Method Not Suypported- Statement.setQueryTimeout(int)

I'm having a bout of confusion over error messages. We're using a product to monitor our IT resources and currently trying to monitor Informix DB response through JDBC.
Our software package said we should use the Informix JDBC 1.40 but only 1.50 was available to us. From the language I think the help file was written when 1.4 was out because it makes no mention of earlier or later versions.
The notes for 1.5 say JDK 1.1.6, 1.1.7, or 1.1.8 needs to be installed. (no mention of a JRE, though I assume JDK convers that as well.) We installed JDK 1.1.8
Our monitor is erroring out, quickly, saying that
connect error,
Method not supported : Statement.setQueryTimeout(int).
I'm having trouble identifing where this is unsupported. Would someone recognize, does this means ....
Infromix JDBC 1.5 is making a request that JDK 1.1.8 doesn't support?
Informix JDBC 1.5 is making a request that the java interface on the Informix DB server doesn't recognize?
JDK 1.1.8 is lacking some requirement?
Some other inbetween layer (which I am not recognizing) is the problem?
A later version of JRE is running and causing the conflict (perhaps this method is obsolete in JRE 1.3.0)
I confirmed that the JDK 1.1.8 is in the first in the path and gets executed by default. (instead of another version on the NT server). There is another version 1.3.0 installed.

I have no expertise with informix, but I know that the Statement.setTimeOut(int) method is supported in 1.1.x, therefore this is most likely being generated by the driver or the database.

  • Java.sql.Statement: setQueryTimeout(int seconds) ???

    Anyboby knows if this method is working with MySQL-Connector JDBC driver ?
    If not, is there another way to time out a select query ?
    Thanks a lot
    Ludovic

    Do you have an idea of how I can test it ?Well you can time a select query and afterwards set the timeout interval to a value less than the time of the query. Start the same query and check the results.
    So long.

  • Financial statement version INT does not exist

    Hello Friends,
    I hope someone can help me figure this out and I've read discussions similar, just not exactly what I'm looking for.  When I run the following reports:
    S_ALR_87012271
    S_ALR_87012272
    S_ALR_87012273
    I receive the following error message:
    Financial statement version INT does not exist
    When I first received this message, I went to T-Code OB58 and entered the "INT" Financial Statement Version here.  I've also created a chart of accounts with INT values as well.  Can someone help me out on how to eliminate this error and set up cash flow?  If you have done this already, please do reply.  If not, then please allow those with more experience to help.
    Thanks so much!
    John

    John,
    You can define FSVs for a specific chart of accounts, for a group chart of accounts, or without any specific assignment.
    In your case, double-check whether you are running the report for the same CoA assignment that you have defined your FSV for in the first place.
    As somebody's mentioned earlier, these reports are made using Report Painter (GRR1 / 2 / 3, etc.). Seems FSV = INT has been fixed in these reports for your system. You'll have to edit these reports (using GRR2) and the correct FSV.

  • "DB- put: method not permitted before handle's open method"

    Hi,
    A deadlock caused during a read/update/write circle. After aborting and
    recreating the transaction, I get the error message:
    DB->put: method not permitted before handle's open method
    To produce the error, set a breakpoint to "Set the breakpoint here", start the
    programm, wait until the debuger is there, start the same program a second time,
    now the deadlock occurs.
    Break the deadlock of the first process: "db_deadlock -ao"

    Hi,
    The issue in your test case is the use of a transaction handle in the DB->open call, followed by an abort of that transaction. This aborts the DB->open operation, which is not what you intend.
    It is almost always simplest to pass NULL for the transaction handle to the DB->open call and add the DB_AUTO_COMMIT flag instead. Then if the open call succeeds, you have a database handle that is valid regardless of subsequent transaction aborts.

