Merging data from 2 schemas with same object structure into one schema

Hi
I want to merge data from 2 schemas in different environments ( say test1 and test 2) into 1 schema ( say Test_final) for testing. Both these schemas are having same structure, the data can be same or different.
What I did is that I took an export of schema on Test1 and then import it into Test_final. Now I need to merge/append data from Test2 into Test_final.
I can not merge the data with import due to primary key constraints and also import doesnt support this feature, so I tried SQL*Loader to "append" the data by using sequence to generate Primary key.
But my worries are that since new primary keys are generated so foreign keys will become invalidated and the data will not be consistent.
Is there any other way to do this task..

This approach might be better...
create table test_final
as
select *
from schema1.test1
insert into test_final
select t2.* from schema2.test1 , test_final tf
where t2.pk != tf.pk
/...assuming duplicate primary keys mean duplicate records. If that assumption is not the case then you have a more complex data migration exercise on your hands and you need to figure out some rules to determine which version of the data takes precedence.

iTunes identifies an album by its name. If there is more than one album with the same name then iTunes will see it as one album. As you have found you have to give them different names.

Collating PDFs with similar table structure into one excel / text file

Hi, I'm using Adobe Acrobat X v10.1.1. I have multiple PDFs which aswell as containing pictures, contain the same table of data in each one. This is in the same format in each one and I want to extract each table's data and collate into one text file(This is a small table of data, 3 x 3). I explored the option of exporting FDF data and then using a 3rd party tool to convert all into an excel file, however, the forms option in my tools menu won't expand. I am possible making this more difficult for myself than is necessary. Has anyone attempted something similar before and what would recommendations of approach be?

Retrieving Data from different Tables with same tuple name

Hi,
I am made the following query from different tables. A tuple "name" is appearing in some tables. So when I run the qiery in a Java class, it delivers the same result of c.name, bpl.name and p.name. The result of c.name is correct, but the other 2 names are overwritten. It works perfect in a postgreSql query tool. How can I correct it, plz?

create alias, if u have similar field names as below. Use the alias name (rs.getString("cname") and rs.getString("bpname") and so on ) to retrive data.

Why has mail on the ipad grouped several emails from different people with different subject matter into one thread?

This is really annoying.
The email initially started with me sending to one person. Which we then conversed several times without any issues.
I then sent a separate email completely unrelated to someone on a completely different email address, but when they replied back somehow their reply joined the same thread as this other email i sent initially.
Thinking that it might be a one of... I ignored it.
However, just now, an email i created through the LinkedIn app, which i sent from LinkedIn to a contact, somehow joined that first thread, when the person on linked in replied back to me.
Obviously i receive an email to my Mail account whenever someone messages me on linked in... But why on earth would that reply automatically get grouped into the completely different thread of emails?
I NOW have emails to three different people who are completely unrelated with three completely unrelated subjects, that are appearing in one thread with no obvious way to separate these.
Any solutions or suggestions? I've tried to move them, but it will only let me move the the messages into different folders, and not my inbox as separate messages.

Thanks for the response. Regarding your question, Yes, I have confirmed that people were receiving multiple copies.
I've confirmed this as I had left a Gmail message open on my browser window and opened that same message from Mail: As I was writing the response from Mail, without sending anything, new notifications started to appear over the same message in the browser window, notifying me there were new messages from Myself! So when I started to open those "new replies", I came to the conclusion that as I was typing, a draft was being saved and sent as a new message at the same time, therefore sending a lot of emails until I finished to write the message without knowing...
Hard to explain but hope I've made my point.

Merging data from SAP BEx queries with SQL - Keys are details not Dimension

I have a challenge when trying to merge data from a BEx query and a relational source in SQL Server.
I have a characteristic for Material, with an associated Material key that is a attribute of Material in the BEx query. On the SQL side I have a Material ID which is they unique identifier.
So when you Merge Dimensions in a WebI report, it is exactly that merging dimensions, so you link Material from BEx and Material ID from SQL. However, on the Bex side Material displays a long text field which will never join to the data from SQL which is an ID. The like for like objects are Material Key in BEx and Material ID in SQL, however, as Material Key from BEx is an attribute to manifests itself in WebI via a universe as a Detail object, which makes it unavailable for merging.
I have tried to set the Material characteristic to display as KEY in the BEx query design, but alas it still comes through as a long text, hence still not able to merge data sets.
Any workarounds ??

Hi Andrew,
In universe designer, edit the material key detail object. Copy the text that refers to the characteristic attribute in your BEx query. Create a new dimension (say, 'Material Key') and paste this text as the definition.
Essentially you're turning a detail object into a dimension, which (in my limited experience) works just fine.
Let me know how you go.

If you had configure server2 as
linked server on the server1, you can run the following statement inside stored proceduce to copy table data. And then create a job to the run stored proceduce every 4 hours.
Insert Into Server2.Database2.dbo.Table2
(Cols)
Select Cols From Server1.Database1.dbo.Table1
Or you can use the SQL Server Import and Export Wizard to export the data from server1 to server2, save the SSIS package created by the wizard on the SQL Server, create a job to run the SSIS package.

Hi all - I'm trying to write an Expert in OWB that would read data from a table and create a new table based on that information. I have the table creation part down, but how can I read data from a table with an Expert? From what I've read, Experts only deal with metadata, and there is no mechanism in Experts to actually read data in the tables. Does OraTcl work in Experts? Has anyone ever came across this problem, and if so, how did you solve it? Thanks in advance for your time! - Don

Lets say the BAPI name is BAPI_XX_GETLIST and the table names are ET_TABLE1(Field1, Field2, Field3) and ET_TABLE2 (FieldA, FieldB). You have display the fields of ET_TABLE1 (Field1, Field2, Field3) and one field from ET_TABLE2 (FieldB). "FieldA" id the key field.
Create a value node (vnField) under the model node table ET_TABLE1 with cardinality 1:1. Create a value attribute (vaFieldB). For "vnField" create a supply function (supplyfunction). If you goto the implementation you can see a method "supplyVnField(IPrivateCO_ComponentName.IVnFieldNode node, IPrivateCO_ComponentName.IET_Table1Element parentElement)".
Write the following code in the implementation.

Problem in loading data from flat file to info object

Hi experts,
I am new on bw. I am trying to load data from .csv file to info object. CSV file contains two colums Mat No, Mat Name and are separated by comma and similarly Mat Name is attribute of Mat No in info object. I am doing all steps by following the book but whenever I load data into info object it is loaded in one column. I mean both Mat no and Mat name apears in Mat No column whereas Mat Name column appears empty in info object. I have changed exel file into .csv. Any one can help me sort it out.

Hi,
your flatfile should be in the form of csv ie it does not mean that in a word u seperate it with coma
create an excel file and say save as in teh file name give the name of your flatfile and in the save as type select CSV(comma delimited) from the drop down list
and then in this file enter the data as u fill in excel sheet.
After closing the file right click it and say open with wordpad then the data should appear seperated with a comma.
Try this and then revert back in case of any doubts.........
Are u loading data into BI 7.0 or 3.x

Yes, Each have their own Query and have some common dimension for the Results Sections to be joined together in a final query.
