Microsoft Federation Gateway Support??

Trying to find the correct department / team to contact about having our domain unblock so we can add Microsoft Federation gateway trust with our on premise exchange.
However Microsoft Customer services and is not even aware of this product and when I ask to speak to their Exchange team I have to pay ??!??!

My understanding is that the answer is to call Microsoft Online Support whether or not you are an Office 365 customer.  If you are correct, an answer might be to create an Office 365 trial tenancy, add and verify your domain, and then call Microsoft
Online Support.

    Hi,
In addition, please try to create a recipient policy to add that subdomain email addresses to all my users, then create a new trust for that subdomain as the subject of the cert, add that subdomain as the primary domain, and then add the main domain as an
additional one to the federation trust.
    Thanks

  • Issue when Creating a Federation Trust with MFG (Microsoft Federation Gateway)

I am trying to create a Federation Trust with MFG (Microsoft Federation Gateway).  However, I am running into a problem.  I see in the following that link (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607475(v=exchg.141).aspx)
that I have to run this command:
    Set-ExchangeServer -Identity "MAIL01" -InternetWebProxy "<Webproxy URL>"
Please note that I have the following in our Exchange 2010 SP3 environment:
Two CAS/HT Servers (CAS Array between the two)
Two mailbox servers (DAG between the two)
One mailbox server (for stand-alone mailbox/archive databases)
We use windows load balancing and the internal/external VIP name is "mail.domain.com"
    1. What do I put for the "Web Proxy URL"?
    2. Do I have to run the Set-ExchangeServer -Identity "MAIL01" -InternetWebProxy "<Webproxy URL>" command on every server?

The link you posted is different than free-busy sharing through the Microsoft Federation Gateway.  All you need to establish Organization Relationships through the Microsoft Federation Gateway is properly published Autodiscover and Exchange Web Services.
You can use the Exchange Remote Connectivity Analyzer (http://exrca.com) to validate that.

  • Microsoft Federation Gateway error provision partner STS

    All,
I am trying to setup MFG federation trust for Free/Busy with another company.  After I add MFG, I manage the MFG and run through the wizard, but, I get this error:
An error occurred while attempting to provision Exchange to parner STS.  An error occurred accesssing windows live.  Detailed information:  The underlying connection was closed.  The connection was closed unexpectedly.
That is all I get.  From research, I am able to go to this website on echange server...
    https://domains.live.com/service/managedelegation2.asmx
I already have the external DNS TXT record setup.
Autodisocover is completing successfully with warning from MS Connectivity analyzer.
    Any ideas??????

I'll take a peek on that later,
    BUT
you need to upgrade to SP3 now.

  • Deleted Federated Gateway

    Hi,
I have been having an issue with Exchange 2010 federation that I hope someone can help me with.
I am trying to setup free/busy and calendar sharing with an external organisation.  I had some problems with it and decided to delete everything and start from scratch. I deleted the org relationship OK using EMC, however when removing the
trust I constantly got errors and I couldn't remove it using either the EMC or powershell.
Eventually I gave up and removed the object in AD configuration,
CN=Federation,CN=xxxxxx,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=xxxxxx,DC=local.  I knew this would cause later problems and it is.
This deleted it from EMC, but but when I run Get-FederatedOrganizationIdentifier I am still seeing this

    a) Sureley there should no data returned, let alone saying enabled=true
    b) the delegationtrustlink points to deleted items container.
    c) When I create a new trust I can never seem to add any domains to it.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Before remove the federation trust, we need to clear up the federation domains. there is the Remove-FederatedDomain –Force switch you can use. Use it to clean up the federated domain, and after that use Remove-FederatedTrust to remove the trust. Next, use
UI to create the trust again. By default the UI will setup the trust with the business gateway.

  • Remote Desktop Gateway Support One Time Passwords?

We are considering setting up a Remote Desktop Gateway server so users can remote control their office desktop PCs from home without needing VPN.
The plan is for it to only be a secure pass-through from the Internet to their desktop PC.  There will be not be any terminal services login or web apps hosted on the server.  We have not decided if RDWeb will be available.  It is likely that
users will just use a RDP client such as the Microsoft MSTSC.exe Remote Desktop client in Windows or similar app for iOS, Android or OSX rather than use a browser to reach their PC.
I noticed that most RDP clients, mobile apps and web browsers have an option to remember credentials so they can log in without typing credentials the next time they connect.  This will be a security threat if their PC is stolen and not encrypted.  Is
there any way to provide access, but prevent users from reusing saved passwords to connect to the Remote Desktop Gateway without using smart cards?
I had that the idea of having some kind of one time password system to authenticate through the RD Gateway so saved passwords would be useless.  What does Remote Desktop Gateway support that can do this?

