Message type "A" - Cancel message

Hi All,
Wanted to know if we can capture messages of type "A" (Cancel Messages) after bdc call transaction ?
I know we can caputure Error messages ("E") and Success messages ("S") but can we capture messages of type "A" ?
Will this kind of message simply not throw you out of the bdc program ?

"E" is simply for showing only error screen.
"N"is for showing non of screen.

Can we change the message type property of message in Orchestration ?
I tried to change the message type property of message in Orchestration(in expression shape) as follows:
MessageName(BTS.MessageType)="20";
But admin console showed the error that it is read only property.
How we can change it ?

No you can't change the message type context property. If you have some process which is depend on message type value, then construct a new message whose targetnamespace and rootelement matches to the value which you want to set. With something like..
create a completely new schema with the fields/ data structure same as the one where you want to change the message type
Set the newly created schema's target namespace and rootelement to the one which you want to change. For example if you want to change the message type values as
http://samenamespace#sampleRootElement, then set the target namespace of the newly created schema as "http://samenamespace" and its root element
as "sampleRootElement"
Then construct this new message from old message using message assignment shape or transformation using map. This way the newly contricted message will have the message type value as want you want to change. This is the only way.
Moreover you can't set the message type value as "20" as you have shown, its targetNamespace#rootelement of the schema, not any custom value. If you have any process which depends on this custom value assign this value to a custom context property
using property schema.

How to find message type by using message number and application area

Hi abapers,
I know the message number and application area , how to find messagwe type.
i.e weather it is error message or warning message.
MESSAGE NUMBER IS :219.
APLLICATION AREA IS : FS.
in which table i had to check.
i checked in t100 table , but i am unable to find message type.
please help me to solve this.

go to se91
enter area and message number.
then click on display.
then go to utilities tab >> where used list or press shift + ctrl +f3
there list of program will show .
choose your program name
then u will get ur mesage infoemation by double click on ur program name

It is possible to change any warning message type to error message type?

Dear All,
Kindly do your need full efforts to solve this problem;
For T code iw32, material avaibility checks works but it gives warning message as per error message required at this point.
It is possible to change that message 281 i.e. Order & has missing parts to an error message rather than a warning message.
Kindly provide your valueable suggestions regarding it.
Do tell about any badi or echancement spot or user exits where error message can be incooperated.

Problem not facing problem due to any code, i think u r not getting wht i am saying.
Let me explain in detail.
While creating order from t code iw31, material avability checks works and it is working fine and generating a warning mess in case of out of stock case. Requirement is to transform that warning mess to error mess.
Just need to know how can i change standard warning mess to error mess so that error mess displays in place of that warning mess.
Kindly suggest its solution for it .

Message Type M8 and Message number 074

Hi All,
I find many threads with the same issue,but i can not be able to get teh solution so that i raised new thread.
In our system,system post debit and credit ve3ndor invoice through daily schedule job with help of BAPI_INCOMINGINVOICE_CREATE .
For some cases system shows a message Quantity entered larger than quantity to be debited.
I checked in Purchase order ,good receipt and Invoice,all three documents having a same qunatiy.
Can any one help me to resolve this issue?

In the table ITEMDATA you would have set flag DE_CRE_IND. It means, that
system tries to post subsequent debit and it is not possible, because
according to purchase order history no invoice was posted till now.
Please also check the following attached note and follow the
instructions in it.

Message interface with two types of message types

Hi experts,
I am having problem that a proxy cannot be generated because of the (mixed) types of the message types that the interface is using.
The first message type is defined in the repository and another is defined as an external definition, imported in from an outside source.
Here is the SAP message I received when I tried to generate the proxy for this interface.

In a message interface you can use messages from different sources:
1. Message types and fault message types edited in the Integration Repository
2. Messages imported into the Integration Repository (external definitions, RFC, IDoc)
In the current message interface, message types from different sources have been used.
Since messages from these different sources must be handled differently during proxy generation, such a mixture of messages within a message interface is not possible.
System Response
The interface cannot be generated.
Procedure
Change the interface definition accordingly in the Integration Repository.

The imported xsd is quite large and also contain many large includes. I don't have the option of creating the message type manually.

Hi all,
I tried several things and the problem is still not resolved. This is what I learned.
First of all, I believed the SAP message about mixing of internal and external message is misleading or even wrong. I tried with both message types being external but I still get the same message that the interface has one internal and the other external message type.
Secondly, since Arvind suggested that I might have used an xml element that is not currently supported by ABAP proxy, I then change to another definition with the most simplest elements. I then attached this other definition to the interface and tried generating the proxy again. I still get the same system message that I am using mixing of message types in one interface.
My conclusion is XI still is not capable of generating ABAP proxy from external definition.
Does anyone have any comments/suggestion/experience on this issue?

