00) Taipei,
    2) when login to http://localhost:9704/xmlpserver, the time zone setting is [GMT-11:00] Midway Island, Samoa,
it is different, why? and i can't even modify the time zone setting in BI Publisher.
    Regards,
    Makson

do you know how does the default time zone setting come from?It comes with the installation itself default. or it will be related to some database timezone that will be taken by BI.
default time zone values can be changed with variables that have been newly introuduced system session variables like TIMEZONE in OBIEE 11g
TIMEZONE --> Contains the time zone of the user, typically populated from the LDAP profile of the user.

    All,
If this isn't the best forum to post in, please let me know.
I am having an issue when I accept calendar invites in the native/modern application for calendaring in Win 8.1. Whenever I then go back to open and view the contents of a meeting, all the notes are truncated and removed after closing that event.
We are running exchange 2010 for the email server.
The machine is not domain joined/managed (local account only).
    Any assistance greatly appreciated.

  • Meeting invitation has incorrect format

    Hi,
I use EWS to create new appointment and send invitation.
    I fill appointment like:
    appointment.Body = new MessageBody(BodyType.Text, mybody);
    And call to send invitation:
    appointment.Save(SendInvitationsMode.SendToAllAndSaveCopy);
If mybody starts with letter in lower case - it works fine.
But if mybody starts with letter in upper case I receive invitation with body in incorrect format.
    In this case mybody is
    Letter1
    Letter2
    Letter3.
    How can I fix it?
    Thanks.

  • Timezone in meeting invites

    Hi,
I have a user who is located in Israel, his timezone is configured as Jerusalem (currently DST is enabled in Jerusalem timezone), the user created a new meeting and invited several persons from US, UK and Italy,
The invitees from US and UK received the meeting OK, but the invitee from Italy received the meeting as it was one hour ahead,
Can any please explain me what may be the root cause of this issue?
The invitee from Italy does see in his outlook that the organizer (my user) set up the meeting in the Jerusalem time zone,
As far as I understand, when a user set up a meeting and invite someone else, outlook/exchange should convert the time in the meeting to UTC time, but it seems like this is not working properly in this case,
    Please help,

    Hi,
since it works for two but fails for 1 i guess you should asked the one that failed that he doesnt have alternate calendar enabled with different timezone. At least this have been a case i had earlier.
This can be checked in Outlook-file-options-calendar and check if alternate calendar is enabled.
    Hope this helps.

  • Other Time zone

    Hi,
We are using BO XI R2 to create reports. Our database is there in UTC time zone.We have given Default time zone in BO as CST.so all the scheduled reports are running based on CST.
I want to can we create any one report based on other timezone (ex;IST).But it will not affect my default settings. Is it possible?
Can any ony help on this pls?
    Thanks,
    Indu.

    Are you scheduling Crystal Reports?
If so, the special field "Current User CE Time Zone" is set to the Time Zone specified for the User that has scheduled the instance.    You can "Schedule on behalf of" to alter the User context under which a Crystal Report is scheduled.
You can write reports using that time zone value to modify time zone info as needed within the report.
I don't know if there is a way to impart different Time Zone info with Web or Desktop Intelligence scheduling.

  • How to set a specific time zone for time channel in DIADEM

    Hi,
I'd like to know how to autmatically set a specific time zone for time channels in DIADEM.
For example, I have stored data with corresponding time channel in UTC time on a disk which was collected in another time zone. Now I want to analyze this data and I want the time channel to show the local time in the time zone where the data was collected, and not the time in the local time zone where the computer is located.
The time channel should also take site local summer/winter time into account. Now I'm running a script that handles it for me which adds or subtract hours according to my input. The problem is that I'm handling data from several different time zones and I'm not located in any of them and when you're running a lot of data over a greater time period, it's easy to make mistakes, especially when it comes to summer/winter time. Is there a any clever solution to this already implemented in Diadem that I have not found?

    Hi hj77,
No, I'm sorry, DIAdem has no time zone functionality at all.  I'm afraid you have no choice in DIAdem but to keep running your scripts.  Summer and Winter time are truly tricky, because the rules for when the changes occur are different in different countries and states within countries and also can change from year to year within the SAME country (as they did in the US a few years ago).

  • BAPI_MOSRVAPS_CREATESNPORDER - time zone issue

    Hi
We are creating SNP Plan Orders in APO using BAPI_MOSRVAPS_CREATESNPORDER. New Order getting created using the BAPI has time stamp 23:59:59 which is taken from UTC time zone.
Is there any way we can create/load SNP Plan Order with time different time zone OR can have a other time other than 23:59:59
    Thanks
    Deepak

    Hello Mr.Venkat,
    Hope you recognize me.
Please check out the BAdi below.
BAdi - APO_BAPI_BUS10503 (this is the BAdi for ManufactOrderAPS  BAPI which contains the SNPorder BAPI)
    Method - CHANGE_SAVEMULTIPLE2
In this method parameter IT_ORDER_HEAD contains Order start date input option.
For GR time please check this (not sure if it will help).
    Same BAdi/ same method
    Parameter IV_PLANNING_MODE_USAGE contains field PLANNING_MODE.
Value 1 for PLANNING_MODE corresponds to "Observance of parameters from the product master".
This may make it respect the GR time in product master
    Good luck with the above

  • ICal and time zone stamps?

Apologies that this is long. It's three questions about trouble I've recently encountered using iCal.
I imported 80+ appointments into iCal from a .ics file created by Oracle Calendar.
    1. The .ics file did not contain any time zone info, and iCal associated each of the imported appointments with GMT, despite the Mac's zone set to "Denver" in the Date & Time preference pane and iCal's time zone set to "America/Denver". Why doesn't iCal associate unassigned appointments with its own time zone?
    2. Each of those appointments appeared in iCal at the correct local time, despite being associated with GMT. That is, with iCal's zone set to "America/Denver" I would have expected an item imported as, e.g., 10:00 GMT to show up at 17:00 in the iCal window. But none of them did--they all appeared as if they were MST, but with GMT stamps, and I don't understand why.
    3. I didn't actually find out these items were associated with GMT until after I synced with my Palm Tungsten E. All of the items imported as GMT were shifted 7 hours on the Palm. So I went back to iCal and for each and every one of the imported appointments I changed the time zone to "floating" and then "America/Denver". (If I went straight from GMT to MST the appointment jumped 7 hours back in time, and I got tired of this.)
After that process, every event in iCal was associated with MST. I then synced with the Palm and found that, to my surprise, the imported events still showed up on the Palm as if they were GMT, i.e., shifted forward 7 hours. I should add that I didn't merge, I told the sync conduit to erase the Palm's contents.
Back to iCal. I used "Back up Database..." and "Revert to Database backup...", then sync, telling conduit to erase Palm's contents. No change.
Back to iCal. I select one of the troublesome events, "cut" it to the clipboard, and then paste to bring it back. After a sync that one event shows up correctly on the Palm, i.e., as MST as intended.
The question at the end of a long #3 is, if an event is imported with the wrong time zone stamp, why does it retain that stamp despite being manually changed to a different time zone?
I know the knowledge base has an article on incorrect time zone stamps, and that a possible fix is to export the entire database and then import to a new calendar. I didn't find this out until recently, and it doesn't address iCal's behavior so much as provide a workaround.

After looking more closely at the .ics files exported by Oracle Calendar I see that events are exported as if they were GMT; iCal is, indeed, showing the appointments at the correct local time. This makes my first two questions irrelevant.
However, question #3 still remains: why or how does the original GMT stamp persist after manually setting an event's time zone to local time, "America/Denver"?
