Message mapping of sort and repeated

Dear all,
I am new to SAP XI. I have a scenario where my Input message and out put message will be like this:
Input Messgae:                                                    Output Message:
Emp_DT                                                               EmpOut_DT
Info - Element - 1-infinity                                     EmpInfo           1-1
  Department ID  1-1                                                Manager      1-1
Details 1-1                                                           Department      1-Infinity
  EMpNO 1-1                                                            NoofEmployee 1-1
  Manager 1-1                                                          Department   1-infinity
Ihave to map by following rules:
1. Sort output message by taking inputmessage Details- Manager
2. Have to count totla no of employee of respective manager
3. have to check how many department under that manager.
Thanks in advance.

Also, check out the SDN Wiki's. There are a good number of examples out there.

  • Message Mapping(Display queue and Suppress Value)

    Hi Experts,
In Message Mapping(graphical mapping), upon checking the properties of the nodes, there's one property display queue, in which suppress is there??
What does it mean?? Which queue it points and what value is suppressed??
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sushama

    Hi Sushama,
    SUPPRESS means no value.
suppose we are checking one condition (tdid = "RE" then pass tdline) based on the condition we will send one output. if the condition fails then suppress value goes to the target.
    > What does it mean?? Which queue it points and what value is suppressed??
es:  if(tdid.equals("WE") ifwithoutelse pass tdline value as output.    [tdid is in E1EDKA1 segment and this segment occurance is multiple]
In this case if the condition is satisfied once and failed once (means E1EDKT1 segment comes 2 times) then first time it sends the corresponding tdline value and second time it sends the SUPPRESS value.

  • Message Mapping-Generating Headers and corresponding Line items in 1 file

    Hi,
I am working on JDBC to File scenario.
There is a staging table in SQL Server. XI polls the table every 20 secs and picks up all the data with flag = 0. After fetching the records it sets the flag to 1 so that the same data do not get fetched the next time.
The record have one Bill No and there can be more than 1 line items associated with that bill no.
The target structure is as follows:
    Record          1
       Bill No          0...unbounded
       Line item     1
            Line items    0...unbounded
Now the requirement is to generate a file with header and all the corresponding line items below it.  That is one file can have many headers but all the line items should succeed its corresponding header.
I have written a UDF to generate the same.
    For Bill No.:
    Bill No -> RemoveContext -> Sort - > UDF -> SplitBy Value -> CollapseContext
UDF just removes the duplicate Bill No and generates the list.
Now the issue is if Bill No as per source is 8,4,1,3 then the ones getting generated in the target str is in the same order as it is in source that is 8,4,1,3. But  I want this in the sorted order ie. 1,3,4,8. Althoug I have used Sort func, its not getting generated.
    Please help.

    chk this:

  • Hi , friends pls explain abap mapping and message mapping

    1) pls explain abap mapping and message mapping
       send me screen shorts also.

    Hi
    Mapping Techniques
XI provides 3 standard ways of interface mapping between source and target.
    Graphical mapping
    Java Mapping
    XSLT Mapping
Two more additional mapping types can be activated in XI by making changes to the exchange profile. Those two mappings are
    ABAP mapping
    XSLT mapping with ABAP Extensions
    Graphical Mapping
Graphical mapping is a common approach followed by everyone for generating desired target structure. It involves simple drag-n-drop to correlate respective nodes (fields) from source and target structure. It hardly involves coding. (Exception - User defined functions). But sometimes with graphical mapping it is difficult to produce required output. For example ... text/html output, namespace change, sorting or grouping of records etc.
    ABAP Mapping
A person comfortable with Object Oriented ABAP can go for ABAP mapping instead.
    Java Mapping
Java Mapping uses 2 types of parsers. DOM and SAX. DOM is easier to use with lots of classes to help you create nodes and elements, but , DOM is very processor intensive.
SAX parser is something that parses your XML one after the other, and so is not processor intensive. But, it is not exaclty easy to develop either.
    XSLT Mapping
One can also think of Java mapping as another option but it is a bit complex and required knowledge of Java. In such cases, XSLT mapping can be the best approach to meet the requirements.
A few example cases in which an XSLT mapping can be used:-
When the required output is other than XML like Text, Html or XHTML (html displayed as XML)
When default namespace coming from graphical mapping is not required or is to be changed as per requirements.
When data is to be filtered based on certain fields (considering File as source)
When data is to be sorted based on certain field (considering File as source)
When data is to be grouped based on certain field (considering File as source)\
    Advantages of using XSLT mapping
XSLT program itself defines its own target structure.
XSLT programs can be imported into SAP XI. Message mapping step can be avoided. One can directly go for interface mapping once message interfaces are created and mapping is imported.
XSLT provides use of number of standard XPath functions that can replaces graphical mapping involving user defined java functions easily.
File content conversion at receiver side can be avoided in case of text or html output.
Multiple occurrences of node within tree (source XML) can be handled easily.
XSLT can be used in combination with graphical mapping.
Multi-mapping is also possible using xslt.
XSLT can be used with ABAP and JAVA Extensions.
    Disadvantages of using XSLT mapping
Resultant XML payload can not be viewed in SXMB_MONI if not in XML format (for service packs < SP14).
Interface mapping testing does not show proper error description. So errors in XSLT programs are difficult to trace in XI but can be easily identified outside XI using browser.
XSLT mapping requires more memory than mapping classes generated in Java.
XSLT program become lengthier as source structure fields grows in numbers.
XSLT program sometimes become complex to meet desired functionality.
Some XSL functions are dependent on version of browser.
    Different types of Mappings
    MAPPING SUPPORTED BY XI
Message Mapping -> Graphical Design and testing environment. Default Provided By XI. Queue based modelling allow handling or large documents. Extensible via user defined functions
XSLT Mapping - > Based on openstandard, Portable across application platform, Extensible using user defined functions kewl but disadvantage is Memory overload while handling large documents.
SAX -> Simple Api For XML. -> Allows you to parse through a XML document. Doesn't consume any memory. But the message can be parsed only once from top to bottom. It Has evolved by contributions made by group of ppl itz a open architecture.
DOM -> Document Object Model -> Itz designed by W3C. Consumes Memory as the message will be loaded. Allows parsing of document in both way top down and bottom up.
Send me your email id.Shall send you very good docs for both ABAP Mapping and message mapping.
    Thanks

