Characters added/changed in message body when sent w/ attachments

Hi,
I've got a strange problem that is starting to annoy me.
When sending mail with attachments from Mail (Tiger 10.4.5 / G4 Powermac),
- some chartacters in the message body are changed to question marks (usually between paragraphs, but also sometimes just random)
- characters that have accent (like in the french alphabet) turn into chinese characters.
Messages with no attachemnts are fine.
I've updated all the updates from Software Update and also runs repair permissions a couple of time but to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Does the same occur when using Plain Text for message composition instead of RTF?
Some email clients (mainly Windows Outlook and Outlook Express depending on the version used by the recipient) do not read Mail's RTF properly.

    Hi guys,
    Using XMLP 5.6.3 with EBS (with patch 5968876 applied)
    Trying to send out a PDF report via email using the bursting engine. We need the report to be attached but the message body to show in the actual message body window of the client.
    Right now, instead of that we get the message body as an attachment called messageBody.txt
    Here are some relevant lines of my control file:

    If I set attachment="false" then I get the message body but no PDF file.

  • Blank message body when sending or receiving HTML formated emails Exchange 2010

    I Have just installed Exchange Server 2010 over the weekend on a customers system.  All clients using either Outlook 2003 or 2007 are unable to see any text in the body of emails that are formatted in HTML.  If they receive an email formatted as HTML there is no body text, if they send an Plain Text formatted email the recipient sees the text in the body.  This problem presents across all Exchange users and affects all HTML formatted emails sent or received since transitioning from Exchange 2007 to 2010.  Plain Text and Rich Text email present with no issues. If we import old email via a pst they afre able to see all email text both HTML and plain text. when we access the clients email account via OWA all emails work but then if we go into outlook 2003/2007 and click the email it removes the body text from the email in both the client and OWA have tried Outlook connection issues with Exchange 2010 mailboxes due to RPC encryption requirement

    Update: Have just tested further and all pc seem to work ok with either 2003 or outlook 2007 on.  The problem only seems to be happening on the remothe desktop services server which has outlook 2007 ( have also tried outlook 2003 with same results)

    We have just migrated to Exchange 2010 and have had some blank emails come in to our system.  We think we have a reason and fix for
    it. Hopefully this helps someone else…
    Staffs have their own private mailbox (as you would expect) but also share common mailboxes like "Support" and "Info". When an email came
    into the inbox on a shared mailbox, it might be blank. Plain text emails seemed to be okay. 
    We found that when an email came in, it was readable for about two or three seconds (you need to be setup to send a test and check the inbox quickly - we used Outlook 2007 with the reading pane turned on) and then it blanked out!. We checked the incoming
    email by using the arrow keys to select it and then select the email below the new email, if you go back and forth between them you can see the good new email suddenly goes blank.
    So send another test, but this time make sure the email is set to “Plain Text”. Our email turned up fine, two seconds latter
    it had a NOD32 signature appended to the end of it saying that it had been scanned by NOD32 (you may have seen this kind of note appended to the end of emails before).
    What appeared to be happening is that one or more users sitting at their desks in Outlook had different settings configured in NOD32 (they
    were supposed to be using the server based profile that we control). We thought we had the server doing the AV work, but several of our client PCs had NOD32 enabled to integrate with Outlook. New items received in the shared Inbox’s were being scanned
    by the client PCs and having a signature appended which was mucking up the HTML format of the email and Exchange 2010 blanked them out.
    Make sure your AV products aren’t corrupting the email formats causing them to be displayed blank. Try tests using OWA only and don't
    access the mailbox using Outlook.

  • Change gmail outgoing name when sent from iphone4

    hi!
    so, i have my gmail account set up on iphone and it works all fine and peachy but...
    all my outgoing e-mails sent from iphone have my username displayed as outgoing name.
    (for example: say, my e-mail is [email protected] all my outgoing e-mails, sent from iphone display Pink Elephant as my name, which looks kind of awkward, when i'm replying to business related e-mails)
    just to be clear: when i go to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> GMAIL -> Account... it doesn't have the name field.
    it has:
    - email
    - server
    - domain
    - username
    - password
    - description
    and the option to use SSL. that's it.
    any ideas how to change the outgoing name?

    wjosten, the thing is - it has my name in gmail settings. i checked. it works fine, when i e-mail from a computer.
    changing it has no effect on my outgoing name, when i send from iphone.

  • Color Changing Clip Aspect Ratio When Sent Back To FCP

    Color... Love it...BUT...
    When I send my sequence from FCP to Color, grade it, then send it back, the aspect ratio of all the clips is changed to 6.67.
    I only corrected our new TV shows teaser so I was not to concerned with having to go into the motion tab in FCP to change each clips aspect ratio back to 0. However, I will grade the whole 80 minutes tomorrow and I don't have time to change each clip back.
    In color I only change the Primary In.
    Did not mess with the geometry.
    I have the latest update.
    And I have no clue....
    Any help would be great.

    Yup,
    Like Fearless I find its best to not have FCP do the anamorphic squeeze. I never tag anything as anamorphic and just do it on the monitor. At the end of the project I'll nest into a timeline for output and do the squeeze there.

  • Agents failing when sent as attachments (pdf or excel) in OBIEE 11g

    We have issue agents failing with following error when set up with attachment (pdf or excel only) either as Dashboard or Report. If the same agent is run as inline then the agent is working fine. OBIEE version is 11.1.1.6.0 unclustered.
    [nQSError: 77006] Oracle BI Presentation Server Error: A fatal error occurred while processing the request. The server responded with: A fatal error occurred while processing the request. The server responded with: java.io.IOException: The system cannot find the path specified.
    Error Codes: AGEGTYVF
    Location: saw.rpc.mis.read, saw.subsystem.portal.pdf, saw.delivers.rpc.getDeviceContent, saw.rpc.server.responder, saw.rpc.server, saw.rpc.server.handleConnection, saw.rpc.server.dispatch, saw.threadpool.socketrpcserver, saw.threads
    We tried logging in as user/Administrator and running the report from catalog without any error. Also strangely this is evident in only a specific environment. Not sure what is causing the issue.