  • Method not found when displaying report in viewer CR Basic for VS 2008

    I searched and couldn't find anything regarding this.  When I try to display a report in the CrystalReportViewer, I get the following error message:
    method not found: 'Void CrystalDecisions.Shared.PageRender.set_ExceptionWindowTitle(System.String)'
    If I call PrintToPrinter for the report, it prints exactly as expected with no errors.  The report viewer control is on a separate generic form (since I have many different reports) and the report is passed to that form after it has been generated.
    I can't find any information regarding this error either on these support forums, or anywhere else on the internet.  I've tried installing the latest service pack and also removing and re-adding teh crystal reports references to my project without any change.
    Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Ok, I tried a completely fresh install of Visual Studio 2008 on a brand new Windows XP machine, same result.  I tried to do this on another developer's machine (who also has Visual Studio 2008 Professional), which resulted in this error when trying to load the ReportViewer (sorry for the long text).  It mentions something about redirecting to version 12 of crystal reports in the error message, which is strange because my project references 10.5, and I don't have crystal reports 12, which as I understand is the full retail version of Crystal reports 2008.  Any ideas?

  • ORA-32162: Read/Write SQL method not registered-for OTT

    I am trying this--
    env = Environment::createEnvironment (Environment::OBJECT);
    RegisterClasses(env);
    conn = env->createConnection (user, passwd, db);
    RegisterClasses is my mapping function; But still I am getting this error at--
    stmt->registerOutParam( 2,OCCIPOBJECT);
    I am trying to make a stored procedure call here...
    Can anyone tell me what is that I am missing?

    Hi,
    I am using OTT generated objects to pass them to my PL/SQL procedures as OUT parameters. When I call the registerOutParam() function, I get this error ORA-32162: Read/Write SQL method not registered.
    I am calling my mapping function after creating environment and before creating my stateless connection pool. But still I am getting this exception at runtime while calling registerOutParam().
    Environment* env;
    env = Environment::createEnvironment(Environment::OBJECT);
    MessageTOMapping(env); // Calling the mapping function here.
    // Creating the stateless connection pool.
    StatelessConnectionPool* scp;
    scp = env->createStatelessConnectionPool("naveen",
    "naveen",
    "//10.105.153.11:1521/pls",
    10,
    5,
    2,
    StatelessConnectionPool::HOMOGENEOUS);
    // Fetch a connection from the stateless connection pool
    conn = scp->getConnection();
    // After this, I create my Statement and call the registerOutParam() which
    // causes ORA-32162 exception.
    Please note that I do not get this error when I don't use any connection-pooling mechanism. That is, if I create an environment in OBJECT mode, call the mapping function with its pointer and create a normal Connection object (without any pooling etc), my application runs perfectly fine. E.g. if I replace the above piece of code with the code below, my application runs fine.
    Environment* env;
    env = Environment::createEnvironment(Environment::OBJECT);
    MessageTOMapping(env); // Calling the mapping function here.
    conn = env->createConnection("naveen", "naveen", "//10.105.153.11:1521/pls");
    // After this, I create my Statement and call the registerOutParam() which
    // does not give problem now and my application runs pefectly fine.
    Can anyone let me know what I am doing wrong while using the stateless connection pooling mechanism? I definitely need to use Stateless Connection Pooling and must not get connections directly from env->createConnection().
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Naveen

    Hi
    As I know, not all mehtods are supported by WebLogic. For Example for Oracle only
    a SubSet of the JDBC methods are supported (see the link http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61///////oracle/API_joci.html#1070961).
    I can imagine that for Microsoft Products this is even worse.

    Hi,
    I'm using the driver that comes along with the application server ie
    weblogic.jdbc.mssqlserver4.Driver.If
    this driver doesn't support JDBC 2.0 where can i find a suitable driver
    as my
    app needs updatable recordsets with updateXXX methods and absolute moves?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    It looks like your JDBC driver does not support JDBC 2.0. I believethe
    the JDBC
    driver for SQL Server that came with WLS 6.x supports only JDBC 1.1.
    I'm making
    the assumption that that is the driver which you are using.
    hth.