  • Caching values between different executions of a message mapping

    Hi all
Like global container object is used for caching values between different user defined functions
    within the same message mapping.
Can v have some sort of cachingvalues
between simultaneos exceutions of same message mapping?
    Thanks and Regards
    Bhasker

    Hi Bhasker raj,
This facility is there if you are using seeburger adapters.
YOu can use something called seeburger variables which can hold the data beyong the mapping in some permanent memory.
Alternatively, you can think of creating a ZTABLE in the ABAP stack of XI and storing the data you want in it, using a UDF and get it back in another UDF.
YOu can use the first UDF at last node/field in the message mapping and the
secomd UDF in the first node/field in the mapping.

  • Message Mapping- 3 problems

    Hi,
1)I need some information regarding Message Mapping. I need to map the field TDLINE of segment E1EDKT2 of IDOC ORDERS05 to the target fields. But based upon the index number of the record of this segment, I must map it to different fields (eg.E1EDKT2[10], E1EDKT2[3]). How can I incorporate this in Message Mapping?
2)And one more scenario is as follows.Use PARTN if exists or use LIFNR to map to target and it must satisfythe conidtion PARVW = AG. Should we need Java code or can we achieve this using two 'If' conditions.
3)We are looping at a source segment and it has multiple  occurances. How to create multiple segments in target based on condition.
    Can anyone help me.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

    > Mapping?
You can use the index function (with SP13):
    E1EDKT2* - index
                      equalS
        constant(10) /
                             ifWithoutElse - target
    TDLINE - removeContexts /
    check the correct context

    > satisfy the conidtion PARVW = AG. Should we need Java
    > code or can we achieve this using two 'If'
    > conditions.
Sure you can chain if statements:
            PARVW
                  equalS
    constant(AG) /
                         ifWithoutElse
                  PARTN /
                       PARTN - exist - if - target
                                  LIFNR
This mapping assumes, that PARVW = AG is available, when PARTN is available.
    > 3)We are looping at a source segment and it has
    > multiple  occurances. How to create multiple
    > segments in target based on condition.
    Here is a pattern:
    condition - createIf - target
condition has to be a queue of true and false with the same occurrency as source.
All sub nodes of source are now arranged correctly under the target node.

  • UDF for leading zero's in message mapping

    Dear team,
I need UDF for leading zero's in my message mapping.
Source and Target both structures contains matnr field. But we have to maintain total 18 chars at target matnr , because RFC in R/3 needed. So I want to add leading zero's when mapping. Can anybody provide the UDF code.
    Matnr[source]--->split by value(eachvalue) ->UDF->Matnr[Target]
Ex::if source matnr conatains value "9846538" ; I need matnr value at target side like "000000000009846538"[total 18 chars].

  • Message Mapping vs Interface Mapping test tabs giving different results.

