Menu Issue in CS 4

I've noticed that the chapter markers in Premiere Pro don't show up in Encore unless you use dynamic link. So here's my question. I have a rather long video that I've edited, (1hr-38mins). Since I did'nt think about it then, I could have broken up the edit into chapters as separate projects, which would presumably make the menu process a lot easier. Since I didn't do that, should I break up my video into nested sequences and do the menu that way? (which has'nt worked so far) OR, should I just link to
Encore and do the menu as is? What I've found so far is that the chapter markers wont link one behind the other, since the timeline is all one sequence.  Mind you, I want the video to play continuously from start to finish, if at all possible. I just want the chapter markers for the convenience of the viewer who need to use them. thanks

Yes, if simple, just add the markers in Encore. Be aware that  you can only add them on gop boundaries. Encore will move them for you. But this limits precision. (To be precise, you must add them before transcoding to mpeg.)
You should export from Premiere/AME using the MPEG2-DVD preset. You can change the bitrate without issue to the markers. You must keep the m2v file in the same directory as the xmpses file that is also created by PR/AME. That is the file that actually carries the chapters. You "import as timeline" the m2v/wav, and Encore reads the xmpses file.
I do not have CS4 loaded at the moment, so cannot test this regarding which type markers and whether named or not makes a difference.

  • Spry Menu issues in Internet Explorer

I have created a Spry menu for my website and although the menu appears to look fine in Firefox and Safari, the formatting changes in Internet Explorer(IE).
1.sub menu bar is not dropping down below the main menu bar it is appearing at the top of the screen.
2.When you hover over the sub menu bar items the font should be white however in IE it is appearing as an aqua color.
3.The menu bar is not straight across the page, at the beginning and end there are chunks of the menu bar that appear white.
Are there any fixes for these issues that would help to make the menu look consistent across all browsers.  The website page is
www.applmgt.net/LMNtestpage/html, below is the code.  Any help would be appreciated as soon as possible.

Hi Nadia thanks for your help in trying to fix the spry menus.
I am new to Dreamweaver and therefore would appreciate a bit more help with the issues you identified.
I did replace the doctype. As for removing the menu from a table and putting it into a div, would you be able to identify in the code below how I would do that?  Thanks

  • Javascript menu issues in Internet Explorer 7

Ever since Internet Explorer 7 came out I have suddenly been
having issues with javascript menus on a couple sites. The menus
work fine in Safari, Firefox (Mac & PC), as well as past
versions of Internet Explorer. The issue is with any item in the
menu that contains a hyphen - somehow the hyphen is being
misinterpreted by IE7. Either all text after the hyphen is not
visible (happened on one site), or it is interpreted as a line
break and all text after the hyphen gets knocked down to a second
    line.
Has anyone else had this problem, or know of a workaround for
    it?
    Thanks!
    janice

Solution found and tested. It works! You'll need to make a
minor change to the MM_Menu.js file. Click on this link to find out
more, on my file it was line 136 that needed to be changed:

  • Menu Issues in Chrome

Hello - I've seen a few other threads about the Contents/Index menus not displaying in IE 10... but I'm having the issue in Chrome (28.0.1500.71) and it's working fine in Firefox (22.0) and IE 9/10. Using RoboHelp 10. The Contents, Index, Search menu headers display, but the actual menus themselves do not, just a nice big white space. Since this only seems to be happening in chrome I'm guessing it's not the same issue that has been reported in IE 10... but please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Tested on multiple computers (all running the same version of Chrome) and all have the same behavior.
Any ideas or help is appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Try this link.
    http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/rh_tour/index.htm
There is no Index but see if TOC works. That was created with Rh10.
Also try generating an output from one of the sample projects. Click Open on the RoboHelp Starter page and then click Samples in the ribbon on the left.
I have also tested some locally installed help and that is OK.
Final test is to create a new project with just a few topics and see how that works.
Hopefully that will narrow things down to your project rather than the environment or Rh and we can progress from there.

  • 3 drop down menu issues

I have two issues here. www.newstribune.com. I know some of
this may be css issues, but I am aweful with css and could use a
cheat sheet for the css that dreamweaver makes for these drop down
menus, so I know what controls what...
    ok..
IE 6.0 will scroll out the drop down menu options but will
not allow the click... any ideas?
IE 7.0 renders the drop down menu's properly, but my front
page (and front page only) in firefox, the drop downs are off set.
    I have no idea why...
Please not that the drop downs were made into an include and
are rendered on all the pages. (It is a process so, you may find
some pages that don't have the new drop downs if you poke around a
    lot.)
lastly, if anyone knows what code I should strip out of the
drop down menu include in order to not cause the errors but still
allow it to be opened in Dreamweaver, can you please let me know?
If that is not possible, what should I remove? The entire code is
    below.

