MessageBody.txt file instead of actual message body when attachment="true"

Hi guys,
Using XMLP 5.6.3 with EBS (with patch 5968876 applied)
Trying to send out a PDF report via email using the bursting engine. We need the report to be attached but the message body to show in the actual message body window of the client.
Right now, instead of that we get the message body as an attachment called messageBody.txt
Here are some relevant lines of my control file:
<xapi:email server="email.server" port="25">
<xapi:message id="123" to="[email protected]" attachment="true" content-type="html/text" subject="My subject">Dear customer,
This is the actual message body</xapi:message>
</xapi:email>
</xapi:delivery>
<xapi:document key="${TRX_NUMBER}" output="${TRX_NUMBER}" output-type="pdf" delivery="123">
If I set attachment="false" then I get the message body but no PDF file.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Michel

I posted this as an issue (the attachment does attach but a blank txt box also attaches) a long time ago, but didn't get a response from either Tim or Development. Here is the thread with further info.

  • Characters added/changed in message body when sent w/ attachments

    Hi,
    I've got a strange problem that is starting to annoy me.
    When sending mail with attachments from Mail (Tiger 10.4.5 / G4 Powermac),
    - some chartacters in the message body are changed to question marks (usually between paragraphs, but also sometimes just random)
    - characters that have accent (like in the french alphabet) turn into chinese characters.
    Messages with no attachemnts are fine.
    I've updated all the updates from Software Update and also runs repair permissions a couple of time but to no avail.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Blank message body when sending or receiving HTML formated emails Exchange 2010

    I Have just installed Exchange Server 2010 over the weekend on a customers system.  All clients using either Outlook 2003 or 2007 are unable to see any text in the body of emails that are formatted in HTML.  If they receive an email formatted as HTML there is no body text, if they send an Plain Text formatted email the recipient sees the text in the body.  This problem presents across all Exchange users and affects all HTML formatted emails sent or received since transitioning from Exchange 2007 to 2010.  Plain Text and Rich Text email present with no issues. If we import old email via a pst they afre able to see all email text both HTML and plain text. when we access the clients email account via OWA all emails work but then if we go into outlook 2003/2007 and click the email it removes the body text from the email in both the client and OWA have tried Outlook connection issues with Exchange 2010 mailboxes due to RPC encryption requirement
     http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/2006508 and it made no difference at all.
    Thanks
    Update: Have just tested further and all pc seem to work ok with either 2003 or outlook 2007 on.  The problem only seems to be happening on the remothe desktop services server which has outlook 2007 ( have also tried outlook 2003 with same results)

    We have just migrated to Exchange 2010 and have had some blank emails come in to our system.  We think we have a reason and fix for
    it. Hopefully this helps someone else…
    Staffs have their own private mailbox (as you would expect) but also share common mailboxes like "Support" and "Info". When an email came
    into the inbox on a shared mailbox, it might be blank. Plain text emails seemed to be okay.
    We found that when an email came in, it was readable for about two or three seconds (you need to be setup to send a test and check the inbox quickly - we used Outlook 2007 with the reading pane turned on) and then it blanked out!. We checked the incoming
    email by using the arrow keys to select it and then select the email below the new email, if you go back and forth between them you can see the good new email suddenly goes blank.
    So send another test, but this time make sure the email is set to “Plain Text”. Our email turned up fine, two seconds latter
    it had a NOD32 signature appended to the end of it saying that it had been scanned by NOD32 (you may have seen this kind of note appended to the end of emails before).
    What appeared to be happening is that one or more users sitting at their desks in Outlook had different settings configured in NOD32 (they
    were supposed to be using the server based profile that we control). We thought we had the server doing the AV work, but several of our client PCs had NOD32 enabled to integrate with Outlook. New items received in the shared Inbox’s were being scanned
    by the client PCs and having a signature appended which was mucking up the HTML format of the email and Exchange 2010 blanked them out.
    Make sure your AV products aren’t corrupting the email formats causing them to be displayed blank. Try tests using OWA only and don't
    access the mailbox using Outlook.
    Thanks.

  • File path defaulted to 'C:\fakepath' when attaching an original on PLM WUI

    Hi,
    When trying to attach an original via PLM WUI, we notice that the file path is defaulted as 'C:\fakepath' instead of the document path of the original.
    We see this behaviour happening only with PLM WUI, and the functionality works perfectly fine with SAP GUI.
    Any expert opinions appreciated.

    HI Vivek,
    If you go to Internet Explorer; Tools; Internet Option; Security; Custom;  find the "Include local directory path when uploading files to a server" (it is quite a ways down) and click on "Enable"  You may have to restart your computer, but this works & eliminates that  "fakepath" that inhibits the upload file path.