    What is the size of the attachments of reports you are trying to send thru Agents .? either PDF or EXCEL ?
    What does you JavaHost log .?
    I think this is a same Bug 14680611 : ERROR CODES: AGEGTYVF RUNNING AGENTS WITH LARGE REPORT AS EXCEL ATTACHMENT
    If your are not able to download even smaller attachments/reports then, I would raise an SR with Oracle.

  • Change Migration message

    Hi experts,
    I needs some advices how to change the message.
    When I open 3.x workbook with 7.x BEx analyzer, the mesage comes and says "3.x workbook will open for upgrade". So I choose "OK", and Popup message says "3.x Workbook:&#65308;report name&#65310;.xls opened for Upgrade"
    But we are not going to migrate with opening 3.x workbook with 7.x BEx analyzer so that this message might confuse user "Workbook has done correctly".
    So I would like remove or change this Popup message.
    Please give me advices.

    I could restrict displaying the message at RSRT. But I can not change the text at there.
    You said it can change at BEx tool on BEx analyzer before,
    Is this mean we can change message setting or text at BEx analyzer under some FEP version?

  • ME9F : no update  message 'NEU' when user cancel the printing

    I use transaction ME9F and when the user click on the button ‘Output message’, a specific program is called.
    A popup is displaying in order to display a choice for  the user. He can choose print ‘Original document’ or ‘Copy’ and he can also cancel the printing.
    But when he cancel the printing  the message ‘NEU’ is ‘OK’ (green cross) but the PO is not printed.
    Do you a solution for not changing the message ‘NEU’  when the user cancel the printing.

    I would like to change the email wording (in the subject line & message body) that is sent out when an agreement has been fully e-signed by all parties.     Thanks MartinR, yes the Toggle bars can be adjusted so that I can see all the tracks - just in the smallest setting - however this also creates a huge area of grey which serves no other purpose than to "use up screen space". If this is deliberate then there is nothing one can do - since presumably the additional profit made on screen sales is more important to Apple, than the combined annoyance to those working on a 13" laptop. Of course a 15" screen or even 17" screen may make this wastage less obvious. Please indicate that this is all incorrect and explain why it is important to have space waiting "for additional tracks", even if I have no intention of making additional tracks. If that is the answer then perhaps additional space to the left and right of the timeline would be useful in case I wish to make a 30 minute film, so that it could be placed there without having to drag anything. It may be that I am expecting software than can be tailor adjusted, each parameter to the desired level as in professional items and since this is a cheap consumer program it is not possible.
    I bought Final Cut Pro for a lot of money (when it first appeared it was thousands and not just hundreds) but never used it since it was too complicated and tedious, but maybe there, this problem of screen wastage does not occurr, perhaps someone can advise! I could go back and reinstall it, but it was made for 10.2.8 and not 10.6.8 so it would not run on this macbook. I recently bought an old 15" TitaniumPowerbook (from 2005) and despite running at 1MHz the response time on it is "instantaneous" - amazing to not have the almost half second delay on many commands - graphics appear nearly immediately (just 5 milliseconds delay) and this makes working so much more enjoyable, not having the (350ms) stutter of 10.6.8 which we all get used to after our initial disappointment.

  • Cannot view OWA email - after upgrade to Firefox 5.0, Outlook Web Access displays ASCII characters (garbage) in message body. Same issue with multiple servers.

    Email body of HTML or RTF messages are rendered in ASCII characters after upgrading to Firefox 5 when viewing email in MS Outlook Web Access (OWA) light from MS Exchange 2007 servers. Issue is repeatable with two entirely different Exchange systems.
    Text email renders OK. Work around is to forward email (in use MS-IE).

    (1) You say you did the symbolic link. I will assume this is set correctly; it's very important that it is.
    (2) I don't know what you mean by "Been feeding the [email protected] for several weeks now, 700 emails each day at least." After the initial training period, SpamAssassin doesn't learn from mail it has already processed correctly. At this point, you only need to teach SpamAssassin when it is wrong. [email protected] should only be getting spam that is being passed as clean. Likewise, [email protected] should only be getting legitimate mail that is being flagged as junk. You are redirecting mail to both [email protected] and [email protected] ... right? SpamAssassin needs both.
    (3) Next, as I said before, you need to implement those "Frontline spam defense for Mac OS X Server." Once you have that done and issue "postfix reload" you can look at your SMTP log in Server Admin and watch as Postfix blocks one piece of junk mail after another. It's kind of cool.
    (4) Add some SARE rules:

    lots of people seem to be havgin a problem sending email from iCloud webmail.
    does your email address have uppercase characters in it?
    if so, try creating an alias in lowercase (go to preferences in iCloud webmail and select 'accounts') and see if email sends okay from that

    If you are using WF_ENGINE.SetItemAttrText API, I see that you have a workflow item that is launched. In such a case you could just have a notification activity within the same process that will send the notification and the e-mail appropriately.
    Why do you use WF_NOTIFICATION.Send using an attribute value that is set from a Workflow item.
    Typically WF_NOTIFICATION.Send function is used to send a notification outside of a workflow process. Typically you would use a workflow message definition and corresponding message attribute definition and use the following code to send the notification.

    I dont know whether you can do hyperlink in the mail but i can think of following 2 options:
    1)  Use Workflow and send it to user and then attach transaction MM03 to that so that when user receives message, he/she can directly open MM03.
    2)  In report, you can have hyperlink.