  • Tomcat error: "method not found"

    I'm starting a new thread because the issue is method not found.
    So kindly bear with me.
    I'm using Tomcat 5 with Javac 1.4.2. I have created a test class
    called hellothere. The idea is to call a method from JSP.
    package helloworld;
    import java.lang.*;
    public class hellothere {
    public String sayworld()
    String st="hello from hellothere";
    return st;
    public int returnint()
    return 1;
    And the jsp looks like:
    <%@ page import="helloworld.*" %>
    <html>
    <head>
    <title> hello there </title>
    <body>
    <%
    hellothere h=new hellothere();
    String st2=h.sayworld();
    out.println(st2);
    out.println(h.returnint());
    %>
    </body>
    </html>
    The error I get is:
    method not found helloworld.hellothere.sayworld()Ljava/lang/String;
    blah blah
    When I call the returnint after commenting sayworld I get the same error, i.e. method returnint not defined.
    Does anyone know what's going on?
    Thanks

    Make sure that there is only one version of the class
    file on your system. Then check spelling and
    capitalization of the method names.
    You are not trying to run this from an IDE are you?No. I was using Tomcat 5. I don't see this problem with Tomcat 4.
    Thanks

    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you got a broken list Workflows after install SharePoint 2013 SP1.
    I recommend to check is that your cachecluster is up and running through:
    Get-CacheHostConfig -ComputerName $env:computername -CachePort 22233
    when your cache is up and running, run the following 2 commands:
    Remove-SPDistributedCacheServiceInstance
    Add-SPDistributedCacheServiceInstance
    For more information, you can refer to:

  • Method not found: 'Void National Instruments.LabVIEW.Interop.LV Runtime.throw MissingDependencyException()'.

    Method not found: 'Void National Instruments.LabVIEW.Interop.LV Runtime.throw MissingDependencyException()'.
    My colleague created a Labview DLL for me to use in .NET.
    I have tried getting this DLL to work in 3.5 framework however it only worked on framework 2.0.
    I recently tried again and now it will not work in framework 2.0 or any available frameworks.
    He is using Labview 2011.
    I am a little baffled as to how the application just stopped working. The National Instruments Runtime I am using is Labview 2011, version 1.1.0.0. The labview dll he gave me is using 1.1.0.0 as well. I have tried using 1.0.0.0 and I get an error saying there is a mismatch.
    In addition, for some reason I was never successful in making this work in 3.5, and now I can't make it work in 2.0 either.
    Any help is greatly appreciated. I have tried re-installing the runtime engine, tried different versions like labview 2013 but no luck...
    Everything works except when I call the dll procedure:
    LabVIEWExports.AxBClusterArrays(out ERR, out OUTDLL, INDLL);
    My Code:
    using System;
    using System.Collections.Generic;
    using System.ComponentModel;
    using System.Data;
    using System.Drawing;
    using System.Text;
    using System.Windows.Forms;
    using NationalInstruments.LabVIEW.Interop;
    using InteropAssembly;
    namespace WindowsFormsApplication1
    public partial class Form1 : Form
    public Form1()
    InitializeComponent();
    private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
    InteropAssembly.LVCluster_1 OUTDLL = new InteropAssembly.LVCluster_1();
    InteropAssembly.LVCluster_2 INDLL = new InteropAssembly.LVCluster_2();
    double[] TestA = new double[1];
    double[] TestB = new double[1];
    for (int runs = 0; runs < 1; runs++)
    TestA[runs] = 1;
    TestB[runs] = 1;
    INDLL.A = TestA;
    INDLL.B = TestB;
    NationalInstruments.LabVIEW.Interop.ErrorCluster ERR = new NationalInstruments.LabVIEW.Interop.ErrorCluster();
    MessageBox.Show(NationalInstruments.LabVIEW.Interop.FrameworkVersion.Fx35.ToString());
    try
    //LabVIEWExports LVE = new LabVIEWExports()
    LabVIEWExports.AxBClusterArrays(out ERR, out OUTDLL, INDLL);
    catch (Exception f)
    MessageBox.Show(f.Message.ToString());

    Figured it out, I thought we where using Labview 2011, however it was Labview 2011 SP1.
    Thus i had to install the runtime envioment 2011 SP1.