    Hi,
Thanks for your posting in Windows Server Forum.
I consider that you are trying to find the solution as per below article. Please go through carefully.
    1. Configuring the TS Gateway OTP Scenario
    2. RD Gateway deployment in a perimeter network & Firewall rules
    Hope it helps!

  • What version(s) of Microsoft Office are supported by GW2012

We have a customer currently on GW2012 who is using the old Novell OpenOffice release (3.2.1-22 IIRC) to integrate with GroupWise Document Libraries. To cut a long story short it is not a rewarding experience for the customer and they want to switch to using Microsoft Office.
So my question is simple - Which version(s) of Microsoft Office are supported by Novell to work with DMS integration for GroupWise 2012?
I know they need to be 32bit for ODMA support to even exist but are we talking Office 2007/2010/2013, any of them or none? If nothing is supported any longer then why is DMS even included in GW2012? Moving them to Vibe would be a big ask.
If this customer buys Microsoft Office and has issues using it with their GW system then we need to be able to raise an SR with Novell and not get a "that's not supported" answer.
    TIA,
    Mark.

We have been using Office 2010 x32 for about a year with GW 2012 SP2 -
    so far so good.
As a note, we do get Error 8E14 from time to time when creating a new
document using "Save As" with an older library document as the source.
We are able to recover the new file with a few steps and no data is
    lost. Just annoying.
Not sure about Vibe .... no custom fields, etc

  • Federation gateway and ISP Change

Hello...we have a federation gateway connection..through it  we look up free / busy information  between our two branch offices...exchange 2010 on both sides...one branch will be changing ISPs which means new external IP addresses...what affect

  • How many gateway supported by PGW ?

Does anyone know that the number of maximum gateway support of PGW ?

Each instance of AE can only access a maximum of 4 GB of RAM (on Vista64). With the "Render multiple frames simultaneously" option in the preferences, AE CS3 and later can start several hidden copies of itself in the background, which can each address that maxmium amount of RAM, so your machine would ideally use 5 processor cores (5 x 4 = 20 GB and leave 4 GB for the OS.)
In CS4 you can set the number of cores to use, in CS3 you have to do it via a text file, detailed in this post:
    i http://generalspecialist.com/2007/02/troubleshooting-after-effects-7.asp (look for "MaxNumberOfProcesses")
PS. On OS X, each instance can address 3.5 GB and on Windows XP and Windows Vista 2 GB (or 3 GB if you are adventurous:

  • Microsoft - Worst Customer Support ever! Where can I get a decent Microsoft customer support for Windows in the UK?

I have just tried to created the ISO of the operating system I am using for last 5 years, Windows 7 Ultimate.  I remembered that on Microsoft website are quick links dedicated exactly for that purpose. However, when page loaded I've seen this:
The Page or File You Requested Could Not Be Provided
The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found.
If you purchased your Microsoft Windows software from another source, but have the software key provided by Microsoft, you can download the Windows operating
    system from the following website:
    Windows Downloads
When I have clicked on the download link it took me to the webpage which seemed everything going for it.  3-step guide, including  the product code and language. Brilliant! I thought, until after filling all the details I have clicked on 'Next-Verify
Product Key' than I faced a message:
Validating your product key. This may take several minutes. Do not refresh the page or select back, doing so will cancel
    the request.
When finished, a message pop up:  that the language provided is not compatible with the product key - try different language. Interesting, I am using this product last five years but is not compatible with English? I must have been a fairy then
to be able to make it work for all these years. Then it got better.
I have tried it again with a different message in the end:
    System Error
We encountered a problem with the product key you provided.  Please visit the  Microsoft Support Contact Us page
for assistance.  Refer to Message Code 715-123130.
So I have contacted Microsoft.  Contacting Microsoft is an experience itself and half.
Being Microsoft certified, I used the link provided for IT Pros. I click the link provided and the page started loading..... and still loading now....
So I have decided to call the customer support as you would normally do with any other organisation. To actually get to the phone number, illogically placed, took me a few loops around MS website. Once called, I got to speak to very efficient lady on reception
who kindly switched me to the Technical Support. That's going well, I thought.
Once the connection has been made, I felt that MS technical support is based in submarine 3 miles under water in Japanese sea. All I could hear was the very familiar sound of water of modern Voice over IP connection dated back in 2003 and a male voice (but
by the sound of it it might have been a whale) asking me my name. Unsurprisingly, the connection was interrupted several times when I tried to describe my issue I am having, and eventually I was disconnected.
Still not put off, I made another attempt to contact MS customer service. This time I have been talking to a woman, seemed a little bit closer, maybe Bristol waters? Still in the submarine but not so deep. Also here I was asked my name AND surname; then
I have described my intentions and the difficulty I am having in succeeding it. The woman on the phone didn't get at all what I was saying. I had to literally spat out word by word what the problem is. (Luckily, I have many years of experience supporting IT
users over 60 years of age so it didn't take so long to explain it to her.) My thought just was, oh my God, how can she help if she didn't even understand the issue. Then the phone went completely dead for 10 mins. When it came back to life, I could hear clear
sound of fishing boat passing by until a voice, I assume the same woman, apologised for the delay. And now - the best is coming:
    1) I was informed that the website is being tested, under construction and that doesn't work properly.
Comment: How can Microsoft, one of
leading organisation in  technology, do testing of website 'live'? Quite clearly, that is BS.
    2) I was advised to obtain the ISO image from 3rd Party website!!!! On question if she can give me the link to any 3rd party website the answer was NO.
Comment: Seriously, so here we are in 21st Century, dealing with almost the GOD in IT and the recommended solution is - to obtain help for the God's product from UNKNOWN 3rd Party. Brilliant! If this is the case, where Microsoft is exactly heading to???
    3) She cannot tell me when the issue of non-working website will be sorted and I should go and buy the copy of Windows; than I will be able to do the ISO.
Comment: Well, that's what I call a professional advise from Microsoft representative. The fact that I do have the physical copy was totally ignored, the fact that I have been running the system for several years have been totally ignored the whole point
of this exercise (to cut down the time making ISO using Microsoft website) was totally ignored.
When I started asking questions to clarify what has been said I have been continuously interrupted.
To my question whether MS customer service representative have been trained to interrupt customers I have been told that I am talking over her. I asked her name, which she told me but I didn't catch and therefore I have asked if she could spell it. On that
    point she hung up.
Well done Microsoft! And now I want to know just one reason why I should buy your products when the support, in case of problems, is not existent.
Does anyone know where I can get a decent customer service that can resolve my issue better than smudge it ?
    Thank you.

