MenuBar in Accordion
Hi,
I've been exploring the option of switching to spry for my
web application but I've run into a bit of a snag.
I'm trying to integrate a SpryMenuBar into an SpryAccordion
and there seems to be a problem as to visibility. Whatever the
state of the Accordion the Menu is displayed over other parts of
the Accordion.
I was wondering if anyone has any idea, I'm thinking it might
be something with the "position:attribute" but I don't wanna mess
to much with the code as to break it.
Does anyone have any idea as to where I should start looking?

This is know IE bug. After the DOM is computed, when the
position properties on elements are applied the elements that are
"relative" are extracted from the page flow exactly like the
position "absolute" elements and attached directly to the document
owner tag. Because of this issue the overflow and other properties
applied on the real, logical parent element stop functioning as it
should. The element is painted over the parent element even if the
parent element has the overflow hidden or set to auto .
This bug as you discovered can't be *fixed* through
z-indexing. The only solution is to set the position to the parent
element to the same value as the child has even if you don't
specify a top and a left so the parent stay in the same place as
without positioning. In this situation the browser will extract the
entire group of elements from the normal flow and they start to
behave correctly. The rest of the browsers are working correctly in
both situation as far as I tested this problem in the past.

Spry MenuBar/TabbedPanels/Accordion Javascript Not Working in IE8
As you've heard, Adobe removed the links to the Spry API files (http://blogs.adobe.com/dreamweaver/2012/08/update-on-adobe-spry-framework-availability.htm l).
My question is: If I link to a remote file, then my spry menu bar/accordion/etc. work in IE 8 properly. If I link to a local file (same content as the remote file though!!), then my spry menu bar/etc. don’t work on IE 8.
Because the remote files are no longer available on Adobe's API site, I had to change all my links and make it linked to SpryAssets/SpryMenuBar (for instance) on my local web server instead. HOWEVER, this doesn't work for IE8.
Why is that? WHy is it necessary to link to a remote file? http://spry-it.appspot.com/ works for me too because it’s remote (however, the file accordion is not available it seems!). But what if they change their link again in the future or remove the link?
Please help!

Personally, I never liked Spry. I've been using jQuery for quite some time.
If you want to get it done fast with professional results, look at Project Seven's products. They are rigorously tested to perform well in modern devices. If you need it, their customer support is excellent.

My Spry Accordion will not work In IE but will in Opera
Hi Everyone,
I'm having a problem with my accordion spry widget in a website that I'm working on. Bear in mind theres's a lot of things to fix but it's in the initial stages. What happens is, if you go under the heading, business and then training you will see an FAQ section. You'll notice that the tabs are all open and it's just not functioning correctly in IE, Chrome and Firefos but it is working in Chrome. (I Haven't tried in Safari as my computer freezes ??) I've included the link and code below.

The latest version of the Adobe Spry Framework is 1.6.1, this is the same version that ships with Dreamweaver CS4. If you use Dreamweaver CS3 (uses Spry 1.4), its wise to upgrade your files to the latest version. This can easily be done using the Spry Updater that can be found here.
If you replace

Spry Accordion Hover/Active Issue
I have designed a spry accordion widget for a FAQ page and within Dreamweaver CS6 it is fully functional. The color I've selected doesn't occur with a hover or an active tab once EVERYTHING is uploaded. Below is a live link to the problem page, my Spry CSS and layout CSS as well as a screenshot of the proper functionality occuring in Dreamweaver. Thoughts?

I'm having a lot of trouble with my accordion. It is a long list of panels, so you have to scroll to see the bottom. The problem is, any time you click a tab, it throws you back up to the top of the page. I want it to stay on the tab the person clicks. Can someone help me with this? Even if it is possible to have the Accordion stay where it is (and I have no doubt that it can be done), there are better ways of designing your layout without having to scroll down.
Reduce the height of the tab image. I tried at 20px high and the whole Accordion was visible
Classify the Accordion topics and spread them over several pages
Create a master/detail area in lieu of an Accordion
Create a Tabbed Panels area with the tabs on the left side in lieu of an Accordion
These are just some suggestions which will hopefully help.

Spry Accordion Panels view incorrect in IE8
I have a page set up using both spry menu and spry accordion panels. The problem is that in FireFox and Chrome, the pages view as they should. However, in IE, the panels on the accordion spread and are open, it doesn't view as it should. The test page is here www.sbcvote.us/index1.html the source code is below. I appreciate any help here, it really doesn't make sense to me, it did work for a few viewing in IE and I must have changed something by mistake?
Thanks again.I added a set width to the accordion css and that solved the problem of the widget running across the page. The IE issue appears to be an ongoing issue with IE. If a viewer has IE8, then hitting the compatibility button on the menu bar will solve the viewing problem. If not, it doesn't view correctly. It views fine on other browsers (Chrome, etc). Problem is how many people will know to hit the compatibility button?

I'd like to know if anybody has tried to rebuild the adobe
spry gallery (china,egypt,paris) but using a spry menubar or a spry
accordion to navigate from one gallery to another. The gallery
should than be accessed from the submenu items using the nested
data utility. Everything display correctly but it's not possible to
access the right gallery from within the submenus/nesteddata:

</div>My problem was that I couldn't bind the var from the outside table to the value of the inside table. It wouldn't process it and iterate through the collection. I solved the problem by using the Tomahawk data list tag.