  • Error: "Function or method not supported." when using RF List Mode on NI 5673E

    Hi,
    I am trying to use the RF List Mode in NI RFSG 5673E. I tried running the sample code "RFSG Configuration List Frequency and Power Sweep.vi" but an error would show up:
    "Error: niRFSGCreateConfigurationList.VI <ERR> The LO reported the following error: Function or method not supported." with the error code: BFFA4239.
    I also tried running other sample codes that contain the Configuration List VI's but the same error appeared. I am using NI RFSG 1.8.5.
    I would really appreciate any help on this. Thanks!

    Hello jdlabrador,
    I setup a 5673E here and tried to run the same example.  I did not encounter an error.
    Other reports I've found pertaining to this error usually involved a large number of steps - there was not enough space on the hardware to accommodate them.  The error text you're seeing is a little different in that it states that the Create Configuration List method isn't supported for the LO.
    Do each of the modules in your 5673E (5450, 5611, 5652) pass a self-test in MAX?
    Have you associated the 5450 and 5652 with the 5611?
    Could you post a screenshot of the fully-expanded Devices and Interfaces tree from MAX?
    Since RFSG 1.9.5 is available, it may be a good first-step to upgrade to it.
    Best regards,
    Matthew H.

  • ORA-32162: Read/Write SQL method not registered

    Hi,
    I am using OTT generated objects to pass them to my PL/SQL procedures as OUT parameters. When I call the registerOutParam() function, I get this error ORA-32162: Read/Write SQL method not registered.
    I am calling my mapping function after creating environment and before creating my stateless connection pool. But still I am getting this exception at runtime while calling registerOutParam().
    Environment* env;
    env = Environment::createEnvironment(Environment::OBJECT);
    MessageTOMapping(env); // Calling the mapping function here.
    // Creating the stateless connection pool.
    StatelessConnectionPool* scp;
    scp = env->createStatelessConnectionPool("naveen",
    "naveen",
    "//10.105.153.11:1521/pls",
    10,
    5,
    2,
    StatelessConnectionPool::HOMOGENEOUS);
    // Fetch a connection from the stateless connection pool
    conn = scp->getConnection();
    // After this, I create my Statement and call the registerOutParam() which
    // causes ORA-32162 exception.
    Environment* env;
    env = Environment::createEnvironment(Environment::OBJECT);
    MessageTOMapping(env); // Calling the mapping function here.
    conn = env->createConnection("naveen", "naveen", "//10.105.153.11:1521/pls");
    Thanks and Regards,
    Naveen

    Hi,
    I found one workaround (not solution) to the problem.
    I used an IN OUT parameter instead of an OUT parameter in the stored procedure (though my requirement was only of an OUT parameter actually). This resulted in using the setObject() function instead of the registerOutParam() function which was throwing the ORA-32162 exception at runtime.
    I think there should be better ways in which we can pass an object as OUT parameter while also using stateless connection pooling for managing connections. Please let me know the same in case anyone knows that.
    Kind Regards,
    Naveen