Error in ALE service 29 Could not determine recipients for message type MAT

Hi Experts,
While transferring the material using ALE am getting error 29 ie 'Error in ALE service' and message is 'Could not determine recipients for message type MATFET'.
Also i ve recieved the materials with the proper status al the end am getting the above error.

Status 29 means " partner profile not found " . Please check if the recieving partner is configured properly in WE20 in sender system.
Also make sure that the Port and RFC definations are also completed. If the IDoc is manually triggered then please make sure that control record parameters of the idoc are properly filled - if we miss the details ( like wrong port given , wrong basic type for message type - or extended message type ) then also the idoc will fail in status 29 even though the partner profile is properly configured .
Since your idoc is getting generated i think no issues with BD64 since already interested recipeints were populated in control record of idoc.

Why are not pop up message window when message type I and W

I am working in BADI ( me_purchdoc_posted~posted) for t-code ME21N. Actually i want show material number, material description and ABC indicator of material at saving point of PO if material is significant.
code is properly working but does not showing error message window when I am using message type I (information) or W (worming message) .
if i am using message type E ( error message )then showing message window just link Information message.
So i can no understand why are not message window pop up when i take message type I and W.

I find Badi to transaction me21n at saving PO. Badi ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST does not exist.
so i am using Badi me_purchdoc_posted~posted.
This Badi ( me_purchdoc_posted~posted ) is properly working But showing message "system error ( error in method po_post ) "
when I am click on OK then automatic leave from transaction.

Message type, Idoc type and process code in ALE/Idoc

Each Idoc version(creams01 or cremas03) will have seperate process codes in Inbound process?
Whether Message type triggers the process code or the Idoctype/idoc triggers the process code in Inbound process?

About your question as how should you assign seperate process code for the same message type ( with different IDoc Type )-
In We42, the message type can be assigned to the processing code. But here you will find that along with message type there are two more fields - Message Code & Message Function.
You can use any one these to serve your purpose.
e.g. you can assign
-process code P1 to message type M with Message code 1
-process code P2 to message type M with Message code 2
Further these process types can be configured to call separate FMs.
Now depending on IDOC types your external system should populate the message type as well as Message code so that accordingly process code will be determined at the time of inbound processing.

Using Fault Message Type in BPM

In my BPM Scenario, I am using a synchronous send step in which I am using a fault message type.For giving the container for the fault message in the Properties area of the send step, I want to define a container corresponding to the Fault message Type I have already defined.How can I achieve this since it is not possible by defining an Abstract Interface? Can someone please explain how to do this?

Message Types:
A --> Termination Message
The message appears in a dialog box, and the program terminates. When the user has confirmed the message, control returns to the next-highest area menu.
E --> Error Message
Depending on the program context, an error dialog appears or the program terminates.
I --> Information
The message appears in a dialog box. Once the user has confirmed the message, the program continues immediately after the MESSAGE statement.
S --> Status Message and Sucess message
The program continues normally after the MESSAGE statement, and the message is displayed in the status bar of the next screen.
W --> Warning
Depending on the program context, an error dialog appears or the program terminates.
X --> Exit
No message is displayed, and the program terminates with a short dump. Program terminations with a short dump normally only occur when a runtime error occurs. Message type X allows you to force a program termination. The short dump contains the message ID.

Hi,
In XI, we always create Data Type first and using Data type we create message type.
We can reuse this data type to create integrate into another data type also.
Using data type we cannot create any other object in XI except message type.
Whenever we need to create message interface, message mapping, interface mapping, we always use message type.
So Message type is need to be created from Data type. To transfer data XI uses message type.

Is it possible to use the same Message Type in several Message Interfaces?
I have BPM which is using AbstractInterface.
I created this interface based on my Message Type.
I have got mapping exeption. Maybe it is because of using the same message type.

Message Type in RBDMIOC

Hi,
I have created customized message type for idoc type MATMAS05. I have activated change pointer in BD61. I have also activated change pointer for message type in BD50. And have made entry BD52.
And I made changes to existing material. I checked in cdhdr table changes have been captured. But when I try to run RBDMIDOC, I am not able to find my message type in available message type list.

I have used the program RBDMIDOC few times. As per my knowledge RBDMIDOC is a standard SAP program and we can run it only for std msg types. So ur custom msg type will not appear in the dropdown. I dont think we can run RBDMIDOC for custom msg types though I am not very sure about this.