  • Menu Issue Mac OS 10.6.8

I have a user in the Marketing department using a MacBook Pro running Mac OS 10.6.8.
This morning without warning all of a sudden the menu behavior changed across the system. (IE: File, Edit, View, etc...)
It is working like I remember the old Mac OS 9 computers where you click File and hold the button down then scroll to the selection you'd like and release the button to select it. I would like to turn this off and set it back so you can just click file then click the option you want without having to hold the mouse button down.
I have tried a bluetooth mouse, an RF mouse, and a regular USB mouse. The behavior is the same for all of them. I have also tried logging into the computer with a different account and it seems to be a system wide setting and not a per user setting. I've messed around with the Universal Access panel, but none of the options are making a difference.
I know there is a preference loading somewhere causing this behavior because when you first log on the menus behave normally for 2 or 3 seconds before switching to their current state.
Randomly hot corners in Expose stopped working at the same time. Any thoughts?

    I figured it out!
It's the wireless Logitech mouse. Through all my testing I had left the RF receiver plugged in. As soon as I unplugged the receiver for the Logitech it started working normally again.
The Logitech mouse also works fine for a while if you unplug and replug. Perhaps this issue has something to do with it being plugged in as it comes out of sleep mode? Hmmm. Much testing to be done.

  • DVD Menu Issue

    Ok excellent, and just as a further point, if you have the time;
I am a little confused as to which dimensions I should use when creating a DVD menu in photoshop to use in Encore, to begin with I made one in 1920x1080 as I didn't realise DVDs could not be made in full HD.

Ok, however even if I switch project settings to BluRay, and create a new menu the font is all pixelated when it looks really crisp in Photoshop. What do you think the issue is?
It depends. You might want to post a screenshot. If the font is part of highlights, it is only 2 bit color. Also, if there is a motion background, Encore will render to the default transcode settings (part of the project settings).
Encore limits the viewing size for preview, as it should, so you don't make the window so large it is blowing it up. You are looking at the preview and not the menu monitor window?

  • Rollover Pop Up Menu Issue

I have 16 buttons with pop up sub menus that appear when
rolled over. I am using 16 different 2 frame movie clips with the
collapsed version in frame 1 and the expanded version in frame 2.
When the user either rolls off the submenu or enters the area
between the buttons there is a script telling all the movie clips
to go to frame 1. My issue is that the expanded images stick on the
screen if the user quickly goes from one button to the other. If
the user rollovers over one of the stuck images it goes away. Is
there a way for Flash to redraw the stage to avoid this or keep
checking if the stage needs to be updated?

    1. Include an "on mouse out" event to handle the event of
    exiting the menu area
    2. and/or create an invisible button that surrounds the
outside of the menu area to triger the menu to close.

  • Fireworks Pop Up Menu Issue in Dreamweaver

Hi I have built a pop up/dropdown menu in Fireworks. This menu bar is for a site that I built using dreamweaver. I exported the menu bar in fireworks and then inserted it into dreamweaver but when I do this the button images are missing. Instead of images (of the menu bar categories), there are gray boxes in the shape of the picture (category/button image).
I had this issue before and was able to correct it. I am not sure what I did though. Nothing seems to be working, since I am unaware of how I actually fixed it, I can't figure out how to fix it again.
When I preview the file in fireworks, it looks fine and everything seems to work. When I insert the html file into dreamweaver, I have this issue with the menu bar images. The weird thing is that it is only the button images. I do have this site published and I have uploaded all of the files but the pictures still do not show. The link to this site is www.pariswyattllansoart.com. (the site is still under construction obviously).
The menu bar works fine otherwise. The only issue is that the up and over images for the buttons of the menu bar do not show in dreamweaver or on the published site. Even the images that make up the rest of the menu bar show. If you check the site out, you will see what I mean.
Thanks for your help in advance!

Thanks you!!! Your advice was so helpful. First of all thank you for pointing out how I should be saving my files. Because of your advice, I thought I would watch the tutorial again and pay attention to exactly how he was saving his document. I was saving the doc like this: Menu Bar, now I know that I need to save this file like this: menuBar_file and it works wonderfully. The files have to be saved in a folder in the local directory. Also because of how I was saving things, I realized that I had a few other problems with DW. I fixed those issues and DW works wonderfully.
Also here is something else that I learned from this. Once I got the images working, the dropdown/popup menus where no longer working. The issue was that I was trying to insert the FW dropdown menu into a document that had already been saved as a template. If you do this, there is not enough room for all of the code, so the remedy is to insert the menu bar into an html doc. and then save it as a template.
Thanks so much again. I have learned so much.