  • JSF newbie question - ServletException - Method not found

    I just started learning JSF (and JSP) by following the tutorial:
    JSF for nonbelievers: Clearing the FUD about JSF
    http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/library/j-jsf1/
    I'm getting a ServletException and I'm not sure why. Instead of starting the tutorial over, I'd like to learn what I'm doing wrong.
    The exception is:
    exception
    javax.servlet.ServletException: Method not found: [email protected]()
    root cause
    javax.el.MethodNotFoundException: Method not found: [email protected]()In the calculator.jsp page (a simple page with two form fields), I noticed that when I type CalcBean., my IDE (NetBeans) only autocompletes the class variables and neither of the methods (add and multiply). I quickly searched and someone suggested restarting the server. This did not fix my problem. I must be doing something completely wrong or I missed something in the tutorial. If you don't mind, please read the simple files below and see if you can spot anything wrong. Please keep in mind this is my first time using JSF (and JSP for that matter). If you can suggest a better newbie tutorial, please do! Thanks

    In the future, please add some line breaks so I don't have to scroll horizontally to read your post.
    The problem is that the CalcBean.add/.multiply method is requiring two parameters. This method should be parameter-less. When talking about action methods, they should return String and not take any parameters.
    So, remove the parameters. You collect a firstNumber and a secondNumber from the user. These are the numbers you want to add (or multiply). Use those values (instead of the parameters) to calculate the result.
    The code changes aren't too complicated. I'd write them out for you, but you seem interested in learning (which is great by the way!). Let me know if you need more help on this.

    ps - I see more problems with the code, and I haven't given you all the answers. I know, I'm mean. You'll learn better if you try to fix things on your own first. I've just given you enough info to overcome the immediate issue. =)

  • Input/Output And Method Not Found Problem

    Ok so firstly I think I should apologise on two fronts.
    Firstly, 'cause this is probably posted in the wrong board but I'm not sure this was suitable for the Swing board just 'cause I've been using Swing? And secondly 'cause the code I'm gonna post is so shoddy I would think this constitutes as flaim-bait. >_>
    In my defense this is purely for a little class project to give something to write some documentation on so I'm really not too bothered about the efficiency or ace-mazingness of the end result. I just want it to work.
    To the problem at hand.
    I'm trying to write a program that asks the user a question and then outputs their answer to a file, from which a tally of answers can later be made for the purpose of displaying "results".
    My problem is I've been having problems with the input/output of saving the answers given to the program.
    I'm still learning and input/output is probably my weakest subject (other than, y'know, being good at Java). I've had a bash at it in the following code but all it does it overwrite what is in the file with a single answer so no list of results accumulate. I generally don't have an idea what to try for that one so any pointers would be appreciated.
    Also, my second problem is, in trying to gather results by tallying what is contained in the file, I've run across a problem with the charAt() method not being found and I'm not sure why. Isn't that method a part of java.lang?
    Here's the code thus far:

    Oh, and in trying to work with it a bit further I realised I'm having a few problems with runtime errors due to exceptions. The first was due to the array being assigned out of bounds (fixed in the above code). But the second reads the following:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException
         at Loadingsaving.load(CaseStudy.java:330)
         at QuizResults.(init)(CaseStudy.java.259)
         at GUI.(init)(CaseStudy.java:34)
         at CaseStudy.main(CaseStudy.java:15)Not quite sure what this one means or how to handle it. =\

    A NullPointerException means a method has been called on a null object, or a variable that isn't pointing to any object. Your Exception points to line 330, which is:
    length = s.length();A NPE on that line means that s is null. So let's look at where s is set:
    if (br.readLine() == null) return answerarray;
    else s = br.readLine();s gets it's value from br.readLine(), so that method must be returning null. You have a logical error here. Look at your If-Else. It reads a line, makes sure it isn't null...then it reads another line. Well what if that line is null? You are performing 2 reads here instead of 1.
    Since your If condition returns a value, there's no need for an Else. The code will continue on until it reaches another return. Try this:
    s = br.readLine();
    if (s == null) return answerarray;

    It means your proxy-server doesn't allow HTTPS tunneling. Have you looked at the "Allow" header in the response? If the proxy is coded correctly, it's supposed to contain ways you can reach the requested resource in ways the proxy will allow.
    Some proxies don't allow HTTPS tunneling because they want to be able to log the traffic contents. Perhaps this is one of them.