    Hi all,
I am developing an interface that always requires an output file to be created (even if there is no data).  I have found a way to change my select statement in the JDBC sender to initiate the message even if there isn't any data (using UNION select -1 ID, '' col1, '' col2, etc.) and that seems to work fine.  I then put logic in the message mapping to suppress the row that contains the -1 ID value, which would result in an empty file when there is no other data, and should result in a file containing only the correct data when there is data.
So, my problem: I am always getting empty files with this logic.  I tested the logic in the message mapping test tab and it worked perfectly, however when I test it using the interface mapping test tab it results in what becomes an empty file!
My source and destination structures are fairly simple:
    Root
    --row
    ID
    col1
    col2
The logic I use to suppress the ID = -1 row is:
    =removeContexts([]ifWithoutElse([keepss=true]Not([]equalsS([]ID, Constant([value=-1]))), SplitByValue([type=Each value]row)))
Obviously, I'm stumped - any help would be appreciated!

  • Use Message Mapping to repeat top node and split Message

I am currently using XSLT Messaging to do majority of the mapping. I have two issues that remain, I need to repeat the top node for each or its child elements and split the message.
    <Sensor xmlns="namespace">
      <Observation>
        <XML>Some Data</XML>
    </Observation
    </Sensor>
    1. Can it be done in XSLT? I posted a thread asking for help on this. Where I would need to repeat the Sensor tag for each observation. If this is possible then I will able to split the messages at the HTTP adapter used for the target system.
    2. Can Message Mapping be used. Using the same xsd on both source and target systems, Will sensor repeat if set to 1:n and observation set to 1:1. In source it is Sensor 1:1, Observation 1:n.  If this works then I can use a BPM to shoot out individual messages using a for each.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I am fairly new to XI as this is my first major project. Thanks

  • Repeate Message after RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation

    Hello Experts,
I have a mapping defined with a UDF. In the mapping editor the tests were successfull but in the reale world - of course not
Now I have a message in the Integration Server with red flag because of
com.sap.aii.utilxi.misc.api.BaseRuntimeException: RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation: Runtime exception during processing target field mapping /LIST/S_UNB/S_UNH/G_SSG18/S_GID/C_C213/D_7224. The message is: Exception:[java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "__cC_"]
I've located the error in the UDF and want to repeate the message with the new mapping. But again the same error although the test in the mapping tool (with the original payload) was successfull.
It must be possible to repeate those messages but how?
    Thanks a lot.
    Christian

This was a little bit strange. But after the import, the version of the mapping in PROD was different from TEST.
I've changed the description Field of the Mapping in Test, activated the version and did the export/import again. Now the versions were the same and after repeating the message everything is o.k.
    THANKS ALL FOR YOUR HELP!

  • I need to sort the incoming file contents before message mapping

    Hi All,
I have requirement like i have to sort the file contents before message mapping in Xi. is there any option please suggest me with your value information.i dont want to sort in message mapping before that i want file contents to be sorted order.waiting for your quick reply.
    Thanks,
    seshagiri

    Hi,
You can do this in one scenario.
Lets say you have MT_Source and MT_Target as two message types.
Now your MM1 will be between MT_Source & MT_Source, that is same message type. Here you built your sorting logic.
Now create MM2, between MT_Source & MT_Target. Here your actual mapping logic will be implemented. The input payload for MM2 will be sorted data.
Now in operation mapping, first call MM1 and then call MM2 (You have a plus + sign to add multiple mapping programs). Due to this sequence, at run time first MM1 will be executed and after that its oupt will be given to MM2 as source payload.
Hope its clear. Plz let me know if you have any doubts.

  • File to file with out message mapping and using variable substitution

    Hi,
Can any one send me a scenario where we can have file to file scenario with out message mapping and where i can use variable substitution.
As of now i am using integrate configurations where i cant use variable substitution as the message does not reflect in integration engine. I need to populate time stamp between <filename><timestamp>.txt.pgp
I am as of now using configuration scenario.
The time stamp always writes before the last file extension.
    Let me know your thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Chandra.

    Hi Chandra,
u can use the Variable substitution even without IR contents also(Mapping....).
in the receiver communication channel just specify the path u want to access for a value...
    eg: filename                             payload:mt_name,1,records,1,name,1
and in th file name give it as %filename%.txt... or vt ever ur requirement

  • Message Mapping ...  ABAP ,XSLT and JAVA

    HI Friends
I have a general question ... but it will confuse me a lot ....
my question is we have four types of message mappings
    1) GUI ( and UDFs)
    2) ABAP
    3)XSLT
    4) JAVA
when we have plenty of options in GUI (and User defined functions also)  to define sender 2 receiver message mapping
then what is need of JAVA,ABAP and XSLT Message Mapping and when we use these message mappings( exactly in which situation) and difference b/w them
    Thanks in Advance
    Mahesh

    Green = recommended
    Yellow = Acceptable
    Red = not recommended
    In my experience.
XSLT mapping: is confotable to convert to another format different to xml(when we do not have a complex logic)
Java Mapping: is to implement complex logics(but the maintainbilityis not good...you need a external tool)
ABAP mapping: I think is the best option when the you have the skills on that technology but take account that is not portable neither good for usability.

    Ivan