  • CSS Dropdown Menu Issue in Contribute

    Hello everyone,
My name is Boris and I have these question related to the
    Adobe Contribute.
I'm working on a client web site where there is a CSS drop
down menu that works in all the browsers. Which works perfectly in
all the browsers without use of JavaScript. However, the issue
comes when you use Contribute and it simply shows the entire drop
down menu all incorrectly and overall design gets all wrong because
of that. I was wondering if anyone had similar problem and has a
solution for it or if there is a way to make code hidden just to
Contribute?? I would very much welcome any help with this issue.
Thank you everyone and have a great weekend. :-)

    I've figured it.
Just so anyone else who is experiencing this knows - i
    changed all the
margin-left properties to just 'left' and made the position
    relative. For
some reason Contribute didn't recognise the margin-left
    property at all.
Strange. It now displays exactly the same in dreamweaver,
    contribute, ie,
    firefox...etc.
    Thanks for your post Lime.

  • URGENT HELP: Menu Issue

    Hello,
I am using captivate 2 and will be updating to 3 shrtly. I
have an issue with the menu feature. If i want a menu I can only
get a drop down which appears on top left, center or right. I would
prefer a menu where I can list all the chapters on the left hand
column so users can follow a project and jump fwd or back through
chapters. How can i get this? Is there another adobe flash or menu
skin product which I can import my captivate project into to get
this feature. I notice this is possible for breeze. sample:
    http://www.h1solution.com/visa/olp/flash/part2/380545/index.html
    . Please help, much appreciated.
    cheers,
    Mosh

    Welcome to our community, Mosh
To accomplish this you will need to rely on resources
    external to Captivate. Possibilities include:
    1. If you have multiple Captivate movies to present, you
could use a "Flash Wrapper" to present them. One is provided free
    of charge at
    this
    link.
An update for that also appears at
    this
    link.
    2. You could design your own menu as part of the slide
    design.
    3. You could purchase a template from KC Web Plaza that has
navigation like this pre-constructed and save the steps of number 2
    above.

  • Planning Web Form Menu Issues 9.3.1

I have upgraded a Planning application from 3.51 to 9.3.1 and after the migration everything works except the custom menus created for the web forms. More specifically, the menu item URL seems to fail because 9.3.1 passes the application name as part of the URL. For example, the URL in the menu is used to access documentation for the application. The entry is defined as follows:
URL /HyperionPlanning/custom/docs/Product_Doc.pdf and the option to open in a new window is selected.
When the menu option is selected by right-clicking from within a Web form Planning 9.3.1 attempts to open the URL as http://server:port/HyperionPlanning/custom/docs/Product_Doc.pdf&Application=AppName where AppName is the name of the planning application. In version 3.51, planning simply opened up the URL in a new window as http://server:port/HyperionPlanning/custom/docs/Product_Doc.pdf
Why does Planning insist on including the appname in the URL? Has anyone encountered this before?
Thanks for an input that could asist with resolving this.

    Hi,
It shouldn't be doing that, I tested it and it is working, though I am using a patched up version of planning 9.3.1
Maybe it is a bug and has been fixed in one of the patches, it also worth patching planning as many issues have been addressed in 9.3.1
The latest patch is 9.3.1.1.10 and available from metalink3
    Cheers

  • Mouse/Dock/Menu Issues

About 6 months ago, I had weird issues with my mouse that affected the dock, hot corners, menu actions and hyperlinks. I repaired permissions repeatedly, threw away preference files left and right and just when I thought it was hopeless everything returned to normal ... until recently.
The one preference file I can't find though is one for keyboards and or mice- is the fact I can't find that file the key to this issue? And if so how do I restore it or recreate it without a complete system reinstall, especially since I didn't have to resort to that last time?

    Hi Aviwolf,
Did you Verify and/or Repair the Disk before Repairing Permissions?
There are more than one file(s?) that contain that info, depending on what tab you use.
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for action in Safe Mode...
    Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it is some 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...
    /private/var/run/StartupItems
    /Library/StartupItems
    /System/Library/StartupItems
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.
Let us know what is happening.

  • Responsive Drop Down Menu Issues

I'm having a few issues with my responsive drop down menu.  I'm trying to make one row with 2 separate menus that show up next to each other.  The left side is general a menu and the right side is social media links.  I have them functioning with 2 major issues.  First, I can't seem to get my background (black) go across the entire page.  It stops between the 2 menus.  Second, When I shrink down to a phone size browser and replace the menu with a drop down menu, my images (I'm using images instead of text so that I can use a specific font) expand to fit the space.  I want them all to show up as the proper size and want the drop down menu to be right next to the social media links.  Here's a link to the page so you can see what I am talking about.  My HTML and CSS are below.  Thanks.