Just having the same issue there, which is real not fun, I have not tried to contact them, but looking at  your experience I am not sure if I should.
My key comes from the back of a laptop o so I guess that would be a W7
OEM, and that could explain why you can't download a ISO from their website, would that also your case ?
Also could it be because we are attempting to get the ISO after the product became EOL ?

Maybe I will give a go with the customer care people and maybe I will get a right answer ;)

  • Microsoft office 2013 support WOW 5 phone calls so far

I have posted this to the Microsoft community and thought I would also post it in the forums
    posted Thursday April 9 2015
I look after multiple locations across Ontario for a company each their own separate entity so volume licencing is not applicable.
The situation is that I have installed 17 copies of office 2013 and registered the product keys with my Microsoft account, and when I log into the Microsoft account the product keys I find on the site don't correspond to any of the physical
product key card serial numbers I have.  talked to Microsoft support twice with no solution.  was told by 1 person I should have a Microsoft account for each install.  I will be doing 100 installs eventually.  the second person told
me I didn't matter what download I selected from my Microsoft account as it would automatically prompt me for a product key.  it didn't.  spent 4 hours on phone so far and received 1 email, all with canned answers which don't even correspond to the
    problem
    posted update April 10th 2015
I have 17 keys registered to the 1 account.  I did a test this morning.  I installed a brand new copy of office 2013 right out of the box to a computer and registered it to a new Microsoft account with only 1 copy of office registered to that account.
I log into the new Microsoft account this morning and the product key online associated with the account isn't the same as the product key I inputted yesterday from the key card.
Anyone have any ideas about this
    Update
Installed second brand new copy from the same Microsoft account to a different computer and it said it was already registered.  had to manual registration.  requested a call back from Microsoft support and got the call and explained the situation
and the person couldn't help me but thought installation and licencing could and was transferred.  explained 90% of the situation before I was disconnected.  In case you are wondering I am being polite on the phone as I realize the people I
am talking to are not the cause of the issue
I need a call from someone higher up in support for office 2013 and cant seem to do this. if I call customer support it is really only a facilitator which pushes me off to a support desk or something called up-and-running and none of them
even acknowledge the issue of the product key mismatches
Any help would be appreciated as the support from Microsoft on this has been useless
    Andrew

For problems with MS Office for Mac and other 3rd party apps, its best to go to the forums run by the people who make them, it really doesn't have anything to do with Apple.  For MS this is :
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macword
MS Word for Mac OS X has never supported any RTL or Indic script, even after 14 years.  Other apps that work ok for most users are Mellel, Pages 5, TextEdit, Nisus Writer, and LibreOffice.
If your problem is focussed on editing a complex RTL doc created by Windows Word, then the best fix may be to run Windows on your Mac and work within Office for Windows.
