Message priority - F1 (Help)

Question

I am trying to write a JMS application in which the user is able to change the message priority (alone).
If I run the setJMSPriority of the Message class, there is no effect. If I change the priority on the MessageProducer, then all defaults are changed.
How can I do this and why is it not working ? There is another option of sending the priority within the send method, but I prefer not to use that.

I think that you will have to use the send operation that allows you to specify the priority of the message at send time.
From the specification: "The following message headers are set as part of sending a message: JMSDestination, JMSDeliveryMode, JMSExpiration, JMSPriority, JMSMessageID and JMSTimeStamp. When the message is sent, the values of these headers are ignored. After the completion of the send, the headers hold the values specified by the method sending the message."
What this measns is that if you create a message and then invoke setJMSPriority, this will have no effect. The setting of this field is done by the message-provider during the sending of the message. It is set to the value of the priority of the MessageSender, or the value specified in the operation send(Queue queue, Message message, int deliveryMode, int priority, long timeToLive) or send(Message message, int deliveryMode, int priority, long timeToLive).
I would suggest using one of these as I do not think there is another way to specifiy prioritys per send.