  • Help.  Does use of .txt file make sense or code directly into an ArrayList

    I am writing my first program and I want to put a series of information in various .txt files. This is because I will have a lot of different objects that I will create that will needed to be iterated over (most of the objects are similar in many ways). It seemed to me that a .txt file would be better than writing the items directly in an arraylist (if you know what i mean). What do you think?
    There will be 7 different objects that will be iterated over (and there will be 12 other objects doing other things as well, they will not be in .txt format), and I thought instead of having to maintain it through the actual code, I would just have .txt files that I create in notepad or something so that when I need to make changes to one of the 7 objects I only have to get the .txt file instead of having to wade through the code to find that object.
    Does this make sense?
    It seems that I will now have to do a lot of I / O to make it work, so now I am thinking maybe it is better to simply use the arrylist. Is there a benefit of one over the other in this circumstance?
    Also one of the objects has jpeg files that will need to be iterated over. Actually for these I will put them in an array list, because I can't seem to figure out yet how to get an image and the information about the image to display within I/O (like CD covers and their titles).
    Thank you for any help and suggestions I feel a little overwhelmed, but hopeful, with you kind folks.
    Peace
    NB I know that I am not using the correct terminology, but I hope that you can understand what I mean.

  • Updated record should come in txt file

    Hi Friends,
    My requirements like this way, any changes make in mara, mard, mbew, makt, vbak, vbap, vbrk and abrp table. that newly created data should come in .txt file of application server.
    I have already developed a program for that. it is downloading data in every 3 hours slots. it is running in background. whatever changes made during these hours it will download.
    now, my requirement has been changed, instance data should come in .txt file of app server. e.g. when newly created record save in database table, same time that record should come in .txt file with proper format.
    is it possible? please let me know.
    Thanks in advance,
    Parag

    Hi Parag,
    To obtain changes you know you can get the details from the tables CDHDR and CDPOS.
    Also you have questions about performance and so. SO here are some details.
    - When you flag a data element for change document (is checked) it is ONLY a marker that allows for registration of this field's changes into CDHDR and CDPOS. The actual control is done on datafile level in its technical settings (Transaction SE11 with datafile name and then push button "Technical Settings" or CtrlShiftF9). Herein you will find a flag "Log data changes".
    Within the CDHDR file and CDPOS file a field OBJECTCLAS is used. Only for existing OBJECTCLAS values the changes are logged.
    - Now obvious this is the trick for standard SAP (as Subramanian has already pointed out you can find "OBJECTCLAS" values with transaction SCDO). If you want to know on how to create your own "OBJECTCLAS" values with working logging on your own designed fields follow Subramanian suggestion and read the documentation.
    Now to your questions:
    You gave some tables you need to track changes (and now also for initial creation) like MARA, MARD, MAKT and others.
    To get changes for these tables use the following "OBJECTCLAS" values:
    - MATERIAL (Tables MARA, MARC, MARD, MBEW, MFHM, MLGN, MLGT, MPGD, MPOP and MVKE). By-the-way, this object will be replaced by MATERIAL_N  (available from release 4.6x).
    - VERKBELEG (Tables VBAK, VBAP, VBEP, VBKD, VBLB, VBPA, VBPA2 and VBUK).
    To collect changes (suggested by Andreas) you could use function module CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ. This is very usefull if also archiving is active for the objects you need to track changes for and your changes are scattered through time, but for your problem it is better to approach the log data directly.
    1. First select the main change documents from CDHDR table for a given "OBJECTCLAS" and "OBJECTID". Here you can use additional filtering on DATE (field UDATE) and TIME (field (UTIME). Even filtering on a specific transaction is possible (field TCODE).
    This gives you a number of change documents (field CHANGENR).
    2a. Secondly select the specific field changes from table CDPOS by using the found fields from CDHDR and additionally fill TABNAME with the specific table and if required FNAME with the specific field name. 2b. Since in your case the values will not be known, you need to track changes, you have to be very carefull in your selections. If you track the object MATERIAL or MATERIAL_N, you best loop over the MARA table and for each MATNR fill the OBJECTID field of CDHDR with this MATNR value.
    3. In order to find NEWLY created items you need to check the CHANGE_IND flag. When 'I' it is an new insert, when 'U' it is an update. Now this rule applies ONLY to key fields, since SAP first creates the key record (CHANGE_IND = 'I') and then the other fields (CHANGE_IND = 'U').
    Finally the warning given by Andreas (runtime increases - you MUST select with OBJECTCLAS and OBJECTID) is very important. Not supplying OBJECTID will have a very heavy impact on the runtime.
    Hope this gives you some clues on how to approach your problem.

    Rob.

  • Issues loading .txt files from server...