Accordion-Toggle Open and Close
I apologize if this has been covered before, but I checked
and couldn't find a solution. I'd like the accordion to toggle
between open and close the same panel. Right now, when I click on

Can you show applications open directly in menubar instead of dock?
Hi there
I want to disable dock totally
But I want to get the functionality in my menu bar
So i want to show icons of the apps which are open (or at least favourite apps), directly on the menubar
I don't want them in a folder, I already have an app which does that called xMenu
I want the actual icons of the Favourite/IfPossible:OPEN apps to directly appear in menubar
Is there anything that can get some/all of this functionality?Well, there probably is; however, a word of caution: the Menu bar is controlled by the System and it may have undesirable results changing system behavior.
What is it about the dock that bothers you?
I have all the apps I use on a regular basis in the dock - not a folder, mind you - alias icons to the apps themselves which all open with one click. I rarely use the system supplied Applications folder in the dock. At last count, I had almost 60 app icons in the dock, which is minimized with significant magnification - I have them organized so I can usually hit the right one without having to search. You can also check "automatically show and hide the Dock" so it'll only show itself when moving the cursor over the area. -
The menubar will not display in full screen
Hi.
I have a strange problem in fullscreen mode, on my Macbook pro 15"
I LOVE fullscreen, and infact the next macbook I will get is the 11" air because of its size and because full screen is so nice to work with.
But I have a strange problem which I can't find a solution for.
Suddenly the menubar will not display it self when I move the mouse to the top of the screen. The only way I can access the menu bar is by exiting full screen (ctrl + Cmd + F) and the toggel it back on after I have used the menubar
This actually makes fullscreen mode useless and its driving me nuts, because this should not happen on Apple software. I would expect these sorts of behaviour on windows but not in osx.

Try this: make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences. -
I can not find (see) the Data Control Accordion

I cannot find (see) the Data Control Accordion, I just installed the Jdeveloper 11g (Oracle JDeveloper 11g (11.1.1.2.0) - November 2009) from this link http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/htdocs/soft11.html
I started a new ADF BC application, but I cannot find the data control accordion to drag and drop the components I created in the application model. Is there anything I must do after installation (post installation), is there any libraries need to be installed? Please, I need a help to create my application, I’m totally stuck, many thanks for any help.

Many thanks for your reply, kindly find attached screenshots for the two installation of Jdeveloper 11g I have (release 1 & 2), it shows clearly that the “Data Control” is available for release 1, but not available for release 2, even we are talking about the same application!
Regarding the “JDeveloper\system11.1.1.2.36.55.36”, I’m not sure if I have it (attached a list of directories installed), I was not able to find it under my installation directory, therefore I can’t answer your question, but please advise if it could be the reason, how I may have it, do you think there is something wrong with the installation? I noticed that some persons having the same problem before me, so what was wrong, and how they solve it? I appreciate any help please, many thanks.

Spry Accordion doesn't work properly
I uploaded the site the other night and it worked out just fine. I made a change in some spacing between two words and added a letter to a word. AIAS Minnesota is a student group at the University of Minnesota for anyone with an interest in Architecture. We hold biweekly meetings where we invite influential speakers to come and inform us about issues pertaining to architecture. We also attend local events such as firm crawls, participate in design charrettes, and use our design skills to help out community members in need through our Freedom by Design team. AIAS Minnesota is part of a national group that holds regional "quad" conferences twice yearly, and a national "forum" held every year, over the weekend of New Year's Eve.<br />

Accordion not showing up at all in IE6
I have a standard accordion set up at
www.taradeal.com/pow.html
and it works fine in Safari and Firefox, but does not show up at
all in IE6 (the initial load of the text bits flashes up, but the
Spry re-work of the code seem to fail). I'm using Spry 1.6.1,
freshly updated for DW CS3.
The accordion display a standard RSS XML.

Thanks for any pointers on what's wrong.
-danWell, it seems to be a bug in the handling of the XML file
contents. I fixed it by changing the code in SpryData.js to force a
"manual" parse of the XML code. Not a good solution, but I don't
know the codebase well enough to find the root of the problem. I
know that the firstChild.nodeValue is "Object required" but I can't
figure out who sets that and why. Maybe no ActiveX object?

I have a problem with the MenuBar and a question to delete a
component out of storage.
1. We have implemented the MenuBar, which was filled
dynamically with XML data.
Sporadically it will appear following fault, if we "mousover"
the root layer.

2. Delete a component out of storage
We have some own components (basically forms), which will be
created and shown by an construct e.g.

Some of our forms will be created in an popup. On every call
of the popup, we lost 5 mb or more, all childs on the windows will
be removed by formname.removeAllChild();
What cann we do, that the garbage collector will dispose this
objects.
Is there a way to show all objects with references (NOT
NULL)?
I have read in the Flex Help, that
this.removeChild(myComponent) not delete the form and/or object out
of the storage.
Rather the object must be destroyed.
It is sufficient to call delete(myComponent) about remove
this object out of the storage as the case may be that the
garbage-collector remove this object at any time?
Or how can I destroy a component correctly. What happens with
the widgets on this component e.g. input fields or datagrids?
Are they also being deleted?

MatzeIf you mena the "photo Library" then you cannot delete it.
This is how iphone handles photos. There are not two copies. There a re simply two places from which to access the same photos. ALL photos synced to iphone can be accessed via Photo Library. Those same pics can be accessed via their individual folder.

Camera Connection Kit and MIDI keyboard: device not supported