    Hi.
    I have an issue with a script I created that loads text strings from a file on my server.
    The swf file loads a message from a .txt file, displays it in an animation when the animation finishes it loops back to the start and loads the next message and displays it in the animation.
    All works fine. However the script reads the text file from the server on every loop ( 3 seconds ) This will be hard on my server so... Is there a way to read the text file once only and then loop through the eight statements?
    Thanks. Z
    Actionscript 2. Flash CS3. Flash Player 10.
    quotes.txt - text file containing eight quotes
    quote_txt - Dynamic field within animation
    ranQuote = new LoadVars();
    ranQuote.onLoad = function(success) {
        if (success) {
            RanNum = RanNum+1;
            if (RanNum>=9) {
                RanNum = 1;
                ran = this["quote"+(RanNum)];
                quote_txt.text = ran;
            } else {
                ran = this["quote"+RanNum];
                quote_txt.text = ran;
        } else {
            quote_txt.text = "Display if can't load txt file";
    ranQuote.load("quotes.txt");

    Unless I'm missing something, each time you load the file you are loading the entire file.  So you should have all of what's in it stored.  Your load function appears to just be picking out one of them out randomly after they're all loaded.
    I assumed wrongly that this isn't all the code you have and other loading code is what you are trying to inhibit.
    What you probably want to do is take most of your onLoad code and place it into a function.  What you have that is pulling up the quotes should utilize that function.  You shouldn't be using that loading code each time some button or whatever loop cycles.

  • Writing the ASCII value of a character found in a .txt file

    I have a program that reads in a file and outputs certain characters to a new smaller file. The program works fine (thanks to some forum help) but I now need to print the ASCII value of the characters that are written to the file.
    The problem I'm having (besides writing the ascii value of the char) is that the Unix .txt file has some weird properties. When I run the program on a .txt test file that I created with spaces in it, the program ignores the space characters.
    Yet, when I run the program on the Unix file it wites the 'spaces' to the output file. That is why I want to write/print the ASCII value of the "blank "character in the Unix .txt file.
    I already serached the forum and did a Google search for Char to ASCII conversion but I didn't find anything.

    Thanks I didn't even think to try and cast it to an int...
    The tool I'm using to create my .txt in windows is Notepad.
    I wrote a program to simply copy the original (3GB) Unix file and terminated it early so I could see what was there. What I found was some text and symbols and a lot of space between brief bursts of text. I can't really copy and paste an example because the amount of space is too large, it's basically a 3GB unformatted .txt file...
    Unix file was created on: unknown
    It sounds like the .txt file that I copied from the Unix box was formatted differently. But I thought that the formatting had more to do with end of line issues, not blank space between characters. Because a blank space should be seen by my program and ignored...
    Here's the ASCII value of the "blank" spaces:
    Character     Line Number     Character Number
    [ ]          [1]          [17]     Ascii Value: [0]
    [ ]          [1]          [18]     Ascii Value: [0]
    [']          [868]          [2066]     Ascii Value: [39]
    [,]          [877]          [186]     Ascii Value: [44]
    [,]          [877]          [276]     Ascii Value: [44]
    Also, the Ascii value printed for the blank spaces looks like the number zero here but it looks like it has strange points on the bottom of it in my output file. It looks like the extended ASCII character 234 &#937;

    and all can be viewed correctly.
    But after deploying (ct is on 11.5.10.2 RUP5), all files can be downloaded and viewed correctly
    for filetypes (xls, ppt, doc). But for .txt files, it can be downloaded but when viewed,
    it is appended with html contents after the original text.
    eg. The original text in abc.txt is "test".
    Then the file downloaded and opened will contain:
    "+test+
    +<!-- METADATA_SOURCE - JRAD --><!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01+
    Transitional//EN"><html dir="ltr" lang="en-US-ORACLE9I"><head><title>Oracle
    Applications</title>..."
    Found a similar bug6313329 which has html contents appended to wf notification mail
    and is fixed with patch 6313329.
    Anyone encountered such issue? Any advise is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    User,
    There is a specific forum for OA Framework - you should probably be asking there; when you do, you should probably provide a bit more information (e.g., are you talking about attachments on a workflow notification or something else).
    Best,
    John

  • Retrieve data from txt file to generate CWGraph plot

    Please help...I'm not sure this is even possible, but here is what I need to do.  I wrote a DAQ program that utilizes the CWGraph control.  Each second a data point is collected by the program and displayed in one of the CWGraphs.  The only problem I have is that if the program is closed or crashes for some reason, I lose the data plot in my CWGraphs.  The data points are collected in a txt file which is then later worked up in Excel.  My question is, is there a way to retrieve these data points from the txt file and re-generate the plots when the program is opened back up?  The program would then take back over and plot along in realtime.  I hope this is clear enough to understand.  Feel free to ask any questions and any input would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Chris,
    There is not a shipping example that would demonstrate exactly what you are looking for in your application.
    The reading and writing to a file will require general VB 6.0 programming as Measurement Studio does not provide a feature to assist you with that.  If you are not familiar with File I/O in VB 6.0, this site may be a good starting point: File I/O - VisualBasic Examples .
    Once again, parsing the input from the text file will also require general VB 6.0 programming.  I am not sure how your text file will be delimited, but you can use this example as a guide to parsing the input from the file: Parse String Using A Specific Delimiter .
    To convert from strings to numbers in VB 6.0, you can use the Val() function.  More information about how to use that function can be found on MSDN: Val Function .
    Once you have an array of doubles, you can plot the data on your waveform graph as usual.  If you are not familiar with how to plot an array to a CWGraph, please take a look at our shipping examples.  The Simple Graph example is a great starting point.
